⁷ bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

²⁰ And Jacob worked for Rachel seven years, but they were as a few days in his eyes because he loved her.

¹² Did I conceive all these people? If I have fathered them,* that you could say to me, 'Carry them* in your lap, just as a foster-father carries the suckling on the land that you swore an oath to their ancestors?'* ¹³ From where do I have meat to give all these people? They weep before me, saying, 'Give us meat and let us eat!' ¹⁴ I am not able to carry all these people along alone; they are too heavy for me.

⁹ "And I spoke to them at that time, _⌊saying_⌋,* 'I am not able to bear you alone.

¹⁵ Look,* though he kill me, I will hope in* him; however, I will defend my ways _⌊before him_⌋.*

⁶⁶ Teach me good discernment and knowledge, for I believe your commands.

¹² Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers over all offenses.

⁶ Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm; for love is strong as death; passion is fierce as Sheol; its flashes are flashes of fire; it is a blazing flame. ⁷ Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away.* If a man were to give all the wealth of his house _⌊for love_⌋,* he would be utterly scorned.*

²² and you will be hated by everyone because of my name. But the one who endures to the end—this one will be saved.

³⁷ And behold, a woman in the town who was a sinner, when she* learned that he was dining in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of perfumed oil, ³⁸ and standing behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears and was wiping them* with the hair of her head and was kissing his feet and anointing them* with the perfumed oil. ³⁹ Now when* the Pharisee who invited him saw this,* he spoke to himself, saying, "If this man were a prophet, he would have known who and what kind of woman this is who is touching him, that she is a sinner."

⁴⁴ And turning toward the woman, he said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I entered into your house. You did not give me water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them* with her hair. ⁴⁵ You did not give me a kiss, but from the time I entered, she has not stopped kissing my feet. ⁴⁶ You did not anoint my head with olive oil, but she anointed my feet with perfumed oil.

⁴ And he ran on ahead and* climbed up into a sycamore tree so that he could see him, because he was going to go through that way. ⁵ And when he came to the place, Jesus looked up and* said to him, "Zacchaeus, come down quickly, because it is necessary for me to stay at your house today!" ⁶ And he came down quickly and welcomed him joyfully. ⁷ And when they* saw it,* they all began to complain,* saying, "He has gone in to find lodging with a man who is a sinner!" ⁸ And Zacchaeus stopped and* said to the Lord, "Behold, half of my possessions, Lord, I am giving to the poor, and if I have extorted anything from anyone, I am paying it* back four times as much!" ⁹ And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because he too is a son of Abraham. ¹⁰ For the Son of Man came to seek and to save those who are lost."

²⁴ For in hope we were saved, but hope that is seen is not hope, for who hopes for what he sees?

¹ But we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

¹² If others share this right over you, do we not do so even more? Yet we have not made use of this right, but we endure all things, in order that we may not cause any hindrance to the gospel of Christ.

¹⁸ What then is my reward? That when I* proclaim the gospel, I may offer the gospel free of charge, in order not to make full use of my right in the gospel. ¹⁹ For although I* am free from all people, I have enslaved myself to all, in order that I may gain more. ²⁰ I have become like a Jew to the Jews, in order that I may gain the Jews. To those under the law I became as under the law (although I* myself am not under the law) in order that I may gain those under the law. ²¹ To those outside the law I became as outside the law (although I* am not outside the law of God, but subject to the law of Christ) in order that I may gain those outside the law. ²² To the weak I became weak, in order that I may gain the weak. I have become all things to all people, in order that by all means I may save some.

⁴ Love is patient, love is kind, love is not jealous, it does not boast, it does not become conceited,

⁸ I robbed other churches by* accepting support from them for the ministry to you. ⁹ And when I* was present with you and was in need, I did not burden anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied my need, and in everything I kept myself from being a burden to you, and will keep myself from being a burden. ¹⁰ As the truth of Christ is in me, this boasting _⌊of mine_⌋* will not be stopped in the regions of Achaia. ¹¹ _⌊Why_⌋*? Because I do not love you? God knows I do! ¹² But what I am doing, I will also do, in order that I may remove the opportunity of those who want an opportunity, that they may be found just as also we are in what they are boasting about.

² Carry the burdens of one another, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

⁴ so that we ourselves boast in you in the churches of God about your patient endurance and faith in all your persecutions and the afflictions that you are enduring,

³ Suffer together with me as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. ⁴ No one who serves as a soldier is entangled in the activities of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him. ⁵ And also if anyone competes he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. ⁶ The farmer who works hard must be the first to receive a share of the crops. ⁷ Consider what I am saying, for the Lord will grant you understanding in all these things. ⁸ Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of David according to my gospel, ⁹ in connection with which I suffer misfortune to the point of _⌊imprisonment_⌋* as a criminal, but the word of God is not bound. ¹⁰ Because of this, I endure all things for the sake of the chosen, in order that they also may obtain salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

²⁴ And the slave of the Lord must not quarrel, but be kind toward everyone, skillful in teaching, tolerant,

¹¹ persecutions, and sufferings that happened to me in Antioch, in Iconium, and in Lystra, what sort of persecutions I endured, and the Lord delivered me from all of them.

⁵ But you, be self-controlled in all things, bear hardship patiently, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

¹³ So we must go out to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach.

¹² Blessed is the person* who endures testing, because when he* is approved he will receive the crown of life that he* has promised to those who love him.

²⁴ who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we may die to sins and live to righteousness, by whose wounds you were healed.

⁸ Above all, keep* your love for one another constant, because love covers a large number of sins.
