⁷ that they might set their confidence in God, and not forget the deeds of God, but keep his commandments,

²⁴ "And you will keep this event as a rule for you and for your children forever.* ²⁵ _⌊And_⌋* when you come into the land that Yahweh will give to you, as he said, you will keep this _⌊religious custom_⌋.* ²⁶ _⌊And_⌋* when your children say to you, 'What is this _⌊religious custom_⌋* for you?'* ²⁷ you will say, 'It is a Passover sacrifice for Yahweh, who passed over the houses of the _⌊Israelites_⌋* in Egypt when he struck Egypt; and he delivered our houses.'" And the people knelt down and they worshiped.

⁹ "However, _⌊take care_⌋* for yourself and watch your inner self* closely, so that you do not forget the things that your eyes have seen, so that they do not slip from your mind all the days of your life; and you shall make them known to your children and to _⌊your grandchildren_⌋.*

²⁹ _⌊If only_⌋* _⌊they had such a mind_⌋';* that is, to fear me and to keep all my commandments _⌊at all times_⌋,* so that _⌊it will go well_⌋* for them and for their children _⌊forever_⌋.*

¹² then take care for yourself, so that you do not forget Yahweh, who brought you out from the land of Egypt from the house of slavery.

¹⁸ then remember you must not be afraid of them; you must well remember what Yahweh your God did to Pharaoh and to all of Egypt: ¹⁹ the great trials that your eyes saw and the signs and the wonders and the workings of the strong hand and the outstretched arm by which Yahweh your God brought you out; so Yahweh your God will do to all of the peoples _⌊because of whom_⌋* you are in fear _⌊before them_⌋.*

² And you shall remember all of the way that Yahweh your God led you during these forty years in the desert in order to humble you and to test you to know what is in your heart, whether you would diligently keep his commandments or not.

¹¹ "Take care for yourself so that you not forget Yahweh your God by not keeping his commandments and his regulations and his statutes that I am commanding you _⌊today_⌋,*

²⁷ the Jews established and adopted it for themselves and for their offspring, and for all who joined them. They did not neglect _⌊to observe_⌋* these two days every year as it was written and appointed to them. ²⁸ These days are to be remembered and are to be kept in every generation, and in family, province, and city; and these days of Purim are not to be neglected among the Jews, and their memory shall not come to an end among their offspring.

⁴ Blessed is the man who makes Yahweh his trust and does not turn to the proud and to those who fall away to a lie.*

⁵ Only for God wait in silence, O my soul, because my hope is from him.

¹⁰ So I said, "This pierces me—* the right hand of the Most High has changed." ¹¹ I will remember the deeds of Yah.* Surely I will remember your wonders* from long ago. ¹² I will also muse on all your work, and meditate on your deeds.

¹⁴ Because he loves me, therefore I will deliver him; I will protect* him because he knows my name.

² Bless Yahweh, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefits:

⁵ Remember his wonders that he has done, his signs and the judgments of his mouth,

⁶ My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning. Yes, more than watchmen for the morning. ⁷ O Israel, wait* for Yahweh. For with Yahweh there is loyal love, and with him there is abundant redemption.

⁵ Blessed is the one whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is on Yahweh as his God,

⁷ Blessed be the person who trusts in Yahweh, and Yahweh is his trust. ⁸ For he will be like a tree planted by water, and to the stream it sends its roots, and it will not fear when heat comes, and its leaves* will be luxuriant, and in the year of drought it will not be anxious, and it will not cease from the bearing of fruit.

²¹ The one who has my commandments and keeps them—that one is the one who loves me. And the one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will reveal myself to him." ²² Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, "Lord, why* is it that you are going to reveal yourself to us and not to the world?" ²³ Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves me he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and _⌊will take up residence with him_⌋.* ²⁴ The one who does not love me does not keep my words, and the word that you hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.

²⁴ and after he* had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me."

²¹ who through him are believing in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

²² and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what is pleasing _⌊in his sight_⌋*. ²³ And this is his commandment: that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as _⌊he commanded us_⌋*. ²⁴ And the one who keeps his commandments resides in him, and he in him. And by this we know that he resides in us: by the Spirit whom he has given to us.

³ For this is the love of God: that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome,
