¹ And when he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. ² And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. ³ And another angel who had a golden censer came and stood at the altar, and a large amount of incense was given to him, in order that he could offer the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar that is before the throne. ⁴ And the smoke of the incense went up before God with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel. ⁵ And the angel took the censer and filled it with the fire from the altar and threw it to the earth, and there were thunders and sounds and lightnings and an earthquake. ⁶ And the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves in order to blow them. ⁷ And the first blew the trumpet, and there was hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was thrown to the earth, and a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up. ⁸ And the second angel blew the trumpet, and something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood, ⁹ and a third of the creatures in the sea—the ones which had life—died, and a third of the ships were destroyed. ¹⁰ And the third angel blew the trumpet, and a great star burning like a torch fell from heaven, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. ¹¹ And the name of the star was called Wormwood, and a third of the waters became wormwood, and many people died from the waters because they were made bitter. ¹² And the fourth angel blew the trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened, and the day did not shine with respect to a third of it, and the night likewise. ¹³ And I looked, and I heard one eagle flying _⌊directly overhead_⌋*, saying with a loud voice, "Woe, woe, woe to those who live on the earth, from the remaining sounds of the trumpets of the three angels who are about to blow the trumpet!"

¹⁶ It stood still, but* I could not recognize its appearance; a form was _⌊before_⌋* my eyes; there was a hush, and I heard a voice:

⁷ Be quiet before Yahweh and wait for him. Do not fret about one who succeeds in his way, about a man making plots.

¹ For the music director, on Jeduthun.* A psalm of David.*
Only for God my soul waits in silence. From him is my salvation.

²⁰ But Yahweh is in his holy temple. Let all the earth be silent before him."

¹³ Be silent, _⌊all people_⌋,* before Yahweh, for he is roused from _⌊his holy dwelling_⌋."*

¹ And I saw in the right hand of the one who is seated on the throne a scroll, written inside and on the back, sealed up with seven seals.

⁹ And they were singing a new song, saying,
"You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slaughtered, and bought people for God by your blood from every tribe and language and people and nation,

¹ And I watched when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying like the sound of thunder, "Come!"

³ And when he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come!"

⁵ And when he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, "Come!" And I looked, and behold, a black horse, and the one seated on it had a balance scale in his hand.

⁷ And when he opened the fourth seal, I heard a voice from the fourth living creature saying, "Come!"

⁹ And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slaughtered because of the word of God and because of the testimony which they had,

¹² And I watched when he opened the sixth seal, and a great earthquake took place, and the sun became black like sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood,

¹ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, ² "Make yourself two silver trumpets; make them of hammered-work. _⌊You will use them_⌋* for calling the community and for breaking the camp. ³ You will blow them, and all the community will assemble to the doorway of the tent of assembly. ⁴ But if they blow only one, the leaders, the heads of the thousands of Israel, will assemble to you. ⁵ When you will blow a blast, the camps that are camping on the east will set out; ⁶ when you blow a second blast, the camps that are camping on the south will set out; they will blow a blast for their journeys. ⁷ But when summoning the assembly, you will blow, but you will not signal with a loud noise. ⁸ The sons of Aaron, the priests, will blow on the trumpets; this will be an eternal decree for your generations. ⁹ If you go to war in your land against the enemy who attacks you, you will signal with a loud noise on the trumpets. You will be remembered _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh your God, and you will be rescued from your enemies. ¹⁰ "And on the day of your joy and in your appointed times, at the beginning of your months, you will blow on the trumpets in addition to your burnt offerings and in addition to the sacrifices of your fellowship offerings. And they will be as a memorial for you _⌊before_⌋* your God; I am Yahweh your God."

²⁵ And he stood the Levites in the house of Yahweh with cymbals, harps, and lyres, according to the command of David and Gad, the seer of the king, and Nathan the prophet, for the command was by the hand of Yahweh by the hand of his prophets. ²⁶ When the Levites stood with the objects of David and the priests with the trumpets, ²⁷ Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering upon the altar. And at the time the burnt offering began, the song of Yahweh began, and also the trumpets, at the hands of the instruments of David king of Israel. ²⁸ Then all the assembly bowed down, and the song was sung, and the trumpeters trumpeted—all together until the end of the burnt offering.

⁶ Or is a horn blown in a city and people are not afraid? Or does a disaster occur in the city and Yahweh has not done it? ⁷ Surely my Lord does not do anything unless he has revealed his secret to his servants the prophets. ⁸ A lion has roared! Who is not afraid? My Lord Yahweh has spoken, who will not prophesy?

¹⁰ "See to it that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that their angels in heaven constantly see the face of my Father who is in heaven.*

¹⁹ And the angel answered and* said to him, "I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to you and to announce to you this good news.

⁶ And the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves in order to blow them.

¹³ And the sixth angel blew the trumpet, and I heard one voice from the horns* of the golden altar that is before God ¹⁴ saying to the sixth angel, the one who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who have been bound at the great river Euphrates!"

¹⁵ And the seventh angel blew the trumpet, and there was a loud voice in heaven saying,
"The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign _⌊forever and ever_⌋*."

¹ And I saw another great and marvelous sign in heaven: seven angels having seven plagues that are the last ones, because with them the wrath of God is completed.

¹ And I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, "Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God."

¹⁵ And he blessed Joseph and said,
"The God before whom my fathers, Abraham and Isaac, walked, The God who shepherded me _⌊all my life_⌋* unto this day, ¹⁶ The angel who redeemed me from all evil, may he bless the boys. And through them let my name be perpetuated,* and the name of my fathers, Abraham and Isaac. And let them multiply into many in the midst of the earth.

² And the angel of Yahweh appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush, and he looked, and there was the bush burning with fire, but the bush was not being consumed. ³ And Moses said, "Let me turn aside and see this great sight. Why does the bush not burn up?" ⁴ And Yahweh saw that he turned aside to see, and God called to him from the midst of the bush, and he said, "Moses, Moses." And he said, "Here I am." ⁵ And he said, "You must not come near to here. Take off your sandals from on your feet, because the place on which you are standing, it is holy ground." ⁶ And he said, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face because he was afraid of looking at God. ⁷ And Yahweh said, "Surely I have seen the misery of my people who are in Egypt, and I have heard their cry of distress because of their oppressors, for I know their sufferings. ⁸ And I have come down to deliver them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up from this land to a good and wide land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites* and the Hittites* and the Amorites* and the Perizzites* and the Hivites* and the Jebusites.* ⁹ And now, look, the cry of distress of the _⌊Israelites_⌋* has come to me, and also I see the oppression with which the Egyptians are oppressing them. ¹⁰ And now come, and I will send you to Pharaoh, and you must bring my people, the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* out from Egypt." ¹¹ But Moses said to God, "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and that I should bring the _⌊Israelites_⌋* out from Egypt?" ¹² And he said, "Because I am with you, and this will be the sign for you that I myself have sent you: When you bring the people out from Egypt, you will serve God on this mountain." ¹³ But Moses said to God, "Look, if I go to the _⌊Israelites_⌋* and I say to them, 'The God of your ancestors* has sent me to you,' and they say to me, 'What is his name?' then what shall I say to them?" ¹⁴ And God said to Moses, "I am that I am." And he said, "So you must say to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* 'I am sent me to you.'" ¹⁵ And God said again to Moses, "So you must say to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* 'Yahweh, the God of your ancestors,* the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is my name forever, and this is my remembrance from generation to generation.' ¹⁶ Go and gather the elders of Israel and say to them, 'Yahweh, the God of your ancestors,* appeared to me, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, "I have carefully attended to you and what has been done to you in Egypt." ¹⁷ And I said, "I will bring you up from the misery of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites* and the Hittites* and the Amorites* and the Perizzites* and the Hivites* and the Jebusites,* to a land flowing with milk and honey." ' ¹⁸ And they will listen to your voice, and you will go, you and the elders of Israel, to the king of Egypt, and you will say to him, 'Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews has met with us, and now let us please go on a journey of three days into the desert, and let us sacrifice to Yahweh our God.'

¹ "And you will make an altar for burning incense; you will make it of acacia wood, ² a cubit its length and a cubit its width—it will be square—and two cubits its height, its horns _⌊of one piece with it_⌋.* ³ And you will overlay it with pure gold, its top and its sides all around and its horns, and you will make for it a gold molding all around. ⁴ And you will make two gold rings for it; under its molding _⌊on two opposite sides_⌋* you will make them as _⌊holders_⌋* for poles to carry it with them. ⁵ You will make the poles of acacia wood, and you will overlay them with gold. ⁶ And you will put it before the curtain that is upon the ark of the testimony, before the atonement cover, which is on the testimony, there where I will meet with you. ⁷ "And on it Aaron will turn fragrant incense into smoke; _⌊each morning_⌋* when he tends the lamps, he will turn it into smoke. ⁸ And when Aaron sets up the lamps _⌊at twilight_⌋,* he will turn it into smoke—incense of continuity—before Yahweh throughout your generations.

²⁵ And he made the incense altar of acacia wood, a cubit its length and a cubit its width—a square—and two cubits its height; its horns were _⌊of one piece with it_⌋.* ²⁶ And he overlaid it with pure gold—its top and its sides all around and its horns—and he made for it a gold molding all around.

²⁶ And he placed the gold altar in the tent of assembly before the curtain.

¹² And he shall take a* censer full of _⌊burning charcoal_⌋* from upon the altar from _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh and _⌊two handfuls_⌋* of incense of powdered fragrant perfumes, and he shall bring it _⌊from behind_⌋* the curtain, ¹³ and he shall put the incense on the fire _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh so that the cloud of incense might cover the atonement cover, which is on the _⌊covenant text_⌋,* so that he might not die.

⁴⁶ And Moses and Aaron said, "Take the censer, and put fire on it from the altar. Place incense on it, and bring it quickly to the community, and make atonement for them, because wrath went out from the presence of Yahweh, and a plague has begun." ⁴⁷ And so Aaron took it just as Moses had spoken, and he ran into the midst of the assembly, for behold, the plague had begun among the people; so he gave the incense and made atonement for the people.

⁵⁰ The cups, the snuffers, the bowls for drinking wine, the bowls for the incense, and the firepans were made from beaten gold; the facades for the doors of the inner house, for the _⌊most holy place_⌋,* for the doors of the main hall of the temple were of gold.

¹⁶ But on account of his strength his heart grew proud unto destruction. And he acted unfaithfully against Yahweh his God and went into the temple of Yahweh to offer an incense offering on the altar. ¹⁷ And Azariah the priest, along with eighty strong priests with him, went in after him. ¹⁸ And they stood against King Uzziah and said to him, "It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to Yahweh, but it is for the priests, the descendants* of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense. Go out of the sanctuary, for you have acted unfaithfully. There will be no honor for you from Yahweh God." ¹⁹ Then Uzziah, his censer in hand to burn incense, became angry. And when he became angry with the priests, then leprosy appeared on his forehead in front of the priests in the house of Yahweh at the altar of incense. ²⁰ When Azariah the chief priest and all the priests turned to him, behold, he was leprous in the forehead. So they rushed him away from there, and he also hastened to go out, for Yahweh had smitten him.

² Let my prayer be set before you as incense, the lifting up of my palms as the evening offering.

¹ I saw my Lord standing by the altar and he said, "Strike the capitals so that the thresholds will shake, and shatter them on the head of all of them, and I will kill the rest of them with the sword. A fugitive belonging to them will not run away, and a survivor belonging to them will not escape.

¹¹ From the rising of the sun to its setting, my name is great among the nations, and in every place incense is being presented to my name, and a pure offering. For my name is great among the nations," says Yahweh of hosts.

¹⁰ And the whole crowd of the people were praying outside at the hour of the incense offering.

³⁰ "And when* forty years had been completed, an angel appeared to him in the desert of Mount Sinai in the flame of a burning bush. ³¹ And when* Moses saw it,* he was astonished at the sight, and when* he approached to look at it,* the voice of the Lord came: ³² 'I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob!'* So Moses began trembling and* did not dare to look at it.*

³⁴ Who is the one who condemns? Christ* is the one who died, and more than that, who was raised, who is also at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.

¹⁵ For we do not have a high priest who is not able to sympathize with our weaknesses, but who has been tempted in all things in the same way, without sin. ¹⁶ Therefore let us approach with confidence to the throne of grace, in order that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

²⁵ Therefore also he is able to save completely those who draw near to God through him, because he* always lives in order to intercede on their behalf.

⁴ containing the golden incense altar and the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which were a golden jar containing the manna and the rod of Aaron that budded and the tablets of the covenant.

¹⁹ Therefore, brothers, since we* have confidence for the entrance into the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ by the new and living way which he inaugurated for us through the curtain, that is, his flesh, ²¹ and since we have* a great priest over the house of God, ²² let us approach with a true heart in the full assurance of faith, our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

¹ My little children, I am writing these things to you in order that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous one, ² and he* is the propitiation* for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

⁸ And when he took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one of whom had a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

² And I saw another angel ascending _⌊from the east_⌋*, holding the seal of the living God, and he cried out with a loud voice to the four angels _⌊who were given permission_⌋* to damage the earth and the sea,

⁴ And the smoke of the incense went up before God with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel.

¹³ And the sixth angel blew the trumpet, and I heard one voice from the horns* of the golden altar that is before God

¹ And I saw another powerful angel descending from heaven, wrapped in a cloud, and a rainbow over his head, and his face was like the sun, and his feet were like pillars of fire,*

¹ "And you will make an altar for burning incense; you will make it of acacia wood,

³ And another angel who had a golden censer came and stood at the altar, and a large amount of incense was given to him, in order that he could offer the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar that is before the throne.

⁸ and the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power, and no one was able to enter into the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.

¹² And he shall take a* censer full of _⌊burning charcoal_⌋* from upon the altar from _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh and _⌊two handfuls_⌋* of incense of powdered fragrant perfumes, and he shall bring it _⌊from behind_⌋* the curtain,

⁷ In my distress I called upon Yahweh, and to my God I called. He heard my voice from his temple, and my cry for help was to his ears. ⁸ The earth heaved and shook, the foundations of heaven trembled and heaved because _⌊he was angry_⌋.* ⁹ Smoke went up from his nostrils and fire from his mouth. Burning coals devoured, they burned from him.

¹¹ He* said, "Go out and stand on the mountain before Yahweh." Suddenly Yahweh was passing by, with a great and strong wind ripping the mountains and crushing rocks before Yahweh; but Yahweh was not in the wind. After the wind, there was an earthquake; but Yahweh was not in the earthquake.

¹³ And Yahweh thundered from the heavens, and the Most High uttered his voice with hail and coals of fire.

⁶ You will be punished by Yahweh of hosts
with thunder and earthquake and great sound, storm wind and tempest and the flame of a devouring fire.

³⁰ And Yahweh will cause the majesty of his voice to be heard, and he will cause the descent of his arm to be seen, in furious anger and a flame of devouring fire, with a cloudburst and a rainstorm and stones* of hail.

⁶ A voice, an uproar from the city! A voice from the temple! The voice of Yahweh _⌊paying back_⌋* his enemies!

¹⁴ And you shall see and your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall _⌊flourish_⌋* like the grass, and the hand of Yahweh shall make itself known _⌊to_⌋* his servants, and he shall curse his enemies. ¹⁵ For look! Yahweh will come in fire, and his chariots like the storm wind, to _⌊give back_⌋* his anger in wrath, and his rebuke in flames of fire. ¹⁶ For Yahweh enters into judgment on all flesh with fire and his sword, and _⌊those slain by_⌋* Yahweh shall be many.

¹¹ Sharpen the arrows, fill the quivers! Yahweh has stirred up the spirit of the kings of the Medes. Because his plan concerning Babylon is to destroy it, for that is the vengeance of Yahweh, the vengeance for his temple.

² And he spoke* to the man clothed in linen and said, "Go _⌊in among the wheel area under the cherubim_⌋* and fill the hollow of your hands with coals of fire from among the cherubim, and toss them on the city." And he went right before my eyes. ³ Now* the cherubim were standing on the south of the temple _⌊when the man went_⌋,* and the cloud filled the inner courtyard. ⁴ And the glory of Yahweh rose up from on the cherub toward* the threshold of the house,* and the house* was filled with the cloud, and the courtyard was filled with the brightness of the glory of Yahweh. ⁵ And the sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard _⌊as far as_⌋* the outer courtyard; it was like the voice of God Shaddai* _⌊when he speaks_⌋.* ⁶ And then at his command* to the man clothed in linen, _⌊saying_⌋,* "Take fire from among the wheel area from among the cherubim," he went and stood beside the wheel. ⁷ Then the cherub stretched out his hand from among* the cherubim toward the fire that was among* the cherubim, and he lifted up and gave* it into the hollow of the hand of the man clothed with linen, and he took it, and he went out.

⁵ And you will flee by the valley of my mountains, because the valley of the mountains will reach to Azal, and you will flee like you fled from the earthquake in the days of King Uzziah of Judah. And Yahweh my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.*

⁷ For nation will rise up against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.*

⁵² And the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, ⁵³ and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many. ⁵⁴ Now the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus, when they* saw the earthquake and the things that took place, were extremely frightened, saying, "Truly this man was God's Son!"

⁴⁹ "I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish that it had been kindled already!

³¹ And when* they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak* the word* of God with boldness.

²⁶ And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened and all the bonds* were unfastened.

¹⁸ For you have not come to something that can be touched, and to a burning fire, and to darkness, and to gloom, and to a whirlwind, ¹⁹ and to the noise of a trumpet, and to the sound of words which those who heard begged that not another word be spoken to them.

⁵ And from the throne came out lightnings and sounds and thunders, and seven torches of fire were burning before the throne, which are the seven spirits of God.

¹³ And at that hour a great earthquake took place, and a tenth of the city collapsed, and seven thousand _⌊people_⌋* were killed by the earthquake, and the rest became terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

¹⁹ And the temple of God in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant appeared in his temple, and there were lightnings and sounds and thunders and an earthquake and large hail.*

¹ And I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, "Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God." ² And the first went and poured out his bowl on the earth, and there was an evil and painful sore on the people who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image. ³ And the second poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became blood, like that of a dead person, and every living thing that was in the sea died. ⁴ And the third poured out his bowl on the rivers and the springs of water, and they became blood. ⁵ And I heard the angel of the waters saying,
"You are righteous, the one who is and the one who was, the Holy One, because you have judged these things, ⁶ because they have poured out the blood of the saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink; they are deserving!" ⁷ And I heard the altar saying,
"Yes, Lord God All-Powerful, true and righteous are your judgments." ⁸ And the fourth poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was granted to it to burn up people with fire. ⁹ And people were burned up by the great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has the authority over these plagues, and they did not repent to give him glory. ¹⁰ And the fifth poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became darkened, and they began chewing their tongues because of the pain. ¹¹ And they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pain and because of their sores, and they did not repent of their deeds. ¹² And the sixth poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, in order that the way would be prepared for the kings from _⌊the east_⌋*. ¹³ And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet three unclean spirits like frogs. ¹⁴ For they are the spirits of demons performing signs that go out to the kings of the whole inhabited world, to gather them for the battle of the great day of God the All-Powerful. ¹⁵ (Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who is on the alert and who keeps his clothing, so that he does not walk around naked and they see his shamefulness!) ¹⁶ And he gathered them to the place called in Hebrew Armageddon. ¹⁷ And the seventh poured out his bowl on the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple, from the throne, saying, "It is done!" ¹⁸ And there were lightnings and sounds and thunders, and there was a great earthquake, as has not happened from the time humanity has been on the earth—so great in this way was the earthquake. ¹⁹ And the great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And Babylon the great was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of his furious wrath.* ²⁰ And every island fled, and mountains were not found. ²¹ And large hailstones, weighing about a hundred pounds,* came down from the sky upon people, and the people blasphemed God because of the plague of hail, because the plague of it was very great.

² And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.

²³ And Moses stretched out his staff to the heavens, and Yahweh gave thunder* and hail, and fire went to the earth, and Yahweh caused hail to rain on the land of Egypt. ²⁴ And there was hail, and fire was flashing back and forth in the midst of the very severe hail, the like of which was not in all the land of Egypt since it had become a nation. ²⁵ And the hail struck in all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, from human to animal, and the hail struck all the vegetation of the field and smashed every tree of the field.

³³ And Moses went from Pharaoh out of the city, and he spread his hands to Yahweh, and the thunder and the hail stopped, and rain did not pour on the earth.

¹¹ And as they were fleeing from Israel, they were on the slope of Beth-horon, and Yahweh threw huge stones from the heavens on them as far as Azekah; and more died by the hail stones than those whom the _⌊Israelites_⌋* killed by the sword.

⁵ Yahweh tests the righteous, but the wicked and the lover of violence his soul hates. ⁶ He will rain coals* on the wicked. Burning sulfur and scorching wind will be the portion of their cup.

¹² From the brightness before him his clouds passed over with hail and coals of fire. ¹³ And Yahweh thundered from the heavens, and the Most High uttered his voice with hail and coals of fire.

⁴⁷ He destroyed their vines with hail and their sycamore trees with sleet.* ⁴⁸ He also handed their cattle over to the hail and their livestock to the lightning bolts.

³² He gave hail for their rains and the fire of lightning in their land.

¹² For there is a day for Yahweh of hosts against all of the proud and the lofty and against all that is lifted up and humble,* ¹³ and against all the lofty and lifted up cedars of Lebanon, and against all the large trees of Bashan,

¹⁷ And the light of Israel will become like a fire, and his holy one like a flame, and it will burn and devour his thorns* and briers* in one day. ¹⁸ And he will destroy the glory of his forest and orchard _⌊completely_⌋,* and it will be like the wasting away of one who is sick.

² Look! The Lord has a mighty and strong one, like a rainstorm of hail, a wind storm of destruction, like a rainstorm of mighty overflowing waters, he will put them to the earth with his hand.

¹⁹ And it hails when _⌊the forest comes down_⌋,* and the city will become low in humiliation.

¹⁰ Because, yes, because they led my people astray, _⌊saying_⌋* 'Peace!' And there is not peace. And when anyone* builds a flimsy wall, look, they coat it with whitewash. ¹¹ Say to those covering it with whitewash that it will fall; there will be _⌊a torrent of rain_⌋,* and I will give stones of hail; they will fall! * And a _⌊windstorm_⌋* will burst forth! ¹² And look! When the wall falls, will it not be said to you, 'Where is the whitewash with which you covered it?' ¹³ Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: 'And so I will let burst forth a _⌊windstorm_⌋* in my rage, and _⌊there will be a torrent of rain_⌋* in my anger, and hailstones in my rage _⌊for complete destruction_⌋.* ¹⁴ And I will break down the wall that you covered with whitewash, and I will knock it to the ground, and its foundation will be revealed, and it will fall, and you will come to an end in the midst of it, and you will know that I am Yahweh! ¹⁵ And I will fully vent my rage against the wall and against those covering it with whitewash, and I will say to you, "_⌊The wall is no more_⌋,* and _⌊the people covering it are no more_⌋,*

²² And I will execute justice with* him with a plague and with blood and _⌊torrents of rain_⌋,* and hailstones; fire and sulfur I will cause to fall on him and on his troops and on many peoples who are with him.

³⁰ And I will _⌊set_⌋* wonders in the heavens, and on earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke.

⁸ _⌊And then_⌋* in all the land," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh, "_⌊two thirds_⌋* will be cut off and perish, and one third will be left alive* in it. ⁹ And I will bring the remaining third into the fire, and I will refine them like one refines silver, and I will test them like one tests gold. They* will call my name, and I will answer them.* I will say, 'They* are my people,' and they* will say, 'Yahweh is my God.'"

²⁵ And the rain came down and the rivers came and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it did not collapse, because its foundation was laid on the rock. ²⁶ And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. ²⁷ And the rain came down and the rivers came and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it collapsed, and its fall was great."

¹¹ For the sun rises with its burning heat and dries up the grass, and its flower falls off, and the beauty of its appearance is lost. So also the rich person in his pursuits* will wither away.

²⁴ For
"all flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flower of the grass. The grass withers and the flower falls off,

⁸ And I looked, and behold, a pale green horse, and the one seated on it _⌊was named_⌋* Death, and Hades followed after him. And authority was granted to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill by the sword and by famine and by pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.

⁷ And the first blew the trumpet, and there was hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was thrown to the earth, and a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up. ⁸ And the second angel blew the trumpet, and something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood, ⁹ and a third of the creatures in the sea—the ones which had life—died, and a third of the ships were destroyed. ¹⁰ And the third angel blew the trumpet, and a great star burning like a torch fell from heaven, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. ¹¹ And the name of the star was called Wormwood, and a third of the waters became wormwood, and many people died from the waters because they were made bitter. ¹² And the fourth angel blew the trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened, and the day did not shine with respect to a third of it, and the night likewise.

⁴ And it was told to them that they should not damage the grass of the earth or any green plant or any tree, except those people who do not have the seal of God on their* foreheads.

¹⁵ And the four angels who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year were released, in order that they should kill a third of humanity.

¹⁸ By these three plagues a third of humanity was killed—by the fire and the smoke and the sulphur that came out of their mouths.

⁴ And his tail swept away a third of the stars from heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, in order that whenever she gave birth to her child he could devour it.

² And the first went and poured out his bowl on the earth, and there was an evil and painful sore on the people who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image.

²¹ And large hailstones, weighing about a hundred pounds,* came down from the sky upon people, and the people blasphemed God because of the plague of hail, because the plague of it was very great.

¹⁷ Thus says Yahweh, "By this you will know that I am Yahweh. Look, I am about to strike with the staff that is in my hand the water that is in the Nile, and it will be changed to blood. ¹⁸ And the fish that are in the Nile will die, and the Nile will stink, and the Egyptians will be unable to drink water from the Nile." '" ¹⁹ And Yahweh said to Moses, "Say to Aaron, 'Take your staff and stretch your hand out over the waters of Egypt and over their rivers, over their canals, and over their pools and over all of their reservoirs of water, so that they become blood,' and blood will be in all the land of Egypt and in vessels of wood and of stone." ²⁰ And Moses and Aaron did so, as Yahweh had commanded, and he raised the staff and struck the water that was in the Nile before the eyes of Pharaoh and before the eyes of his servants, and all of the water that was in the Nile was changed to blood. ²¹ And the fish that were in the Nile died, and the Nile stank, and the Egyptians were not able to drink water from the Nile, and the blood was in all the land of Egypt.

²⁵ "Look, I am against you, O mountain of the destruction," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh, "the one that destroys the whole earth. And I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will roll you down from the cliffs, and I will make you as a mountain burned away.

⁹ And the prophet, if he is deceived and he speaks a word, I Yahweh, I have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand against him, and I will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

⁴ This is what my Lord Yahweh showed me, and look, my Lord Yahweh was going to call for a legal case with fire, and it devoured the great deep and it ate up the plots of ground.

²³ Truly I say to you that whoever says to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea!' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.

⁷ And the first blew the trumpet, and there was hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was thrown to the earth, and a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.

⁶ These have the authority to shut the sky, so that _⌊it does not rain_⌋* during the days of their prophecy. And they have authority over the waters, to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with every plague as often as they wish.

⁷ With an east wind you shatter* the ships of Tarshish.*

¹⁶ and against all the ships of Tarshish, and against all the ships of desire.

¹ The oracle of Tyre:
Wail, ships of Tarshish, for _⌊the house is destroyed so that no one can enter_⌋;* it is announced to them from the land of Cyprus.

⁸ _⌊And then_⌋* in all the land," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh, "_⌊two thirds_⌋* will be cut off and perish, and one third will be left alive* in it.

³ And the second poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became blood, like that of a dead person, and every living thing that was in the sea died.

¹¹ Then three thousand men from Judah went down to the cleft of the rock of Etam, and they said to Samson, "Do you not know that the Philistines are ruling over us? What is this that you have done to us?" And he said to them, "Just as they did to me, so I have done to them."

¹⁹ The men of the city said to Elisha, "Please now, the location of the city is good, as my master can see, but the water is bad and the land unproductive." ²⁰ So he said, "Bring me a new bowl and put salt in it." So they brought it to him. ²¹ Then he went out to the spring of waters and threw the salt into it there and said, "Thus says Yahweh, 'I hereby purify these waters; let there be no longer any death or unproductiveness from it.'" ²² Then the waters were purified until this very day according to the word of Elisha that he spoke.

³ he took counsel with his commanders and his mighty warriors to block off the waters of the springs that came from outside the city, and they helped him.

³ And you will draw water from the wells of salvation in joy.

¹² How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of dawn! You are cut down to the ground, conqueror of nations!

¹⁵ Although he may flourish among reeds,* the east wind will come, a wind of Yahweh rising from the desert; his fountain will dry up, his spring will be parched. It will plunder his treasury,* every object of desire. ¹⁶ * Samaria will be guilty, because she has rebelled against her God; they will fall by the sword, their children will be dashed to pieces, and their pregnant women will be ripped open.

¹⁸ So he said to them, "I saw Satan falling like lightning from heaven.

¹³ wild waves of the sea foaming up their own shameful deeds, wandering stars, for whom the deep gloom of darkness has been reserved for eternity.

²⁰ As for the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand and the seven gold lampstands—the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.

¹³ and the stars of heaven* fell to the earth like a fig tree throws down its unripe figs when* shaken by a great wind.

⁷ saying with a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship the one who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and the springs of water!"

⁴ And the third poured out his bowl on the rivers and the springs of water, and they became blood.

²³ And they came to Marah, and they were not able to drink water from Marah because it was bitter. Therefore _⌊it was named_⌋* Marah.

¹⁸ so that _⌊there is not_⌋* among you a man or a woman or a clan or a tribe _⌊whose heart_⌋* turns _⌊today_⌋* from being with Yahweh our God to go to serve the gods of these nations, so that there is not among you a root sprouting poison and wormwood.

²⁰ And she said to them, "You should not call me Naomi; call me Mara, for Shaddai* has _⌊caused me to be very bitter_⌋.*

⁴ But her end is bitter as the wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.

¹⁵ Therefore thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, "Look, I am feeding this people wormwood, and providing drink for them, water of poison,

¹⁵ _⌊Therefore_⌋* thus says Yahweh concerning the prophets,
"Look, I am going to let them eat wormwood and I will give them water of poison to drink, for from the prophets of Jerusalem went out ungodliness to all the land."

⁵ _⌊He has besieged_⌋* and engulfed me with bitterness and hardship.

¹⁹ Remember my misery and bitterness, the wormwood* and venom!

⁷ Ah, you who turn justice into wormwood and hurl righteousness to the ground!

¹² Do horses run on rocks, or does one plow the sea with oxen?* But you have turned justice into poison and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood!

¹⁵ Take care that no one falls short of the grace of God; that no one growing up like a root of bitterness causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;

²¹ And Yahweh said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand toward the heavens so that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt and so that a person can feel darkness." ²² And Moses stretched out his hand toward the heavens, and there was darkness of night in all the land of Egypt for three days. ²³ No one could see his brother, and _⌊because of it no one could move from where they were_⌋* for three days, but there was light for the _⌊Israelites_⌋* in their dwellings. ²⁴ And Pharaoh called Moses and said, "Go, serve Yahweh. Only your sheep and goats and your cattle must be left behind. Your dependents* may also go with you." ²⁵ And Moses said, "Even if you yourself put into our hand sacrifices and burnt offerings and we offer them to Yahweh our God, ²⁶ our livestock must also go with us. Not a hoof can be left because we must take from them to serve Yahweh our God. And we will not know with what we are to serve Yahweh until we come there." ²⁷ And Yahweh hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he was not willing to release them. ²⁸ And Pharaoh said to him, "Go from me. _⌊Be careful_⌋* not to see my face again, because on the day of your seeing my face you will die." ²⁹ And Moses said, "_⌊That is right_⌋.* _⌊I will not again see your face_⌋."*

¹⁰ For the stars of the heavens and their constellations will not flash forth their light; the sun will keep back when it comes out, and the moon will not cause its light to shine.

²³ And the full moon will be ashamed and the sun will be ashamed, for Yahweh of hosts will rule on _⌊Mount Zion_⌋* and in Jerusalem, and before his elders in glory.

²³ I looked at the earth, and behold, it was wasteland and emptiness, and to the heavens, and they were without their light.

⁷ And I will cover you at* extinguishing your heavens, and I will make dark their stars, and I will cover the sun with the cloud, and the moon will not give its light. ⁸ All* sources of light in the heavens, I will make them dark over you, and I will put* darkness on your land,'"
_⌊declares_⌋* the Lord Yahweh.

¹⁰ _⌊Before them_⌋* the earth quakes; the heavens tremble; the sun and the moon grow dark, and the stars _⌊have withheld_⌋* their splendor

³¹ The sun will be changed to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of Yahweh.

⁹ And then in that day," _⌊declares_⌋* my Lord Yahweh, "I* will make the sun go down at noon and I will darken the land on a day of light.

²⁹ "And immediately after the tribulation of those days,
'the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken.'*

⁴⁵ Now from the sixth hour, darkness came over all the land until the ninth hour.

²⁴ "But in those days, after that tribulation,
'the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light,

³³ And when* the sixth hour came, darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour.

²⁵ "And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity from the noise of the sea and its surging,

⁴⁴ And by this time it was about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour ⁴⁵ because* the light of the sun failed. And the curtain of the temple was torn apart down the middle.

²⁰ The sun will be changed to darkness and the moon to blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

⁴ among whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so that they would not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

⁹ whose coming is in accordance with the working of Satan, with all power and signs and lying wonders, ¹⁰ and with every unrighteous deception against those who are perishing, in place of which they did not accept the love of the truth, so that they would be saved. ¹¹ And because of this, God sends them _⌊a powerful delusion_⌋* so that they will believe the lie, ¹² in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth, but delighted in unrighteousness.

⁸ And the fourth poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was granted to it to burn up people with fire. ⁹ And people were burned up by the great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has the authority over these plagues, and they did not repent to give him glory.

²⁰ Bless Yahweh, you his angels, you mighty heroes who do his word by _⌊obeying_⌋* the sound of his word.

¹⁰ And he rolled it out* _⌊before me_⌋,* and it was written on the front and back, and there were written on it laments and mourning and wailing.*

¹⁴ Are they not all spirits engaged in special service, sent on assignment for the sake of those who are going to inherit salvation?

¹² The first woe has passed. Behold, two woes are still coming after these things.

¹⁴ The second woe has passed. Behold, the third woe is coming quickly!

³ And they were singing something like a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders, and no one was able to learn the song except the one hundred forty-four thousand who had been bought from the earth.

⁶ And I saw another angel flying _⌊directly overhead_⌋*, having an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who reside on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and language and people,

¹⁷ And I saw one angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly _⌊directly overhead_⌋*,
"Come! Assemble for the great banquet of God,
