⁵ Therefore, what is Apollos and what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, and to each as the Lord gave.

¹⁵ And to one he gave five talents, and to another two, and to another one, to each one according to his own ability, and he went on a journey immediately.

² just as those who were eyewitnesses and servants of the word from the beginning passed on to us,

²⁷ John answered and said, "A man can receive not one thing unless it is granted to him from heaven!

¹⁴ How then will they call upon him in whom they have not believed? And how will they believe in him about whom they have not heard? And how will they hear about him without one who preaches to them? ¹⁵ And how will they preach, unless they are sent? Just as it is written, "How timely are the feet of those who bring good news of good things."*

³ For by the grace given to me I say to everyone who is among you not to think more highly of yourself than what one ought to think, but to think _⌊sensibly_⌋*, as God has apportioned a measure of faith to each one. ⁴ For just as in one body we have many members, but all the members do not have the same function, ⁵ in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ, and _⌊individually_⌋* members of one another, ⁶ but having different gifts according to the grace given to us: if it is prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith;

⁷ So then, neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who is causing it to grow.

¹⁰ According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building upon it. But each one must direct his attention to how he is building upon it.

¹ Thus let a person consider us as servants of Christ and stewards of God's mysteries. ² In this case, moreover, it is sought in stewards that one be found faithful.

¹⁷ For if I do this voluntarily, I have a reward, but if I do so unwillingly, I have been entrusted with a stewardship.

⁴ Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit, ⁵ and there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord, ⁶ and there are varieties of activities, but the same God, who works all things in all people. ⁷ But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for what is beneficial to all. ⁸ For to one is given a word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another a word of knowledge by the same Spirit, ⁹ to another faith by the same Spirit, to another* gifts of healing by the one Spirit, ¹⁰ to another* _⌊miraculous powers_⌋*, to another* prophecy, to another* distinguishing of spirits, to another kinds of tongues, to another* interpretation of tongues. ¹¹ But in all these things one and the same Spirit is at work, distributing to each one individually just as he wishes.

²⁸ and whom God has appointed in the church: first, apostles, second, prophets, third, teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helps, administrations, kinds of tongues.

³ revealing that you are a letter of Christ, delivered by us, inscribed not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on stone tablets but on tablets of human hearts.

⁶ who also makes us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit, for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

⁵ For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Christ Jesus* as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves for the sake of Jesus.

⁷ But we have this treasure in earthenware jars, in order that the extraordinary degree of the power may be from God and not from us.

¹ Now because we* are fellow workers, we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

⁴ but commending ourselves as servants of God in every way, in much endurance, in afflictions, in distresses, in difficulties,

²³ Are they servants of Christ?—I am speaking as though I were beside myself—I am more so, with far greater labors, with far more imprisonments, with beatings to a much greater degree, in danger of death many times.

⁷ of which I became a servant, according to the gift of God's grace given to me, according to the working of his power.

²⁵ of which I became a minister, according to God's stewardship which was given to me for you, to complete the word of God,

¹⁰ Just as each one has received a gift, use it for serving one another, as good stewards of the varied grace of God.
