¹ Now after the Sabbath, at the dawning on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to view the tomb. ² And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came up and* rolled away the stone and sat down* on it. ³ Now his appearance was like lightning and his clothing white as snow. ⁴ And the guards trembled from the fear of him and became like dead men. ⁵ But the angel answered and* said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. ⁶ He is not here, for he has been raised, just as he said. Come, see the place where he was lying. ⁷ And go quickly, tell his disciples, 'He has been raised from the dead, and behold, he is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there.' Behold, I have told you." ⁸ And they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and* ran to tell his disciples. ⁹ And behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Greetings!" And they came up and* took hold of his feet and worshiped him. ¹⁰ Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid! Go tell my brothers that they should go to Galilee, and there they will see me." ¹¹ And while* they were going, behold, some of the guard of soldiers went into the city and* reported to the chief priests everything that had happened. ¹² And after they* had assembled with the elders and had taken counsel, they gave a rather large sum of money to the soldiers, ¹³ telling them,* "Say 'His disciples came during the night and* stole him while* we were sleeping.' ¹⁴ And if this matter is heard before the governor, we will satisfy him and _⌊keep you out of trouble_⌋."* ¹⁵ So they took the money and* did as they were told, and spread abroad this report among the Jews until this very day. ¹⁶ So the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated for them. ¹⁷ And when they* saw him, they worshiped him,* but some doubted. ¹⁸ And Jesus approached and* spoke to them, saying, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. ¹⁹ Therefore, go* and* make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰ teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the age."

⁵⁶ among whom were Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.

⁶¹ Now Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were there, sitting opposite the tomb.

¹ And when* the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome purchased fragrant spices so that they could go and* anoint him. ² And very early in the morning on the first day of the week they came to the tomb after* the sun had risen. ³ And they were saying to one another, "Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?" ⁴ And when they* looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away (for it was very large). ⁵ And as they* were going into the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. ⁶ But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene who was crucified. He has been raised, he is not here! See the place where they laid him! ⁷ But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you." ⁸ And they went out and* fled from the tomb, because trembling and amazement had seized them. And they said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.*

⁵⁶ And they returned and* prepared fragrant spices and perfumes, and on the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.

²² But also some women from among us astonished us, who were at the tomb early in the morning,

¹ Now on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it* was still dark, and saw the stone had been taken away from the tomb. ² So she ran and came to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved and said to them, "They have taken away the Lord from the tomb and we do not know where they have put him!" ³ Then Peter and the other disciple went out and were going to the tomb. ⁴ And the two were running together, and the other disciple ran ahead, faster than Peter, and came to the tomb first. ⁵ And bending over to look, he saw the strips of linen cloth lying there, though he did not go in. ⁶ Then Simon Peter also came following him, and he went into the tomb and saw the strips of linen cloth lying there, ⁷ and the facecloth that was on his head—not lying with the strips of linen cloth, but folded up separately in one place. ⁸ So then the other disciple who had come to the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed. ⁹ (For they did not yet know the scripture that it was necessary for him to rise from the dead.) ¹⁰ Then the disciples went away again to their own homes.*

⁵¹ And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom, and the earth shook and the rocks were split. ⁵² And the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, ⁵³ and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

³ And they were saying to one another, "Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?" ⁴ And when they* looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away (for it was very large). ⁵ And as they* were going into the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.

² And they found the stone had been rolled away from the tomb, ³ but when they* went in, they did not find the body.* ⁴ And it happened that while they were perplexed about this, behold, two men in gleaming clothing stood near them. ⁵ And as* they were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, they said to them, "Why are you looking for the living among the dead?

¹ Now on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it* was still dark, and saw the stone had been taken away from the tomb.

¹² and she saw two angels in white, seated one at the head and one at the feet where the body of Jesus had been lying. ¹³ And they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have put him!"

²⁶ And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened and all the bonds* were unfastened.

¹⁶ And most certainly, great is the mystery of godliness:
Who was revealed in the flesh, was vindicated by* the Spirit, was seen by angels, was proclaimed among the Gentiles*, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

¹² to whom it was revealed that they were serving not themselves but you with reference to the same things which now have been announced to you through those who proclaimed the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, _⌊things into which_⌋* angels desire to look.

¹⁹ And the temple of God in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant appeared in his temple, and there were lightnings and sounds and thunders and an earthquake and large hail.*

⁴ who makes his messengers the winds, his attendants a flame of fire.

⁴ And I looked,* and look! A storm wind was coming from the north, a great cloud, and fire flashing back and forth, and brightness around and _⌊within it_⌋,* and from its midst* it was like the outward appearance of amber stone from the midst* of the fire. ⁵ And from its midst* was the likeness of four living creatures, and this was their appearance: _⌊a human form_⌋,* ⁶ and _⌊each had four faces_⌋,* and _⌊each of them had four wings_⌋.* ⁷ And their legs were straight legs, and the sole of their feet was like the sole of the foot of a calf, and they were sparkling like the outward appearance of polished bronze. ⁸ And under their wings were _⌊human hands_⌋* on their four sides. ⁹ "_⌊I continued watching_⌋* until thrones were placed and an Ancient of Days sat; his clothing was like white snow and the hair of his head was like pure wool and his throne was a flame* of fire and its wheels* were burning fire.

⁵ And I lifted up my eyes and I saw,* and there was a man, and he was dressed in linen, and his waist was girded with the gold of Uphaz. ⁶ Now his body was like turquoise,* and his face was like the appearance of lightning, and his eyes were like torches of fire, and his arms and his legs were like the gleam of polished bronze, and the sound of his words was like the sound of a multitude.

² And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothing became bright as the light.

³ and his clothing became radiant—extremely white, like no cloth refiner on earth can _⌊make so white_⌋.*

⁵ And as they* were going into the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.

¹² and she saw two angels in white, seated one at the head and one at the feet where the body of Jesus had been lying.

¹⁰ And as they were staring into the sky while* he was departing, behold, two men in white clothing stood by them

¹⁴ and his head and hair were white like wool, white as snow, and his eyes were like a fiery flame, ¹⁵ and his feet were like fine bronze when it has been fired in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of many waters, ¹⁶ and he had in his right hand seven stars, and a sharp double-edged sword coming out of his mouth, and his face was like the sun shining in its strength.

⁴ But you have a few _⌊people_⌋* in Sardis who have not defiled their clothing, and they will walk with me in white, because they are worthy. ⁵ The one who conquers in this way will be dressed in white clothing, and I will never erase his name from the book of life, and I will declare his name before my Father and before his angels.

¹ And I saw another powerful angel descending from heaven, wrapped in a cloud, and a rainbow over his head, and his face was like the sun, and his feet were like pillars of fire,*

¹ After these things I saw another angel descending from heaven, who had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor.

¹⁴ dread met me, and trembling, and it made many of my bones shake.

⁶ Trembling seized them there— pain as of a woman in labor.

⁷ And I saw, I, Daniel _⌊alone_⌋,* the vision; and the people who were with me _⌊did not see_⌋* the vision; nevertheless, a great trembling fell upon them and they fled in order to hide themselves.

⁶⁵ Pilate said to them, "You have a guard of soldiers. Go, make it* as secure as you know how." ⁶⁶ So they went with the guard of soldiers and* made the tomb secure by* sealing the stone.

¹¹ And while* they were going, behold, some of the guard of soldiers went into the city and* reported to the chief priests everything that had happened.

³ Now as he proceeded, it happened that when he approached Damascus, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. ⁴ And falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?" ⁵ So he said, "Who are you, Lord?" And he said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting! ⁶ But get up and enter into the city, and it will be told to you _⌊what you must do_⌋."* ⁷ (Now the men who were traveling together with him stood speechless, because they* heard the voice but saw no one.)

²⁹ And demanding lights, he rushed in and, _⌊beginning to tremble_⌋,* fell down at the feet of Paul and Silas.

¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead person, and he placed his right hand on me, saying, "Do not be afraid! I am the first and the last,

³ Boast about his holy name. Let the heart of those who seek Yahweh rejoice. ⁴ Make supplication to Yahweh and his might; seek his face continually.

⁴ Say to those who are hasty of heart,
"Be strong; you must not fear! Look! your God will come with vengeance, with _⌊divine retribution_⌋.* He _⌊is the one who_⌋* will come and save you."

¹⁰ You must not fear, for I am with you; you must not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, indeed I will help you, indeed I will take hold of you with the right hand of my salvation.

¹⁴ You must not fear, O worm of Jacob; people of Israel, I myself, I will help you," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh, "and your redeemer is the holy one of Israel.

¹² And he said to me, "You must not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and to humble yourself _⌊before_⌋* your God, your words were heard, and I myself* have come because of your words.

¹⁹ And he said, "You must not fear, O beloved man. _⌊Peace be to you_⌋;* be strong and be courageous!" And _⌊when he spoke_⌋* with me, I was strengthened and I said, "Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me."

²⁷ But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Have courage, I am he! Do not be afraid!"

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid! Go tell my brothers that they should go to Galilee, and there they will see me."

⁶ But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene who was crucified. He has been raised, he is not here! See the place where they laid him!

¹² And Zechariah was terrified when he* saw the angel,* and fear fell upon him. ¹³ But the angel said to him,
"Do not be afraid, Zechariah, because your prayer has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you will call his name John.

³⁰ And the angel said to her,
"Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

⁵ And as* they were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, they said to them, "Why are you looking for the living among the dead?

¹³ And they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have put him!" ¹⁴ When she* had said these things, she turned _⌊around_⌋* and saw Jesus standing there, and she did not know that it was Jesus. ¹⁵ Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?" She thought that it was the gardener, and* said to him, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will take him."

¹⁴ Are they not all spirits engaged in special service, sent on assignment for the sake of those who are going to inherit salvation?

¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead person, and he placed his right hand on me, saying, "Do not be afraid! I am the first and the last, ¹⁸ and the one who lives, and I was dead, and behold, I am living _⌊forever and ever_⌋*, and I hold the keys of death and of Hades.

⁴⁰ For just as Jonah was in the belly of the huge fish three days and three nights, so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.

²¹ From that time on Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised on the third day.

⁹ And as* they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them saying, "Tell no one the vision until the Son of Man is raised from the dead."

²³ and they will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised." And they were extremely distressed.

¹⁹ and will hand him over to the Gentiles to mock him* and flog him* and crucify him,* and on the third day he will be raised."

³¹ Then Jesus said to them, "You will all fall away because of me during this night, for it is written,
'I will strike the shepherd and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'* ³² But after I am raised, I will go ahead of you into Galilee."

⁶³ saying, "Sir, we remember that while* that deceiver was still alive he said, 'After three days I will rise.'

³¹ And he began to teach them that it was necessary for the Son of Man to suffer many things and to be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and to be killed, and after three days to rise.

⁶ He is not here, but has been raised! Remember how he spoke to you while he* was still in Galilee, ⁷ saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of men who are sinners, and be crucified, and on the third day rise?" ⁸ And they remembered his words,

¹² But Peter got up and* ran to the tomb, and bending over to look, he saw only the strips of linen cloth, and he went away to his home* wondering what had happened.

²³ and when they* did not find his body, they came back saying they had seen even a vision of angels, who said that he was alive!

⁴⁴ And he said to them, "These are my words that I spoke to you while I* was still with you, that everything that is written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and psalms must be fulfilled."

¹⁹ Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up!"

¹⁷ Because of this the Father loves me, because I lay down my life so that I may take possession of it again.

⁴ And the two were running together, and the other disciple ran ahead, faster than Peter, and came to the tomb first. ⁵ And bending over to look, he saw the strips of linen cloth lying there, though he did not go in. ⁶ Then Simon Peter also came following him, and he went into the tomb and saw the strips of linen cloth lying there, ⁷ and the facecloth that was on his head—not lying with the strips of linen cloth, but folded up separately in one place. ⁸ So then the other disciple who had come to the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed. ⁹ (For they did not yet know the scripture that it was necessary for him to rise from the dead.)

⁸ You must not tremble,* and you must not be paralyzed with fear. Have I not made you hear from of old* and declared it, and you are my witnesses? Is there a god besides me? And there is no rock! I know none!"

²¹ Declare and present your case, also let them consult together! Who _⌊made this known_⌋* from _⌊former times_⌋,* declared it from _⌊of old_⌋?* Was it not I, Yahweh? And there is no other god besides me, a righteous God besides me, and no savior besides me.

²⁵ Behold, I have told you ahead of time!

³² But after I am raised, I will go ahead of you into Galilee."

¹⁶ So the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated for them. ¹⁷ And when they* saw him, they worshiped him,* but some doubted.

¹⁰ She went out and* announced it* to those who were with him while they* were mourning and weeping.

¹³ And these went and* reported it* to the others, and they did not believe them.

⁹ and when they* returned from the tomb, they reported all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. ¹⁰ Now Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and the others with them were telling these things to the apostles.

²² But also some women from among us astonished us, who were at the tomb early in the morning, ²³ and when they* did not find his body, they came back saying they had seen even a vision of angels, who said that he was alive! ²⁴ And some of those with us went out to the tomb and found it* like this, just as the women had also said, but him they did not see."

³⁴ saying, "The Lord has really been raised, and has appeared to Simon!"

²⁹ And now I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe.

⁴ But I have said these things to you so that when their hour comes, you may remember that I told you about them.

¹⁷ Jesus said to her, "Do not touch me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, and my God and your God.'" ¹⁸ Mary Magdalene came and* announced to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord," and he had said these things to her.

¹ After these things Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias. Now he revealed himself* in this way: ² Simon Peter and Thomas (who was called Didymus)* and Nathanael from Cana in Galilee and the sons of Zebedee and two others of his disciples were together. ³ Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing!" They said to him, "We also are coming with you." They went out and got into the boat, and during that night they caught nothing. ⁴ Now when it* was already early morning, Jesus stood on the beach. However, the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. ⁵ So Jesus said to them, "Children, you do not have any fish to eat, do you?* They answered him, "No." ⁶ And he said to them, "Throw the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some."* So they threw it,* and were no longer able to haul it in from the large number of the fish. ⁷ Then that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" So Simon Peter, when he* heard that it was the Lord, tied around himself his outer garment (for he was naked)* and threw himself into the sea. ⁸ But the other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net of fish, because they were not far from the land, but about two hundred cubits* away. ⁹ So when they got out on the land, they saw a charcoal fire laid there, and a fish lying on it,* and bread. ¹⁰ Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish that you have just now caught." ¹¹ So Simon Peter got into the boat* and hauled the net to the land, full of large fish—one hundred fifty-three—and although there* were so many, the net was not torn. ¹² Jesus said to them, "Come, eat breakfast!" But none of the disciples dared to ask him, "Who are you?" because they* knew that it was the Lord. ¹³ Jesus came and took the bread and gave it* to them, and the fish likewise. ¹⁴ This was now the third time Jesus was revealed to the disciples after he* had been raised from the dead.

⁴ and that he was buried, and that he was raised up on the third day according to the scriptures,

⁶ then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once, the majority of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep.

¹² But many of the elderly priests, Levites, and heads of the families who had seen the first temple, wept with a loud voice when they saw the foundation of this house, but many _⌊shouted aloud with joy_⌋.* ¹³ No person could distinguish the sound of joyful acclaim from the sound of people weeping, for the people shouted with great joyful acclaim and the sound was heard from afar.

¹¹ Serve Yahweh with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

⁸ And they went out and* fled from the tomb, because trembling and amazement had seized them. And they said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.*

³⁶ And while* they were saying these things, he himself stood there among them.* ³⁷ But they were startled and became terrified, and* thought they had seen a ghost. ³⁸ And he said to them, "Why are you frightened? And for what reason do doubts arise in your hearts? ³⁹ Look at my hands and my feet, that I am I myself! Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as _⌊you see that I have_⌋."* ⁴⁰ And when he* had said this, he showed them his* hands and his* feet. ⁴¹ And while* they were still disbelieving because of joy and were marveling, he said to them, "Do you have anything _⌊to eat_⌋* here?"

²⁰ Truly, truly I say to you, that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; you will become sorrowful, but your sorrow will change to joy.

²² So you also are experiencing sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy from you.

²⁰ And when he* had said this, he showed his* hands and his* side to them. Then the disciples rejoiced when they* saw the Lord. ²¹ So Jesus said to them again, "Peace to you. As the Father has sent me, I also send you."

³ The sentinels who go about in the city found me. "Have you seen the one whom my _⌊heart_⌋* loves?" ⁴ _⌊Scarcely had I passed_⌋* by them when I found him whom my _⌊heart_⌋* loves. I held him and I would not let him go until I brought him to the house of my mother, into the bedroom chamber of she who conceived me.

⁵ You meet with the one who rejoices, one who does righteousness. In your ways they remember you. Look! You were angry and we sinned against them in ancient times and we were saved.

³³ So those in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God!"

¹⁷ And when they* saw him, they worshiped him,* but some doubted.

⁹ Now early on the first day of the week, after he* rose, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had expelled seven demons. ¹⁰ She went out and* announced it* to those who were with him while they* were mourning and weeping.

²⁸ And he came to her and* said, "Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you."

³⁸ and standing behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears and was wiping them* with the hair of her head and was kissing his feet and anointing them* with the perfumed oil.

⁵² And they worshiped him and* returned to Jerusalem with great joy.

³ Then Mary took a pound* of ointment of very valuable genuine nard and* anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment.

¹⁴ When she* had said these things, she turned _⌊around_⌋* and saw Jesus standing there, and she did not know that it was Jesus. ¹⁵ Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?" She thought that it was the gardener, and* said to him, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will take him." ¹⁶ Jesus said to her, "Mary." She turned around and* said to him in Aramaic, "Rabboni" (which means "Teacher"). ¹⁷ Jesus said to her, "Do not touch me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, and my God and your God.'"

¹⁹ Now when it* was evening on that day—the first day of the week—and the doors had been shut where the disciples were because of fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, "Peace to you."

²⁸ Thomas answered and said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

¹¹ Finally, brothers, rejoice, be restored, be encouraged, _⌊be in agreement_⌋*, be at peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.

⁹ Behold, I am causing those of the synagogue of Satan, the ones who call themselves Jews and are not, but are lying—behold, I will make them _⌊come_⌋* and kneel down before your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you.

¹¹ And I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and of the living creatures and of the elders, and their number was ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands times thousands, ¹² saying with a loud voice,
"Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!" ¹³ And I heard every creature that is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and in the sea and everything in them saying,
"To the one who is seated on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power* _⌊forever and ever_⌋*." ¹⁴ And the four living creatures were saying, "Amen!" and the elders fell down and worshiped.

¹⁶ So they removed the foreign gods from their midst and served Yahweh; and _⌊he could no longer bear_⌋* the misery of Israel.

⁸ Yahweh is compassionate and gracious, _⌊slow to anger_⌋* and abundant in loyal love. ⁹ He does not dispute continually, nor keep his anger forever. ¹⁰ He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor repaid us according to our iniquities. ¹¹ For as the heavens are high above the earth, so his loyal love prevails over those who fear him. ¹² As far as east is from west, so he has removed far from us the guilt of our transgressions. ¹³ As a father pities* his children, so Yahweh pities* those who fear him.

⁴⁸ But he answered and* said to the one who told him, "Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?" ⁴⁹ And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, "Behold my mother and my brothers! ⁵⁰ For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother and sister and mother."

⁴⁰ And the king will answer and* say to them, 'Truly I say to you, in as much as you did it* to one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it* to me.'

⁴⁵ Then he will answer them, saying, 'Truly I say to you, in as much as you did not do it* to one of the least of these, you did not do it* to me.'

⁵ But the angel answered and* said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.

⁷ And go quickly, tell his disciples, 'He has been raised from the dead, and behold, he is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there.' Behold, I have told you."

³³ And he answered them and* said, "Who is my mother or* my brothers?" ³⁴ And looking around at those who were sitting around him in a circle, he said, "Behold, my mother and my brothers! ³⁵ For whoever does the will of God, this person is my brother and sister and mother."

⁷ But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you."

³⁶ And while* they were saying these things, he himself stood there among them.* ³⁷ But they were startled and became terrified, and* thought they had seen a ghost. ³⁸ And he said to them, "Why are you frightened? And for what reason do doubts arise in your hearts?

²⁰ But he said to them, "It is I! Do not be afraid!"

¹⁷ Jesus said to her, "Do not touch me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, and my God and your God.'"

²⁹ because those whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, so that he should be the firstborn among many brothers.

¹¹ For both the one who sanctifies and the ones who are sanctified are all from one, for which reason he is not ashamed to call them brothers, ¹² saying,
"I will proclaim your name to my brothers; in the midst of the assembly I will sing in praise of you."* ¹³ And again,
"I will trust in him."*
And again,
"Behold, I and the children God has given me."* ¹⁴ Therefore, since the children share in blood and flesh, he also in like manner shared in these same things, in order that through death he could destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, ¹⁵ and could set free these who through fear of death were subject to slavery throughout all their lives. ¹⁶ For surely he is not concerned with angels, but he is concerned with the descendants of Abraham. ¹⁷ Therefore he was obligated to be made like his brothers in all respects, in order that he could become a merciful and faithful high priest in the things relating to God, in order to make atonement for the sins of the people. ¹⁸ For in that which he himself suffered when he* was tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.

⁴ And the guards trembled from the fear of him and became like dead men.

¹ Why are nations in tumult, and countries plotting* in vain?* ² The kings of the earth establish themselves, and the rulers conspire* together against Yahweh and his anointed: ³ "Let us tear off their bonds, and cast their cords from us!" ⁴ He who sits enthroned in the heavens laughs. The Lord derides them. ⁵ Then he speaks to them in his wrath, and in his fury he terrifies them: ⁶ "But as for me, I have set my king on Zion, my holy mountain." ⁷ I will tell the decree; Yahweh said to me: "You are my son; today I have begotten you.

³ Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the high priest, who was named Caiaphas, ⁴ and plotted in order that they could arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him.*

¹ Now when it* was early morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus in order to put him to death. ² And after* tying him up, they led him* away and handed him* over to Pilate the governor.

⁶² Now on the next day, which is after the day of preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees assembled before Pilate, ⁶³ saying, "Sir, we remember that while* that deceiver was still alive he said, 'After three days I will rise.' ⁶⁴ Therefore give orders that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples come and* steal him and tell the people, 'He has been raised from the dead,' and the last deception will be worse than the first."

⁴⁷ So the chief priests and the Pharisees called together the Sanhedrin and said, "What are we doing? For this man is performing many signs!

¹⁰ So the chief priests decided that they would kill Lazarus also, ¹¹ because on account of him many of the Jews were going and believing in Jesus.

⁵ And it happened that on the next day, their rulers and elders and scribes came together in Jerusalem, ⁶ and Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and all those who were from the high priest's family. ⁷ And they made them stand in their* midst and* began to ask,* "By what power or by what name did you do this?" ⁸ Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "Rulers of the people and elders, ⁹ if we are being examined today concerning a good deed done to a sick man—by what means* this man was healed— ¹⁰ let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by him this man stands before you healthy! ¹¹ This one* is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, that has become _⌊the cornerstone_⌋.* ¹² And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among people by which we must be saved." ¹³ Now when they* saw the boldness of Peter and John, and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were astonished, and recognized them, that they had been with Jesus. ¹⁴ And because they* saw the man who had been healed standing there with them, they had nothing to say in return. ¹⁵ But after they* had ordered them to go outside the Sanhedrin,* they began to confer* with one another, ¹⁶ saying, "What should we do with these men? For that a remarkable sign has taken place through them is evident to all those who live in Jerusalem, and we are not able to deny it!* ¹⁷ But in order that it may not spread much further among the people, let us warn them to speak no more in this name _⌊to anyone at all_⌋."* ¹⁸ And they called them back and* commanded them* not to speak or to teach at all in the name of Jesus. ¹⁹ But Peter and John answered and* said to them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than God, you decide! ²⁰ For we are not able to refrain from speaking about the things that we have seen and heard." ²¹ So after* threatening them* further, they released them, finding no way to punish them on account of the people, because they were all praising God for what had happened. ²² For the man on whom this sign of healing had been performed was more than forty years old.

³³ Now when* they heard this,* they were infuriated, and were wanting to execute them. ³⁴ But a certain man stood up in the Sanhedrin,* a Pharisee _⌊named_⌋* Gamaliel, a teacher of the law respected by all the people, and* gave orders to put the men outside for a short time.

⁴⁰ And they summoned the apostles, beat them,* commanded them* not to speak in the name of Jesus, and released them.*

⁶⁴ Jesus said to him, "You have said it.* But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power* and coming on the clouds of heaven."

² And after* tying him up, they led him* away and handed him* over to Pilate the governor.

¹⁹ And when* Herod had searched for him and did not find him,* he questioned the guards and* ordered that they be led away to execution. And he came down from Judea to Caesarea and* stayed there.

¹⁵ and* said, "What are you willing to give me if I in turn deliver him to you?" So they set out for him thirty silver coins.

⁸ (For this reason that field has been called the Field of Blood until today.)

¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of all evil, by which some, because they* desire it, have gone astray from the faith and have pierced themselves with many pains.

¹⁴ And later, while* they were reclining at table, he appeared to the eleven. And he reprimanded their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen him after he* had been raised.

⁷⁰ Jesus replied to them, "Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is the devil?"

¹³ And when they had entered, they went up to the upstairs room where they were staying—Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot and Judas son of James. ¹⁴ All these were busily engaged with one mind in prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus and with* his brothers. ¹⁵ And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the brothers (and it was a crowd of persons of about one hundred twenty at the same place) and* said, ¹⁶ "Men and brothers, it was necessary that the scripture be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit proclaimed beforehand through the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus, ¹⁷ because he was counted among us and received a share in this ministry." ¹⁸ (Now this man acquired a field for the wages of his wickedness, and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his intestines spilled out. ¹⁹ And it became known to all who live in Jerusalem, so that that field was called in their own language* "Akeldama," that is, "Field of Blood.") ²⁰ "For it is written in the book of Psalms,
'Let his residence become deserted, and let there be no one to live in it,'*
and,
'Let another person take his position.'* ²¹ Therefore it is necessary for one of the men who have accompanied us during all the time in which the Lord Jesus went in and went out among us, ²² beginning from the baptism of John until the day on which he was taken up from us—one of these men must become a witness of his resurrection together with us." ²³ And they proposed two men, Joseph called Barsabbas (who was called Justus) and Matthias. ²⁴ And they prayed and* said, "You, Lord, who know the hearts of all, show clearly which one of these two you have chosen ²⁵ to take the place in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to depart to his own place." ²⁶ And they cast lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was added to serve* with the eleven apostles.

¹⁵ And also we are found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if after all, then, the dead are not raised.

¹² Kiss the Son lest he be angry and you perish on the way, for his anger burns quickly. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

¹¹ Let the king desire your beauty.* Because he is your lord, therefore* bow down to him.

²⁸ Truly I say to you, that there are some of those standing here who will never experience death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."

⁹ And behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Greetings!" And they came up and* took hold of his feet and worshiped him.

²³ in order that all people* will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. The one who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

⁶ "But as for me, I have set my king on Zion, my holy mountain." ⁷ I will tell the decree; Yahweh said to me: "You are my son; today I have begotten you. ⁸ Ask from me and I will make the nations your heritage, and your possession the ends of the earth. ⁹ You will break them with an iron rod. Like a potter's vessel you will shatter them."

¹⁹ Formerly you spoke in a vision to your faithful ones, and said, "I have bestowed help on a mighty man; I have exalted one chosen from the people.

²⁷ I will also make him the firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.

¹ Of David. A psalm.*
A declaration of Yahweh to my lord, "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool." ² Yahweh will send out your mighty scepter from Zion; rule in the midst of your enemies. ³ Your people _⌊will volunteer_⌋* in the day of your power.* In holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn, you will have the dew of your youth.*

⁶ For a child has been born for us; a son has been given to us. And the dominion will be on his shoulder, and his name is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ⁷ _⌊His dominion will grow continually, and to peace there will be no end_⌋* on* the throne of David and over* his kingdom, to establish it* and sustain it with justice and righteousness now and forever. The zeal of Yahweh of hosts will do this.

¹³ "_⌊I continued watching_⌋* in the visions of the night, and look, with the clouds of heaven one like a son of man* was coming, and he came to the Ancient of Days, and _⌊was presented_⌋* before him. ¹⁴ And to him was given dominion and glory and kingship that* all the peoples, the nations, and languages would serve him; his dominion is a dominion _⌊without end_⌋* that will not cease, and his kingdom is one that will not be destroyed.

²⁷ All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and _⌊anyone to whom_⌋* the Son wants to reveal him.*

³² This one will be great, and he will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David. ³³ And he will reign over the house of Jacob _⌊forever_⌋,* and of his kingdom there will be no end.

²² All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wants to reveal him."*

³⁵ The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand.

²² For the Father does not judge anyone, but he has given all judgment to the Son, ²³ in order that all people* will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. The one who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. ²⁴ Truly, truly I say to you that the one who hears my word and who believes the one who sent me has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. ²⁵ "Truly, truly I say to you, that an hour is coming—and now is here—when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and the ones who hear will live. ²⁶ For just as the Father has life in himself, thus also he has granted to the Son to have life in himself. ²⁷ And he has granted him authority to carry out judgment, because he is the Son of Man.

³ because he* knew that the Father had given him all things into his* hands, and that he had come forth from God and was going away to God,

² just as you have given him authority over all flesh, in order that he would give eternal life to them—everyone whom you have given him.

³⁶ Therefore let all the house of Israel know beyond a doubt, that God has made him both Lord and Christ—this Jesus whom you crucified!"

³⁶ As for* the message that he sent to the sons of Israel, proclaiming the good news of peace through Jesus Christ—this one is Lord of all—

⁹ For Christ died and became alive again for this reason, in order that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

²⁷ For "he subjected all things under his feet."* But when it says "all things" are subjected, it is clear that the one who subjected all things to him is not included.

²⁰ which he has worked* in Christ, raising* him from the dead and seating him* at his right hand in the heavenly places, ²¹ above all rule and authority and power and lordship and every name named, not only in this age but also in the coming one, ²² and he subjected all things under his feet* and gave him as head over all things to the church,

⁹ Therefore also God exalted him and graciously granted him the name above every name, ¹⁰ so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven and of those on earth and of those under the earth, ¹¹ and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

¹⁶ because all things in the heavens and on the earth were created by him, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers, all things were created through him and for him, ¹⁷ and he himself is before all things, and in him all things are held together, ¹⁸ and he himself is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he himself may become first in everything, ¹⁹ because he was well pleased for all the fullness to dwell in him,

¹⁰ and you are filled in him, who is the head over every ruler and authority,

² in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the world,*

⁸ you subjected all things under his feet.*
For in subjecting all things,* he left nothing that was not subject to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him,

²² who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, with angels and authorities and powers having been subjected to him.

¹⁵ And the seventh angel blew the trumpet, and there was a loud voice in heaven saying,
"The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign _⌊forever and ever_⌋*."

¹⁴ These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful."

¹⁶ And he has a name written on his outer garment and on his thigh: "King of kings and Lord of lords."

²⁶ And God said, "Let us make humankind in* our image and according to* our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of heaven,* and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every moving thing that moves upon the earth."

²⁴ Yahweh will bless you and keep you; ²⁵ Yahweh will make shine his face on you and be gracious to you; ²⁶ Yahweh will lift up his face upon you, and he will give you peace.' ²⁷ And they will put my name on the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and I will bless them."

²⁷ All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to Yahweh. All the families of the nations will worship before you. ²⁸ Because the kingship belongs to Yahweh, and he rules over the nations.

² Yahweh has made known his salvation;* to the eyes of the nations he has revealed his righteousness. ³ He has remembered his loyal love and his faithfulness to the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation* of our God.

¹ Look! here is my servant; I hold him, my chosen one, in whom my soul delights. I have _⌊put_⌋* my spirit on him; he will bring justice forth to the nations. ² He will not cry out and lift up and make his voice heard in the street. ³ He will not break a broken reed, and he not will extinguish a dim wick. He will bring justice forth in* faithfulness. ⁴ He will not grow faint, and he will not be broken until he has established justice in the earth. And the coastlands wait for his teaching.

¹⁶ Draw near to me; hear this! I have not spoken in secrecy from the _⌊beginning_⌋;* from the time _⌊it came to be_⌋,* there I have been; And now the Lord Yahweh has sent me and his Spirit."

⁶ And he says, "It is trivial _⌊for you to be_⌋* a servant for me,
to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel. I will give you as a light to the nations, to be my salvation to the end of the earth."

¹⁰ Yahweh has bared _⌊his holy arm_⌋* to the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends* of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

¹⁸ "And I—their works and thoughts!—am about to come to gather all nations and tongues, and they shall come and see my glory. ¹⁹ And I will set a sign among them, and I will send survivors from them to the nations: Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, who draw the bow; Tubal and Javan, the faraway coastlands that have not heard of my fame, and have not seen my glory.
And they shall declare my glory among the nations,

¹⁶ Now after he* was baptized, Jesus immediately went up from the water, and behold, the heavens opened* and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove coming* upon him. ¹⁷ And behold, there was* a voice from heaven saying, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."

⁵² And he said to them, "For this reason every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like the master of the house who brings out of his storeroom new things and old things."

¹⁵ And he said to them, "Go* into all the world and* preach the gospel to all creation. ¹⁶ The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who refuses to believe will be condemned.

⁴⁷ and repentance and the forgiveness* of sins would be proclaimed in his name to all the nations,* beginning from Jerusalem. ⁴⁸ You are witnesses of these things.

⁸ But you will receive power when* the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the farthest part of the earth."

³⁸ And Peter said* to them, "Repent and be baptized, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. ³⁹ For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all those who are far away, as many as the Lord our God calls to himself."

⁴¹ So those who accepted his message were baptized, and on that day about three thousand souls were added.

¹² But when they believed Philip as he* was proclaiming the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were being baptized. ¹³ And Simon himself also believed, and after he* was baptized he was _⌊keeping close company with_⌋* Philip. And when he* saw the signs and great miracles that were taking place, he was astonished. ¹⁴ Now when* the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, ¹⁵ who went down and* prayed for them so that they would receive the Holy Spirit. ¹⁶ (For he had not yet fallen on any of them, _⌊but they had only been baptized_⌋* in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

³⁶ And as they were traveling down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, "Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?"*

³⁸ And he ordered the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water—Philip and the eunuch—and he baptized him.

¹⁸ And immediately something like scales fell from his eyes and he regained his sight and got up and* was baptized,

⁴⁷ "Surely no one can withhold the water for these people to be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit as we also did!" ⁴⁸ So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay for several days.

⁴⁶ Both Paul and Barnabas spoke boldly and* said, "It was necessary that the word of God be spoken first to you, since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life! Behold, we are turning to the Gentiles! ⁴⁷ For so the Lord has commanded us:
'I have appointed you _⌊to be_⌋* a light for the Gentiles, _⌊that you would bring_⌋* salvation to the end of the earth.'*

²¹ And after they* had proclaimed the good news in that city and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch,

¹⁵ And after she was baptized, and her household, she urged us,* saying, "If you consider me to be a believer in the Lord, come to my house and* stay." And she prevailed upon us. ¹⁶ And it happened that as* we were going to the place of prayer, a certain female slave who had a spirit of divination* met us, who was bringing a large profit to her owners by* fortune-telling. ¹⁷ She followed Paul and us and* was crying out, saying, "These men are slaves of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation!" ¹⁸ And she was doing this for many days. But Paul, becoming greatly annoyed and turning around, said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!" And it came out _⌊immediately_⌋.* ¹⁹ But when* her owners saw that their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and* dragged them* into the marketplace before the rulers. ²⁰ And when they* had brought them to the chief magistrates, they said, "These men are throwing our city into confusion, being Jews, ²¹ and are proclaiming customs that are not permitted for us to accept or to practice, because we* are Romans!" ²² And the crowd joined in attacking them, and the chief magistrates tore off their clothing and* gave orders to beat them* with rods. ²³ And after they* had inflicted many blows on them, they threw them* into prison, giving orders to the jailer to guard them securely. ²⁴ Having received such an order, _⌊he_⌋* put them in the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks.* ²⁵ Now about midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and* singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. ²⁶ And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened and all the bonds* were unfastened. ²⁷ And after* the jailer was awake and saw the doors of the prison open, he drew his* sword and* was about to kill himself, because he* thought the prisoners had escaped. ²⁸ But Paul called out with a loud voice, saying, "Do no harm to yourself, for we are all here!" ²⁹ And demanding lights, he rushed in and, _⌊beginning to tremble_⌋,* fell down at the feet of Paul and Silas. ³⁰ And he brought them outside and* said, "Sirs, what must I do so that I can be saved?" ³¹ And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household!" ³² And they spoke the message of the Lord to him, together with all those in his house. ³³ And he took them at that very hour of the night and* washed their* wounds, and he himself was baptized at once, and all those of his household.*

³ And he said, "Into what then were you baptized?" And they said, "Into the baptism of John." ⁴ And Paul said, "John baptized with a baptism of repentance, telling the people that they should believe in the one who was to come after him—that is, in Jesus." ⁵ And when they* heard this,* they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

²⁸ Therefore let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles. They also will listen!"*

³ Or do you not know that as many as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? ⁴ Therefore we have been buried with him through baptism into death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so also we may live _⌊a new way of life_⌋*.

¹⁸ But I say, they have not heard, have they?* On the contrary,
"Their voice has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the inhabited world."*

¹³ Has Christ been divided? Paul was not crucified for you, was he?* Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? ¹⁴ I give thanks* that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, ¹⁵ lest anyone should say that you were baptized in my name. ¹⁶ (Now I also baptized the household of Stephanas. Beyond that I do not know if I baptized anyone else.)

⁴ Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit, ⁵ and there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord, ⁶ and there are varieties of activities, but the same God, who works all things in all people.

²⁹ Otherwise, why do they do it, those who are being baptized on behalf of the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why indeed are they being baptized on behalf of them?

²⁷ for as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

¹⁸ because through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.

²³ if indeed you remain in the faith, established and steadfast and not shifted away from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.

²¹ And* also, corresponding to this, baptism now saves you, not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

⁷ For there are three that testify,*

⁴ John, to the seven churches in Asia:* grace to you and peace from the one who is and the one who was and the one who is coming, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, ⁵ and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead and the ruler of the kings of the earth.
To the one who loves us and released us from our sins by his blood ⁶ and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father—to him be the glory and the power _⌊forever and ever_⌋*. Amen.

² And Yahweh was with Joseph, and he became a successful man. And he was in the house of his master, the Egyptian. ³ And his master observed that Yahweh was with him, and everything that was in his hand to do Yahweh made successful.

²¹ And Yahweh was with Joseph, and showed loyal love to him, and gave him favor in the eyes of the chief of the prison.

¹² And he said, "Because I am with you, and this will be the sign for you that I myself have sent you: When you bring the people out from Egypt, you will serve God on this mountain."

³² "So you must be careful to do just as Yahweh your God commanded you; you shall not turn to the right or to the left.

³² * All of the things* that I am commanding you, _⌊you must diligently observe_⌋;* you shall not add to it, and you shall not take away from it."

⁵ No one will stand before you* all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so will I be with you; I will not fail you, and I will not forsake you.

³⁶ Then Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king and said, "Amen! So may Yahweh, the God of my lord the king, confirm it!

³⁶ Blessed be Yahweh the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting!"
Then all the people said, "Amen!" and praised Yahweh.

⁷ Yahweh of hosts is with us; our high stronghold is the God of Jacob. Selah

¹⁹ And blessed be his glorious name forever, and may the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and Amen.

⁸ And he will sweep into Judah; he will overflow and he will flood up to the neck. He will reach, and _⌊he will spread his wings out over your entire land_⌋,* God with us." ⁹ Be broken, you peoples, and be dismayed. And listen, all distant parts of the earth; gird yourselves and be dismayed; gird yourselves and be dismayed! ¹⁰ _⌊Make a plan_⌋,* but it will be frustrated! Speak a word, but it will not stand, for God is with us!

²³ "Behold, the virgin _⌊will become pregnant_⌋* and will give birth to a son, and they will call his name Emmanuel,"*
which is translated, "God with us."*

¹³ And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.*

²⁴ "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. ²⁵ And the rain came down and the rivers came and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it did not collapse, because its foundation was laid on the rock. ²⁶ And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. ²⁷ And the rain came down and the rivers came and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it collapsed, and its fall was great."

³⁹ And the enemy who sowed them is the devil, and the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels. ⁴⁰ Thus just as the darnel is gathered and burned* with fire, so it will be at the end of the age.

²⁰ For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there in the midst of them."

³ And as* he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came up to him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"

²⁰ And they went out and* proclaimed everywhere, while* the Lord was working together with them* and confirming the message through the accompanying signs.

¹⁸ "I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you. ¹⁹ Yet a little time and the world will see me no longer, but you will see me; because I live, you also will live. ²⁰ On that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. ²¹ The one who has my commandments and keeps them—that one is the one who loves me. And the one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will reveal myself to him." ²² Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, "Lord, why* is it that you are going to reveal yourself to us and not to the world?" ²³ Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves me he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and _⌊will take up residence with him_⌋.*

⁴² And they were devoting themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayers.

⁹ And the Lord said to Paul by a vision in the night, "Do not be afraid, but speak and do not keep silent, ¹⁰ because I am with you and no one will attack you to harm you, because many people are mine in this city."

²⁰ how I did not shrink from proclaiming to you anything that would be profitable, and from teaching you in public and from house to house, ²¹ testifying both to Jews and to Greeks with respect to repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus.

²⁷ for I did not shrink from proclaiming to you the whole purpose of God.

² Now I praise you that you remember me in all things, and just as I handed over to you the traditions, you hold fast to them.

²³ For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you, that the Lord Jesus, on the night in which he was betrayed, took bread,

³⁷ If anyone thinks he is a prophet or spiritual,* he should recognize that the things which I am writing to you are of the Lord.*

¹¹ And he himself gave some as apostles and some as prophets and some as evangelists and some as pastors and teachers ¹² for the equipping of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for building up the body of Christ, ¹³ until we all reach the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to a measure of the maturity of the fullness of Christ, ¹⁴ so that we may no longer be infants, tossed about by waves and carried about by every wind of teaching, by the trickery of people, by craftiness with reference to the scheming of deceit. ¹⁵ But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow into him with reference to all things, who is the head, Christ, ¹⁶ from whom the whole body, joined together and held together by every supporting ligament, according to the working by measure of each single part, the growth of the body makes for the building up of itself in love. ¹⁷ This therefore I say and testify in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the Gentiles walk: in the futility of their mind,

²⁰ But you did not learn Christ in this way, ²¹ if indeed you have heard about him, and you were taught by him (just as truth is in Jesus), ²² that you take off, according to your former way of life, the old man, who is being destroyed according to deceitful desires, ²³ be renewed in the spirit of your mind, ²⁴ and put on the new man (in accordance with God), who is created in righteousness and holiness from the truth. ²⁵ Therefore, putting aside the lie, speak truth each one of you with his neighbor,* because we are members of one another. ²⁶ Be angry and do not sin;* do not let the sun set on your anger, ²⁷ nor give place to the devil. ²⁸ The one who steals must steal no longer, but instead must labor, working with his own hands what is good, so that he may have something to share with the one who has need. ²⁹ _⌊No rotten word must proceed_⌋* from your mouth, but only something good for the building up of the need, in order that it may give grace to those who hear, ³⁰ and do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. ³¹ All bitterness, and rage, and wrath, and clamor, and abusive speech, must be removed from you, together with all wickedness. ³² Become* kind toward one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, just as also God in Christ has forgiven you.

²⁸ whom we proclaim, by* admonishing every person* and teaching every person* with all wisdom, in order that we may present every person* mature in Christ,

¹ Finally therefore, brothers, we ask you and appeal to you in the Lord Jesus that, just as you have received from us how it is necessary for you to live and to please God, just as indeed you are living, that you progress even more. ² For you know what commands we gave to you through the Lord Jesus.

⁶ But we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother who lives irresponsibly and not according to the tradition that they received from us. ⁷ For you yourselves know how it is necessary to imitate us, that we did not behave irresponsibly among you, ⁸ nor did we eat bread from anyone without paying, but with toil and labor, we were working night and day in order not to be a burden to any of you, ⁹ not that we do not have the right, but so that we may give ourselves as an example to you, so that you may imitate us. ¹⁰ For even when we were with you, we used to command this to you: that if anyone does not want to work, neither should he eat. ¹¹ For we hear that some among you are living irresponsibly, working at nothing, but being busybodies. ¹² Now we command and we exhort such people in the Lord Jesus Christ that, working with quietness, they eat their own bread.

¹ All those who are under the yoke as slaves must regard their own masters as worthy of all honor, lest the name of God and the teaching be slandered. ² And those who have believing masters must not look down on them because they are brothers, but rather they must serve, because those who benefit by their service are believers and dearly loved. ³ If anyone teaches other doctrine and does not devote himself to the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that is in accordance with godliness, ⁴ he is conceited, understanding nothing, but having a morbid interest concerning controversies and disputes about words, from which come envy, strife, slanders, evil suspicions,

¹⁷ But the Lord helped me and strengthened me, so that through me the proclamation might be fulfilled and all the Gentiles might hear, and he rescued me from the lion's mouth.

¹ But you, speak the things which are fitting for sound instruction. ² Older men are to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in endurance. ³ Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not slanderous, not enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, ⁴ in order that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands and to love their children, ⁵ to be self-controlled, pure, busy at home, good, being subject to their own husbands, in order that the word of God may not be slandered. ⁶ Likewise, exhort the young men to be self-controlled, ⁷ concerning everything showing yourself to be an example of good deeds, in your teaching demonstrating soundness, dignity, ⁸ a sound message beyond reproach, in order that _⌊an opponent_⌋* may be put to shame, because he* has nothing bad to say concerning us. ⁹ Slaves must be subject to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not to talk back, ¹⁰ not stealing, but demonstrating all good faith, in order that they may do credit to the teaching of God our Savior in everything.

¹⁰ who once were not a people, but now are the people of God, the ones who were not shown mercy, but now are shown mercy.* ¹¹ Dear friends, I urge you as foreigners and temporary residents to abstain from fleshly desires which wage war against your* soul, ¹² maintaining your good conduct among the Gentiles, so that in the things in which they slander you as evildoers, by seeing your good deeds they may glorify God on the day of visitation. ¹³ Subject yourselves to every human authority for the sake of the Lord, whether to a king* as having supreme authority, ¹⁴ or to governors as those sent out by him for the punishment of those who do evil and the praise of those who do good. ¹⁵ For the will of God is as follows: by* doing good to silence the ignorance of foolish people. ¹⁶ Live as free persons, and not using your* freedom as a covering for evil, but as slaves of God. ¹⁷ Honor all people, love the community of believers, fear God, honor the king.* ¹⁸ Domestic slaves, be subject to your* masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and gentle, but also to those who are unjust. ¹⁹ For this finds favor, if because of consciousness of God someone endures sorrows while* suffering unjustly.

⁵ and for this same reason, and by* applying all diligence, supply with your faith excellence of character, and with excellence of character, knowledge, ⁶ and with knowledge, self-control, and with self-control, patient endurance, and with patient endurance, godliness, ⁷ and with godliness, brotherly love, and with brotherly love, love. ⁸ For if* these things are yours and are increasing, this does not make you useless or unproductive in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ For the one for whom these things are not present is blind, being nearsighted, _⌊having forgotten the cleansing_⌋* of his former sins. ¹⁰ Therefore, brothers, be zealous even more to make your calling and election secure, because if you* do these things, you will never ever stumble. ¹¹ For in this way entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly supplied for you.

² to remember the words proclaimed beforehand by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles,

³ And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. ⁴ The one who says "I have come to know him," and does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in this person.

¹⁹ By this* we know that we are of the truth and will convince our heart before him, ²⁰ that* if our heart condemns us, that God is greater than our heart and knows all things. ²¹ Dear friends, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God, ²² and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what is pleasing _⌊in his sight_⌋*. ²³ And this is his commandment: that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as _⌊he commanded us_⌋*. ²⁴ And the one who keeps his commandments resides in him, and he in him. And by this we know that he resides in us: by the Spirit whom he has given to us.

¹⁸ and the one who lives, and I was dead, and behold, I am living _⌊forever and ever_⌋*, and I hold the keys of death and of Hades.

¹⁴ Blessed are the ones who wash their robes, so that their authority will be over the tree of life and they may enter into the city through the gates.

²⁰ The one who testifies about these things says, "Yes, I am coming quickly!" Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!
