¹ And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and showing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him, ² And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, ³ And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance. ⁴ And when many people were gathered together, and had come to him out of every city, he spoke by a parable: ⁵ A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. ⁶ And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. ⁷ And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. ⁸ And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bore fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that has ears to hear, let him hear. ⁹ And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be? ¹⁰ And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. ¹¹ Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. ¹² Those by the wayside are they that hear; then comes the devil, and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. ¹³ They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. ¹⁴ And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. ¹⁵ But that on the good ground are they, which in a honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. ¹⁶ No man, when he has lighted a candle, covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed; but sets it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light. ¹⁷ For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad. ¹⁸ Take heed therefore how you hear: for whosoever has, to him shall be given; and whosoever has not, from him shall be taken even that which he seems to have. ¹⁹ Then came to him his mother and his brothers, and could not come at him for the press. ²⁰ And it was told him by certain which said, Your mother and your brothers stand outside, desiring to see you. ²¹ And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brothers are these which hear the word of God, and do it. ²² Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a boat with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth. ²³ But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. ²⁴ And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. ²⁵ And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commands even the winds and water, and they obey him. ²⁶ And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee. ²⁷ And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs. ²⁸ When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of God most high? I beseech you, torment me not. ²⁹ (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he broke the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.) ³⁰ And Jesus asked him, saying, What is your name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him. ³¹ And they sought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep. ³² And there was there a herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they sought him that he would permit them to enter into them. And he permitted them. ³³ Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked. ³⁴ When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country. ³⁵ Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. ³⁶ They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed. ³⁷ Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about sought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the boat, and returned back again. ³⁸ Now the man out of whom the devils were departed sought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying, ³⁹ Return to your own house, and show what great things God has done unto you. And he went his way, and announced throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done unto him. ⁴⁰ And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him. ⁴¹ And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and sought him that he would come into his house: ⁴² For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him. ⁴³ And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, ⁴⁴ Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. ⁴⁵ And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng you and press you, and say you, Who touched me? ⁴⁶ And Jesus said, Somebody has touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. ⁴⁷ And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. ⁴⁸ And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: your faith has made you whole; go in peace. ⁴⁹ While he yet spoke, there comes one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Your daughter is dead; trouble not the Master. ⁵⁰ But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole. ⁵¹ And when he came into the house, he permitted no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden. ⁵² And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleeps. ⁵³ And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. ⁵⁴ And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise. ⁵⁵ And her spirit came again, and she arose immediately: and he commanded to give her food. ⁵⁶ And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.

²³ And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

¹ And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed from there to teach and to preach in their cities.

¹⁹ When any one hears the word of the kingdom, and understands it not, then comes the wicked one, and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the wayside.

³⁹ And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.

¹⁶ And Simon he surnamed Peter; ¹⁷ And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder: ¹⁸ And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite, ¹⁹ And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into a house.

¹⁰ And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. ¹¹ For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

¹⁸ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

⁴³ And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent. ⁴⁴ And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.

¹⁴ Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew, ¹⁵ Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes, ¹⁶ And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.

³⁸ How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

³² And we declare unto you glad tidings, that the promise which was made unto the fathers,

¹⁵ And how shall they preach, unless they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

⁵⁵ And many women were there beholding far off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him: ⁵⁶ Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's children.

⁴⁰ There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome; ⁴¹ (Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem.

¹ And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.

⁹ Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.

³⁰ And Jesus asked him, saying, What is your name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.

²⁷ And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him.

⁴⁹ And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things.

⁵⁵ And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulcher, and how his body was laid.

²⁵ Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.

¹⁴ These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.

¹¹ And when they had come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.

¹ At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,

⁴⁰ And the King shall answer and say unto them, Truthfully I say unto you, Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brothers, you have done it unto me.

¹¹ For you have the poor always with you; but me you have not always.

⁷ Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him: and he was perplexed, because it was said of some, that John was risen from the dead; ⁸ And of some, that Elijah had appeared; and of others, that one of the old prophets was risen again. ⁹ And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.

¹⁰ It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.

⁴⁶ So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum. ⁴⁷ When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and asked him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death. ⁴⁸ Then said Jesus unto him, Unless you see signs and wonders, you will not believe. ⁴⁹ The nobleman says unto him, Sir, come down before my child dies. ⁵⁰ Jesus says unto him, Go your way; your son lives. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way. ⁵¹ And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Your son lives. ⁵² Then inquired he of them the hour when he began to get well. And they said unto him, yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him. ⁵³ So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in which Jesus said unto him, Your son lives: and himself believed, and his whole house.

³⁶ Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did. ³⁷ And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. ³⁸ And forasmuch as Lydda was close to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them. ³⁹ Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

¹ Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might be rich.

²² All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Caesar's household.

¹⁰ Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

¹ And he began again to teach by the seaside: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a boat, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land. ² And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine, ³ Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: ⁴ And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the wayside, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. ⁵ And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: ⁶ But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. ⁷ And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. ⁸ And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some a hundred. ⁹ And he said unto them, He that has ears to hear, let him hear.

¹³ You are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost its savour, with what shall it be salted? it is thereafter good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

³ And he spoke many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; ⁴ And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the wayside, and the fowls came and devoured them up:

¹⁸ Hear you therefore the parable of the sower. ¹⁹ When any one hears the word of the kingdom, and understands it not, then comes the wicked one, and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the wayside.

²⁴ Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: ²⁵ But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. ²⁶ But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

³⁷ He answered and said unto them, He that sows the good seed is the Son of man;

² And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine, ³ Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: ⁴ And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the wayside, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.

¹⁵ And these are they by the wayside, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan comes immediately, and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.

²⁶ And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; ²⁷ And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knows not how. ²⁸ For the earth brings forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. ²⁹ But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

¹¹ Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. ¹² Those by the wayside are they that hear; then comes the devil, and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

¹ Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

²³ For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: ²⁴ For he beholds himself, and goes his way, and immediately forgets what manner of man he was.

⁵ Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: ⁶ And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

²⁰ But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that hears the word, and quickly with joy receives it; ²¹ yet has he not root in himself, but lasts for a while: for when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, by and by he is offended.

⁵ And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: ⁶ But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

¹⁶ And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; ¹⁷ And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution arises for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.

¹³ They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

⁴ Or do you despise the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? ⁵ But after your hardness and impenitent heart treasure up unto yourself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

⁷ Therefore (as the Holy Ghost says, Today if you will hear his voice, ⁸ Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

¹⁵ While it is said, Today if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

⁷ And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

²² He also that received seed among the thorns is he that hears the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.

⁷ And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

¹⁸ And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, ¹⁹ And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

¹⁴ And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

³⁴ And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

⁷ For the earth which drinks in the rain that comes often upon it, and brings forth herbs suitable for them by whom it is dressed, receives blessing from God: ⁸ But that which bears thorns and briers is rejected, and is close unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

³ Jesus answered and said unto him, Truthfully, truthfully, I say unto you, Unless a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. ⁴ Nicodemus says unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? ⁵ Jesus answered, Truthfully, truthfully, I say unto you, Unless a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

¹⁰ For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.

¹⁰ That you might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

⁷ He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

¹¹ He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches; He that overcomes shall not be hurt of the second death.

¹⁰ And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speak you unto them in parables?

³⁶ Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

¹⁵ Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.

¹⁰ And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.

³⁴ But without a parable spoke he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.

¹⁷ And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable. ¹⁸ And he says unto them, Are you so without understanding also? Do you not perceive, that whatsoever thing from outside enters into the man, it cannot defile him;

¹⁵ Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hid these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them unto babes.

¹⁵ For this people's heart is grown gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. ¹⁶ But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. ¹⁷ For truthfully I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which you see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which you hear, and have not heard them.

¹⁷ And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood has not revealed it unto you, but my Father who is in heaven.

¹¹ And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are outside, all these things are done in parables:

²¹ In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hid these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in your sight. ²² All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knows who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him. ²³ And he turned him unto his disciples, and said secretly, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that you see: ²⁴ For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which you see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which you hear, and have not heard them.

⁴⁰ He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

²⁶ Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you shall see, and not perceive: ²⁷ For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

⁷ What then? Israel has not obtained that which he seeks for; but the election has obtained it, and the rest were blinded. ⁸ (According as it is written, God has given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. ⁹ And David says, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling block, and a recompense unto them: ¹⁰ Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back always.

²⁵ Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

⁷ But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: ⁸ Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. ⁹ But as it is written, eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him. ¹⁰ But God has revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. ¹¹ For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God.

¹¹ But all these works that one and the very same Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

³ That by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote before in few words, ⁴ Whereby, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) ⁵ Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; ⁶ That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: ⁷ Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effective working of his power. ⁸ Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; ⁹ And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world has been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

²⁶ Even the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: ²⁷ To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: ²⁸ Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

² That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

¹⁶ And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

¹⁰ Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: ¹¹ Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. ¹² Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

¹⁴ The sower sows the word. ¹⁵ And these are they by the wayside, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan comes immediately, and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. ¹⁶ And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; ¹⁷ And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution arises for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. ¹⁸ And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, ¹⁹ And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. ²⁰ And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.

⁶ I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. ⁷ So then neither is he that plants any thing, neither he that waters; but God that gives the increase.

⁹ For we are laborers together with God: you are God's husbandry, you are God's building. ¹⁰ According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds thereon. But let every man take heed how he builds thereupon. ¹¹ For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. ¹² Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

²¹ Therefore lay aside all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

²³ Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever. ²⁴ For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower of it falls away: ²⁵ But the word of the Lord endures forever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

⁵ A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.

⁹ Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, ¹⁰ And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹ And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: ¹² That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. ¹³ But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brothers beloved of the Lord, because God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: ¹⁴ Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

²⁰ For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and a holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.

³¹ And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: ³² But I have prayed for you, that your faith fail not: and when you are converted, strengthen your brothers.

²³ Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did. ²⁴ But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, ²⁵ And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.

³⁵ He was a burning and a shining light: and you were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.

³⁰ As he spoke these words, many believed on him. ³¹ Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed; ³² And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

⁴² Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: ⁴³ For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

² Every branch in me that bears not fruit he takes away: and every branch that bears fruit, he purges it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

⁶ If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

¹³ Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. ¹⁴ Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: ¹⁵ Who, when they had come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: ¹⁶ (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) ¹⁷ Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. ¹⁸ And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, ¹⁹ Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. ²⁰ But Peter said unto him, Your money perish with you, because you have thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. ²¹ You have neither part nor lot in this matter: for your heart is not right in the sight of God. ²² Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. ²³ For I perceive that you are in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

² And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing.

² By which also you are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless you have believed in vain.

¹ O foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ has been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

⁴ Have you suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.

¹⁵ Where is then the blessedness you spoke of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, you would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me. ¹⁶ Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth? ¹⁷ They zealously affect you, but not well; yes, they would exclude you, that you might affect them. ¹⁸ But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you. ¹⁹ My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you, ²⁰ I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you.

¹⁷ That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

²³ If you continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

⁷ Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

⁵ For this cause, when I could no longer hold back, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labor be in vain.

¹⁹ Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:

¹⁸ Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. ¹⁹ Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal, The Lord knows them that are his. And, Let every one that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

³⁹ But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

²⁶ For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

²⁰ For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in it, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

²² But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

¹⁹ They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

¹² These are spots in your feasts of love, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withers, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

²⁴ No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. ²⁵ Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor yet for your body, what you shall put on. Is not the life more than food, and the body than clothing?

¹⁹ And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

⁷ And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.

⁶ He spoke also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. ⁷ Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why does it occupy the ground? ⁸ And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: ⁹ And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that you shall cut it down.

¹³ No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

²⁶ And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. ²⁷ They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. ²⁸ Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; ²⁹ But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. ³⁰ Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

²⁴ And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! ²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

⁹ But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. ¹⁰ For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

¹⁷ Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy;

¹⁰ For Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

¹⁵ Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. ¹⁶ For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. ¹⁷ And the world passes away, and the lust of it: but he that does the will of God abides forever.

¹³ But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

⁴⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

²⁸ But he said, yes rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

¹⁵ If you love me, keep my commandments.

²¹ He that has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. ²² Judas says unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself unto us, and not unto the world? ²³ Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. ²⁴ He that loves me not keeps not my sayings: and the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

¹⁰ If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; just as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

⁷ To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life:

²² But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, you have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

⁴ Therefore, my brothers, you also have become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that you should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

¹⁸ For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwells no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. ¹⁹ Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, ²³ Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. ²⁴ And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. ²⁵ If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. ²⁶ Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

⁸ For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

¹¹ Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

¹³ Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, ¹⁴ I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing you be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

⁶ Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and brings forth fruit, as it does also in you, since the day you heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:

¹¹ And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: ¹² That you be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

³⁶ For you have need of patience, that, after you have done the will of God, you might receive the promise.

⁴ But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

¹⁶ Do not err, my beloved brothers. ¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. ¹⁸ Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures. ¹⁹ Therefore, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

²² But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. ²³ For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: ²⁴ For he beholds himself, and goes his way, and immediately forgets what manner of man he was. ²⁵ But whoever looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues in it, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

⁷ Be patient therefore, brothers, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waits for the precious fruit of the earth, and has long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. ⁸ Be you also patient; establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draws close.

¹ Therefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, all evil speakings, ² As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow thereby: ³ And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

¹⁵ Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light unto all that are in the house. ¹⁶ Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

²¹ And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? ²² For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.

³³ No man, when he has lighted a candle, puts it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.

¹⁸ To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith that is in me.

¹⁵ That you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom you shine as lights in the world; ¹⁶ Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither labored in vain.

²⁰ The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which you saw are the seven churches.

⁴ These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

²⁶ Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

²² For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.

² For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. ³ Therefore whatsoever you have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which you have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

⁵ Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

²² Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works? ²³ And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity.

¹² For whosoever has, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever has not, from him shall be taken away even that which he has.

²⁹ For unto every one that has shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that has not shall be taken away even that which he has.

²³ If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. ²⁴ And he said unto them, Take heed what you hear: with what measure you mete out, it shall be measured back to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. ²⁵ For he that has, to him shall be given: and he that has not, from him shall be taken even that which he has.

¹⁴ But when you shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it should not, (let him that read understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

⁴⁴ Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.

²⁰ But God said unto him, You fool, this night your soul shall be required of you: then whose shall those things be, which you have provided? ²¹ So is he that lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

² And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of you? give an account of your stewardship; for you may be no longer steward. ³ Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord takes away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed. ⁴ I know what I may do, that when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.

¹⁹ There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and dined sumptuously every day: ²⁰ And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, ²¹ And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. ²² And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; ²³ And in hell he lifts up his eyes, being in torment, and sees Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. ²⁴ And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. ²⁵ But Abraham said, Son, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and you are tormented.

²⁶ For I say unto you, That unto every one which has shall be given; and from him that has not, even that he has shall be taken away from him.

³³ Immediately therefore I sent to you; and you have well done that you are come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded you of God.

¹¹ These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

³ For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith.

¹⁸ Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seems to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

² And if any man think that he knows any thing, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know.

¹ Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. ² And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing. ³ And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profits me nothing.

³⁷ If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

⁴ Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinks that he has whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:

¹⁹ Therefore, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: ²⁰ For the wrath of man works not the righteousness of God. ²¹ Therefore lay aside all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. ²² But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. ²³ For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: ²⁴ For he beholds himself, and goes his way, and immediately forgets what manner of man he was. ²⁵ But whoever looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues in it, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. ²⁶ If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridles not his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

⁴⁶ While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, desiring to speak with him. ⁴⁷ Then one said unto him, Behold, your mother and your brothers stand outside, desiring to speak with you. ⁴⁸ But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brothers? ⁴⁹ And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brothers! ⁵⁰ For whosoever shall do the will of my Father who is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

²¹ And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.

³¹ There came then his brothers and his mother, and, standing outside, sent unto him, calling him. ³² And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, your mother and your brothers outside seek for you. ³³ And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brothers? ³⁴ And he looked round about on those who sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brothers! ³⁵ For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

⁵⁵ Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brothers, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? ⁵⁶ And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then has this man all these things?

³ Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

³ His brothers therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that your disciples also may see the works that you are doing. ⁴ For there is no man that does any thing in secret, and he himself seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, show yourself to the world. ⁵ For neither did his brothers believe in him. ⁶ Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is always ready.

⁵ Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?

¹⁹ But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother.

²¹ Not every one that says unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father who is in heaven. ²² Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works? ²³ And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity. ²⁴ Therefore whosoever hears these sayings of mine, and does them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: ²⁵ And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. ²⁶ And every one that hears these sayings of mine, and does them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

⁵ While he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear you him.

⁴⁵ Then shall he answer them, saying, Truthfully I say unto you, Inasmuch as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me.

¹⁰ Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brothers that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

²⁷ And it came to pass, as he spoke these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the paps which you have sucked. ²⁸ But he said, yes rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

²⁸ Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? ²⁹ Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that you believe on him whom he has sent.

¹⁷ If you know these things, happy are you if you do them.

¹⁴ You are my friends, if you do whatsoever I command you. ¹⁵ Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

¹⁷ Jesus says unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brothers, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

¹⁶ Therefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yes, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

¹⁸ And will be a Father unto you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.

¹¹ For both he that sanctifies and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers, ¹² Saying, I will declare your name unto my brothers, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto you. ¹³ And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God has given me.

²² But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

²⁹ If you know that he is righteous, you know that every one that does righteousness is born of him.

²² And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. ²³ And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

¹¹ Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that does good is of God: but he that does evil has not seen God.

¹⁸ Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.

²³ And when he was entered into a boat, his disciples followed him. ²⁴ And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the boat was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. ²⁵ And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. ²⁶ And he says unto them, Why are you fearful, O you of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. ²⁷ But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

²² And immediately Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a boat, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.

³⁵ And the same day, when the evening was come, he says unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. ³⁶ And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him just as he was in the boat. And there were also with him other little boats. ³⁷ And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was now full. ³⁸ And he was in the hinder part of the boat, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, care you not that we perish? ³⁹ And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. ⁴⁰ And he said unto them, Why are you so fearful? how is it that you have no faith? ⁴¹ And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

²¹ And when Jesus had passed over again by boat unto the other side, many people gathered unto him: and he was close unto the sea.

⁴⁵ And immediately he constrained his disciples to get into the boat, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.

¹³ And he left them, and entering into the boat again departed to the other side.

¹ And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,

²³ But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

¹ After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias.

²² Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a boat with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.

¹⁴ But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon. ¹⁵ And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive. ¹⁶ And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat: ¹⁷ Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, struck sail, and so were driven. ¹⁸ And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship; ¹⁹ And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship. ²⁰ And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.

¹⁵ For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted just as we are, yet without sin.

³⁰ But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

³⁹ And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.

⁵ And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at your word I will let down the net.

² And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. ³ And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus says unto him, They have no wine. ⁴ Jesus says unto her, Woman, what have I to do with you? my hour is not yet come. ⁵ His mother says unto the servants, Whatsoever he says unto you, do it. ⁶ And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons each.

⁹ But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raises the dead: ¹⁰ Who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

³⁰ Therefore, if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

²⁶ And he says unto them, Why are you fearful, O you of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

³¹ And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O you of little faith, why did you doubt?

²⁰ And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for truthfully I say unto you, If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

²⁸ If then God so clothe the grass, which is today in the field, and the next day is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith?

⁴⁰ Jesus says unto her, Said I not unto you, that, if you would believe, you should see the glory of God?

²⁸ And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. ²⁹ And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with you, Jesus, you Son of God? are you come here to torment us before the time? ³⁰ And there was a good way off from them a herd of many swine feeding. ³¹ So the devils besought him, saying, If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of swine. ³² And he said unto them, Go. And when they had come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters. ³³ And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told everything, and what was befallen to those possessed of the devils. ³⁴ And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they asked him to depart out of their borders.

¹ And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. ² And when he was come out of the boat, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, ³ Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: ⁴ Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. ⁵ And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. ⁶ But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, ⁷ And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the most high God? I beg you by God, that you torment me not. ⁸ For he said unto him, Come out of the man, you unclean spirit. ⁹ And he asked him, What is your name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. ¹⁰ And he asked him much that he would not send them away out of the country. ¹¹ Now there was there close unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. ¹² And all the devils asked him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. ¹³ And immediately Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea. ¹⁴ And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done. ¹⁵ And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. ¹⁶ And they that saw it told them how it happened to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine. ¹⁷ And they began to ask him to depart out of their borders. ¹⁸ And when he was come into the boat, he that had been possessed with the devil asked him that he might be with him. ¹⁹ However Jesus did not permit it, but says unto him, Go home to your friends, and tell them how the Lord has done great things for you, and has had compassion on you. ²⁰ And he departed, and began to speak out in Decapolis how Jesus had done great things for him: and all men did marvel.

I know you who you are, the Holy One of God. ²⁵ And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold your peace, and come out of him. ²⁶ And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him. ²⁷ And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

⁶ But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, ⁷ And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the most high God? I beg you by God, that you torment me not. ⁸ For he said unto him, Come out of the man, you unclean spirit.

³³ And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice, ³⁴ Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with you, you Jesus of Nazareth? are you come to destroy us? I know you who you are; the Holy One of God. ³⁵ And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold your peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not. ³⁶ And they were all amazed, and spoke among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.

³⁷ Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about sought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the boat, and returned back again. ³⁸ Now the man out of whom the devils were departed sought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,

¹⁶ And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: ¹⁷ The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which show unto us the way of salvation. ¹⁸ And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

¹⁹ You believe that there is one God; you are doing well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

⁴ For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

⁸ He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

¹ And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. ² And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, ³ And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

¹⁰ And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.

⁸ For he said unto him, Come out of the man, you unclean spirit.

²⁰ And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, immediately the spirit tore him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. ²¹ And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. ²² And frequently it has cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us. ²³ Jesus said unto him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes. ²⁴ And immediately the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help you my unbelief. ²⁵ When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, You dumb and deaf spirit, I charge you, come out of him, and enter no more into him. ²⁶ And the spirit cried, and tore him extremely, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; so much that many said, He is dead.

³⁹ And, lo, a spirit takes him, and he suddenly cries out; and it tears him that he foams again, and bruising him hardly departs from him.

⁴² And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.

¹² So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them. ¹³ Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over those who had evil spirits the name of the LORD Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. ¹⁴ And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. ¹⁵ And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you? ¹⁶ And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

²⁵ In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God perhaps will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; ²⁶ And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

⁵³ Think you that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

⁹ And he asked him, What is your name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

² And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,

⁴¹ Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

²⁸ When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of God most high? I beseech you, torment me not.

¹⁰ That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; ¹¹ And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

¹ And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. ² And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

¹¹ And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue has his name Apollyon.

⁷ And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

⁸ The beast that you saw was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

²⁰ And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

¹⁴ And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. ¹⁵ And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

¹¹ Jesus answered, You could have no power at all against me, unless it were given you from above: therefore he that delivered me unto you has the greater sin.

⁴ You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

⁴⁴ You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

⁸ Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour:

³³ And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told everything, and what was befallen to those possessed of the devils.

¹¹ Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and showed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.

¹⁴ And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.

¹⁶ And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. ¹⁷ And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

¹⁵ And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

⁴⁶ And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

²⁷ And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.

³⁹ And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.

¹⁷ And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

³ I am truthfully a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as you all are this day.

¹⁴ Since the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; ¹⁵ And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

²⁴ And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with different diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were insane, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

³⁴ And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they asked him to depart out of their borders.

¹⁷ And they began to ask him to depart out of their borders.

⁸ When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

⁵ And whosoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

⁵⁶ For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.

¹⁰ But into whatsoever city you enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say, ¹¹ Even the very dust of your city, which cleaves on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come close unto you.

¹⁶ He that hears you hears me; and he that despises you despises me; and he that despises me despises him that sent me.

³⁹ And they came and sought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city.

³⁷ Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about sought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the boat, and returned back again.

¹³ Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he has done to your saints at Jerusalem: ¹⁴ And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on your name. ¹⁵ But the Lord said unto him, Go your way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: ¹⁶ For I will show him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.

²³ But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preaches the faith which once he destroyed. ²⁴ And they glorified God in me.

²³ For I am in a tight place between the two, having a desire to depart, an to be with Christ; which is far better:

¹³ Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. ¹⁴ And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. ¹⁶ Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to those who should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

⁴⁵ But he went out, and began to announce it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was outside in deserted places: and they came to him from every quarter.

¹⁵ And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, ¹⁶ And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. ¹⁷ And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? ¹⁸ There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

²⁹ Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

⁸ But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

¹ And he entered into a boat, and passed over, and came into his own city.

³⁷ David therefore himself calls him Lord; and how is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.

⁶ And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.

³⁷ And when he was come close, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; ³⁸ Saying, Blessed be the King that comes in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

⁴⁸ And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.

⁷ And Jesus says unto him, I will come and heal him. ⁸ The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

¹⁸ While he spoke these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay your hand upon her, and she shall live. ¹⁹ And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples. ²⁰ And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: ²¹ For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. ²² But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; your faith has made you whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. ²³ And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, ²⁴ He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleeps. And they laughed him to scorn. ²⁵ But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. ²⁶ And the fame of this went abroad into all that land.

²² And, behold, there comes one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, ²³ And asked him greatly, saying, My little daughter lies at the point of death: I pray you, come and lay your hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. ²⁴ And Jesus went with him; and many people followed him, and thronged him. ²⁵ And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood for twelve years, ²⁶ And had endured many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, ²⁷ When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. ²⁸ For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. ²⁹ And immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. ³⁰ And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that power had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? ³¹ And his disciples said unto him, You see the multitude thronging you, and say you, Who touched me? ³² And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. ³³ But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. ³⁴ And he said unto her, Daughter, your faith has made you whole; go in peace, and be whole of your plague. ³⁵ While he yet spoke, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Your daughter is dead: why trouble you the Master any further? ³⁶ As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he says unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. ³⁷ And he permitted no man to follow him, except Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. ³⁸ And he comes to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and sees the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly. ³⁹ And when he was come in, he says unto them, Why make you this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleeps. ⁴⁰ And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he takes the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and enters in where the damsel was lying. ⁴¹ And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto you, arise. ⁴² And immediately the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment. ⁴³ And he charged them strictly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

⁴⁹ While he yet spoke, there comes one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Your daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.

¹⁴ And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.

¹⁶ And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

⁴⁶ So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum. ⁴⁷ When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and asked him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death. ⁴⁸ Then said Jesus unto him, Unless you see signs and wonders, you will not believe. ⁴⁹ The nobleman says unto him, Sir, come down before my child dies.

²¹ Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if you had been here, my brother had not died.

³⁸ And forasmuch as Lydda was close to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.

¹⁵ And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, You men and brothers, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.

⁸ And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.

¹⁷ Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of those things.

⁸ And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odors, which are the prayers of saints.

²⁴ And Jesus went with him; and many people followed him, and thronged him.

¹² Now when he came close to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and many people of the city was with her.

¹⁸ And wherever he takes him, he tears him: and he foams, and gnashes with his teeth, and pines away: and I spoke to your disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.

²¹ And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. ²² And frequently it has cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.

¹¹ And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no way lift up herself.

¹⁶ And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

⁵ And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. ⁶ When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he says unto him, Do you want be made whole?

¹ And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.

²¹ But by what means he now sees, we know not; or who has opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.

² And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

²² For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was showed.

⁸ And there sat a certain man at Lystra, sick in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked: ⁹ The same heard Paul speak: who steadfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, ¹⁰ Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on your feet. And he leaped and walked.

³ And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be you clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

³⁴ So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

²⁷ When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. ²⁸ For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

⁵⁶ And wherever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and asked him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.

³⁸ And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

¹³ And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

¹³ And he that was healed knew not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.

¹⁵ Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

¹² So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

³⁰ And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that power had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? ³¹ And his disciples said unto him, You see the multitude thronging you, and say you, Who touched me? ³² And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.

¹³ But he said unto them, Give them something to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; unless we should go and buy food for all these people.

¹⁷ And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

¹⁹ And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.

⁹ But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;

⁸ And they departed quickly from the sepulcher with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

³³ But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

¹⁵ And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, ¹⁶ And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

²⁹ Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

³ And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

¹⁵ And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, while he remembers the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling you received him.

¹² Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

²⁸ Therefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with respect and godly fear:

¹³ And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go your way; and as you have believed, so be it done unto you. And his servant was healed in the very same hour.

² And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto him who was sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; your sins be forgiven you.

²² But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; your faith has made you whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

²⁰ A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

³⁴ And he said unto her, Daughter, your faith has made you whole; go in peace, and be whole of your plague.

⁵⁰ And he said to the woman, Your faith has saved you; go in peace.

¹⁹ And he said unto him, Arise, go your way: your faith has made you whole.

⁴² And Jesus said unto him, Receive your sight: your faith has saved you.

⁹ The same heard Paul speak: who steadfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,

² For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

⁶ Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not yourself: for I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof:

⁴¹ And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and sought him that he would come into his house: ⁴² For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him. ⁴³ And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,

⁷ And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give you.

³⁶ As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he says unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

²³ Jesus said unto him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.

²² And Jesus answering says unto them, Have faith in God. ²³ For Truthfully I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be you removed, and be you cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he says shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he says. ²⁴ Therefore I say unto you, Whatever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.

⁴⁸ And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: your faith has made you whole; go in peace.

²⁵ Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

¹⁷ (As it is written, I have made you a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead, and calls those things which be not as though they were.

²⁰ He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

⁵ And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Truthfully I say unto you, They have their reward. ⁶ But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly.

³³ And he takes with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;

¹⁴ Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,

²⁸ And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.

⁴⁰ But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

¹⁷ And saying, We have piped unto you, and you have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and you have not lamented.

³⁸ And he comes to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and sees the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly. ³⁹ And when he was come in, he says unto them, Why make you this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleeps.

⁴ When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

¹¹ These things said he: and after that he says unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleeps; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. ¹² Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. ¹³ Howbeit Jesus spoke of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.

⁴⁴ And Pilate wondered if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead. ⁴⁵ And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.

¹⁴ And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.

³⁹ Jesus said, Take you away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, says unto him, Lord, by this time he stinks: for he has been dead four days.

³³ But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they broke not his legs: ³⁴ But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and immediately came there out blood and water. ³⁵ And he that saw it bore record, and his record is true: and he knows that he says true, that you might believe.

²⁵ But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.

³¹ And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.

⁴⁰ And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he takes the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and enters in where the damsel was lying. ⁴¹ And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto you, arise.

²³ And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw anything.

²⁷ But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.

¹⁴ And he came and touched the bier: and they that bore him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto you, Arise. ¹⁵ And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

⁵¹ And when he came into the house, he permitted no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.

²¹ For as the Father raises up the dead, and gives life to them; even so the Son gives life to whom he will.

²⁸ Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, ²⁹ And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

⁴³ And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

⁴³ And he charged them strictly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

⁴¹ And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have you here any food? ⁴² And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of a honeycomb. ⁴³ And he took it, and did eat before them.

⁴⁴ And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus says unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

⁴ And Jesus says unto him, See you tell no man; but go your way, show your self to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

³⁰ And their eyes were opened; and Jesus strictly instructed them, saying, See that no man know it.

¹⁴ And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
