¹ Then* Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, ² "Speak to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* saying, 'If a person* sins by an unintentional wrong from any of Yahweh's commands that should not be _⌊violated_⌋,* and he _⌊violates_⌋* _⌊any of them_⌋*— ³ if the anointed priest sins, _⌊bringing guilt on the people_⌋,* then,* concerning the sin that he has _⌊committed_⌋,* he shall bring _⌊a young bull_⌋* without defect for Yahweh as a sin offering. ⁴ He shall bring* the bull to the tent of assembly's entrance before Yahweh, place* his hand on the bull's head, and slaughter the bull before Yahweh. ⁵ The anointed priest* shall take _⌊some of_⌋* the bull's blood and shall bring it to the tent of assembly, ⁶ and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood and shall spatter _⌊some of_⌋* the blood seven times before Yahweh in front of the sanctuary's curtain. ⁷ The priest* shall put _⌊some of_⌋* the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense before Yahweh, which is in the tent of assembly, and all the rest* of the bull's blood he must pour out on the base of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the entrance of the tent of assembly. ⁸ " 'He must remove* all the fat from the bull of the sin offering: the fat that covers the inner parts* and all of the fat that is on the inner parts,* ⁹ the two* kidneys and the fat that is on them, and the liver's lobe that he must remove in addition to the kidneys— ¹⁰ just as it is removed from the ox of the fellowship offerings' sacrifice—and the priest shall turn them into smoke on the altar of the burnt offering. ¹¹ But* the bull's skin and its meat, in addition to its head, _⌊its lower leg bones_⌋,* its* inner parts,* and its offal— ¹² he shall carry* all of the bull _⌊outside the camp_⌋* to a ceremonially clean place, to the fatty ashes' dump, and he shall burn it on wood in the fire; it must be burned up on the fatty ashes' dump. ¹³ " 'If* Israel's whole assembly did wrong unintentionally and the matter* was concealed from the assembly's eyes, and they acted* against _⌊any of_⌋* Yahweh's commands that should not be _⌊violated_⌋,* so that* they incur guilt, ¹⁴ when* the sin that they have _⌊committed_⌋* against that command* becomes known, the assembly* shall present _⌊a young bull_⌋* as a sin offering, and they shall bring it before the tent of assembly. ¹⁵ And the elders of the community shall place their hands on the bull's head before Yahweh, and he* shall slaughter the bull before Yahweh. ¹⁶ Then the anointed priest shall bring _⌊some of_⌋* the bull's blood to the tent of assembly, ¹⁷ and the priest shall dip his finger in* the blood and shall spatter it seven times before Yahweh in front of the curtain. ¹⁸ He must put* _⌊some of_⌋* the blood on the altar's horns before Yahweh _⌊in the tent of assembly_⌋,* and all the rest* of the blood he must pour out on the base of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the tent of assembly's entrance. ¹⁹ He must remove* all its fat from it, and he shall turn it into smoke on the altar. ²⁰ He shall do* to the bull _⌊just as_⌋* he did to the sin offering's bull, so he must do to it. The priest* shall make atonement for them, and _⌊they will be forgiven_⌋.* ²¹ He shall bring* the rest of* the bull _⌊outside the camp_⌋,* and he shall burn it _⌊just as_⌋* he burned the first bull; it is the sin offering for the assembly. ²² " 'When a leader sins and commits* an unintentional wrong against _⌊any of_⌋* the commands of Yahweh his God that should not be _⌊violated_⌋,* so that* he incurs guilt, ²³ or his sin he has _⌊committed_⌋* is made known to him, he shall bring* _⌊a male goat_⌋* without defect as his offering. ²⁴ He shall place* his hand on the he-goat's head and slaughter it in the place where he slaughtered the burnt offering before Yahweh; it is a sin offering. ²⁵ The priest* shall take _⌊some of_⌋* the sin offering's blood with his finger, and he shall put it on the horns of the altar of the burnt offering, and he must pour out the rest of* its blood on the base of the altar of the burnt offering. ²⁶ He* must turn all of its fat into smoke on the altar like the fat of the fellowship offerings' sacrifice, and the priest shall make atonement for him _⌊because of_⌋* his sin, and _⌊he will be forgiven_⌋.* ²⁷ " 'If* _⌊anyone_⌋* of the people of the land sins by an unintentional wrong by _⌊violating_⌋* one of Yahweh's commands that should not be _⌊violated_⌋,* so that* he incurs guilt, ²⁸ or his sin he has _⌊committed_⌋* is made known to him, he shall bring* as his offering _⌊a female goat without defect_⌋* as his offering for his sin that he _⌊committed_⌋.* ²⁹ He shall place* his hand on the sin offering's head and slaughter the sin offering in the place of the burnt offering. ³⁰ The priest* shall take _⌊some of_⌋* its blood with his finger, and he shall put it on the horns of the altar of the burnt offering, and he must pour out all the rest of* its blood on the altar's base. ³¹ He* must remove all of its fat _⌊just as_⌋* the fat was removed from* the fellowship offerings' sacrifice, and the priest shall turn it into smoke on the altar as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh. The priest* shall make atonement for him, and _⌊he will be forgiven_⌋.* ³² " 'But* if he brings a lamb as his offering for a sin offering, he must bring a female without defect. ³³ He shall place* his hand on the sin offering's head, and he shall slaughter it as a sin offering in the place where he slaughtered the burnt offering. ³⁴ The priest* shall take _⌊some of_⌋* the sin offering's blood with his finger, and he shall put it on the horns of the altar of the burnt offering, and he must pour out all the rest* of its blood on the altar's base. ³⁵ He must remove* all of its fat _⌊just as_⌋* the lamb's fat from the fellowship offerings' sacrifice was removed, and the priest shall turn them into smoke on the altar upon Yahweh's offerings made by fire; and the priest shall make atonement for him because of* his sin that he _⌊committed_⌋,* and _⌊he will be forgiven_⌋.'"*

⁹ And Abimelech called for Abraham and said to him, "What have you done to us? And how have I sinned against you that you brought upon me and upon my kingdom a great sin? You have done things to me that should not be done."

²⁷ " 'If* _⌊anyone_⌋* of the people of the land sins by an unintentional wrong by _⌊violating_⌋* one of Yahweh's commands that should not be _⌊violated_⌋,* so that* he incurs guilt,

¹⁵ "When a person* _⌊displays infidelity_⌋* and he sins in an unintentional wrong _⌊in any of_⌋* Yahweh's holy things, then* he shall bring his guilt offering to* Yahweh: a ram without defect from the flock* as a guilt offering by your valuation in silver shekels* according to the sanctuary shekel. ¹⁶ And he shall make restitution for what he sinned _⌊because of_⌋* a holy thing and shall add one-fifth of _⌊its value_⌋* onto it and shall give it to the priest. The priest* shall make atonement for him with the ram of the guilt offering, and he will be forgiven. ¹⁷ "If* a person* when he sins _⌊violates_⌋* one from all of Yahweh's commands that should not _⌊be violated_⌋,* but* he did not know, then* he is guilty and he shall bear his guilt. ¹⁸ He shall bring* to the priest a ram without defect from the flock* as a guilt offering by your valuation, and the priest shall make atonement for him because of his unintentional wrong (although* he himself did not know), and he will be forgiven.

²² " 'But if you go astray and you do not follow* all these commandments that Yahweh commanded to Moses, ²³ all that Yahweh commanded you by the hand of Moses* from the day that Yahweh commanded and beyond, throughout your generations,* ²⁴ and if it was done unintentionally _⌊without the knowledge_⌋* of the community, then the entire community must prepare one _⌊young bull_⌋* as a burnt offering, as a fragrance of appeasement for Yahweh, and its grain offering and its libation, according to the stipulation, and one male goat as a sin offering. ²⁵ The priest will make atonement for all of the community of the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and _⌊they will be forgiven_⌋* because it was unintentional; they will bring their offering, an offering made by fire for Yahweh, their sin offering _⌊before Yahweh_⌋* for their unintentional sin. ²⁶ All of the community of the _⌊Israelites_⌋* will be forgiven, as well as the alien that dwells in their midst, because the whole community was involved in the unintentional wrong. ²⁷ " 'If one person sins unintentionally, that person will present a female goat _⌊in its first year_⌋* as a sin offering. ²⁸ And the priest will make atonement for the person who _⌊sinned unintentionally_⌋* _⌊before Yahweh_⌋,* to make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven. ²⁹ For the native among the _⌊Israelites_⌋* and the alien that dwells in their midst, there will be one law for anyone who commits an unintentional wrong.

⁴ "Now this is the case of the manslayer who may flee there and live there who has killed his neighbor _⌊unintentionally_⌋,* and he did not hate him _⌊previously_⌋.*

²⁷ However, Jonathan had not heard about the oath of his father with the army, so he extended the end of the staff which was in his hand, and he dipped it into the honeycomb.* Then he put his hand to his mouth and his eyes gleamed.*

¹² Who can perceive his errors? Acquit me from hidden faults.

¹³ although I* was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, but I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief,

² being able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and led astray, since he himself also is surrounded by weakness,

⁷ but only the high priest enters into the second tent once a year, not without blood, which he offers on behalf of himself and the sins of the people committed in ignorance.

¹⁰ From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so!

⁷ And you will take the anointing oil and pour it on his head and anoint him.

¹⁴ And the flesh of the bull and its skin and its offal you will burn with fire outside the camp; it is a sin offering.

²¹ And you will take some of the blood that is on the altar and some of the anointing oil, and you will spatter it on Aaron and on his garments and on his sons and on his sons' garments with him, and he will be sacred, and his garments and his sons and his sons' garments with him.

¹⁰ And Aaron will make atonement on its horns one time in the year from the blood of the sin offering of the atonement; one time in the year he will make atonement on it throughout your generations; it is a most holy thing for Yahweh."

¹⁴ when* the sin that they have _⌊committed_⌋* against that command* becomes known, the assembly* shall present _⌊a young bull_⌋* as a sin offering, and they shall bring it before the tent of assembly.

⁶ and he shall bring his guilt offering to* Yahweh for his sin that he has _⌊committed_⌋:* a female from the flock,* a ewe-lamb or _⌊a she-goat_⌋,* as a sin offering, and the priest shall make atonement for him for* his sin.

¹² Then* he poured out _⌊part of_⌋* the anointing oil on Aaron's head—thus* he anointed him in order to consecrate him.

² and he said to Aaron, "Take for yourself _⌊a bull calf_⌋* as a sin offering and a ram as a burnt offering, without defect,* and present them _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh.

⁶ "And Aaron shall present the sin offering's bull, which is for himself, and so he shall make atonement for himself and for his family.

¹¹ "And Aaron shall present the sin offering's bull, which is for himself, and so he shall make atonement for himself and for his family; then* he shall slaughter the sin offering's bull, which is for himself.

¹⁰ " 'As for* the priest who is higher than his brothers, on whose head the oil of anointment is poured and _⌊he was ordained_⌋* to wear the garments, he shall not dishevel his head, and he shall not tear his garments. ¹¹ And he shall not go near any dead person, nor shall he make himself unclean for his father or* for his mother. ¹² And he shall not go out from the sanctuary, and he shall not profane his God's sanctuary, because the dedication of his God's oil of anointment is on him; I am Yahweh.

⁸ And they will take a _⌊young bull_⌋* and its grain offering of finely milled flour mixed with oil, and you will take a second _⌊young bull_⌋* as a sin offering.

³⁵ The exiles that returned from captivity offered burnt offerings to the God of Israel; twelve bulls for all Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-seven lambs, and twelve goats as a sin offering. All was a burnt offering to Yahweh.

¹⁹ And you must give to the Levitical priests who are from the offspring of Zadok, the ones coming near me," _⌊declares_⌋* the Lord Yahweh, "to serve me, a bull, _⌊a calf_⌋* as a sin offering.

³ For what was impossible for the law, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did. By* sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and concerning sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,

²¹ He made the one who did not know sin to be sin on our behalf, in order that we could become the righteousness of God in him.

³ and because of it he is obligated to offer sacrifices for sins _⌊for himself also, as well as for the people_⌋*.

²⁷ who does not _⌊need every day_⌋* like the former high priests to offer up sacrifices for his own sins and then for the sins of the people, because he did this once for all when he* offered up himself. ²⁸ For the law appoints men as high priests who have weakness, but the statement of the oath, after the law, appoints a Son, who is made perfect _⌊forever_⌋*.

¹⁰ "And you will bring the bull before the tent of assembly, and Aaron and his sons will lay their hands on the head of the bull. ¹¹ And you will slaughter the bull before Yahweh at the entrance of the tent of assembly.

³ If his offering is a burnt offering from the cattle,* then he must present* an unblemished male; he must present it at the door of the tent of assembly for his acceptance _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh. ⁴ " 'He* must lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering and it will be accepted* for him in order to make atonement for him.

²¹ And Aaron shall place his two hands on the living goat's head, and he shall confess over it all the _⌊Israelites_⌋'* iniquities and all their transgressions for all their sins, and he shall put them on the goat's head, and he shall send it* away into the desert _⌊with_⌋* a man standing ready.*

⁶ All of us have wandered about like sheep; we each have turned to his own way; and Yahweh let fall on him the iniquity of us all.

²⁶ "And after the sixty and two weeks an anointed one* shall be cut off, and _⌊he shall have nothing_⌋,* and the people of the coming leader will destroy the city and the sanctuary,* and its end will be with the flood and on to the end there shall be war; these desolations are determined.

¹⁸ For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, in order that he could bring you to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit,

¹⁶ Then the anointed priest shall bring _⌊some of_⌋* the bull's blood to the tent of assembly, ¹⁷ and the priest shall dip his finger in* the blood and shall spatter it seven times before Yahweh in front of the curtain.

¹⁴ And he shall take _⌊some of_⌋* the bull's blood, and he shall spatter it* with his finger on the atonement cover's surface on the eastern side, and _⌊before_⌋* the atonement cover he shall spatter _⌊some of_⌋* the blood with his finger seven times.

¹⁹ And he shall spatter _⌊some of_⌋* the blood on it seven times with his finger, and he shall cleanse it and consecrate* it from the _⌊Israelites_⌋'* impurities.

⁴ Then Eleazar the priest will take some of its blood on his finger and spatter it toward the mouth of the tent of assembly seven times.

⁷ But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

¹⁷ and the priest shall dip his finger in* the blood and shall spatter it seven times before Yahweh in front of the curtain.

²⁵ The priest* shall take _⌊some of_⌋* the sin offering's blood with his finger, and he shall put it on the horns of the altar of the burnt offering, and he must pour out the rest of* its blood on the base of the altar of the burnt offering.

³⁰ The priest* shall take _⌊some of_⌋* its blood with his finger, and he shall put it on the horns of the altar of the burnt offering, and he must pour out all the rest of* its blood on the altar's base.

³⁴ The priest* shall take _⌊some of_⌋* the sin offering's blood with his finger, and he shall put it on the horns of the altar of the burnt offering, and he must pour out all the rest* of its blood on the altar's base.

¹⁵ and he slaughtered it, and Moses took the blood and put* it with his finger on the altar's horns all around and purified the altar; then* he poured the blood out on the altar's base—thus* he consecrated it in order to make atonement for it.*

⁹ Then* Aaron's sons presented the blood to him, and he dipped his finger in the blood, and he put it on the altar's horns, and he poured out the blood on the altar's base.

¹⁶ and the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is on his left palm, and he shall spatter _⌊some of_⌋* the oil with his finger seven times _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh.

¹⁸ And the remaining oil that is on the priest's palm he shall put on the head of the one who presents himself for cleansing, and the priest shall make atonement for him _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh.

²⁷ and with his right finger the priest shall spatter _⌊some of_⌋* the oil that is on his left palm seven times _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh.

⁸ " 'And you* shall count for yourself seven Sabbaths of years, seven times seven years, and they shall be for you _⌊time periods of_⌋* years: _⌊forty-nine_⌋* years.

¹⁸ " 'And if in spite of these things you do not listen to me, then* I will continue to discipline you seven times for your sins.

²⁴ then* I myself* will also go against you in hostility, and I myself* also will strike you seven times for your sins.

²⁸ then* I will go against you in hostile anger, and also* I myself* will discipline you seven times for your sins.

⁴ And seven priests will bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark. On the seventh day you will march around the city seven times, and the priests will blow on the trumpets.

⁸ _⌊And when Joshua spoke_⌋* to the people, the seven priests carrying the seven trumpets of rams' horns before the presence of Yahweh went forward and they blew the trumpets; and the ark of the covenant of Yahweh followed behind them.

¹ "And you will make an altar for burning incense; you will make it of acacia wood, ² a cubit its length and a cubit its width—it will be square—and two cubits its height, its horns _⌊of one piece with it_⌋.* ³ And you will overlay it with pure gold, its top and its sides all around and its horns, and you will make for it a gold molding all around. ⁴ And you will make two gold rings for it; under its molding _⌊on two opposite sides_⌋* you will make them as _⌊holders_⌋* for poles to carry it with them. ⁵ You will make the poles of acacia wood, and you will overlay them with gold. ⁶ And you will put it before the curtain that is upon the ark of the testimony, before the atonement cover, which is on the testimony, there where I will meet with you. ⁷ "And on it Aaron will turn fragrant incense into smoke; _⌊each morning_⌋* when he tends the lamps, he will turn it into smoke. ⁸ And when Aaron sets up the lamps _⌊at twilight_⌋,* he will turn it into smoke—incense of continuity—before Yahweh throughout your generations. ⁹ You will not offer on it strange incense or a burnt offering or a grain offering, and you will not pour a libation on it. ¹⁰ And Aaron will make atonement on its horns one time in the year from the blood of the sin offering of the atonement; one time in the year he will make atonement on it throughout your generations; it is a most holy thing for Yahweh."

¹⁸ He must put* _⌊some of_⌋* the blood on the altar's horns before Yahweh _⌊in the tent of assembly_⌋,* and all the rest* of the blood he must pour out on the base of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the tent of assembly's entrance.

⁹ and he shall spatter _⌊some of_⌋* the sin offering's blood on the altar's side, and the leftover blood must be drained out on the altar's base; it is a sin offering.

¹⁸ "Then* he shall go out to the altar that is _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh, and he shall make atonement for it; and he shall take _⌊some of_⌋* the bull's blood and _⌊some of_⌋* the goat's blood, and he shall put it* all around on the altar's horns.

²⁷ Yahweh is God, and he has given us light.* Bind the festal sacrifice* with cords* to the horns* of the altar.

¹³ But now in Christ Jesus you, the ones who once were far away, have become near by the blood of Christ.

¹⁵ And because of this, he is the mediator of a new covenant, in order that, because* a death has taken place for the redemption of transgressions committed during the first covenant, those who are the called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

²¹ And likewise he sprinkled both the tabernacle and all the utensils of service with the blood.

³ He shall present* from the sacrifice of the fellowship offering an offering made by fire for Yahweh consisting of* the fat covering the inner parts* and all the fat that is on the inner parts,* ⁴ the two kidneys,* and the fat that is on them, which is on the loins, and he must remove the lobe on the liver in addition to the kidneys. ⁵ Aaron's sons shall turn it to smoke on the altar in addition to the burnt offering that is on the wood, which is on the fire; it is an offering made by fire as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh.

⁹ He shall present* from the sacrifice of the fellowship offering an offering made by fire for Yahweh: he must remove its fat, the entire fat tail near the tailbone, and the fat covering the inner parts* and all the fat that is on the inner parts,* ¹⁰ the two kidneys,* and the fat that is on them, which is on the loins, and he must remove the lobe on the liver in addition to the kidneys. ¹¹ The priest* shall turn it into smoke on the altar as a food offering made by fire for Yahweh.

¹⁴ He shall present* his offering from it as an offering made by fire for Yahweh: the fat covering the inner parts* and all the fat that is on the inner parts,* ¹⁵ the two kidneys,* and the fat that is on them, which is on the loins, and he must remove the lobe on the liver in addition to the kidneys. ¹⁶ The priest* shall turn them into smoke on the altar as a food offering;* all the fat is an offering made by fire as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh.

¹⁹ He must remove* all its fat from it, and he shall turn it into smoke on the altar.

²⁶ He* must turn all of its fat into smoke on the altar like the fat of the fellowship offerings' sacrifice, and the priest shall make atonement for him _⌊because of_⌋* his sin, and _⌊he will be forgiven_⌋.*

³¹ He* must remove all of its fat _⌊just as_⌋* the fat was removed from* the fellowship offerings' sacrifice, and the priest shall turn it into smoke on the altar as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh. The priest* shall make atonement for him, and _⌊he will be forgiven_⌋.*

³⁵ He must remove* all of its fat _⌊just as_⌋* the lamb's fat from the fellowship offerings' sacrifice was removed, and the priest shall turn them into smoke on the altar upon Yahweh's offerings made by fire; and the priest shall make atonement for him because of* his sin that he _⌊committed_⌋,* and _⌊he will be forgiven_⌋.'"*

³ And he must present all of its fat:* the fat tail and the fat that covers the inner parts,* ⁴ and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is on the loins, and he must remove the lobe on the liver in addition to the kidneys. ⁵ And the priest shall turn it into smoke it on the altar as a food offering made by fire for Yahweh; it is a guilt offering.

²⁵ And he must turn into smoke the sin offering's fat on the altar.

¹⁰ Yet* Yahweh was pleased to crush him; he _⌊made him sick_⌋.* If she* places* his life a guilt offering,* he will see offspring. He will prolong days, and the will of Yahweh will succeed in his hand.

²⁷ "Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, deliver me from this hour'? But for this reason I have come to this hour!

⁴ the two kidneys,* and the fat that is on them, which is on the loins, and he must remove the lobe on the liver in addition to the kidneys.

²¹ He shall bring* the rest of* the bull _⌊outside the camp_⌋,* and he shall burn it _⌊just as_⌋* he burned the first bull; it is the sin offering for the assembly.

³⁰ But* any sin offering from which _⌊some of_⌋* its blood is brought to the tent of assembly to make atonement in the sanctuary must not be eaten; it must be burned in the fire.'"

¹⁴ Then* he brought forth the bull of the sin offering, and Aaron and his sons placed their hands on the head of the bull of the sin offering, ¹⁵ and he slaughtered it, and Moses took the blood and put* it with his finger on the altar's horns all around and purified the altar; then* he poured the blood out on the altar's base—thus* he consecrated it in order to make atonement for it.* ¹⁶ Then* he took all the fat that was on the inner parts* and the lobe on the liver and the two kidneys and their fat, and Moses turned them into smoke on the altar, ¹⁷ but* he burned the bull and its skin and its meat and its offal in the fire _⌊outside the camp_⌋,* just as Yahweh had commanded Moses.

⁸ Then* Aaron approached* the altar, and he slaughtered the bull calf of the sin offering, which was for himself. ⁹ Then* Aaron's sons presented the blood to him, and he dipped his finger in the blood, and he put it on the altar's horns, and he poured out the blood on the altar's base. ¹⁰ And the fat and the kidneys and the lobe _⌊from the sin offering's liver_⌋* he turned into smoke on the altar, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses, ¹¹ but* the meat and the skin he burned _⌊with fire_⌋* _⌊outside the camp_⌋.*

²⁷ And the sin offering's bull and the sin offering's goat, whose blood was brought to make atonement in the sanctuary, shall be brought _⌊outside the camp_⌋,* and they shall burn their hide and their flesh and their offal in the fire.

⁵ The heifer will be burned* in his sight; its skin, its meat, and its blood, in addition to its offal, will burn.

¹² As far as east is from west, so he has removed far from us the guilt of our transgressions.

¹¹ For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sins are burned up outside the camp. ¹² Therefore Jesus also suffered outside the gate, in order that he might sanctify the people by his own blood. ¹³ So we must go out to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach.

¹⁰ And the priest shall put on his linen robe, and he must put his linen undergarments on his body, and he shall take away the fatty ashes of the burnt offering that the fire has consumed on the altar, and he shall place them* beside the altar. ¹¹ And he shall take off his garments and put on other garments, and he shall bring out the fatty ashes _⌊outside the camp_⌋* to a ceremonially clean place,

⁴⁶ For all the days during which the infection is on him, he shall be unclean; he must live alone; his dwelling must be _⌊outside the camp_⌋."*

³ You will send away _⌊both male and female_⌋;* you will send them _⌊outside the camp_⌋.* They must not make unclean their camps where I am dwelling in their midst."

³⁵ And Yahweh said to Moses, "Surely the man must be put to death by stoning him; all the community must stone him with stones from outside the camp."

³ And you will give it to Eleazar the priest, and it will be brought* out to a place outside the camp, and it will be slaughtered* in his presence.

¹ Then* Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, ² "Speak to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* saying, 'If a person* sins by an unintentional wrong from any of Yahweh's commands that should not be _⌊violated_⌋,* and he _⌊violates_⌋* _⌊any of them_⌋*—

² Or if a person* touches anything unclean, _⌊whether_⌋* an unclean wild* animal's dead body or an unclean domestic animal's dead body or an unclean swarmer's dead body, but* _⌊he is unaware of it_⌋,* he is unclean and he is guilty. ³ Or when he touches human uncleanness, _⌊namely_⌋* any uncleanness of his by which he might become unclean, but* _⌊he is unaware of it_⌋,* and he himself finds out, then* he will be guilty. ⁴ Or when a person* swears, speaking thoughtlessly with his lips, to do evil or to do good _⌊with regard to_⌋* anything that _⌊the person_⌋* in a sworn oath speaks thoughtlessly, but* _⌊he is unaware of it_⌋,* he will be guilty _⌊in any of_⌋* these. ⁵ When he becomes guilty _⌊in any of_⌋* these, he shall confess* what he has sinned _⌊regarding_⌋* it,

¹⁷ "If* a person* when he sins _⌊violates_⌋* one from all of Yahweh's commands that should not _⌊be violated_⌋,* but* he did not know, then* he is guilty and he shall bear his guilt.

⁴ _⌊and when_⌋* he sins and is guilty, then* he shall bring back _⌊the things he had stolen_⌋* or _⌊what he had extorted_⌋* or _⌊something with which he had been entrusted_⌋* or the lost property that he had found,

¹¹ Israel has sinned and _⌊transgressed my covenant_⌋* that I commanded them. They have taken from the devoted things;* they have stolen and acted deceitfully, and they have put them among their belongings.

²⁴ Then Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan son of Zerah, the silver, the robe, the bar of gold, his sons and daughters, his cattle and donkeys, his sheep, his tent, and everything that was his, and they brought them to the valley of Achor.* ²⁵ And Joshua said, "Why did you bring us trouble? Yahweh will bring you trouble on this day." And all Israel stoned them* with stones;* and they burned them with fire after they stoned them with stones. ²⁶ Then _⌊they placed_⌋* on top of him a great pile of stones that remains to this day. And Yahweh _⌊turned from his burning anger_⌋,* and thus the name of that place to this day is called the valley of Achor.*

¹⁹ _⌊They pledged themselves_⌋* to put away their wives, and their guilt offering was a ram of the flock for their guilt.

¹⁵ _⌊I will return again_⌋* to my place until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face; in their distress they will search* me.

²⁷ So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.

²⁶ For if* we keep on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, ²⁷ but a certain fearful expectation of judgment and a fury of fire that is about to consume the adversaries. ²⁸ Anyone who rejected the law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. ²⁹ How much worse punishment do you think the person will be considered worthy of who treats with disdain the Son of God and who considers ordinary the blood of the covenant by which he was made holy and who insults the Spirit of grace?

³ if the anointed priest sins, _⌊bringing guilt on the people_⌋,* then,* concerning the sin that he has _⌊committed_⌋,* he shall bring _⌊a young bull_⌋* without defect for Yahweh as a sin offering.

²³ or his sin he has _⌊committed_⌋* is made known to him, he shall bring* _⌊a male goat_⌋* without defect as his offering.

²⁸ or his sin he has _⌊committed_⌋* is made known to him, he shall bring* as his offering _⌊a female goat without defect_⌋* as his offering for his sin that he _⌊committed_⌋.*

¹ And to Moses he said, "Go up to Yahweh—you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy from the elders of Israel—and you will worship at a distance.

⁹ And Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy from the elders of Israel went up.

⁴ " 'He* must lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering and it will be accepted* for him in order to make atonement for him.

⁴ He shall bring* the bull to the tent of assembly's entrance before Yahweh, place* his hand on the bull's head, and slaughter the bull before Yahweh.

¹⁴ Then* he brought forth the bull of the sin offering, and Aaron and his sons placed their hands on the head of the bull of the sin offering,

²² Then* he brought the second ram near, the ram of the consecration, and Aaron and his sons placed their hands on the ram's head,

¹⁰ And you will bring the Levites _⌊before Yahweh_⌋,* and the _⌊Israelites_⌋* will lay their hands on the Levites,

¹⁶ And Yahweh said to Moses, "Gather for me seventy men from the elders of Israel whom you know are elders of the people and their* officials; take them to the tent of assembly, and they will stand there with you.

²⁵ Then Yahweh went down in the cloud and spoke to him, and he took away the spirit that was on him, and he _⌊put it_⌋* on the seventy elders. And as soon as the spirit was resting on them they prophesied, but they did not do it again.

³ _⌊And then_⌋* the nearest city to the slain one, the elders of that city shall take a heifer of the herd that has not been worked with in the field, that has not pulled a yoke, ⁴ and the elders of that city shall bring the heifer down to a _⌊wadi that flows with water all year_⌋* and that has not been plowed and has not been sown; then _⌊there they shall break the neck of the heifer in the wadi_⌋.* ⁵ Then the priests, the descendants* of Levi, shall come near, for Yahweh your God has chosen them to bless in the name of Yahweh, and every legal dispute and every case of assault will be _⌊subject to their ruling_⌋.* ⁶ And all of the elders of that city nearest to the slain person shall wash their hands over the heifer with the broken neck in the wadi.* ⁷ And they shall declare, and they shall say, 'Our hands did not shed this blood, and our eyes did not see what was done. ⁸ Forgive your people, Israel, whom you redeemed, Yahweh, and do not _⌊allow_⌋* the guilt of innocent blood in the midst of your people Israel, and let them be forgiven with regard to blood.' ⁹ And so you shall purge the innocent blood from your midst, because you must do the right thing in the eyes of Yahweh.

⁵ The anointed priest* shall take _⌊some of_⌋* the bull's blood and shall bring it to the tent of assembly, ⁶ and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood and shall spatter _⌊some of_⌋* the blood seven times before Yahweh in front of the sanctuary's curtain. ⁷ The priest* shall put _⌊some of_⌋* the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense before Yahweh, which is in the tent of assembly, and all the rest* of the bull's blood he must pour out on the base of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the entrance of the tent of assembly. ⁸ " 'He must remove* all the fat from the bull of the sin offering: the fat that covers the inner parts* and all of the fat that is on the inner parts,* ⁹ the two* kidneys and the fat that is on them, and the liver's lobe that he must remove in addition to the kidneys— ¹⁰ just as it is removed from the ox of the fellowship offerings' sacrifice—and the priest shall turn them into smoke on the altar of the burnt offering. ¹¹ But* the bull's skin and its meat, in addition to its head, _⌊its lower leg bones_⌋,* its* inner parts,* and its offal— ¹² he shall carry* all of the bull _⌊outside the camp_⌋* to a ceremonially clean place, to the fatty ashes' dump, and he shall burn it on wood in the fire; it must be burned up on the fatty ashes' dump.

¹² and not by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, he entered once for all into the most holy place, obtaining eternal redemption. ¹³ For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a young cow sprinkled on those who are defiled sanctify them for the ritual purity of the flesh, ¹⁴ how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to serve the living God?

⁸ And if _⌊she cannot afford_⌋* a sheep,* then* she shall take two turtledoves or two _⌊young doves_⌋*—one as a burnt offering and one as a sin offering—and the priest shall make atonement for her, so that* she shall be clean.'"

²⁵ The priest will make atonement for all of the community of the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and _⌊they will be forgiven_⌋* because it was unintentional; they will bring their offering, an offering made by fire for Yahweh, their sin offering _⌊before Yahweh_⌋* for their unintentional sin.

¹⁴ I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax; it is melted _⌊within me_⌋.*

³ who is the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence, sustaining all things by the word of power.* When he* had made purification for sins through him, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

¹⁴ how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to serve the living God?

³⁰ _⌊And_⌋* the next day Moses said to the people, "You have sinned a great sin. And now I will go up to Yahweh. Perhaps I can make atonement for your sin."

²⁸ And the priest will make atonement for the person who _⌊sinned unintentionally_⌋* _⌊before Yahweh_⌋,* to make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven.

²⁴ "Seventy weeks is decreed for your people and _⌊for your holy city_⌋,* to put an end to the transgression and to seal up sin* and to make atonement for guilt and to bring in everlasting righteousness and to seal vision and prophet and to anoint _⌊the most holy place_⌋.*

¹¹ And not only this, but also we are boasting in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

¹³ Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by* becoming a curse for us, because it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,"*

¹⁷ Therefore he was obligated to be made like his brothers in all respects, in order that he could become a merciful and faithful high priest in the things relating to God, in order to make atonement for the sins of the people.

¹⁰ by which will we are made holy through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. ¹¹ And every priest stands every day serving and offering the same sacrifices many times, which are never able to take away sins. ¹² But this one, after he* had offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God,

² and he* is the propitiation* for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

⁵ and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead and the ruler of the kings of the earth.
To the one who loves us and released us from our sins by his blood

¹⁵ "And he shall slaughter the sin offering's goat, which is for the people, and he shall bring its blood _⌊from behind_⌋* the curtain, and he shall do with its blood as that which he did with* the bull's blood, and he shall spatter it on the atonement cover and _⌊before_⌋* the atonement cover.

²¹ And they brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs, and seven male goats as a purification offering for the kingdom, for the sanctuary, and for Judah. And he commanded the descendants* of Aaron, the priests, to offer them on the altar of Yahweh. ²² And they slaughtered the cattle, and the priests received the blood and threw it toward the altar. Then they slaughtered the rams and threw the blood toward the altar, and then they slaughtered the lambs and threw the blood toward the altar. ²³ Then they brought the goats of the sin offering before the king and the assembly, and they laid hands upon them. ²⁴ And the priest killed them and offered their blood against the altar to make atonement for all Israel, for the king had commanded the burnt offering and the sin offering for all Israel.

²⁸ just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

⁵ For there is one God and one mediator between God and human beings, the man Christ Jesus, ⁶ who gave himself a ransom for all, the testimony at the proper time,

²¹ And you will select from all the people men of ability, fearers of God, trustworthy men, haters of dishonest gain,* and you will appoint such men over them as commanders of thousands, commanders of hundreds, commanders of fifties, and commanders of tens.

² "Speak to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* saying, 'If a person* sins by an unintentional wrong from any of Yahweh's commands that should not be _⌊violated_⌋,* and he _⌊violates_⌋* _⌊any of them_⌋*—

² took two hundred and fifty men from the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* leaders of the community summoned from the assembly, _⌊renowned men_⌋,* and _⌊they confronted_⌋* Moses.

¹³ And Moses and Eleazar the priest and all the leaders of the community went out to meet them outside the camp.

¹ There was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year. And David _⌊inquired of Yahweh_⌋,* and Yahweh said, "The bloodguilt is on Saul and on his household, because he killed the Gibeonites." ² So the king called the Gibeonites and spoke to them. Now the Gibeonites were not from the _⌊Israelites_⌋;* they were from the remainder of the Amorites. Now the _⌊Israelites_⌋* had sworn to them,* but Saul tried to wipe them out in his zeal for the _⌊Israelites_⌋* and Judah. ³ So David asked the Gibeonites, "What can I do for you, and with what can I make amends that you may bless the inheritance of Yahweh?"

¹⁰ The heart of David struck him after he had counted the people, and David said to Yahweh, "I have sinned greatly in what I have done! So then, O Yahweh, please forgive the guilt of your servant because I have acted very foolishly." ¹¹ When David got up in the morning, the word of Yahweh came to Gad the prophet, the seer of David, saying, ¹² "Go and speak to David, 'Thus says Yahweh, three things I am laying on you; choose for yourself one of them and I will do it to you.'" ¹³ Then Gad came to David, and he told him and said to him, "Shall seven years of famine in the land come to you? Or three months of your fleeing from your enemies while he is pursuing you? Or should there be three days of pestilence in your land? Now consider and decide what I must return to the one who sent me a word." ¹⁴ Then David said to Gad, "I am greatly distressed. Please let us fall into the hand of Yahweh, because he is great in his compassion; but into the hand of man don't let me fall." ¹⁵ Then Yahweh sent a plague into Israel from the morning _⌊until the agreed time_⌋,* and from the people from Dan to Beersheba, seventy thousand men died. ¹⁶ When the angel stretched out his hand to destroy Jerusalem, Yahweh regretted about the evil, and he said to the angel who brought destruction among the people, "Enough, now relax your hand." Now the angel of Yahweh was at the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite. ¹⁷ David spoke to Yahweh when he saw the angel destroying among the people, and he said, "Look, I have sinned and I have done wrong, but these sheep, what did they do? Please let your hand be against me and against the house of my father."

⁴ Or when a person* swears, speaking thoughtlessly with his lips, to do evil or to do good _⌊with regard to_⌋* anything that _⌊the person_⌋* in a sworn oath speaks thoughtlessly, but* _⌊he is unaware of it_⌋,* he will be guilty _⌊in any of_⌋* these.

³ Then* you* must speak to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* saying, 'Take _⌊a he-goat_⌋* as a sin offering and a bull calf and a male sheep, _⌊yearlings_⌋* without defect,* as a burnt offering,

¹⁹ And you shall _⌊offer_⌋* one he-goat as a sin offering and two _⌊yearling_⌋* male lambs as a sacrifice of fellowship offerings.

¹⁶ one he-goat as a sin offering;

²² one he-goat as a sin offering;

²⁸ one he-goat as a sin offering;

³⁴ one he-goat as a sin offering;

²⁴ and if it was done unintentionally _⌊without the knowledge_⌋* of the community, then the entire community must prepare one _⌊young bull_⌋* as a burnt offering, as a fragrance of appeasement for Yahweh, and its grain offering and its libation, according to the stipulation, and one male goat as a sin offering.

¹⁵ And one male goat as a sin offering for Yahweh; it will be offered in addition to the continual burnt offering and its libation.

³⁰ and one male goat to make atonement for you.

¹¹ one male goat for a sin offering, in addition to the sin offering of atonement and the continual burnt offering and its grain offering, and their libations.

¹⁰ Then Shaphan the secretary informed the king saying, "Hilkiah the priest has given me a scroll." Then Shaphan read before the king. ¹¹ When the king heard the words of the scroll of the Torah, he tore his clothes. ¹² Then the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam the son of Shaphan, Acbor the son of Micaiah, Shaphan the secretary, and Asaiah the servant of the king, saying, ¹³ "Go, inquire of Yahweh for me and for the people and for all of Judah concerning the words of this scroll that was found. For the wrath of Yahweh that is kindled against us is great because our ancestors* did not listen to the words of this scroll to do according to all that is written concerning us!"

³⁸ "And this is what you shall offer on the altar: Two _⌊one-year-old_⌋* male lambs _⌊every day_⌋* continually.

⁵ He* must slaughter _⌊the young bull_⌋* _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh, then* Aaron's sons, the priests, will present the blood and sprinkle the blood all around the altar that is at the door of the tent of assembly.

¹¹ He* must slaughter it on the north side of the altar _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh; then* Aaron's sons, the priests, will sprinkle its blood all around the altar.

² He* must lay his hand on the head of his offering and slaughter it at the entrance of the tent of assembly, and Aaron's sons shall sprinkle the blood on the altar all around.

The priest* shall make atonement for them, and _⌊they will be forgiven_⌋.* ²¹ He shall bring* the rest of* the bull _⌊outside the camp_⌋,* and he shall burn it _⌊just as_⌋* he burned the first bull; it is the sin offering for the assembly. ²² " 'When a leader sins and commits* an unintentional wrong against _⌊any of_⌋* the commands of Yahweh his God that should not be _⌊violated_⌋,* so that* he incurs guilt, ²³ or his sin he has _⌊committed_⌋* is made known to him, he shall bring* _⌊a male goat_⌋* without defect as his offering. ²⁴ He shall place* his hand on the he-goat's head and slaughter it in the place where he slaughtered the burnt offering before Yahweh; it is a sin offering. ²⁵ The priest* shall take _⌊some of_⌋* the sin offering's blood with his finger, and he shall put it on the horns of the altar of the burnt offering, and he must pour out the rest of* its blood on the base of the altar of the burnt offering. ²⁶ He* must turn all of its fat into smoke on the altar like the fat of the fellowship offerings' sacrifice, and the priest shall make atonement for him _⌊because of_⌋* his sin, and _⌊he will be forgiven_⌋.* ²⁷ " 'If* _⌊anyone_⌋* of the people of the land sins by an unintentional wrong by _⌊violating_⌋* one of Yahweh's commands that should not be _⌊violated_⌋,* so that* he incurs guilt, ²⁸ or his sin he has _⌊committed_⌋* is made known to him, he shall bring* as his offering _⌊a female goat without defect_⌋* as his offering for his sin that he _⌊committed_⌋.* ²⁹ He shall place* his hand on the sin offering's head and slaughter the sin offering in the place of the burnt offering. ³⁰ The priest* shall take _⌊some of_⌋* its blood with his finger, and he shall put it on the horns of the altar of the burnt offering, and he must pour out all the rest of* its blood on the altar's base. ³¹ He* must remove all of its fat _⌊just as_⌋* the fat was removed from* the fellowship offerings' sacrifice, and the priest shall turn it into smoke on the altar as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh. The priest* shall make atonement for him, and _⌊he will be forgiven_⌋.* ³² " 'But* if he brings a lamb as his offering for a sin offering, he must bring a female without defect. ³³ He shall place* his hand on the sin offering's head, and he shall slaughter it as a sin offering in the place where he slaughtered the burnt offering. ³⁴ The priest* shall take _⌊some of_⌋* the sin offering's blood with his finger, and he shall put it on the horns of the altar of the burnt offering, and he must pour out all the rest* of its blood on the altar's base. ³⁵ He must remove* all of its fat _⌊just as_⌋* the lamb's fat from the fellowship offerings' sacrifice was removed, and the priest shall turn them into smoke on the altar upon Yahweh's offerings made by fire; and the priest shall make atonement for him because of* his sin that he _⌊committed_⌋,* and _⌊he will be forgiven_⌋.'"*

²⁵ "Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, 'This is the regulation of the sin offering: In the place where the sin offering is slaughtered, the sin offering must be slaughtered _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh; it is _⌊a most holy thing_⌋.*

² In the place where they slaughter the burnt offering,* they must slaughter the guilt offering,* and he* must sprinkle its blood upon the altar all around.

¹⁰ Then* Moses took the anointing oil and anointed* the tabernacle and all that was in it, and he consecrated them.

²¹ Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told to you from the _⌊beginning_⌋?* Have you not understood from the foundation of the earth?

²⁴ being justified as a gift by his grace, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, ²⁵ whom God made publicly available as the mercy seat* through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness, because of the passing over of previously committed sins, ²⁶ in the forbearance of God, for the demonstration of his righteousness in the present time, so that he should be just and the one who justifies the person by faith* in Jesus.

³ For what was impossible for the law, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did. By* sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and concerning sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, ⁴ in order that the requirement of the law would be fulfilled in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

⁴ For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

¹⁰ For it was fitting for him for whom are all things and through whom are all things in bringing many sons to glory to perfect the originator of their salvation through sufferings.

²² Indeed, nearly everything is purified with blood according to the law, and apart from the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

⁵ Aaron's sons shall turn it to smoke on the altar in addition to the burnt offering that is on the wood, which is on the fire; it is an offering made by fire as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh.

²⁰ He shall do* to the bull _⌊just as_⌋* he did to the sin offering's bull, so he must do to it. The priest* shall make atonement for them, and _⌊they will be forgiven_⌋.*

¹⁰ The second* bird he must prepare as a burnt offering according to the regulation, and the priest shall make atonement for him for his sin that he has _⌊committed_⌋,* and he shall be forgiven.

¹³ Thus* the priest shall make atonement for him because of the sin that he has _⌊committed_⌋* _⌊in any of these_⌋,* and he shall be forgiven. It shall be* for the priest, like the grain offering.'"

¹⁶ And he shall make restitution for what he sinned _⌊because of_⌋* a holy thing and shall add one-fifth of _⌊its value_⌋* onto it and shall give it to the priest. The priest* shall make atonement for him with the ram of the guilt offering, and he will be forgiven.

¹⁸ He shall bring* to the priest a ram without defect from the flock* as a guilt offering by your valuation, and the priest shall make atonement for him because of his unintentional wrong (although* he himself did not know), and he will be forgiven.

²⁰ "This is the offering of Aaron and his sons that they shall present to Yahweh on the day of his being anointed: a tenth of an* ephah of finely milled flour as a perpetual grain offering, half of it in the morning and half of it in the evening. ²¹ It must be made* in* oil on a flat baking pan; you* must bring it well-mixed; you must present pieces of a grain offering's baked goods* as an appeasing fragrance to Yahweh. ²² And the anointed priest taking his place from among his sons must do it. As a lasting rule, it must be turned into smoke totally for Yahweh. ²³ And every grain offering of a priest must be a whole burnt offering; it must not be eaten." ²⁴ Then* Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, ²⁵ "Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, 'This is the regulation of the sin offering: In the place where the sin offering is slaughtered, the sin offering must be slaughtered _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh; it is _⌊a most holy thing_⌋.* ²⁶ The priest _⌊who offers the sin offering_⌋* must eat it in a holy place—in the tent of assembly's courtyard. ²⁷ Anything that* touches its flesh will become holy, and when _⌊some of_⌋* its blood spatters on a* garment, what was spattered on it you* shall wash in a holy place. ²⁸ And a clay vessel in which it was boiled must be broken, but* if it was boiled in a bronze vessel, then* it shall be thoroughly scoured and rinsed with water. ²⁹ Any male among the priests may eat it; it is _⌊a most holy thing_⌋.* ³⁰ But* any sin offering from which _⌊some of_⌋* its blood is brought to the tent of assembly to make atonement in the sanctuary must not be eaten; it must be burned in the fire.'"

⁴⁹ One law will be for the native and for the alien who is dwelling in your midst."

⁶ "Speak to the _⌊Israelites_⌋:* 'When a man or woman _⌊commits_⌋* any of the sins of humankind by acting unfaithfully, it is a sin against Yahweh, and that person will be guilty;

¹⁶ There will be one law and one stipulation for you and for the alien dwelling among you.'"

²⁷ " 'If one person sins unintentionally, that person will present a female goat _⌊in its first year_⌋* as a sin offering.

²⁹ For the native among the _⌊Israelites_⌋* and the alien that dwells in their midst, there will be one law for anyone who commits an unintentional wrong.

¹⁵ And I will put hostility between you and between the woman, and between your offspring* and between her offspring;* he will strike you on the head, and you will strike him on the heel."

³² " 'But* if he brings a lamb as his offering for a sin offering, he must bring a female without defect.

¹⁴ Therefore the Lord himself will give you* a sign. Look! the virgin* is with child and she is about to give birth to a son, and she shall call his name 'God with us.'

²² _⌊How long_⌋* will you waver, O unfaithful daughter? For Yahweh has created a new thing on the earth, a woman, she shelters a man."

²⁸ There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

⁴ But when the fullness of time came, God sent out his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, ⁵ in order that he might redeem those under the law, in order that we might receive the adoption.

¹⁵ And the elders of the community shall place their hands on the bull's head before Yahweh, and he* shall slaughter the bull before Yahweh.

²⁴ He shall place* his hand on the he-goat's head and slaughter it in the place where he slaughtered the burnt offering before Yahweh; it is a sin offering.

³³ He shall place* his hand on the sin offering's head, and he shall slaughter it as a sin offering in the place where he slaughtered the burnt offering.

⁴ For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. ⁵ Therefore, when he* came into the world, he said,
"Sacrifice and offering you did not want, but a body you prepared for me; ⁶ you did not delight in whole burnt offerings and offerings for sins. ⁷ Then I said, 'Behold, I have come— in the roll of the book it is written about me— to do your will, O God.' ⁸ When he says above,
"Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and offerings for sin you did not want, nor did you delight in,"*
which are offered according to the law, ⁹ then he has said,
"Behold, I have come to do your will."*
He takes away the first in order to establish the second, ¹⁰ by which will we are made holy through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. ¹¹ And every priest stands every day serving and offering the same sacrifices many times, which are never able to take away sins. ¹² But this one, after he* had offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God, ¹³ from now on waiting until his enemies are made a footstool for his feet. ¹⁴ For by one offering he has perfected for all time those who are made holy.

²¹ Yahweh was willing for the sake of his righteousness; he showed his teaching to be great and proved it to be glorious.

²¹ And Yahweh smelled the soothing fragrance, and Yahweh said _⌊to himself_⌋,* "_⌊Never again will I curse_⌋* the ground for the sake of humankind, because the inclination of the heart of humankind is evil from his youth. _⌊Nor will I ever again destroy_⌋* all life as I have done.

¹⁸ And you will turn into smoke on the altar all of the ram; it is a burnt offering for Yahweh; it is a smell of appeasement, an offering by fire for Yahweh.

⁹ Then* he must wash its inner parts* and its lower leg bones with water, and the priest will turn into smoke the whole animal on the altar as a burnt offering by fire, as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh.

¹³ Then* he must wash the inner parts* and the lower leg bones with water and the priest shall present the whole animal and will turn it* into smoke on the altar; it is a burnt offering by fire as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh.

¹⁷ Then* he must tear it apart by its wings but must not sever it; then* the priest will turn it into smoke on the altar. It is a burnt offering by fire as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh.'"

²¹ but* he washed the inner parts* and the lower leg bones with water, and Moses turned into smoke all of the ram on the altar; it was a burnt offering as an appeasing fragrance, an offering made by fire for* Yahweh, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses.

¹⁰ that they may offer incense offerings to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king and his children.

⁸ _⌊So then_⌋,* take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. And my servant Job will pray for you,* for _⌊I will certainly accept his prayer_⌋,* so that it will not be done with you* according to your folly, for you* have not spoken to me what is right as my servant Job has."

⁶ A sacrifice and offering you do not desire. _⌊My ears you have opened_⌋.* Burnt offering and sin offering you have not demanded. ⁷ Then I said, "Look, I come. In the scroll of the book it is written concerning me:

¹⁶ For you do not delight in sacrifice or I would give it. With a burnt offering you are not pleased. ¹⁷ The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

³⁰ I will praise the name of God in song, and magnify him with thanksgiving. ³¹ For Yahweh it will be better than an ox or bull, horned and hoofed.*

¹⁷ And behold, there was* a voice from heaven saying, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."

² and live in love, just as also Christ loved us, and gave himself for us an offering and sacrifice to God for a fragrant smell.*

¹² and not by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, he entered once for all into the most holy place, obtaining eternal redemption.

¹⁴ how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to serve the living God? ¹⁵ And because of this, he is the mediator of a new covenant, in order that, because* a death has taken place for the redemption of transgressions committed during the first covenant, those who are the called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

¹² But this one, after he* had offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God,

¹⁴ For by one offering he has perfected for all time those who are made holy.

⁴ to whom you are drawing near, a living stone rejected by men but chosen and precious in the sight of God. ⁵ And you yourselves, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

⁹ By this the love of God is revealed in us: that God sent his one and only Son into the world in order that we may live through him. ¹⁰ In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation* for our sins.

⁹ And they were singing a new song, saying,
"You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slaughtered, and bought people for God by your blood from every tribe and language and people and nation,

³ Speak to all the community of Israel, saying, 'On the tenth of this month, they will each take for themselves _⌊a lamb for the family_⌋,* a lamb for the household.

⁵ The lamb for you must be a male, without defect, in its first year; you will take it from the sheep or from the goats.

⁶ " 'But if his offering for a sacrifice of fellowship offering for Yahweh is from the flock,* he must bring a male or a female without defect. ⁷ If he brings a sheep as his offering, then* he shall present it before Yahweh,

⁷ He was oppressed and afflicted, yet* he did not open his mouth; he was brought like a lamb to the slaughter, and like a sheep is dumb before its shearers, so* he did not open his mouth.

³⁵ And the angel answered and* said to her,
"The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore also the one to be born will be called holy, the Son of God.

²⁹ On the next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, "Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

³⁶ and looking at Jesus as he* was walking by, he said, "Look! The Lamb of God!"

²⁷ in order that he might present to himself the church glorious, not having a spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she may be holy and blameless.

²⁶ For a high priest such as this indeed is fitting for us, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and having become exalted above the heavens,

¹⁸ because you* know that you were redeemed from your futile way of life inherited from your ancestors not with perishable things like silver or gold, ¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb ²⁰ who was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but has been revealed in these last times for you

²² who did not commit sin, nor was deceit found in his mouth,*

²⁴ who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we may die to sins and live to righteousness, by whose wounds you were healed.

⁶ And I saw in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures and in the midst of the elders a Lamb standing as though slaughtered, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent into all the earth.

⁸ And when he took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one of whom had a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. ⁹ And they were singing a new song, saying,
"You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slaughtered, and bought people for God by your blood from every tribe and language and people and nation,

¹⁹ And for them I sanctify myself, so that they themselves also may be sanctified in the truth.

¹ Consequently, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

²⁹ How much worse punishment do you think the person will be considered worthy of who treats with disdain the Son of God and who considers ordinary the blood of the covenant by which he was made holy and who insults the Spirit of grace?

¹ Then* Yahweh called to Moses and spoke to him from the tent of assembly, saying, ² "Speak to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and say to them, 'When a person* from you presents an offering to Yahweh, you shall present your offering from domestic animals, from the cattle* or from the flock.* ³ If his offering is a burnt offering from the cattle,* then he must present* an unblemished male; he must present it at the door of the tent of assembly for his acceptance _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh. ⁴ " 'He* must lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering and it will be accepted* for him in order to make atonement for him. ⁵ He* must slaughter _⌊the young bull_⌋* _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh, then* Aaron's sons, the priests, will present the blood and sprinkle the blood all around the altar that is at the door of the tent of assembly. ⁶ Then* he must remove the skin of the burnt offering and cut it into its pieces.

⁷ Then* Moses said to Aaron, "Approach* the altar and _⌊sacrifice_⌋* your sin offering and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself and for the people. And _⌊sacrifice_⌋* the people's offering and make atonement for them, just as Yahweh has commanded."

⁵³ And he shall send the living bird _⌊outside the city_⌋* _⌊into the open field_⌋;* and so he shall make atonement for the house, and it shall be clean.

¹ Then* Yahweh spoke to Moses after the death of Aaron's two sons, when they had come near _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh and they died. ² And Yahweh said to Moses, "Tell* your brother Aaron that he should not enter at any time into the sanctuary _⌊behind_⌋* the curtain _⌊in front of_⌋* the atonement cover that is on the ark, so that he might not die, because I appear in the cloud over the atonement cover. ³ "Aaron must enter the sanctuary with this: _⌊a young bull_⌋* as a sin offering and a ram as a burnt offering. ⁴ He must put on _⌊a holy linen tunic_⌋,* and linen undergarments must be on his body, and he must fasten himself* with a linen sash, and he must wrap a linen turban around his head*—they are holy garments, and he shall wash his body with water, then* he shall put them on. ⁵ And he must take from the _⌊Israelites_⌋'* community two he-goats as a sin offering and one ram as a burnt offering. ⁶ "And Aaron shall present the sin offering's bull, which is for himself, and so he shall make atonement for himself and for his family. ⁷ And he shall take the two goats, and he shall present them _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh at the tent of assembly's entrance. ⁸ Then* Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats: one lot for Yahweh and one for Azazel. ⁹ And Aaron shall present the goat on which the lot for Yahweh fell, and he shall _⌊sacrifice_⌋* it as a sin offering. ¹⁰ But* he must present alive _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh the goat on which the lot for Azazel fell to make atonement for himself, to send it away into the desert to Azazel. ¹¹ "And Aaron shall present the sin offering's bull, which is for himself, and so he shall make atonement for himself and for his family; then* he shall slaughter the sin offering's bull, which is for himself. ¹² And he shall take a* censer full of _⌊burning charcoal_⌋* from upon the altar from _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh and _⌊two handfuls_⌋* of incense of powdered fragrant perfumes, and he shall bring it _⌊from behind_⌋* the curtain, ¹³ and he shall put the incense on the fire _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh so that the cloud of incense might cover the atonement cover, which is on the _⌊covenant text_⌋,* so that he might not die. ¹⁴ And he shall take _⌊some of_⌋* the bull's blood, and he shall spatter it* with his finger on the atonement cover's surface on the eastern side, and _⌊before_⌋* the atonement cover he shall spatter _⌊some of_⌋* the blood with his finger seven times. ¹⁵ "And he shall slaughter the sin offering's goat, which is for the people, and he shall bring its blood _⌊from behind_⌋* the curtain, and he shall do with its blood as that which he did with* the bull's blood, and he shall spatter it on the atonement cover and _⌊before_⌋* the atonement cover. ¹⁶ Thus* he shall make atonement for the sanctuary from the _⌊Israelites_⌋'* impurities and from their transgressions for all their sins; and so he must do for the tent of assembly, which dwells with them in the midst of their impurities. ¹⁷ And _⌊no person_⌋* shall be in the tent of assembly when he enters to make atonement in the sanctuary until he comes out, and so he shall make atonement for himself and for his family and for all of Israel's assembly. ¹⁸ "Then* he shall go out to the altar that is _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh, and he shall make atonement for it; and he shall take _⌊some of_⌋* the bull's blood and _⌊some of_⌋* the goat's blood, and he shall put it* all around on the altar's horns. ¹⁹ And he shall spatter _⌊some of_⌋* the blood on it seven times with his finger, and he shall cleanse it and consecrate* it from the _⌊Israelites_⌋'* impurities. ²⁰ "And he shall finish making atonement for the sanctuary and the tent of assembly and the altar; then* he shall present the living goat. ²¹ And Aaron shall place his two hands on the living goat's head, and he shall confess over it all the _⌊Israelites_⌋'* iniquities and all their transgressions for all their sins, and he shall put them on the goat's head, and he shall send it* away into the desert _⌊with_⌋* a man standing ready.* ²² Thus* the goat shall bear on it to _⌊a barren region_⌋* all their guilt, and he shall send the goat away into the desert. ²³ "And Aaron shall enter the tent of assembly, and he shall take off the linen garments that he put on at his coming to the sanctuary, and he shall leave them there. ²⁴ And he shall wash his body with water in a holy place, and he shall put on his garments and go out and _⌊sacrifice_⌋* his burnt offering and the people's burnt offering, and so he shall make atonement for himself and for people. ²⁵ And he must turn into smoke the sin offering's fat on the altar. ²⁶ "And the person who sends out the goat for Azazel shall wash his garments, and he shall wash his body with water, and _⌊afterward_⌋* he shall come to the camp. ²⁷ And the sin offering's bull and the sin offering's goat, whose blood was brought to make atonement in the sanctuary, shall be brought _⌊outside the camp_⌋,* and they shall burn their hide and their flesh and their offal in the fire. ²⁸ And the person who burns them shall wash his garments, and he shall wash his body with water, and _⌊afterward_⌋* he must come to the camp. ²⁹ "And this shall be _⌊a lasting statute_⌋* for you: in the seventh month, on the tenth of the month, you must deny yourselves and you must not do any work, whether the native or* the alien who is dwelling in your midst, ³⁰ because on this day he shall make atonement for you to cleanse you; you must be clean from all your sins _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh. ³¹ It is _⌊a Sabbath of complete rest_⌋* for you, and you shall deny yourselves—it is _⌊a lasting statute_⌋.* ³² And the priest who is anointed and who is _⌊ordained_⌋* to serve as a priest in place of his father shall make atonement; thus* he shall put on the linen garments, the holy garments, ³³ and he shall make atonement for the sanctuary's holy place, and he shall make atonement for the tent of assembly and the altar, and he shall make atonement for the priests and for all of the assembly's people. ³⁴ And this shall be _⌊a lasting statute_⌋* for you to make atonement for the _⌊Israelites_⌋* one time in a year from all their sins."

²⁵ who was handed over on account of our trespasses, and was raised up in the interest of our justification.*

⁶ For while* we were still helpless, yet at the proper time Christ died for the ungodly. ⁷ For only rarely will someone die on behalf of a righteous person (for on behalf of a good person possibly someone might even dare to die), ⁸ but God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while* we were still sinners, Christ died for us. ⁹ Therefore, by much more, because we* have been declared righteous now by his blood, we will be saved through him from the wrath. ¹⁰ For if, while we* were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, by much more, having been reconciled, we will be saved by his life. ¹¹ And not only this, but also we are boasting in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

¹⁵ _⌊But the gift is not like the trespass_⌋*, for if by the trespass of the one, the many died, by much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, multiply to the many. ¹⁶ And the gift is not as through the one who sinned, for on the one hand, judgment from the one sin led to condemnation, but the gift, from many trespasses, led to justification. ¹⁷ For if by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through the one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ. ¹⁸ Consequently therefore, as through one trespass came condemnation to all people, so also through one righteous deed came justification of life to all people. ¹⁹ For just as through the disobedience of the one man, the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one, the many will be made righteous. ²⁰ Now the law came in as a side issue, in order that the trespass could increase, but where sin increased, grace was present in greater abundance, ²¹ so that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁶ to the praise of the glory of his grace that he bestowed on us in the beloved, ⁷ in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace,

¹⁴ in whom we have the redemption, the forgiveness of sins,

¹⁴ Therefore, because we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession.

¹⁸ because you* know that you were redeemed from your futile way of life inherited from your ancestors not with perishable things like silver or gold, ¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb

⁵ and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead and the ruler of the kings of the earth.
To the one who loves us and released us from our sins by his blood ⁶ and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father—to him be the glory and the power _⌊forever and ever_⌋*. Amen.
