Bless Yahweh, O my soul, and all within me, bless his holy name. ² Bless Yahweh, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefits: ³ who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, ⁴ who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with loyal love and mercies, ⁵ who satisfies your life with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. ⁶ Yahweh does deeds of justice and judgments for all who are oppressed, ⁷ who made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the _⌊people_⌋* of Israel. ⁸ Yahweh is compassionate and gracious, _⌊slow to anger_⌋* and abundant in loyal love. ⁹ He does not dispute continually, nor keep his anger forever. ¹⁰ He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor repaid us according to our iniquities. ¹¹ For as the heavens are high above the earth, so his loyal love prevails over those who fear him. ¹² As far as east is from west, so he has removed far from us the guilt of our transgressions. ¹³ As a father pities* his children, so Yahweh pities* those who fear him. ¹⁴ For he knows our frame.* He remembers that we are dust. ¹⁵ As for man, his days are like the grass. As the flower of the field, so he blossoms. ¹⁶ When the wind passes over it, it is no more, and its place knows it no longer. ¹⁷ But the loyal love of Yahweh is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to their children's children, ¹⁸ to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his precepts. ¹⁹ Yahweh has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all. ²⁰ Bless Yahweh, you his angels, you mighty heroes who do his word by _⌊obeying_⌋* the sound of his word. ²¹ Bless Yahweh, all you his hosts, you his attendants who do his will. ²² Bless Yahweh, all his works,* in all the places of his dominion. ⁷ For God is king of all the earth. Sing praises with understanding.*

⁷ My heart is steadfast, O God; My heart is steadfast. I will sing and give praise. ⁸ Awake, my glory; Awake, harp and lyre. I will awake the dawn.* ⁹ I will give you thanks among the peoples, O Lord; I will give you praise among the nations. ¹⁰ Because your loyal love is high to the heavens, and your faithfulness to the clouds. ¹¹ Be exalted above the heavens, O God. Let your glory be above all the earth.

⁵ My soul will be satisfied as with the best and richest food, and with joyful lips my mouth will praise.

¹² I will give you thanks, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and glorify your name forever, ¹³ because your loyal love is great toward me, and you will have delivered my life from Sheol* below.

³ Let them praise your great and fearful name. He is holy.

I give you thanks with my whole heart; before the gods I sing your praise.

¹ Praise Yah.* Praise Yahweh, O my soul. ² I will praise Yahweh while I live; I will sing praises to my God while I am still alive.

³ And the one called to the other and said,
"Holy, holy, holy is Yahweh of hosts! The _⌊whole earth is full of his glory_⌋."*

³⁰ And you shall love the Lord your God from your whole heart and from your whole soul and from your whole mind and from your whole strength.'* ³¹ The second is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'* There is no other commandment greater than these." ³² And the scribe said to him, "That is true, Teacher. You have said _⌊correctly_⌋* that he is one and there is no other except him. ³³ And to love him from your* whole heart and from your* whole understanding and from your* whole strength, and to love your* neighbor as yourself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices."

⁴⁶ And Mary said,
"My soul exalts the Lord, ⁴⁷ and my spirit has rejoiced greatly in God my Savior,

²⁴ God is spirit, and the ones who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."

¹⁵ _⌊Therefore what should I do_⌋*? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind. I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will also sing praise with my mind.

⁹ And this I pray: that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment,

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another with all wisdom, with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God,

⁸ And the four living creatures, _⌊each one_⌋* of them, had six wings apiece, full of eyes around and inside, and they do not have rest day and night, saying,
"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God All-Powerful,* the one who was and the one who is and the one who is coming!"

¹² then take care for yourself, so that you do not forget Yahweh, who brought you out from the land of Egypt from the house of slavery.

² And you shall remember all of the way that Yahweh your God led you during these forty years in the desert in order to humble you and to test you to know what is in your heart, whether you would diligently keep his commandments or not. ³ And he humbled you and let you go hungry, and then he fed you with that which you did not know nor did your ancestors* know, in order to make you know that not by bread alone but by all that goes out* of the mouth of Yahweh humankind shall live. ⁴ Your clothing did not wear out _⌊on you_⌋,* and your feet did not swell during these forty years.

¹⁰ And you will eat, and _⌊you will be satisfied_⌋,* and you will bless Yahweh your God because of the good land that he has given to you. ¹¹ "Take care for yourself so that you not forget Yahweh your God by not keeping his commandments and his regulations and his statutes that I am commanding you _⌊today_⌋,* ¹² lest when you have eaten and you are satisfied and you have built good houses and you live in them, ¹³ and your herds and your flocks have multiplied, and _⌊you have accumulated silver and gold_⌋,* and all that _⌊you have_⌋* has multiplied, ¹⁴ then your heart _⌊becomes proud_⌋* and you forget Yahweh your God, _⌊the one who brought you out_⌋* from the land of Egypt, from the house of slavery,

⁶ Like this do you treat Yahweh, foolish and _⌊unwise_⌋* people? Has he not, your father, created you? He made you, and he established you.

¹⁸ The rock who* bore you, you neglected, and you forgot God, the one giving you birth.

²⁵ But Hezekiah did not reciprocate according to the benefit placed upon him, because his heart became proud. So wrath was upon him and upon Judah and Jerusalem.

⁵ Remember his wonders that he has done, his signs and the judgments of his mouth,

⁷ Our ancestors* in Egypt did not understand your wonderful works. They did not remember your many acts of loyal love, and so they rebelled by the sea at _⌊the Red Sea_⌋.*

²¹ They forgot God their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt,

¹² What shall I give back to Yahweh for all his benefits to me?

¹ Who is this, coming from Edom, from Bozrah in bright red garments? Who is this honored in his garment, lying down in his great strength? "It is I, speaking in justice, _⌊mighty_⌋* to save!"

⁷ I will mention the loyal love of Yahweh, the praises of Yahweh, according to all that Yahweh has done for us, and the greatness of goodness to the house of Israel that he has done to them according to his mercy and the abundance of his loyal love.

³¹ O generation, you see the word of Yahweh. Have I been a desert* to Israel? Or a land of great darkness? Why do my people say, 'We roam about freely, we will not come again to you'? ³² Can a young woman forget her ornaments?* Or a bride her sashes? Yet my people have forgotten me days without number.

¹⁵ But one of them, when he* saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice. ¹⁶ And he fell on his face at his feet, giving thanks to him. And he was a Samaritan. ¹⁷ So Jesus answered and* said, "Were not ten cleansed? And where are the nine? ¹⁸ Was no one found to turn back and* give praise to God except this foreigner?"

¹¹ Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh, the so-called uncircumcision by the so-called circumcision in the flesh, made by hands, ¹² that you were at that time apart from Christ, alienated from the citizenship of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, not having hope, and without God in the world. ¹³ But now in Christ Jesus you, the ones who once were far away, have become near by the blood of Christ.

²⁶ And he said, "If you carefully listen to the voice of Yahweh your God and you do what is right in his eyes and give heed to his commands and you keep all his rules, then I will not bring about on you any of the diseases* that I brought about on Egypt, because I am Yahweh your healer.

⁷ keeping loyal love to the thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and he does not leave utterly unpunished, punishing the guilt of fathers on sons and on sons of sons on third and fourth generations."

¹³ And Moses cried to Yahweh, saying, "God, _⌊please heal her_⌋!"*

⁷ The people came to Moses and said, "We have sinned because we have spoken against Yahweh and against you. Pray to Yahweh and let him remove the snakes* from among us." So Moses prayed for the people. ⁸ And Yahweh said to Moses, "Make for yourself a snake and place it on a pole. When* anyone is bitten and looks at it, that person will live." ⁹ So Moses made a snake of bronze, and he placed it on the pole; whenever* a snake bit someone, and that person looked at the snake of bronze, he lived.

¹³ Then David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against Yahweh!"* Nathan said to David, "Yahweh has also forgiven your sin; you shall not die.

² O Yahweh, my God, I cried for help to you, and you healed me.

Happy is he whose transgression is taken away, whose sin is covered. ² Happy is a person to whom Yahweh does not impute iniquity and in whose spirit there is not deceit. ³ When I kept silent, my bones were worn out due to my groaning all the day. ⁴ For day and night your hand was heavy upon me. My vigor was changed into the dry heat of summer. Selah ⁵ I made known my sin to you, and my iniquity I did not cover. I said, "I will confess concerning my transgressions to Yahweh," and you took away the guilt of my sin. Selah

¹ A psalm of David. To bring to remembrance.*
O Yahweh, do not rebuke me in your anger or chastise me in your wrath. ² For your arrows have sunk into me, and your hand has pressed down on me. ³ There is no soundness in my flesh because of your indignation. There is no health in my bones because of my sin. ⁴ For my iniquities have passed over my head; like a heavy burden they are too heavy for me. ⁵ My wounds start to stink; they rot because of my foolishness. ⁶ I am bowed down; I am bent over greatly. All the day I go about mourning. ⁷ For my loins are full of burning, and there is no soundness in my flesh.

³ Yahweh sustains him on his sick bed. In his illness, you _⌊restore to health_⌋.* ⁴ As for me, I said, "O Yahweh, be gracious to me. Heal me,* for I have sinned against you."

⁸ "A ruinous thing is poured out on him, and now that he lies down, he will not rise up again."

¹ For the music director. A psalm of David. When Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.*
Be gracious to me, O God, according to your loyal love. According to your abundant mercies, blot out my transgressions. ² Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and from my sin cleanse me. ³ For _⌊I myself know_⌋* my transgressions,* and my sin is ever before me.

¹⁷ Fools, because of their rebellious way and their iniquities, were afflicted. ¹⁸ Their soul abhorred all food, and they approached the gates of death. ¹⁹ Then they called to Yahweh for help in their trouble. He saved them from their distresses. ²⁰ He sent his word and healed them, and he delivered them from their pits.* ²¹ Let them give thanks to Yahweh for his loyal love, and his wonderful deeds for the children of humankind, ²² and let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of his works with rejoicing.

⁸ And he will redeem Israel from all its iniquities.

³ He is the one who heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds.

²⁴ And no inhabitant will say, "I am sick"; the people who live in it, their iniquity will be taken away.

²⁵ I, I am the one who blots out your transgressions for my sake, and I will not remember your sins.

⁵ But* he was pierced* because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities; the chastisement for* our peace* was upon him, and by his wounds* _⌊we were healed_⌋.*

¹⁴ Heal me, O Yahweh, and I will be healed, save me, and I will be saved, for you are my praise.

² And behold, they brought to him a paralytic lying on a stretcher, and when* Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Have courage, child, your sins are forgiven." ³ And behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, "This man is blaspheming!" ⁴ And knowing* their thoughts, Jesus said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts? ⁵ For which is easier to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'? ⁶ But in order that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins," then he said to the paralytic, "Get up, pick up your stretcher and go to your home."

⁵ And when* Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Child, your sins are forgiven."

¹⁰ But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,"—he said to the paralytic— ¹¹ "I say to you, get up, pick up your stretcher, and go to your home."

⁴⁷ _⌊For this reason_⌋* I tell you, her sins—which were many—have been forgiven, for she loved much. But the one to whom little is forgiven loves little." ⁴⁸ And he said to her, "Your sins are forgiven."

⁷ in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace,

¹⁵ And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins _⌊he will be forgiven_⌋*.

¹⁶ The angel who redeemed me from all evil, may he bless the boys. And through them let my name be perpetuated,* and the name of my fathers, Abraham and Isaac. And let them multiply into many in the midst of the earth.

¹⁹ "And he is reproved with pain on his bed, even* with the strife of his bones continually, ²⁰ _⌊so that_⌋* his life loathes bread, and his inner self* loathes _⌊appetizing food_⌋.* ²¹ His flesh is wasted away from sight, and his bones, which are invisible, are bared. ²² And _⌊he_⌋* draws near to the pit and his life to the killers. ²³ "If there is a messenger beside him, a mediator, one of a thousand,* to declare to a human being his uprightness ²⁴ _⌊so that_⌋* he is gracious to him, and he says, 'Deliver him from descending into the pit; I have found a ransom.' ²⁵ His flesh is renewed with his youth; he returns to the days of his youthful strength. ²⁶ He prays to God, then he accepts him, and he sees his face with a shout of joy, and he repays to the human being his righteousness. ²⁷ "He will sing to men, and he will say, 'I have sinned and have perverted what is right, and it was not paid back to me. ²⁸ He redeemed my life from going down into the pit, so* _⌊I will enjoy the light_⌋.'* ²⁹ Look, God does all these things twice, three times* with a person ³⁰ to bring his life back from the pit _⌊so that he may enjoy the light of life_⌋.*

¹² For you bless the righteous. O Yahweh, like a* shield you surround him with good favor.

⁵ And you made him a little lower than heavenly beings,* and with glory and with majesty you crowned him.

³ For you meet him with blessings of good things. You set on his head a crown of fine gold.

²² Yahweh redeems the life of his servants, and none who take refuge in him will incur guilt.

¹³ because you have delivered my soul from death. Have you not kept my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

¹¹ You crown the year with your _⌊bounty_⌋,* and your wagon paths drip with _⌊richness_⌋.*

²³ My lips will sing for joy when I sing praises to you, and my soul, which you have redeemed.

¹² Blessed is the person* who endures testing, because when he* is approved he will receive the crown of life that he* has promised to those who love him.

⁴ And when* the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

⁹ And they were singing a new song, saying,
"You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slaughtered, and bought people for God by your blood from every tribe and language and people and nation,

⁵ You prepare before me a table in the presence of my oppressors. You anoint my head with oil; my cup is overflowing.

⁴ Blessed is one whom you choose and bring near, that he may abide in your courts. We will be satisfied with the goodness of your house, your holy temple.

²⁸ You give to them; they gather it. You open your hand, they are filled with what is good.

⁹ for he satisfies the longing soul,* and the hungry soul he fills with good.

¹⁵ May you be blessed by Yahweh, who made heaven and earth. ¹⁶ The heavens are Yahweh's heavens, but the earth he has given to the children of humankind.

³¹ But* those who wait for Yahweh shall renew their strength. They shall go up with wings* like eagles; they shall run and not grow weary; they shall walk and not be faint.

¹⁵ From there I will give her her vineyards, and the Valley of Achor as a doorway of hope. And there she will respond, as in the days of her youth, just as in the day of her coming out of the land of Egypt.

¹⁶ Therefore we do not lose heart, but even if our outer person is being destroyed, yet our inner person is being renewed day after day.

¹⁷ Command those who are rich in this present age not to be proud and not to put their hope in the uncertainty of riches, but in God, who provides us all things richly for enjoyment,

¹⁴ "You shall not exploit a hired worker, who is needy and poor, from among your fellow men or from among your aliens* who are in your land and in your _⌊towns_⌋.* ¹⁵ On his day you shall give his wage, and the sun shall not go _⌊down_⌋,* because he is poor and _⌊his life depends on it_⌋;* do this so that he does not cry out against you to Yahweh, _⌊and you incur guilt_⌋.*

¹³ "This is the portion of the wicked human being with God, and they receive from Shaddai the inheritance of the ruthless. ¹⁴ If their children multiply, it is for the sword, and his offspring _⌊do not have enough to eat_⌋.* ¹⁵ Their* survivors are buried through* the plague, and their* widows do not weep. ¹⁶ If he heaps up silver like the dust and fashions clothing like the clay, ¹⁷ he makes it ready, and the righteous will wear it, and the innocent will divide the silver. ¹⁸ "He builds his house like the moth, and like a booth that a watchman has made. ¹⁹ He goes to bed with wealth, but* _⌊he will do so no more_⌋;* he opens his eyes, and _⌊it is gone_⌋.* ²⁰ Terrors overtake him like the water; a storm wind carries him off in the night. ²¹ The east wind lifts him up, and he is gone, and it sweeps him away from his place. ²² And it hurls at him, and it has no compassion; he will quickly flee from its power. ²³ It claps its hands over him, and it hisses at him from its place.

⁹ And Yahweh will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of distress.

¹⁴ But you have seen; indeed you have noted trouble and grief to take it into your hand. The helpless abandons himself upon you; you have been the helper for the orphan. ¹⁵ Break the arm of the wicked, and as for the evil man— seek out his wickedness until you find none. ¹⁶ Yahweh is king forever and ever; the nations have perished from his land. ¹⁷ The longing of the afflicted you have heard, O Yahweh. You will make their heart secure. You will _⌊listen attentively_⌋* ¹⁸ to render judgment for the fatherless and the oppressed so that a mere mortal from the earth will no longer cause terror.

⁵ "Because of the oppression of the afflicted, because of the groaning of the poor, now I will rise up," Yahweh says. "I shall put them in the safety for which they* long."

⁴ May he provide justice for the poor of the people, save the children of the needy, and crush the oppressor.

¹² Indeed he will deliver the needy who is crying for help, and the afflicted who has no helper.

³¹ for he stands at the right hand of the needy, to save him from those judging his life.*

⁷ who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food for the hungry. Yahweh sets prisoners free;

³¹ He who oppresses the poor insults him who made him, but he who has mercy on the poor honors him.

²² Do not rob the poor because he is poor, and do not crush the afflicted at the gate; ²³ For Yahweh will plead their case and despoil those who despoil them of life.*

¹⁰ Do not remove an ancient boundary marker, and on the fields of orphans do not encroach;

⁴ that you will take this taunt against the king of Babylon, and you will say: "How the oppressor has ceased! his insolence* has ceased. ⁵ Yahweh has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of rulers, ⁶ that struck the peoples in wrath, a blow without ceasing, that ruled the nations in anger _⌊with unrestrained persecution_⌋.* ⁷ All of the earth rests and is quiet; they break forth into singing. ⁸ Even the cypresses rejoice over you, the cedars of Lebanon: 'Since you were laid down, no wood cutter comes up against us.' ⁹ Sheol below is getting excited over you, to meet _⌊you when you come_⌋;* it arouses the dead spirits for you, all of the leaders of the earth. It raises all of the kings of the nations from their thrones. ¹⁰ All of them will respond and say to you, 'You yourself also were made weak like us! You have become the same as us!' ¹¹ Your pride is brought down to Sheol, and the sound of your harps; maggots* are spread out beneath you like a bed, and your covering is worms.* ¹² How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of dawn! You are cut down to the ground, conqueror of nations! ¹³ And you yourself said in your heart,
'I will ascend to heaven; I will raise up my throne above the stars of God; and I will sit on the mountain of assembly on the summit of Zaphon;* ¹⁴ I will ascend to the high places of the clouds,* I will make myself like the Most High.' ¹⁵ But you are brought down to Sheol, to the depths of the pit. ¹⁶ Those who see you will stare at you, they will look closely at you: 'Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who caused kingdoms to shake, ¹⁷ who made the world like the desert and destroyed its cities, who would not let his prisoners go home?' ¹⁸ All the kings of the nations, all of them, lie in glory, each one in his house. ¹⁹ But as for you, you are thrown away from your grave, like an abhorrent shoot, clothed with the slain, those pierced by the sword, those who go down to the stones of the pit, like a corpse that is trodden down. ²⁰ You will not be united with them in burial because you have destroyed your land, you have killed your people.
The descendants* of evildoers will not be mentioned for eternity! ²¹ Prepare a place of slaughter for his sons because of the sin of their ancestors.* Let them not rise and take possession of the earth or fill up the face of the world with cities." ²² "And I will rise up against them,"
_⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh of hosts,
"and I will cut off name and a remnant from Babylon, and offspring and posterity,"
_⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh. ²³ "And I will make her a possession of the hedgehog, and pools of water, and I will sweep her away with the broom of destruction,"
_⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh of hosts. ²⁴ Yahweh of hosts has sworn, saying,
"_⌊Surely_⌋* just as I have intended, so it shall be. And just as I have planned, it shall stand: ²⁵ to break Assyria in my land, and I will trample him down on my mountains; and he shall remove his yoke from them, and he shall remove his burden from his* shoulders."* ²⁶ This is the plan that is planned concerning all of the earth; and this is the hand that is stretched out over all of the nations. ²⁷ For Yahweh of hosts has planned, and who will frustrate it? And his hand is stretched out, and who will turn it back? ²⁸ In the year of the death of king Ahaz there was this oracle: ²⁹ You must not rejoice, all you Philistines, that the rod that struck you is broken, for a viper will come forth from the root of the snake, and its fruit will be a flying serpent. ³⁰ And the firstborn of the poor will graze, and the needy will lie down in security; but I will cause your root to die in famine, and it will kill your remnant. ³¹ Wail, gate! Cry, city! Melt,* Philistia, all of you! For smoke is coming from the north, and there is no straggler in his ranks. ³² And what will one answer the messengers of the nation?
That Yahweh has founded Zion, and the needy of his people will take refuge in it.

⁶ Is this not the fast I choose: to release the bonds of injustice, to untie the ropes of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free, and _⌊tear_⌋* every yoke to pieces? ⁷ Is it not to break your bread for the hungry? You must bring _⌊home_⌋* the poor, the homeless. When you see the naked, you must cover him, and you must not hide yourself from your _⌊relatives_⌋.*

⁶ you do not oppress the alien, the orphan, and the widow, you do not shed innocent blood in this place, and you do not go after other gods _⌊to your harm_⌋,* ⁷ then I will let you dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your ancestors* _⌊forever and ever_⌋.* ⁸ Look, you are relying for yourselves on _⌊deceitful words_⌋* without benefiting. ⁹ Will you steal? Will you murder? And will you commit adultery? And will you swear _⌊falsely_⌋?* And will you make a smoke offering to the Baal? And will you go after other gods whom you have not known? ¹⁰ And then you come and you stand _⌊before_⌋* me in this house, which is called _⌊by my name_⌋,* and you say, 'we are safe _⌊to go on doing_⌋* all of these detestable things.' ¹¹ Has this house, which is called _⌊by my name_⌋,* become a cave of robbers in your eyes? Look, I, even I, have seen it," * _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh. ¹² "For go now to my place that was in Shiloh, where I caused my name to dwell in the beginning, and see what I did to it _⌊because of_⌋* the wickedness of my people Israel. ¹³ And now, because of your doing all these things," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh, "and _⌊I have spoken to you over and over again_⌋,* and you have not listened, and I called you, and you have not answered, ¹⁴ therefore I will do to the house that is called _⌊by my name_⌋,* in which you are trusting, and to the place that I gave to you and to your ancestors* _⌊what_⌋* I did to Shiloh. ¹⁵ And I will cast you _⌊out of my sight_⌋* just as I cast out all of your blood relatives,* all of the offspring of Ephraim." '

⁷ They have treated father and mother with contempt in you; _⌊they violated_⌋* the alien with* extortion; in the midst of you they mistreated the orphan and widow.

¹² They take a bribe among* you in order to shed blood; and you take usury, and you make gain from your neighbors by extortion, and so you have forgotten me, _⌊declares_⌋* the Lord Yahweh. ¹³ And look! I strike my hand for your ill-gotten gain that you have made and at your blood that was in the midst of you. ¹⁴ Can your heart endure,* or can your hands be strong at the days in which I am dealing with you? I, Yahweh, I have spoken, and I will act!

¹ Woe to those who plan wickedness and evil deeds upon their beds! In the light of the morning they did it, because they have power in their hands. ² They covet fields and seize them, and houses, and they take them away. They oppress a man and his house; a man and his inheritance. ³ Therefore, thus says Yahweh: Look! I am planning disaster against this family from which you will not be able to remove your necks. You will not walk proudly, for it is a time of disaster.

² Those of you who are haters of good and lovers of evil, who tear their skin from them and their flesh from their bones, ³ and who eat the flesh of my people, and strip their skin from them, and break their bones, and chop them like meat in the pot, and like flesh in the midst of a cooking pot." ⁴ Then they will cry to Yahweh, but he will not answer them. He will hide his face from them at that time, when they have made their deeds evil.

⁶ But you have dishonored the poor! Are not the rich exploiting you and they themselves dragging you into the courts?

¹ Come now, you rich people, weep and cry aloud over the miseries that are coming upon you! ² Your wealth has rotted, and your clothing has become moth-eaten. ³ Your gold and silver have become corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you, and it will consume your flesh like fire. You have stored up treasure in the last days. ⁴ Behold, the wages that were held back by you from the workers who reap your fields cry out, and the cries of the reapers have come to the ears of the Lord of hosts. ⁵ You have lived self-indulgently on the earth* and have lived luxuriously. You have fattened your hearts in the day of slaughter. ⁶ You have condemned, you have murdered the righteous person; he does not resist you.

⁸ And all the people together answered and said, "All that Yahweh has spoken we will do." And Moses brought back the words of the people to Yahweh.

²⁰ And Yahweh went down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain, and Yahweh called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.

²¹ And the people stood at a distance, and Moses approached the very thick cloud where God was.

² And Moses _⌊alone_⌋* will come near to Yahweh, and they will not come near, and the people will not go up with him." ³ And Moses came, and he told the people all the words of Yahweh and all the regulations. And all the people answered with one voice, and they said, "All the words that Yahweh has spoken we will do." ⁴ And Moses wrote all the words of Yahweh, and he rose early in the morning, and he built an altar at the base of the mountain and set up twelve memorial stones for the twelve tribes of Israel.

¹³ And now if I have found favor in your eyes, make known to me, please, your way, and so I may know you so that I can find favor in your eyes. And see that this nation is your people."

⁷ Not so with my servant Moses; in all my house he is faithful.

¹⁰ And not again* has a prophet arisen in Israel like Moses, whom Yahweh knew* face to face,

¹⁴ You made known your holy Sabbath to them and gave them commandments, regulations, and law* by the hand of your servant Moses.

²⁰ You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

⁵ For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law* in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors* to teach to their children,

¹¹ They also forgot his deeds, and his wonders that he had shown them.

⁷ He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud. They kept his testimonies and the statute he gave to them.

²⁶ He sent his servant Moses, together with Aaron whom he had chosen. ²⁷ They set before them the words concerning his signs and portents in the land of Ham. ²⁸ He sent darkness and made it dark, and they did not rebel against his words. ²⁹ He turned their waters into blood and it killed their fish. ³⁰ Their land swarmed with frogs, even in the chambers of their kings. ³¹ He spoke, and there came flies and gnats throughout all their territory.* ³² He gave hail for their rains and the fire of lightning in their land. ³³ And he struck their vines and fig trees, and shattered the trees of their territory. ³⁴ He spoke and there came locusts and young locusts without number. ³⁵ And they ate up all the vegetation in their land, and they ate up the fruit of their ground. ³⁶ And he struck down all the firstborn in their land, the first of all their virility. ³⁷ Then he brought them out with silver and gold, and there was none among his tribes who stumbled. ³⁸ Egypt was glad when they departed, because the fear of them* had fallen upon them. ³⁹ He spread out a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light at night. ⁴⁰ They* asked, and he brought quail, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven. ⁴¹ He opened the rock and waters flowed; they coursed* through the dry places like a river. ⁴² For he remembered his holy _⌊promise_⌋;* he remembered Abraham his servant. ⁴³ And so he brought out his people with joy, his chosen ones with rejoicing. ⁴⁴ And he gave to them the lands of the nations, and they inherited the labor of the peoples, ⁴⁵ so that they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. ¹⁹ He declares his word to Jacob, his statutes and his ordinances to Israel.

¹¹ Then* his people remembered the days of old, of Moses. Where is the one who led up them from the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is the one who puts _⌊his Holy Spirit_⌋* inside him, ¹² _⌊who made_⌋* his magnificent arm move _⌊at_⌋* the right hand of Moses, _⌊who divided_⌋* the waters _⌊before them_⌋,* to make an everlasting name for himself,

⁴⁵ Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father! The one who accuses you is Moses, in whom you have put your hope! ⁴⁶ For if you had believed Moses, you would believe me, for that one wrote about me. ⁴⁷ But if you do not believe that one's writings, how will you believe my words?"

³⁵ This Moses whom they had repudiated, saying, 'Who appointed you a ruler and a judge?'*—this man God sent as both ruler and redeemer with _⌊the help_⌋* of the angel who appeared to him in the bush. ³⁶ This man led them out, performing wonders and signs in the land of Egypt and at the Red Sea and in the wilderness for forty years. ³⁷ "This is the Moses who said to the sons of Israel, 'God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers.'* ³⁸ This is the one who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him at Mount Sinai, and who with our fathers received living oracles to give to us, ³⁹ to whom our fathers were not willing to become obedient, but rejected him* and turned back in their hearts to Egypt, ⁴⁰ saying to Aaron, 'Make us gods who will go on before us! For this Moses, who led us out from the land of Egypt—we do not know what has happened to him!'* ⁴¹ And they manufactured a calf in those days, and offered up a sacrifice to the idol, and began rejoicing* in the works of their hands. ⁴² But God turned away and gave them over to worship the host of heaven, just as it is written in the book of the prophets:
'You did not bring offerings and sacrifices to me for forty years in the wilderness, did you,* house of Israel? ⁴³ And you took along the tabernacle* of Moloch and the star of the god* Rephan, the images that you made, to worship them, and I will deport you beyond Babylon!'* ⁴⁴ The tabernacle of the testimony _⌊belonged_⌋* to our fathers in the wilderness, just as the one who spoke to Moses directed him* to make it according to the design that he had seen, ⁴⁵ and which, after* receiving it* in turn, our fathers brought in with Joshua _⌊when they dispossessed the_⌋* nations that God drove out from the presence of our fathers, until the days of David, ⁴⁶ who found favor in the sight of God and asked to find a habitation for the God of Jacob.* ⁴⁷ But Solomon built a house for him. ⁴⁸ But the Most High does not live in houses* made by human hands, just as the prophet says, ⁴⁹ 'Heaven is my throne and earth is the footstool for my feet. What kind of house will you build for me, says the Lord, or what is the place of my rest? ⁵⁰ Did not my hand make all these things?'* ⁵¹ "You stiff-necked people and uncircumcised in hearts and in your* ears! You constantly resist the Holy Spirit! As your fathers did, so also do you! ⁵² Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand about the coming of the Righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become, ⁵³ you who received the law by directions of angels and have not observed it!" ⁵⁴ Now when they* heard these things, they were infuriated in their hearts and gnashed their* teeth at him. ⁵⁵ But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, looked intently into heaven and* saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. ⁵⁶ And he said, "Behold, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!" ⁵⁷ But crying out with a loud voice, they stopped their ears and rushed at him with one purpose. ⁵⁸ And after they* had driven him* out of the city, they began to stone* him,* and the witnesses laid aside their cloaks at the feet of a young man named Saul. ⁵⁹ And they kept on stoning Stephen as he* was calling out and saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!" ⁶⁰ And falling to his* knees, he cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them!" And after he* said this, he fell asleep.*

⁶ And Yahweh passed over before him, and he proclaimed, "Yahweh, Yahweh, God, who is compassionate and gracious, _⌊slow to anger_⌋,* and abounding with* loyal love and faithfulness, ⁷ keeping loyal love to the thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and he does not leave utterly unpunished, punishing the guilt of fathers on sons and on sons of sons on third and fourth generations."

¹⁸ 'Yahweh is _⌊slow to anger_⌋* and great of loyal love, _⌊forgiving_⌋* sin and rebellion; but surely he leaves nothing unpunished, visiting the sin of the fathers on the sons to the third and fourth generations.'

¹⁰ but showing loyal love to thousands of those who love me and of those who keep my commandments.

¹⁷ They refused to listen and did not remember your wonders that you did among them. They stiffened their neck and in their rebellion _⌊determined_⌋* to return to their slavery. But you are a God of forgiveness, gracious and compassionate, _⌊slow to anger_⌋,* abundant in loyal love, so you did not abandon them.

⁵ For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, and abundant in loyal love* for all who call to you.

¹⁵ But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, _⌊slow to anger_⌋* and abundant in loyal love and faithfulness.

⁷ O Israel, wait* for Yahweh. For with Yahweh there is loyal love, and with him there is abundant redemption.

⁸ Yahweh is gracious and compassionate, _⌊slow to anger_⌋* and great in loyal love.

⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way, and the man of sin his thoughts. And let him return to Yahweh, that* he may take pity on him, and to our God, for he will _⌊forgive manifold_⌋.*

¹⁸ showing loyal love to the thousands, and repaying the guilt of _⌊parents_⌋* into the laps* of their children after them. Powerful, great, mighty, his name is Yahweh of hosts,

¹³ Rend your hearts* and not your garments, and return to Yahweh your God, because he is gracious and compassionate, _⌊slow to anger_⌋* and great in loyal love, and relenting from harm.

² And he prayed to Yahweh and said, "O Yahweh, was this not _⌊what I said_⌋* while I was in my homeland? Therefore _⌊I originally fled_⌋* to Tarshish, because I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger _⌊and having great steadfast love_⌋,* and one who relents concerning calamity.*

³ Yahweh is slow to anger but great in power; he will certainly not allow the guilty to go unpunished. _⌊He marches_⌋* in storm wind and in gale; storm clouds are the dust of his feet.

²⁰ Now the law came in as a side issue, in order that the trespass could increase, but where sin increased, grace was present in greater abundance, ²¹ so that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁷ in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace, ⁸ that he caused to abound to us in all wisdom and insight,

¹¹ Behold, we consider blessed those who have endured. You have heard about the patient endurance of Job, and you saw the outcome from the Lord, that the Lord is compassionate and merciful.

⁵ For there is a moment in his anger; there is a lifetime in his favor. Weeping lodges for the evening, but in the morning comes rejoicing.

¹⁶ For I will not attack forever, and I will not be angry forever, for the spirit will grow faint before me, and the breaths that I myself I have made.

⁵ Will he be angry _⌊forever_⌋?* Will he maintain it _⌊always_⌋'?* Look, you have spoken, but you have done all the evil that you could."*

¹² Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and say,
'Return, apostate* Israel,' _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh. 'I will not cause my _⌊anger_⌋* to fall on you. For I am loyal,' _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh. 'I will not be angry _⌊forever_⌋.*

¹⁸ Who is a God like you, forgiving sin and passing over rebellion for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, for he delights in loyal love. ¹⁹ _⌊He will again have compassion_⌋* on us; he will trample our iniquities. And you will hurl all their sins in the depths of the sea.

¹³ After all that has come upon us for our evil practices and for our great guilt—you, our God, have held back less than our guilt deserved and you have given us a remainder such as this.

³¹ But in your great compassions you did not put an end to them, and you did not abandon them. For you are a gracious and compassionate God.

⁶ and that he would tell you the secrets of wisdom, for _⌊insight has many sides_⌋.* And know that God _⌊on your behalf_⌋* has forgotten _⌊some of_⌋* your guilt.

³ If you, O Yah,* should _⌊keep track of_⌋* iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?

²² The loyal love of Yahweh does not cease; his compassions do not come to an end.

¹⁸ Incline your ear, my God, and listen; open your eyes and look at our desolation and the city that is called by your name, for we are not presenting our pleas for mercy _⌊before you_⌋* because of our righteousness, but rather because of your great compassion. ¹⁹ Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, pay heed and act! You must not delay _⌊for your sake_⌋,* my God; because _⌊your city and your people are called by your name_⌋."*

² O Yahweh, I have heard the report of you; O Yahweh, I stand in awe of your works. In the midst of the years, revive it! In the midst of the years, make it known! In wrath, may you remember to show compassion.

¹² "Is not God in the height of the heavens? But* see how lofty are _⌊the highest stars_⌋.*

⁵ O Yahweh, your loyal love extends into the heavens, your faithfulness unto the clouds.

¹⁰ Because your loyal love is high to the heavens, and your faithfulness to the clouds.

² For I say, "Forever your loyal love is built up. The heavens you have established with your faithfulness in them."

¹⁷ But the loyal love of Yahweh is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to their children's children,

³ As heaven is to height and the earth is to depth, so is the heart* of kings—there is no searching.

⁹ "For as the heavens are _⌊higher_⌋* than the earth, so my ways are _⌊higher_⌋* than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

⁵⁰ And his mercy is for generation after generation to those who fear him.

⁴ But God, being rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us, ⁵ and we being dead in trespasses, he made us alive together with Christ (by grace you are saved), ⁶ and raised us together and seated us together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, ⁷ in order that he might show in the coming ages the surpassing riches of his grace in kindness upon us in Christ Jesus.

¹⁸ in order that you may be strong enough to grasp together with all the saints what is the breadth, and length, and height, and depth, ¹⁹ and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, in order that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

The Supreme God, God, Yahweh, has spoken and summoned the earth, from the rising of the sun to its setting.

³ From the rising of the sun to its setting, let the name of Yahweh be blessed.

¹⁷ Look! Bitterness was bitter to me for peace. And you were the one who loved* my life from the pit of destruction, for you have cast all my sins behind your back.

⁶ so that they may know from the rising of the sun and from the west that there is none besides me; I am Yahweh and there is none besides me.

³⁴ And they will no longer teach each one his neighbor, or each one his brother, _⌊saying_⌋,* 'Know Yahweh,' for all of them will know me, from their _⌊smallest_⌋* and up to their _⌊greatest_⌋,"* _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh, "for I will forgive their iniquity and their sin I will no longer remember."

²⁰ In those days and at that time," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh, "the guilt of Israel will be sought, but there is none, and the sins of Judah, but they will not be found, for I will forgive those I left behind.

¹⁸ Who is a God like you, forgiving sin and passing over rebellion for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, for he delights in loyal love.

² For otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the ones who worship, having been purified once and for all, would no longer have any consciousness of sins?

⁷ But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

¹² Did I conceive all these people? If I have fathered them,* that you could say to me, 'Carry them* in your lap, just as a foster-father carries the suckling on the land that you swore an oath to their ancestors?'*

⁵ All of these were fortified towns with high walls, gates, and bars,* _⌊apart from_⌋* very many of the villages of the open country.

¹¹ For as the heavens are high above the earth, so his loyal love prevails over those who fear him.

¹¹ Yahweh takes pleasure in those who fear him, the ones who hope* for his loyal love.

¹² because whomever Yahweh will love, he will rebuke, as a father delights in his son.

¹⁵ Look from heaven, and see from the lofty residence of your holiness and glory. Where are your zeal and strength? _⌊Your compassion_⌋* and mercy to me hold themselves back. ¹⁶ For you are our father, although Abraham does not know us, and Israel does not acknowledge us. You, Yahweh are our father, Our Redeemer from of old is your name.

⁹ With weeping they will come, and with pleas for mercy I will bring them; I will let them walk by streams of water in a straight path. They will not stumble in it, for I have become to Israel a father, and Ephraim, he is my firstborn."

²⁰ Is Ephraim my dear son, or the child of my delight? For _⌊as often as_⌋* I have earnestly spoken against him, I still remember him. _⌊Therefore_⌋* my bowels are turbulent for him, surely I will have compassion on him," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh.

¹⁶ Then those who revered* Yahweh spoke _⌊with one another_⌋.* And Yahweh listened attentively* and heard, and a scroll of remembrance was written _⌊before him_⌋* of those who revere* Yahweh and ponder his name. ¹⁷ "They will be mine," says Yahweh of hosts, "on the day that I am acting, my treasured possession. I will have compassion on them as a man has compassion on his son who serves him.

² But for you who revere* my name, the sun of righteousness will rise, with healing in its wings, and you will go out and leap like _⌊fattened calves_⌋.*

⁹ Therefore you pray in this way:
"Our Father who is in heaven, may your name be treated as holy.

³² for the pagans seek after all these things. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

¹¹ But what father from among you, if his* son will ask for a fish, instead of a fish will give him a snake? ¹² Or also, if he will ask for an egg, will give him a scorpion?

²¹ And his* son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and _⌊in your sight_⌋!* I am no longer worthy to be called your son!' ²² But his* father said to his slaves, 'Quickly bring out the best robe and put it* on him, and put a ring on his finger* and sandals on his* feet!

¹⁷ Jesus said to her, "Do not touch me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, and my God and your God.'"

²⁶ "Men and brothers, sons of the family of Abraham and those among you who fear God—to us the message of this salvation has been sent!

⁵ And have you completely forgotten the exhortation which instructs you as sons?
"My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, or give up when you are corrected by him. ⁶ For the Lord disciplines the one whom he loves, and punishes every son whom he accepts."* ⁷ Endure it for discipline. God is dealing with you as sons. For what son is there whom a father does not discipline? ⁸ But if you are without discipline, in which all legitimate sons* have become participants, then you are illegitimate and not sons. ⁹ Furthermore, we have had _⌊our earthly fathers_⌋* who disciplined us, and we respected them. Will we not much rather subject ourselves to the Father of spirits and live? ¹⁰ For they disciplined us for a few days according to what seemed appropriate to them, but he does so for our benefit, in order that we can have a share in his holiness. ¹¹ Now all discipline seems for the moment not to be joyful but painful, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness for those who are trained by it.

¹⁹ By the sweat of your brow* you shall eat bread, until your return to the ground. For from it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return."

⁵ My body is clothed with maggots and clods of dust; my skin hardens, then* it gives way again. ⁶ "My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, and they come to an end _⌊without hope_⌋.* ⁷ Remember that my life is a breath; my eye will not return to see good.

²¹ And why do you not pardon my transgression and take away my guilt? For now I shall lie in the dust, and you will seek me, but* _⌊I will be no more_⌋."*

⁹ Please* remember that you made me like clay, but* you turn me into dust again?

²⁵ Will you* terrify a blown leaf? And will you* pursue dry stubble?

³⁸ But he was compassionate; he pardoned* their guilt and did not destroy them. And many times he turned back his anger and did not stir up all his wrath, ³⁹ for he remembered that they were flesh, a passing wind that does not return.

⁴⁷ Remember what my lifespan is. Remember for what vanity you have created all the children of humankind.

⁷ And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the breath returns to God who gave it.

¹⁶ Your perversity! As if _⌊a potter_⌋* shall be regarded as the clay! That the product of its maker says, "He did not make me," and the thing made into shape says of its _⌊potter_⌋,* "He has no understanding."

¹ "A human being born of a woman is short of days and full of troubles.* ² Like a flower he comes up, and he withers away; and he flees like a* shadow, but* he does not last. ³ Even on such a one you fix your eyes, and you bring me into judgment with you.

⁵ You sweep them away like a flood. They fall asleep.* In the morning they are like grass that sprouts anew. ⁶ In the morning it blossoms and sprouts anew; by evening it withers and dries up.

¹ Ah! The garland of the pride of the drunkards of Ephraim and the withering flower of the glory of his beauty, which is at the head of _⌊the rich valley_⌋,* _⌊ones overcome_⌋* with wine!

⁴ and the withering flower of the glory of its beauty which is at the head of _⌊the rich valley_⌋* will be like its early fig before summer, _⌊which the one who sees it swallows_⌋* while it is still in his hand.

⁶ A voice is saying, "Call!" And he said, "What shall I call?" All _⌊humankind_⌋* are grass, and all his loyalty is like the flowers of the field. ⁷ Grass withers; the flower withers when the breath of Yahweh blows on it. Surely the people are grass. ⁸ Grass withers; the flower withers, but* the word of our God will stand forever.

¹² "I, I am he who comforts you; who are you that* you are afraid of man? He dies! And of the son of humankind? He is _⌊sacrificed_⌋* as grass!

⁴ He rebukes the sea and he dries up the rivers; he makes all the rivers run dry. Bashan and Carmel wither;* the blossom of Lebanon languishes.

¹⁰ but the rich person in his humiliation, because he will pass away like a flower of the grass. ¹¹ For the sun rises with its burning heat and dries up the grass, and its flower falls off, and the beauty of its appearance is lost. So also the rich person in his pursuits* will wither away.

²⁴ For
"all flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flower of the grass. The grass withers and the flower falls off,

²⁴ And Enoch walked with God, and he was no more, for God took him.

⁶ "My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, and they come to an end _⌊without hope_⌋.* ⁷ Remember that my life is a breath; my eye will not return to see good. ⁸ The eye of the one seeing me will not see me; your eyes are upon me, but* _⌊I will be gone_⌋.* ⁹ A cloud vanishes, and it goes away, so he who goes down to Sheol will not come up. ¹⁰ He does not return again to his house, and his place does not recognize him again.

⁶ Lift up your eyes to the heavens and look to the earth beneath, for the heavens will be torn to pieces like smoke, and the earth will be worn out like a garment, and those who inhabit her will die like gnats. But* my salvation will be forever, and my righteousness will not be broken to pieces.

³ From afar Yahweh appeared to me, saying, "I have loved you with an everlasting love. _⌊Therefore_⌋* I have drawn you with loyal love.

²⁴ "Have you not seen how these people speak, _⌊saying_⌋,* 'The two clans* whom Yahweh chose, he has also rejected them'? Thus they spurn my people from being a nation _⌊before them_⌋* any longer. ²⁵ Thus says Yahweh: 'If my covenant with day and with night, the regulations of heaven and earth, I had not established, ²⁶ then the offspring of Jacob and David my servant I would reject, from choosing rulers from his offspring over the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; for I will restore their fortunes* and I will have compassion on them.'"

⁵ O my people, remember what Balak the king of Moab devised, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him, and what happened from Shittim to Gilgal, so that you might know the righteous acts of Yahweh."

³² And we proclaim the good news to you: that the promise that was made to the fathers, ³³ this promise* God has fulfilled to our children* by* raising Jesus, as it is also written in the second psalm,
'You are my Son; today I have fathered you.'* ³⁴ But that he has raised him from the dead, no more going to return to decay, he has spoken in this way: 'I will give you the reliable divine decrees of David.'*

¹⁷ For the righteousness of God is revealed in it from faith to faith, just as it is written, "But the one who is righteous by faith will live."*

²¹ But now, apart from the law, the righteousness of God has been revealed, being testified about by the law and the prophets— ²² that is, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ* to all who believe. ⁸ For I say, Christ has become a servant of the circumcision on behalf of the truth of God, in order to confirm the promises to the fathers,

²³ Watch out for yourselves so that you do not forget the covenant of Yahweh your God that he had _⌊made_⌋* with you and make for yourselves a divine image of the form of anything that Yahweh your God _⌊has forbidden_⌋,*

⁶ And these words that I am commanding you _⌊today_⌋* shall be on* your heart.* ⁷ And you shall recite them to your children, and you shall talk about them at the time of your living in your house and at the time of your going on the road and at the time of your lying down and at the time of your rising up. ⁸ And you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as an emblem between your eyes. ⁹ And you shall write them on the doorframe of your house and on your gates.

⁹ So know that Yahweh your God, he is God, the trustworthy God, maintaining his* covenant and his* loyal love with those who love him and with those who keep his commandments to a thousand generations,*

³¹ And the king stood at his position. And he made the covenant before Yahweh, to walk after Yahweh and to keep his commands and statutes and regulations with all his heart and with all his soul, to do the words of the covenant that were written on this scroll.

¹⁰ All the paths of Yahweh are loyal love and faithfulness for those who keep his covenant and statutes.*

⁹ How can a young man keep his way pure? By taking heed according to your word. ¹⁰ With my whole heart I have sought you; do not let me stray from your commands. ¹¹ In my heart I have hidden your word,* so that I may not sin against you.

¹² If your sons will heed my covenant and my testimonies that I will teach them, their sons also forever will sit on your throne."

¹ My child, do not forget my instruction, and may your heart guard my commands.

²⁰ teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the age."

⁶ And they were both righteous in the sight of God, living blamelessly in all the commandments and regulations of the Lord.

¹⁶ _⌊For this reason_⌋* also I myself _⌊always_⌋* do my best to have a clear conscience toward God and people.

¹ Finally therefore, brothers, we ask you and appeal to you in the Lord Jesus that, just as you have received from us how it is necessary for you to live and to please God, just as indeed you are living, that you progress even more.

⁶ But now he has attained a more excellent ministry, by as much as he is also mediator of a better covenant which has been enacted upon better promises. ⁷ For if that first covenant had been faultless, occasion would not have been sought for a second. ⁸ For in finding fault with them he says,
"Behold, days are coming, says the Lord, when I will complete a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, ⁹ not like the covenant which I made with their fathers on the day I took hold of them by my hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, because they did not continue in my covenant and I disregarded them, says the Lord. ¹⁰ For this is the covenant that I will decree with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I am putting my laws in their minds and I will write them on their hearts, and I will be _⌊their_⌋* God and they will be _⌊my_⌋* people. ¹¹ And they will not teach each one his fellow citizen and each one his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. ¹² For I will be merciful toward their wrongdoings, and I will not remember their sins any longer." ¹³ In calling it new, he has declared the former to be old. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is near to disappearing.

⁴ He who sits enthroned in the heavens laughs. The Lord derides them.

⁷ But Yahweh sits enthroned forever. He has established his throne for judgment.

⁴ Yahweh is in his holy temple; Yahweh is in the heavens on his throne. His eyelids see; they test the children of humankind.

² For Yahweh Most High is awesome,* a great king over all the earth.

³ But our God is in the heavens; all that he desires, he does.

¹ Thus says Yahweh:
"Heaven is my throne, and the earth is the footstool for my feet. Where is this house that you would build for me? And where is this resting place for me?

¹⁷ The sentence is by the decree of the watchers, and the decision by the command of the holy ones, _⌊in order that_⌋* the living will know that the Most High is sovereign over the kingdom of humankind, and _⌊to whomever_⌋* he wills he gives it, and he even sets the humblest of men over it."

²⁵ you will be driven away _⌊from human society_⌋* and _⌊you will dwell_⌋* with the animals* of the field, and you will be caused to graze grass like the oxen _⌊yourself_⌋,* and you will be watered with the dew of heaven, and seven periods of time will pass over you until that you have acknowledged that the Most High is sovereign over the kingdom of humankind, and _⌊to whom he wills_⌋* he gives it.

¹⁹ And he* said, "Therefore, hear the word of Yahweh. I saw Yahweh sitting on his throne with all the hosts of heaven standing beside him from his right hand and from his left hand.

¹⁸ Then Micaiah said, "Therefore hear the word of Yahweh: I saw Yahweh sitting upon his throne with all the host of heaven standing on his right and on his left.

⁶ "You alone are Yahweh. You alone have made the heavens, the heavens of the heavens, and all of their army, the earth and all that is in it, the waters and all that is in them. You give life to all of them, and the army of the heavens worship you.

⁶ By the word of Yahweh the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host.

¹⁷ The chariots of God are twice ten thousand, with thousands doubled. The Lord is among them at Sinai, distinctive in victory.*

⁴ who makes his messengers the winds, his attendants a flame of fire.

⁹ "_⌊I continued watching_⌋* until thrones were placed and an Ancient of Days sat; his clothing was like white snow and the hair of his head was like pure wool and his throne was a flame* of fire and its wheels* were burning fire. ¹⁰ A stream of fire issued forth and flowed _⌊from his presence_⌋;* thousands upon thousands served him and ten thousand upon ten thousand stood before him. The judge sat, and the books were opened.

⁴¹ The Son of Man will send out his angels and they will gather out of his kingdom all the causes of sin and those who do lawless deeds,

³⁰ And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven,* and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man arriving on the clouds of heaven* with power and great glory. ³¹ And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect together from the four winds, from one end of heaven* to the other end of it.

⁷ and to you who are being afflicted, rest with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his powerful angels, ⁸ with burning flame* giving punishment to those who do not know God and who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus,
