³ And he got into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and* asked him to put out from the land a little. And he sat down and* began to teach* the crowds from the boat.

¹⁸ Now as he* was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew, throwing a casting net into the sea (for they were fishermen).

¹ On that day Jesus went out of the house and* was sitting by the sea.* ² And large crowds gathered close around him, so that he got into a boat to sit down, and all the crowd was standing on the shore.

¹ And again he began to teach beside the sea,* and a very large crowd was gathered to him, so that he got into a boat and* sat on the sea, and the whole crowd was at the sea on the land. ² And he began to teach* them many things in parables, and was saying to them in his teaching,

⁴¹ This one first found his own brother Simon and said to him, "We have found the Messiah!" (which is translated "Christ"). ⁴² He brought him to Jesus. Looking at him, Jesus said, "You are Simon the son of John. You will be called Cephas" (which is interpreted "Peter").

² Now early in the morning he came again to the temple courts.* And all the people were coming,* and he sat down and* began to teach* them.
