³⁸ And you do not have his word residing in yourselves, because the one whom that one sent, in this one you do not believe.

⁶ And these words that I am commanding you _⌊today_⌋* shall be on* your heart.* ⁷ And you shall recite them to your children, and you shall talk about them at the time of your living in your house and at the time of your going on the road and at the time of your lying down and at the time of your rising up. ⁸ And you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as an emblem between your eyes. ⁹ And you shall write them on the doorframe of your house and on your gates.

⁸ The scroll of this law will not depart from your mouth; you will meditate on it day and night so that _⌊you may observe diligently all that is written_⌋* in it. For then you will succeed in your ways and prosper.

¹¹ In my heart I have hidden your word,* so that I may not sin against you.

¹ My child, if you will receive* my sayings, and hide my commands with you, ² in order to incline your ear toward wisdom, then you shall apply your heart to understanding.

¹ My child, guard my sayings; store my commandments with you. ² Keep my commands and live, and my teaching like the _⌊apple of your eye_⌋.*

⁷ Thus says Yahweh, the redeemer of Israel, his holy one,
to the one who despises* life, to the one who abhors the nation, to the slave of rulers: "Kings shall see and stand up; princes, and they shall bow down, for the sake of Yahweh, who is faithful, the holy one of Israel, and he has chosen you."

¹ Who has believed our message, and to whom has the arm of Yahweh been revealed? ² For* he went* up like a shoot before him, and like a root from dry ground. He had no form and no majesty that* we should see him, and no appearance that* we should take pleasure in him. ³ He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering, and acquainted with* sickness, and like _⌊one from whom others hide their faces_⌋,* he was despised, and we did not hold him in high regard.

¹¹ He came to his own things, and his own people did not receive him.

¹⁷ For God did not send his Son into the world in order that he should judge* the world, but in order that the world should be saved through him. ¹⁸ The one who believes in him is not judged,* but the one who does not believe has already been judged,* because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God. ¹⁹ And this is the judgment: that the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil. ²⁰ For everyone who practices evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds be exposed. ²¹ But the one who practices the truth comes to the light, in order that his deeds may be revealed, that they are done in God.

⁴² but I know you, that you do not have the love of God in yourselves. ⁴³ I have come in my Father's name, and you do not accept me. If another should come in his own name, you would accept that one!

⁴⁶ For if you had believed Moses, you would believe me, for that one wrote about me. ⁴⁷ But if you do not believe that one's writings, how will you believe my words?"

³⁷ I know that you are descendants of Abraham. But you are seeking to kill me, because my word makes no progress among you.

⁴⁶ Who among you convicts me concerning sin? If I am telling the truth, _⌊why_⌋* do you not believe me? ⁴⁷ The one who is from God listens to the words of God. Because of this you do not listen—because you are not of God."

⁴⁴ But Jesus cried out and said, "The one who believes in me does not believe in me, but in the one who sent me, ⁴⁵ and the one who sees me sees the one who sent me. ⁴⁶ I have come as a light into the world, in order that everyone who believes in me will not remain in the darkness. ⁴⁷ And if anyone hears my words and does not observe them,* I will not judge him. For I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world. ⁴⁸ The one who rejects me and does not accept my words has one who judges him; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.

⁷ If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you.

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another with all wisdom, with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God,

²¹ Therefore, putting aside all moral uncleanness and wicked excess, welcome* with humility the implanted message which is able to save your souls. ²² But be doers of the message and not hearers only,* deceiving yourselves,

¹⁴ I have written to you, children, because* you have known the Father. I have written to you, fathers, because* you have known the One who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because* you are strong, and the word of God resides in you, and you have conquered the evil one.
