²³ So he went there to Naioth in Ramah and the Spirit of God came upon him also, and _⌊he walked along prophesying_⌋* until he came to Naioth in Ramah. ²⁴ He also stripped off his clothes and prophesied before Samuel. ¹⁴ Now David was dancing with all his might before Yahweh, and David was wearing* a linen ephod.

¹⁶ It happened that when the ark of Yahweh came into the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked down through the window and saw King David leaping and dancing before Yahweh, and she despised him in her heart.

¹⁸ When David had finished from the sacrificing of the burnt offerings and the fellowship offerings, he blessed the people in the name of Yahweh of hosts.

⁴³ Then all the people went each to his house, and David turned to bless his household.

³ Tobiah the Ammonite was beside him and said, "Their wall of stone that they are building would break down if a fox went on it!" ⁴ Hear, our God, for we are despised. Turn their scorn on their head and give them over to plunder in the land of captivity.

⁸ _⌊A senseless crowd_⌋,* yes, _⌊a disreputable brood_⌋,* they were cast out from the land.

¹ A psalm; a song for the dedication of the house.* Of David.*
I will exalt you, O Yahweh, because you have drawn me up, and have not made my enemies rejoice over me.

⁷ Because on account of you I have borne reproach; disgrace has covered my face. ⁸ I have become a stranger to my brothers and a foreigner to my mother's sons, ⁹ because the zeal for your house* has consumed me, and the reproaches of those reproaching you have fallen on me.

² I will give attention to the way of integrity. When will you come to me? I will walk in the integrity of my heart in the midst of my house.

² For* he went* up like a shoot before him, and like a root from dry ground. He had no form and no majesty that* we should see him, and no appearance that* we should take pleasure in him. ³ He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering, and acquainted with* sickness, and like _⌊one from whom others hide their faces_⌋,* he was despised, and we did not hold him in high regard.

²¹ And when* _⌊his family_⌋* heard this,* they went out to restrain him, for they were saying, "He has lost his mind!"

⁶ Then he came to Simon Peter. He said to him, "Lord, are you going to wash my feet?"

¹⁰ We are fools for the sake of Christ, but you are prudent in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, but we are dishonored! ¹¹ Until the present hour we are both hungry and thirsty and poorly clothed and roughly treated and homeless, ¹² and we toil, working with our own hands. When we are* reviled, we bless; when we are* persecuted, we endure; ¹³ when we are* slandered, we encourage. We have become like the refuse of the world, the offscouring of all things, until now.

⁷ but emptied himself by* taking the form of a slave, by* becoming in the likeness of people. And being found in appearance like a man, ⁸ he humbled himself by* becoming obedient to the point of death, that is, death on a cross.
