²² Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for sincere brotherly love, love one another fervently from the heart,*

³⁴ "A new commandment I give to you: that you love one another—just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. ³⁵ By this everyone will know that you are my disciples—if you have love for one another."

³ You are already clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.

¹⁷ These things I command you: that you love one another.

¹⁷ Sanctify them in the truth—your word is truth.

¹⁹ And for them I sanctify myself, so that they themselves also may be sanctified in the truth.

⁷ And the word of God kept spreading, and the number of disciples in Jerusalem was increasing greatly, and a large number of priests began obeying* the faith.

⁹ And he made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.

⁵ through whom we have received grace and apostleship for the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles* on behalf of his name,

⁸ but to those who act from selfish ambition and who disobey the truth, but who obey unrighteousness, wrath and anger.

¹⁶ Do you not know that to whomever you present yourselves as slaves for obedience, you are slaves to whomever you obey, whether sin, leading to death, or obedience, leading to righteousness? ¹⁷ But thanks be to God that you were slaves of sin, but you have obeyed from the heart the pattern of teaching to which you were entrusted,

¹³ For if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

⁹ Love must be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; be attached to what is good, ¹⁰ being devoted to one another in brotherly love, esteeming one another more highly in honor,

⁶ in purity, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in love without hypocrisy,

¹ O foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as having been crucified?

⁵ For through the Spirit by faith we eagerly await the hope of righteousness.

⁷ You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?

³ being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace;

⁹ And this I pray: that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment,

¹² and may the Lord cause you to increase and to abound in love for one another and for all, just as also we do for you,

⁸ Therefore the one who rejects this is not rejecting man, but God, who also gives his Holy Spirit to you. ⁹ But concerning brotherly love, I do not have need to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another,

³ We ought to give thanks to God always concerning you, brothers, just as it is fitting, because your faith is flourishing and the love of each one of you all toward one another is increasing

¹³ But we ought to give thanks to God always concerning you, brothers dearly loved by the Lord, because God has chosen you as first fruits for salvation by the sanctification of the Spirit and faith in the truth,

³ Just as I urged you when I* traveled to Macedonia, remain in Ephesus, so that you may instruct certain people not to teach other doctrine,

⁵ But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a faith without hypocrisy,

¹² Let no one look down on your youth, but be an example for the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

² older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, with all purity.

¹⁴ Guard the good deposit through the Holy Spirit who lives in us.

⁹ and being perfected, he became the source of eternal salvation to all those who obey him,

¹⁰ For God is not unjust, so as to forget your work and the love which you demonstrated for his name by* having served the saints, and continuing to serve them.

¹⁴ how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to serve the living God?

⁸ By faith Abraham, when he* was called, obeyed to go out to a place that he was going to receive for an inheritance, and he went out, not knowing where he was going.

¹ Brotherly love must continue.

¹⁵ If a brother or a sister is poorly clothed and lacking food for the day, ¹⁶ and one of you should say to them, "Go in peace, keep warm and _⌊eat well_⌋*," but does not give them what is necessary for the body, what is the benefit?

⁸ Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded!

¹⁷ Honor all people, love the community of believers, fear God, honor the king.*

¹ In the same way, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some are disobedient to the word, they may be won over without a word by the conduct of their wives,

⁸ And finally, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, showing mutual affection, compassionate, humble,

⁸ Above all, keep* your love for one another constant, because love covers a large number of sins.

¹⁷ For it is the time for the judgment to begin out from the household of God. But if it begins out from us first, what will be the outcome for those who are disobedient to the gospel of God?

⁷ and with godliness, brotherly love, and with brotherly love, love.

¹¹ For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning: that we should love one another,

¹⁴ We know that we have passed over from death to life because we love the brothers. The one who does not love remains in death. ¹⁵ Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that every murderer does not have eternal life residing in him. ¹⁶ We have come to know love by this: that _⌊he_⌋* laid down his life on behalf of us, and we ought to lay down our lives on behalf of the brothers. ¹⁷ But whoever has the world's material possessions and observes his brother _⌊in need_⌋* and shuts his heart against him, how does the love of God reside in him? ¹⁸ Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth. ¹⁹ By this* we know that we are of the truth and will convince our heart before him,

²³ And this is his commandment: that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as _⌊he commanded us_⌋*.

⁷ Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been fathered by God and knows God.

¹² No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God resides in us and his love is perfected in us.

²⁰ If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar, for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen is not able to love God whom he has not seen.

⁴ But I have this against you: that you have left your first love.
