⁷ The Jews replied to him, "We have a law, and according to the law he ought to die, because he made himself out to be the Son of God!"

¹⁶ And he who blasphemes Yahweh's name certainly shall be put to death; the whole community certainly shall stone him. As the alien, so the native shall be put to death at blaspheming his name.

²⁰ However, the prophet that behaves presumptuously by speaking a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, and who speaks in the name of other gods, then that prophet shall die.'

⁶³ But Jesus was silent. And the high priest said to him, "I put you under oath by the living God, that you tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God!" ⁶⁴ Jesus said to him, "You have said it.* But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power* and coming on the clouds of heaven." ⁶⁵ Then the high priest tore his robes, saying, "He has blasphemed! What further need do we have of witnesses? Behold, you have just now heard the blasphemy! ⁶⁶ What do you think?" And they answered and* said, "_⌊He deserves death_⌋!"*

⁴² "He saved others; he is not able to save himself! He is the king of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him! ⁴³ He trusts in God; let him deliver him now if he wants to,* because he said, 'I am the Son of God'!"

⁶¹ But he was silent and did not reply anything. Again the high priest asked him and said to him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?" ⁶² And Jesus said, "I am, and you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power* and coming with the clouds of heaven." ⁶³ And the high priest tore his clothes and* said, "What further need do we have of witnesses? ⁶⁴ You have heard the blasphemy! What _⌊do you think_⌋?"* And they all condemned him _⌊as deserving death_⌋.*

³⁹ And when* the centurion who was standing opposite him saw that he expired like this, he said, "Truly this man was God's Son!"

¹⁸ So on account of this the Jews were seeking even more to kill him, because he not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God his own Father, thus* making himself equal with God.

⁵⁸ Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly I say to you, before Abraham was, I am!" ⁵⁹ Then they picked up stones in order to throw them* at him. But Jesus was hidden and went out of the temple courts.*

³⁰ The Father and I are one." ³¹ Then* the Jews picked up stones again so that they could stone him. ³² Jesus answered them, "I have shown you many good deeds from the Father. For which one of them are you going to stone me?" ³³ The Jews answered him, "We are not going to stone you concerning a good deed, but concerning blasphemy, and because you, although you* are a man, make yourself to be God!"

³⁶ do you say about he whom the Father set apart and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'? ³⁷ If I do not do the deeds of my Father, do not believe me. ³⁸ But if I am doing them,* even if you do not believe me, believe the deeds, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father."

⁴ who was declared Son of God in power according to _⌊the Holy Spirit_⌋* by the resurrection from the dead of Jesus Christ our Lord,
