Genesis 42:9-18

As Pharaoh lives you shall not leave here except your younger brother come in here. 16 Send one of you and let him bring your brother; and you be bound, and let your words be proven, whether truth is with you. And if not, as Pharaoh lives, so you are spies. 17 And he gathered them into custody three days. 18 And on the third day Joseph said to them, Do this and live. I fear God.

Joshua 2:1-3

1 And Joshua the son of Nun sent two men out of Shittim to spy secretly, saying, Go look over the land, and Jericho. And they went and came into the house of a woman, a harlot; and her name was Rahab. And they lay down there. 2 And it was reported to the King of Jericho saying, Behold, men have come here tonight from the sons of Israel, to search the land. 3 And the king of Jericho sent to Rahab, saying, Bring out the men who have come in to you, who have come into your house. Judges 1:23-24
