⁷ to which our twelve tribes hope to attain as they earnestly serve him* night and day. Concerning this hope I am being accused by the Jews, O king!

¹⁷ And they offered during the dedication of this house of God one hundred young bulls, two hundred young rams, four hundred lambs, and twelve male goats as a sin offering for Israel according to the number of the tribes of Israel.

³⁵ The exiles that returned from captivity offered burnt offerings to the God of Israel; twelve bulls for all Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-seven lambs, and twelve goats as a sin offering. All was a burnt offering to Yahweh.

Look, bless Yahweh, all you the servants of Yahweh, who _⌊serve_⌋* in the house* of Yahweh by night. ² Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless Yahweh.

² who stand in the house* of Yahweh, in the courts of the house* of our God.

²⁸ And Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you that in the renewal of the world,* when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me—you also will sit on twelve thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

²⁵ And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem _⌊whose name was_⌋* Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, looking forward to the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

³⁶ And there was a prophetess, Anna the daughter of Phanuel of the tribe of Asher (she was advanced _⌊in years_⌋,* having lived with her husband seven years _⌊after her marriage_⌋,* ³⁷ and herself as a widow up to eighty-four years)* who did not depart from the temple with fastings and prayers, serving night and day. ³⁸ And at that same hour she approached and* began to give thanks* to God, and to speak about him to all those who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.

¹⁹ sent them* to the Lord,* saying, "Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?" ²⁰ And when* the men came to him, they said, "John the Baptist sent us to you, saying, 'Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?'"

³⁰ that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

³¹ Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for three years I did not stop warning each one of you* with tears.

¹⁰ night and day praying beyond all measure that we may see your face and complete what is lacking in your faith?

⁵ But the widow who is one truly, and is left alone, has put her hope in God and continues in her petitions and prayers night and day.

from the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand,
from the tribe of Manasseh, twelve thousand, ⁷ from the tribe of Simeon,* twelve thousand,
from the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand,
from the tribe of Issachar, twelve thousand, ⁸ from the tribe of Zebulun, twelve thousand,
