¹ Paul, an apostle not from men nor by men but through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised him from the dead, ² and all the brothers with me, to the churches of Galatia. ³ Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ,* ⁴ who gave himself for our sins in order to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, ⁵ to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. ⁶ I am astonished that you are turning away so quickly from the one who called you by the grace of Christ to a different gospel, ⁷ not that there is a different gospel, except there are some who are disturbing you and wanting to distort the gospel of Christ. ⁸ But even if we or an angel from heaven should proclaim a gospel to you contrary to what we proclaimed to you, let him be accursed! ⁹ As we said before, and now I say again, if anyone is proclaiming a gospel to you contrary to what you have received, let him be accursed! ¹⁰ For am I now making an appeal to people or to God? Or am I seeking to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a slave of Christ. ¹¹ For I make known to you, brothers, the gospel that has been proclaimed by me, that it is not _⌊of human origin_⌋*. ¹² For neither did I receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. ¹³ For you have heard about my former way of life in Judaism, that to an extraordinary degree I was persecuting the church of God, and trying to destroy it, ¹⁴ and was progressing in Judaism beyond many contemporaries in my nation, because* I was a far more zealous adherent of the traditions handed down by my forefathers. ¹⁵ But when the one who set me apart* from my mother's womb and called me by his grace was pleased ¹⁶ to reveal his Son in me in order that I would proclaim the gospel about him among the Gentiles, immediately I did not consult with flesh and blood, ¹⁷ nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away to Arabia and I returned again to Damascus. ¹⁸ Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to become acquainted with Cephas, and I stayed with him fifteen days, ¹⁹ but I did not see any others of the apostles except James, the brother of the Lord. ²⁰ (Now the things which I am writing to you, behold, I assure you before God that I am not lying.) ²¹ Then I came to the regions of Syria and of Cilicia, ²² but I was unknown _⌊in person_⌋* to the churches of Judea that are in Christ, ²³ and they were only hearing, "The one formerly persecuting us is now proclaiming the faith that formerly he was attempting to destroy," ²⁴ and they were glorifying God because of me.

¹⁸ And Jesus approached and* spoke to them, saying, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. ¹⁹ Therefore, go* and* make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰ teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the age."

¹⁹ So Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly, truly I say to you, the Son can do nothing from himself except what he sees the Father doing. For whatever that one does, these things also the Son does likewise.

³⁰ The Father and I are one."

²¹ So Jesus said to them again, "Peace to you. As the Father has sent me, I also send you."

¹⁶ "Men and brothers, it was necessary that the scripture be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit proclaimed beforehand through the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus, ¹⁷ because he was counted among us and received a share in this ministry." ¹⁸ (Now this man acquired a field for the wages of his wickedness, and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his intestines spilled out. ¹⁹ And it became known to all who live in Jerusalem, so that that field was called in their own language* "Akeldama," that is, "Field of Blood.") ²⁰ "For it is written in the book of Psalms,
'Let his residence become deserted, and let there be no one to live in it,'*
and,
'Let another person take his position.'* ²¹ Therefore it is necessary for one of the men who have accompanied us during all the time in which the Lord Jesus went in and went out among us, ²² beginning from the baptism of John until the day on which he was taken up from us—one of these men must become a witness of his resurrection together with us." ²³ And they proposed two men, Joseph called Barsabbas (who was called Justus) and Matthias. ²⁴ And they prayed and* said, "You, Lord, who know the hearts of all, show clearly which one of these two you have chosen ²⁵ to take the place in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to depart to his own place." ²⁶ And they cast lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was added to serve* with the eleven apostles.

²⁴ God raised _⌊him_⌋* up, having brought to an end the pains of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. ²⁵ For David says with reference to him,
'I saw the Lord before me _⌊continually_⌋,* for he is at my right hand so that I will not be shaken. ²⁶ For this reason my heart was glad and my tongue rejoiced greatly, furthermore also my flesh will live in hope, ²⁷ because you will not abandon my soul in Hades, nor will you permit your Holy One to experience decay. ²⁸ You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with gladness with your presence.'* ²⁹ "Men and brothers, it is possible to speak with confidence to you about the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us until this day. ³⁰ Therefore, because he* was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to seat _⌊one of his descendants_⌋* on his throne, ³¹ by* having foreseen this,* he spoke about the resurrection of the Christ,* that neither was he abandoned in Hades nor did his flesh experience decay. ³² This Jesus God raised up, of which* we all are witnesses.

¹⁵ And you killed the originator of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses!

⁶ But get up and enter into the city, and it will be told to you _⌊what you must do_⌋."*

¹⁵ But the Lord said to him, "Go, because this man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before Gentiles* and kings and the sons of Israel. ¹⁶ For I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name."

² And while* they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart now for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." ³ Then, after they* had fasted and prayed and placed their* hands on them, they sent them* away. ⁴ Therefore, sent out by the Holy Spirit, they came down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed away to Cyprus.

¹⁰ So I said, 'What should I do, Lord?' And the Lord said to me, 'Get up and* proceed to Damascus, and there it will be told to you about all the things that have been appointed for you to do.'

¹⁴ And he said, 'The God of our fathers has appointed you to know his will, and to see the Righteous One and to hear a voice from his mouth, ¹⁵ because you will be a witness for him* to all people of what you have seen and heard. ¹⁶ And now why are you delaying? Get up, be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on his name!' ¹⁷ "And it happened that when* I returned to Jerusalem and I was praying in the temple courts,* I was in a trance, ¹⁸ and saw him saying to me, 'Hurry and depart _⌊quickly_⌋* from Jerusalem, because they will not accept your testimony about me.' ¹⁹ And I said, 'Lord, they themselves know that from synagogue to synagogue I was imprisoning and beating those who believed in you. ²⁰ And when the blood of your witness Stephen was being shed, I myself also was standing near and was approving, and was guarding the cloaks of those who were killing him.' ²¹ And he said to me, 'Go, because I will send you far away to the Gentiles!'"

¹⁶ But get up and stand on your feet, because for this reason I have appeared to you, to appoint you a servant and witness both to the things in which you saw me and to the things in which I will appear to you, ¹⁷ rescuing you from the people and from the Gentiles to whom I am sending you, ¹⁸ to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'

¹ Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,

⁴ who was declared Son of God in power according to _⌊the Holy Spirit_⌋* by the resurrection from the dead of Jesus Christ our Lord, ⁵ through whom we have received grace and apostleship for the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles* on behalf of his name,

²⁴ but also for the sake of us to whom it is going to be credited, to those who believe in the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead, ²⁵ who was handed over on account of our trespasses, and was raised up in the interest of our justification.*

⁹ that* if you confess with your mouth "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

⁹ For Christ died and became alive again for this reason, in order that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

¹ Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we, like some, need letters of recommendation to you or from you? ² You are our letter, inscribed on our hearts, known and read by all people, ³ revealing that you are a letter of Christ, delivered by us, inscribed not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on stone tablets but on tablets of human hearts.

¹¹ For I make known to you, brothers, the gospel that has been proclaimed by me, that it is not _⌊of human origin_⌋*. ¹² For neither did I receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

¹⁷ nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away to Arabia and I returned again to Damascus.

¹⁹ and what is the surpassing greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his mighty strength ²⁰ which he has worked* in Christ, raising* him from the dead and seating him* at his right hand in the heavenly places,

⁸ To me, the least of all the saints, was given this grace: to proclaim the good news of the fathomless riches of Christ to the Gentiles,

¹¹ according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God that I was entrusted with. ¹² _⌊I give thanks_⌋* to the one who strengthens me, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he considered me faithful, placing me into ministry,* ¹³ although I* was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, but I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief, ¹⁴ and the grace of our Lord abounded with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

¹ Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,

³ but at the proper time has disclosed his message in the proclamation with which I was entrusted according to the command of God our Savior,

²⁰ Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant,

²¹ who through him are believing in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

⁵ and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead and the ruler of the kings of the earth.
To the one who loves us and released us from our sins by his blood

¹⁸ and the one who lives, and I was dead, and behold, I am living _⌊forever and ever_⌋*, and I hold the keys of death and of Hades.

⁸ "And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write:
"This is what the first and the last says, who was dead and came to life:

³¹ Then the church throughout all of Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, being strengthened. And living in the fear of the Lord and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, it was increasing in numbers.*

⁴¹ And he traveled through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.

⁵ So the churches were being strengthened in the faith and were growing in number every day. ⁶ And they traveled through the Phrygian and Galatian region, having been prevented by the Holy Spirit from speaking the message in Asia.*

²³ And after* spending some time there, he departed, traveling through one place after another in the Galatian region and Phrygia, strengthening all the disciples.

¹ Now concerning the collection for the saints: just as I gave directions about it to the churches of Galatia, so you do also.

²² But you know his proven character, that like a child with a father he served with me for the gospel.

²¹ Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers with me greet you.

⁷ To all those in Rome who are loved by God, called to be saints. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. ⁸ First, I give thanks to my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being proclaimed in the whole world. ⁹ For God, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, is my witness, how constantly I make mention of you, ¹⁰ always asking in my prayers if somehow now at last I may succeed to come to you in the will of God. ¹¹ For I desire to see you, in order that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, in order to strengthen you, ¹² that is, to be encouraged together with you through _⌊our mutual faith_⌋*, both yours and mine. ¹³ Now I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, that often I intended to come to you, and was prevented until now, in order that I might have some fruit among you also, just as also among the rest of the Gentiles.* ¹⁴ I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish. ¹⁵ Thus _⌊I am eager_⌋* to proclaim the gospel also to you who are in Rome.

⁸ 'I delight to do your will, O my God, and your law is _⌊deep within me_⌋.'"*

¹⁷ For look! I am about to create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered, and they shall not _⌊come to mind_⌋.*

⁹ Therefore you pray in this way:
"Our Father who is in heaven, may your name be treated as holy.

²⁸ just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

²⁸ for this is my blood of the covenant which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

⁴² Again for the second time he went away and* prayed, saying, "My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, your will must be done."

⁴⁵ For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

¹⁹ And he took bread, and* after* giving thanks, he broke it* and gave it* to them, saying, "This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me."

⁴² saying, "Father, if you are willing, take away this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will but yours be done."
