¹² If others share this right over you, do we not do so even more? Yet we have not made use of this right, but we endure all things, in order that we may not cause any hindrance to the gospel of Christ.

⁵⁶ And he said to them, "Do not delay me. Now, Yahweh has made my journey successful. Let me go. I must go to my master."

⁸ So all of them plotted together to come fight against Jerusalem and to make trouble for it.

⁵² Woe to you, legal experts, because you have taken away the key to knowledge! You did not enter yourselves, and you hindered those who were entering!"

³ And because he was practicing the same trade, he stayed with them and worked, for they were tentmakers by trade.

³¹ Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for three years I did not stop warning each one of you* with tears. ³² "And now I entrust you to God and to the message of his grace, which is able to build you* up and to give you* the inheritance among all those who are sanctified. ³³ I have desired no one's silver or gold or clothing! ³⁴ You yourselves know that these hands served to meet* my needs and the needs of* those who were with me.

²² For this reason also I was hindered many times from coming to you,

¹¹ Until the present hour we are both hungry and thirsty and poorly clothed and roughly treated and homeless, ¹² and we toil, working with our own hands. When we are* reviled, we bless; when we are* persecuted, we endure;

¹⁴ I am not writing these things to shame you, but admonishing you as my dear children. ¹⁵ For if you have ten thousand guardians in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I fathered you through the gospel.

⁷ Therefore it is already completely a loss for you that you have lawsuits with one another. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded?

² If to others I am not an apostle, yet indeed I am to you, for you are my seal of apostleship in the Lord.

¹⁵ But I have not made use of any of these rights. And I am not writing these things in order that it may be thus with me. For it would be better to me rather to die than for anyone to deprive me of my reason for boasting.

¹⁸ What then is my reward? That when I* proclaim the gospel, I may offer the gospel free of charge, in order not to make full use of my right in the gospel.

³ We are giving no one an occasion for taking offense in anything, in order that our ministry will not have fault found with it,

⁷ Or did I commit a sin by* humbling myself in order that you may be exalted, because I proclaimed the gospel of God to you without payment? ⁸ I robbed other churches by* accepting support from them for the ministry to you. ⁹ And when I* was present with you and was in need, I did not burden anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied my need, and in everything I kept myself from being a burden to you, and will keep myself from being a burden. ¹⁰ As the truth of Christ is in me, this boasting _⌊of mine_⌋* will not be stopped in the regions of Achaia.

¹² But what I am doing, I will also do, in order that I may remove the opportunity of those who want an opportunity, that they may be found just as also we are in what they are boasting about.

²⁰ For you put up with it if someone enslaves you, if someone devours you, if someone takes advantage of you, if someone is presumptious toward you, if someone strikes you in the face.

¹³ _⌊For in what respect are you made worse off_⌋* more than the rest of the churches, except that I myself was not a burden to you? Forgive me this wrong! ¹⁴ Behold, this third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not be a burden to you. For I am not seeking your possessions, but you. For children are not obligated to save up for their parents, but parents for their children.

⁶ nor seeking glory from people, neither from you nor from others. ⁷ _⌊Although we could have insisted on our own importance_⌋** as apostles of Christ, yet we became infants in your midst, like a nursing mother cherishes her own children. ⁸ Longing for you in this way, we determined to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own souls, because you had become dear to us. ⁹ For you remember, brothers, our labor and hardship: working by night and day in order not to be a burden to any of you, we proclaimed to you the gospel of God.

⁸ nor did we eat bread from anyone without paying, but with toil and labor, we were working night and day in order not to be a burden to any of you, ⁹ not that we do not have the right, but so that we may give ourselves as an example to you, so that you may imitate us.
