⁴ Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, because you judge the peoples with equity and guide the nations on the earth. Selah

¹ Come, let us sing for joy to Yahweh; let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. ² Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving; with songs let us shout joyfully to him.

¹ A praise of David.*
I will exalt you, my God, O king, and I will bless* your name forever and ever.

¹⁴ They lift up their voices;* they sing for joy; they shout out from the west over the majesty of Yahweh. ¹⁵ Therefore glorify Yahweh in the east, the name of Yahweh the God of Israel in the coastlands of the sea. ¹⁶ We hear songs from the _⌊edge_⌋* of the earth: "Glory to the righteous one!" But I say, "Ruin to me! Ruin to me! Woe to me! The treacherous ones deal treacherously, and the treacherous ones deal treacherously with treachery!"

¹⁰ Sing a new song to Yahweh; praise him from the end of the earth, you* who go down to the sea and that which fills it, the coastlands and their inhabitants. ¹¹ Let the desert and its towns lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar inhabits. Let the inhabitants of Sela sing for joy; let them shout loudly from the _⌊top_⌋* of the mountains. ¹² Let them give* glory to Yahweh and declare his praise in the coastlands.

¹⁴ Shout for joy, O daughter of Zion! Cry aloud, O Israel! Rejoice and be jubilant with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem!

⁹ And Yahweh will be king over all the earth; on that day Yahweh will be one and his name one.

³⁷ Now as* he was drawing near by this time to the descent from the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began rejoicing to praise God with a loud voice for all the miracles that they had seen,

¹⁰ And again it says,
"Rejoice, Gentiles, with his people."*

¹² And you shall rejoice _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh your God, you and your sons and your daughters and your slaves and your slave women and the Levite who is in your _⌊towns_⌋,* because there is not for him a plot of ground and an inheritance with you.

¹¹ And you shall rejoice before Yahweh your God, you and your son and your daughter and your slave and your slave woman and the Levite that is in your _⌊towns_⌋* and the alien and the orphan and the widow who are in your midst in the place that Yahweh your God will choose to let his name dwell there.

¹⁴ and you shall rejoice at your feast, you and your son and your daughter and your slave and your slave woman and the Levite and the orphan and the widow that are in your _⌊towns_⌋.*

⁴⁷ "_⌊Because_⌋* of the fact that you did not serve Yahweh your God with joy and with gladness of heart for the abundance of everything,

⁶⁶ On the eighth day, he sent the people away, and they blessed the king, and they went to their tents rejoicing and _⌊in good spirits_⌋* because of all the goodness that Yahweh had shown to David his servant and to Israel his people.

²⁷ And all the men of Judah and Jerusalem returned, and Jehoshaphat was at their head in returning to Jerusalem with joy, for Yahweh caused them to rejoice over their enemies. ²⁸ And they came to Jerusalem with harps, stringed instruments, and trumpets to the house of Yahweh.

² And Hezekiah appointed working groups of the priests and the Levites, each according to their divisions, _⌊according to the service for priests and Levites_⌋,* for burnt offerings, for peace offerings, to serve, to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the camps of Yahweh.

⁴ These I remember and I pour out my soul within me: that I would go with the multitude; I led them in procession to the house* of God, with a voice of rejoicing and thanksgiving, a crowd celebrating a festival.

⁴ So I will bless you while I live. I will lift up my _⌊hands_⌋* in your name. ⁵ My soul will be satisfied as with the best and richest food, and with joyful lips my mouth will praise.

²³ My lips will sing for joy when I sing praises to you, and my soul, which you have redeemed.

² Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving; with songs let us shout joyfully to him.

²¹ Let them give thanks to Yahweh for his loyal love, and his wonderful deeds for the children of humankind, ²² and let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of his works with rejoicing.

⁴⁶ And every day, devoting themselves to meeting* with one purpose in the temple courts* and breaking bread from house to house, they were eating their food with joy and simplicity of heart, ⁴⁷ praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding every day to the total of those who were being saved.

⁴ Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, rejoice.

³⁵ You yourselves* were shown this wonder in order for you to acknowledge that Yahweh is the God;* there is no other God _⌊besides him_⌋.*

³⁹ So you shall acknowledge _⌊today_⌋,* and _⌊you must call to mind_⌋* that Yahweh is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath. There is no other God.

⁹ So know that Yahweh your God, he is God, the trustworthy God, maintaining his* covenant and his* loyal love with those who love him and with those who keep his commandments to a thousand generations,*

⁴⁶ This day Yahweh will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down _⌊and cut off your head_⌋!* Then I will give the corpses of the army of the Philistines this day to the birds of heaven and to the animals of the earth, so that all the earth may know that there is a God who is for Israel. ⁴⁷ And all of this assembly will know that Yahweh does not rescue with sword or with spear, for the battle belongs to Yahweh, and he will give you into our hands!"

³⁶ It happened at the offering of the evening oblation, Elijah the prophet went near, and he said, "O Yahweh, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel; let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and that I have done all of these things by your words. ³⁷ Answer me, O Yahweh, answer me; that this people may know that you, O Yahweh, are God and that you have turned their hearts back again." ³⁸ Then the fire of Yahweh fell, and it consumed the burnt offering, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust; and the water which was in the trench it licked up! ³⁹ When all the people saw, they fell on their faces and said, "Yahweh, he is God! Yahweh, he is God!"

¹⁹ So then, O Yahweh our God, rescue us, please, from his hand, that all of the kingdoms of the earth may know that you, O Yahweh, you alone are God!"

³ Is it good for you that you oppress, that you despise the labor of your hands, and you smile over the schemes of the wicked?

⁸ Your hands fashioned me and made me* _⌊altogether_⌋,* then* you destroyed me. ⁹ Please* remember that you made me like clay, but* you turn me into dust again? ¹⁰ Did you not pour me out like milk and _⌊curdle me_⌋* like cheese? ¹¹ You clothed me with skin and flesh, and you knit me together with bones and sinews. ¹² You have granted me life and loyal love, and your care has preserved my spirit. ¹³ " 'Yet* you hid these things in your heart; I know that this _⌊was your purpose_⌋.*

⁴ those who say, "With our tongue we will prevail. Our lips are on our side. Who is master over us?"

¹⁰ Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth.

Why, O God, have you rejected us forever? Why does your anger smoke against the sheep of your pasture? ² Remember your congregation that you bought long ago, when you redeemed the tribe of your inheritance. Remember _⌊Mount Zion_⌋* where you have dwelt.

⁵² Then he led out his people like sheep and guided them like a herd in the wilderness.

¹³ Then we, your people and the flock of your pasture, we will give thanks to you forever. _⌊Generation after generation_⌋* we will tell of your praise.

³ For Yahweh is the* great God, and the great king over all gods,

⁶ Come in, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before Yahweh, our maker. ⁷ For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. _⌊Today_⌋* if you will hear his voice:*

⁷³ Your hands have made me and established me; give me understanding that I may learn your commands.

¹³ Indeed you created my _⌊inward parts_⌋;* you wove me in my mother's womb. ¹⁴ I praise you, because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.* Wonderful are your works, and my soul knows it well. ¹⁵ My _⌊frame_⌋* was not hidden from you, when I was created secretly,* and intricately woven in the depths of the earth. ¹⁶ Your eyes saw my embryo,* and in your book they all were written— days fashioned for me when there was not one of them. ¹⁷ And to me, how precious* are your thoughts, O God; how vast is their sum. ¹⁸ If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. I awaken, and I am still with you. ¹⁹ If only you would kill the wicked, O God— so get away from me, you _⌊bloodthirsty men_⌋—* ²⁰ who speak against you deceitfully. Your enemies take your name in vain. ²¹ Do I not hate those who hate you, O Yahweh? And do I not loathe those who rise up against you? ²² I hate them with a complete hatred; they have become my enemies. ²³ Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. ²⁴ And see if there is in me _⌊the worship of false gods_⌋,* and lead me in the way everlasting.

² Let Israel be glad in its maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their king.

¹ Remember your Creator in the days of your youth— before the days of trouble come and the years draw near when you will say, "I find no pleasure in them!"

⁹ _⌊Get yourself_⌋* up to a high mountain, Zion, bringer of good news! Lift up your voice with strength, Jerusalem, bringer of good news! Lift it up; you must not fear! Say to the cities of Judah, "Here is your God!" ¹⁰ Look! The Lord Yahweh comes with _⌊strength_⌋,* and his arm rules for him. Look! His reward is with him, and his recompense _⌊in his presence_⌋.* ¹¹ He will feed his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arm, and he will carry them in his bosom; he will lead those who nurse.

¹¹ Then* his people remembered the days of old, of Moses. Where is the one who led up them from the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is the one who puts _⌊his Holy Spirit_⌋* inside him,

¹⁹ We have been since antiquity; you did not rule them; _⌊they were not called by your name_⌋.*

¹⁰ But Yahweh is the true God, he is the living God, and _⌊an everlasting king_⌋.* Because of his wrath the earth quakes, and the nations cannot endure his anger.

¹¹ " 'For thus says the Lord Yahweh: "Look! I, even I, will seek my flock, and I will look after them,

³⁰ And they will know that I, Yahweh their God, am with them and they are my people, the house of Israel," _⌊declares_⌋* the Lord Yahweh, ³¹ "and you are my flock, the flock of my pasture. You are _⌊my people_⌋;* I am your God," _⌊declares_⌋* the Lord Yahweh.'"

¹⁴ "I am the good shepherd, and I know my own, and my own know me, ¹⁵ just as the Father knows me and I know the Father, and I lay down my life for the sheep. ¹⁶ And I have other sheep which are not from this fold. I must bring these also, and they will hear my voice, and they will become one flock—one shepherd.

²⁶ But you do not believe, because you are not of my sheep! ²⁷ My sheep listen to my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. ²⁸ And I give them eternal life, and they will never perish _⌊forever_⌋,* and no one will seize them out of my hand.

³ Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

²³ For as I* was passing through and observing carefully your objects of worship, I even found an altar on which was inscribed, 'To an unknown God.' Therefore what you worship without knowing it,* this I proclaim to you— ²⁴ the God who made the world and all the things in it. This one, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by human hands,

²⁸ Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock among which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as overseers, to shepherd the church of God which he obtained through the blood of his own Son.* ²⁹ I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.

¹⁹ Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? ²⁰ For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God with your body.

⁶ For God who said, "Light will shine out of darkness,"* is the one who has shined in our hearts for the enlightenment of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.*

⁸ But at that time when you* did not know God, you were enslaved to the things which by nature are not gods. ⁹ But now, because you have come to know God, or rather have come to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and miserable elemental spirits? Do you want to be enslaved to them* all over again?

¹⁰ For we are his creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, so that we may walk in them.

⁹ But you are a chosen race,* a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's possession, so that you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light,

²⁵ For you were going astray like sheep, but you have turned back now to the shepherd and guardian of your souls.

¹⁹ So then also those who suffer according to the will of God must entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing good.

² shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not by compulsion but willingly, in accordance with God, and not greedily but eagerly, ³ and not as lording it over _⌊those under your care_⌋*, but being examples for the flock. ⁴ And when* the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, in order that we may know the one who is true, and we are in the one who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This one is the true God and eternal life.

¹³ And now, our God, we give thanks to you and offer praise to the name of your splendor.

²⁰ And David said to all the assembly, "Bless Yahweh your God!" And all the assembly blessed Yahweh, the God of their ancestors.* And they bowed down and prostrated themselves before Yahweh and the king.

Praise awaits you, O God, in Zion, and to you the vow shall be fulfilled.

¹³ I will come into your house* with burnt offerings. I will pay to you my vows

² Sing to* Yahweh; bless his name. Announce* his salvation from day to day.

¹ Of David.*
Bless Yahweh, O my soul, and all within me, bless his holy name. ² Bless Yahweh, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefits:

²⁰ Bless Yahweh, you his angels, you mighty heroes who do his word by _⌊obeying_⌋* the sound of his word. ²¹ Bless Yahweh, all you his hosts, you his attendants who do his will. ²² Bless Yahweh, all his works,* in all the places of his dominion. Bless Yahweh, O my soul.

¹⁷ I will offer to you a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and proclaim the name of Yahweh. ¹⁸ I will pay my vows made to Yahweh in the presence of all his people, ¹⁹ in the courts of the house* of Yahweh, in the midst of you, O Jerusalem. Praise Yah!*

¹ A praise of David.*
I will exalt you, my God, O king, and I will bless* your name forever and ever. ² Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever.

¹⁰ And the ransomed of Yahweh shall return, and they shall come to Zion with rejoicing. And everlasting joy shall be on their head; joy and gladness shall overtake them, and sorrow and sighing shall flee.

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another with all wisdom, with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God, ¹⁷ and everything _⌊whatever_⌋* you do in word or in deed, giving thanks for all things in the name of the Lord Jesus to God the Father through him.

¹⁵ Therefore through him let us offer up a sacrifice of praise _⌊continually_⌋* to God, that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name.

⁶ And Yahweh passed over before him, and he proclaimed, "Yahweh, Yahweh, God, who is compassionate and gracious, _⌊slow to anger_⌋,* and abounding with* loyal love and faithfulness, ⁷ keeping loyal love to the thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and he does not leave utterly unpunished, punishing the guilt of fathers on sons and on sons of sons on third and fourth generations."

³⁴ Oh give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good; his loyal love is everlasting.

¹³ And it was the primary duty of the trumpeters and singers to make themselves heard with one voice, to praise and give thanks to Yahweh. And when a sound from the trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments of song was raised to Yahweh—for he is good, because his loyal love is everlasting—then the house, the house of Yahweh, was filled with a cloud.

¹¹ And they _⌊sang responsively_⌋,* with praising and thanksgiving to Yahweh saying, "For he is good, for his loyal love is everlasting for Israel."
And all of the people responded with a great shout of joyful acclaim in praise to Yahweh because the house of Yahweh was laid.

⁸ Good and right is Yahweh; therefore he instructs sinners in the way.

⁵ O Yahweh, your loyal love extends into the heavens, your faithfulness unto the clouds.

Why do you boast about evil, O mighty man? The loyal love of God endures _⌊continually_⌋.*

¹⁰ Loyal love and faithfulness* will meet one another; righteousness and peace will kiss.

⁵ For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, and abundant in loyal love* for all who call to you.

I will sing forever of Yahweh's acts of loyal love. _⌊From generation to generation_⌋* I will make known your faithfulness with my mouth. ² For I say, "Forever your loyal love is built up. The heavens you have established with your faithfulness in them."

¹⁷ But the loyal love of Yahweh is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to their children's children,

¹ Praise Yah.* Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loyal love is forever.

⁸ Let them give thanks to Yahweh for his loyal love, and his wonderful deeds for the children of humankind,

²² and let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of his works with rejoicing.

⁶ who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them, the one who keeps faith* forever,

¹¹ the voice of jubilation, and the voice of joy, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voices* of those who say, "Praise Yahweh of hosts, for Yahweh is good, for his loyal love is _⌊forever_⌋,"* the voices of those who bring thank offerings* to the house of Yahweh, for I will restore the fortunes* of the land as in the beginning,' says Yahweh.

²⁰ "Thus says Yahweh: 'If you could break my covenant with the day, and my covenant with the night, so that day and night would not come at their time, ²¹ then my covenant could be broken with David my servant, from _⌊having_⌋* a son who could rule on his throne, and with the Levites, the priests, my ministers.

²⁰ You will show faithfulness to Jacob, and loyal love to Abraham, as you have sworn to our ancestors* from the days of old.

⁷ Yahweh is good—a refuge in the day of distress; he knows those who take refuge in him.

⁵⁰ And his mercy is for generation after generation to those who fear him.

⁸ For I say, Christ has become a servant of the circumcision on behalf of the truth of God, in order to confirm the promises to the fathers, ⁹ and that the Gentiles may glorify God for his mercy, just as it is written,
"Because of this, I will praise you among the Gentiles, and I will sing praise to your name."*

² in the hope of eternal life which God, who does not lie, promised before eternal ages,

¹³ For when* God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater to swear by, he swore by himself, ¹⁴ saying,
"Surely _⌊I will greatly bless_⌋* you, and _⌊I will greatly multiply_⌋* you." ¹⁵ And so, by* persevering, he obtained the promise. ¹⁶ For people swear by what is greater than themselves, and the oath for confirmation is the end of all dispute for them. ¹⁷ In the same way God, because he* wanted to show even more to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of his resolve, guaranteed it with an oath, ¹⁸ in order that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge may have powerful encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us,
