¹ Then* Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, ² "Speak to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* saying, 'When a woman becomes pregnant and she gives birth to a male,* then* she shall be unclean seven days—as in the time of her menstrual bleeding, she shall become unclean. ³ And on the eighth day his foreskin's flesh shall be circumcised. ⁴ And for thirty-three days she shall stay in the blood of her cleansing; she must not touch any holy object, and she may not come to the sanctuary until the fulfilling of the days of her cleansing. ⁵ But* if she gives birth to a female,* then* she shall be unclean for two weeks as in her menstruation, and for sixty-six days she shall stay _⌊through_⌋* the blood of her cleansing. ⁶ And at the fulfilling of the days of her cleansing, whether for a son or for a daughter, she must bring to the priest at the tent of assembly's entrance a _⌊yearling_⌋* male lamb as a burnt offering and _⌊young dove_⌋* or a turtledove as a sin offering. ⁷ And the priest shall present it _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh, and he shall make atonement for her, so that* she shall be clean from the flow of her blood. This is the regulation of childbearing* for the male* or for the female.* ⁸ And if _⌊she cannot afford_⌋* a sheep,* then* she shall take two turtledoves or two _⌊young doves_⌋*—one as a burnt offering and one as a sin offering—and the priest shall make atonement for her, so that* she shall be clean.'"

²⁸ And God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it, and rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of heaven,* and over every animal that moves upon the earth."

¹⁶ To the woman he said,
"I will greatly increase _⌊your pain in childbearing_⌋;* in pain you shall bear children. And to your husband shall be your desire. And he shall rule over you."

¹⁹ " 'And when a woman _⌊is menstruating_⌋,* her body fluid discharge occurs in* her body; for seven days she shall be in her menstruation, and any person who touches her shall become unclean until the evening.

¹⁹ " 'And you must not _⌊have sex with_⌋* a woman to expose her nakedness _⌊during_⌋* her menstrual uncleanness.

⁴ "Who can bring a clean thing from an unclean thing? No one!*

¹⁴ "What is a human being, that he can be clean, or* that one born of a woman can be righteous?

⁴ "Indeed,* how can a human being be righteous before God? And how will he who is born of a woman be pure?

⁵ Behold, in iniquity I was born, and in sin my mother conceived me.

²² And when the days of their purification were completed according to the law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him* to the Lord

¹² Because of this, just as sin entered into the world through one man, and death through sin, so also death spread to all people because all sinned. ¹³ For until the law, sin was in the world, but sin is not charged to one's account when there* is no law. ¹⁴ But death reigned from Adam until Moses even over those who did not sin in the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of the one who is to come. ¹⁵ _⌊But the gift is not like the trespass_⌋*, for if by the trespass of the one, the many died, by much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, multiply to the many. ¹⁶ And the gift is not as through the one who sinned, for on the one hand, judgment from the one sin led to condemnation, but the gift, from many trespasses, led to justification. ¹⁷ For if by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through the one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ. ¹⁸ Consequently therefore, as through one trespass came condemnation to all people, so also through one righteous deed came justification of life to all people. ¹⁹ For just as through the disobedience of the one man, the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one, the many will be made righteous.

¹¹ And you shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and you. ¹² And _⌊at eight days of age_⌋* you shall yourselves circumcise every male belonging to your generations and _⌊the servant born in your house and the one bought from any foreigner_⌋* who is not from your offspring.

⁶ "And Yahweh your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring to love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your inner self* _⌊so that you may live_⌋.*

⁵⁹ And it happened that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they were wanting to name him _⌊after_⌋* his father Zechariah.

²¹ And when eight days were completed _⌊so that he could be circumcised_⌋,* he was named Jesus, his name that he was called by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

²² Because of this Moses has given you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath. ²³ If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses would not be broken, are you angry with me because I made a whole man well* on the Sabbath?

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever the law says, it speaks to those under the law, in order that every mouth may be closed and the whole world may become accountable to God.

¹¹ And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal* of the righteousness by faith which he had _⌊while uncircumcised_⌋*, so that he could be the father of all who believe _⌊although they are uncircumcised_⌋*, so that righteousness could be credited to them,* ¹² and the father _⌊of those who are circumcised_⌋* to those who are not only from the circumcision, but who also follow in the footsteps of the faith of our father Abraham _⌊which he had while uncircumcised_⌋*.

¹⁷ Now I am saying this: the law, that came after four hundred and thirty years, does not revoke a covenant previously ratified by God, in order to nullify the promise.

³ And again I testify to every man who becomes circumcised, that he is under obligation to keep the whole law.

⁵ _⌊circumcised on the eighth day_⌋*, from the nation of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew born from Hebrews, according to the law a Pharisee,

¹¹ in whom also you were circumcised with a circumcision not made by hands, by the removal of the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,

²⁵ " 'And when a woman discharges a body fluid consisting of her blood for many days, but not at the time of her menstruation, or when she discharges in addition to* her menstruation, all the days of her unclean body fluid discharge she shall become unclean as in the days of her menstruation. ²⁶ Any bed on which she lies during all the days of her body fluid discharge shall become for her as her bed of menstruation, and any object on which she sits becomes unclean as her menstruation's uncleanness. ²⁷ And any person who touches them becomes unclean, and he shall wash his garments, and he shall wash himself* with water, and he shall be unclean until the evening. ²⁸ " 'And if she is clean from her body fluid discharge, then* she shall count for herself seven days, and afterward she becomes clean.

¹³ Then Haggai said, "If one who is unclean from contact with a corpse touches any of these, will it become unclean?" The priests answered, "Yes, it will be become unclean."

²² And when the days of their purification were completed according to the law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him* to the Lord ²³ (just as it is written in the law of the Lord, "Every male that opens the womb will be called holy to the Lord")*

¹³ Then* Yahweh God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" And the woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."

² "Speak to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* saying, 'When a woman becomes pregnant and she gives birth to a male,* then* she shall be unclean seven days—as in the time of her menstrual bleeding, she shall become unclean.

⁴ And for thirty-three days she shall stay in the blood of her cleansing; she must not touch any holy object, and she may not come to the sanctuary until the fulfilling of the days of her cleansing.

¹⁴ and Adam was not deceived, but the woman, because she* was deceived, came into transgression. ¹⁵ But she will be saved through the bearing of children, if she continues in faith and love and holiness with self-control.

¹⁰ " 'But if his offering is from the flock,* from the sheep or from the goats for a burnt offering, he must present* an unblemished* male. ¹¹ He* must slaughter it on the north side of the altar _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh; then* Aaron's sons, the priests, will sprinkle its blood all around the altar. ¹² Then* he must cut it into pieces along with its head and its suet; and the priest will arrange them on the wood that is on the fire that is on the altar. ¹³ Then* he must wash the inner parts* and the lower leg bones with water and the priest shall present the whole animal and will turn it* into smoke on the altar; it is a burnt offering by fire as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh.

⁶ and he shall bring his guilt offering to* Yahweh for his sin that he has _⌊committed_⌋:* a female from the flock,* a ewe-lamb or _⌊a she-goat_⌋,* as a sin offering, and the priest shall make atonement for him for* his sin. ⁷ " 'If* _⌊he cannot afford a sheep_⌋,* he shall bring as his guilt offering for what he sinned two turtledoves or two _⌊young doves_⌋* for Yahweh, one for a sin offering and one for a burnt offering. ⁸ He shall bring* them to the priest, and he shall present that which is for the sin offering first, and the priest* shall wring its head off _⌊at the back of its neck_⌋,* but* he must not sever it, ⁹ and he shall spatter _⌊some of_⌋* the sin offering's blood on the altar's side, and the leftover blood must be drained out on the altar's base; it is a sin offering. ¹⁰ The second* bird he must prepare as a burnt offering according to the regulation, and the priest shall make atonement for him for his sin that he has _⌊committed_⌋,* and he shall be forgiven.

²² and two turtledoves or two _⌊young doves_⌋* that _⌊he can afford_⌋,* and one shall be a sin offering and the _⌊other_⌋* a burnt offering.

¹⁴ Then* on the eighth day he shall take for himself two turtledoves or two _⌊young doves_⌋,* and he shall come _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh at the tent of assembly's entrance, and he shall give them to the priest.

²⁹ And on the eighth day she shall take for herself two turtledoves or two _⌊young doves_⌋,* and she shall bring them to the priest at the tent of assembly's entrance.

¹⁰ On the eighth day he will bring two turtledoves or two _⌊young pigeons_⌋* to the priest by the doorway of the tent of assembly,

²⁹ On the next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, "Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

²¹ He made the one who did not know sin to be sin on our behalf, in order that we could become the righteousness of God in him.

²⁶ For a high priest such as this indeed is fitting for us, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and having become exalted above the heavens,

¹⁸ because you* know that you were redeemed from your futile way of life inherited from your ancestors not with perishable things like silver or gold, ¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb

⁴ " 'He* must lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering and it will be accepted* for him in order to make atonement for him.

²⁰ He shall do* to the bull _⌊just as_⌋* he did to the sin offering's bull, so he must do to it. The priest* shall make atonement for them, and _⌊they will be forgiven_⌋.*

²⁶ He* must turn all of its fat into smoke on the altar like the fat of the fellowship offerings' sacrifice, and the priest shall make atonement for him _⌊because of_⌋* his sin, and _⌊he will be forgiven_⌋.*

³¹ He* must remove all of its fat _⌊just as_⌋* the fat was removed from* the fellowship offerings' sacrifice, and the priest shall turn it into smoke on the altar as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh. The priest* shall make atonement for him, and _⌊he will be forgiven_⌋.*

³⁵ He must remove* all of its fat _⌊just as_⌋* the lamb's fat from the fellowship offerings' sacrifice was removed, and the priest shall turn them into smoke on the altar upon Yahweh's offerings made by fire; and the priest shall make atonement for him because of* his sin that he _⌊committed_⌋,* and _⌊he will be forgiven_⌋.'"*

²⁸ " 'And if she is clean from her body fluid discharge, then* she shall count for herself seven days, and afterward she becomes clean. ²⁹ And on the eighth day she shall take for herself two turtledoves or two _⌊young doves_⌋,* and she shall bring them to the priest at the tent of assembly's entrance. ³⁰ And the priest shall _⌊sacrifice_⌋* the one as a sin offering and the _⌊other_⌋* as a burnt offering, and so the priest shall make atonement for her _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh from her unclean body fluid discharge.'

⁵ _⌊Then when_⌋* the days of the feast had run their course, _⌊Job would send_⌋,* and he would sanctify them. Thus* he would arise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of all of them, because Job thought,* "Perhaps my children have sinned and _⌊cursed_⌋* God in their heart." This is what Job used to do _⌊all the time_⌋.*

²³ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

²⁶ in the forbearance of God, for the demonstration of his righteousness in the present time, so that he should be just and the one who justifies the person by faith* in Jesus.

¹⁴ For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by his wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the brother, since otherwise your children are unclean, but now they are holy.

²⁸ There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

¹² and not by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, he entered once for all into the most holy place, obtaining eternal redemption. ¹³ For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a young cow sprinkled on those who are defiled sanctify them for the ritual purity of the flesh, ¹⁴ how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to serve the living God?

¹⁴ " 'But if his offering for Yahweh is a burnt offering from the birds, then he must present his offering from the turtledoves or from _⌊the young doves_⌋.*

⁷ " 'If* _⌊he cannot afford a sheep_⌋,* he shall bring as his guilt offering for what he sinned two turtledoves or two _⌊young doves_⌋* for Yahweh, one for a sin offering and one for a burnt offering.

²² And when the days of their purification were completed according to the law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him* to the Lord ²³ (just as it is written in the law of the Lord, "Every male that opens the womb will be called holy to the Lord")* ²⁴ and to offer a sacrifice according to what was stated in the law of the Lord, "a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons."*

⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that although he* was rich, for your sake he became poor, in order that you, by his poverty, may become rich.
