¹ And it happened after many days the word of Jehovah came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, show yourself to Ahab, and I will give rain on the face of the earth. ² And Elijah went to be seen by Ahab. And the famine in Samaria was severe. ³ And Ahab called to Obadiah, who was over the house (and Obadiah greatly feared Jehovah; ⁴ and it happened, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of Jehovah, that Obadiah had taken a hundred prophets and had hidden them, fifty men in a cave, and had fed them with bread and water) ⁵ and Ahab said to Obadiah, Go through the land to all the fountains of water, and to all the torrents; perhaps we may find grass and keep alive horse and mule, and will not cut off any of the livestock. ⁶ And they divided the land to themselves, to pass over into it; Ahab went in one way by himself, and Obadiah went in another way by himself. ⁷ And Obadiah was in the highway; and behold, Elijah came to meet him. And he recognized him, and he fell on his face, and said, Are you this one, my lord Elijah? ⁸ And he said to him, I am; Go, say to your lord, Behold, Elijah! ⁹ And he said, What have I sinned, that you are giving your servant into the hand of Ahab to kill me? ¹⁰ As Jehovah your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom where my lord has not sent to seek you; and when they said, He is not here, then he caused the kingdom and the nation to swear that it did not find you. ¹¹ And now, you are saying, Go, say to your lord, Behold, Elijah. ¹² And it shall be, I will go away from you, and the Spirit of Jehovah will lift you up, where I do not know, and I will come to tell Ahab, and he will not find you, and he will kill me. And your servant has feared Jehovah from my youth. ¹³ Was it not told to my lord that which I did when Jezebel killed the prophets of Jehovah, but I hid a hundred men of the prophets, fifty by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water? ¹⁴ And now you are saying, Go, say to your lord, Behold, Elijah, and he will kill me! ¹⁵ And Elijah said, As Jehovah of hosts lives, before whom I stand, surely today I will be seen by him. ¹⁶ And Obadiah went to meet Ahab and told him: and Ahab went to meet Elijah. ¹⁷ And it happened when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, Are you he, the disturber of Israel? ¹⁸ And he answered, I have not disturbed Israel, but you and the house of your father, in that you have forsaken the commands of Jehovah, and you have gone after the Baals. ¹⁹ And now send, gather all Israel to me, to Mount Carmel and four hundred and fifty of the prophets of Baal, and four hundred of the prophets of Asherah, who eat at the table of Jezebel. ²⁰ And Ahab sent among all the sons of Israel and gathered the prophets to Mount Carmel. ²¹ And Elijah came near all the people and said, Until when are you limping over two opinions? If Jehovah is God, follow Him; and if Baal, follow him. But the people did not answer him a word. ²² Then Elijah said to the people, I, I alone, remain a prophet of Jehovah; but the prophets of Baal are four hundred and fifty men. ²³ Then let them give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and place it on the wood, and place no fire. And I, I will prepare the other bullock and will put it on the wood, and I will not place fire. ²⁴ And you shall call on the name of your god; and I, I will call on the name of Jehovah; and it shall be, the god who answers by fire, he is the God. And all the people answered and said, The word is good. ²⁵ And Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, Choose the one bullock for yourself, and prepare first, for you are many; and you call on the name of your god, but place no fire. ²⁶ And they took the bullock that was given to them, and prepared, and called on the name of Baal from the morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, answer us! And there was no sound, and no one was answering; and they leaped about the altar that one had made. ²⁷ And it happened at noon, that Elijah taunted them and said, Call with a loud voice, for he is a god; for he is meditating, or pursuing, or on a journey; it may be he is asleep and must be awakened. ²⁸ And they called with a loud voice, and cut themselves, according to their way, with swords and with spears until blood gushed out on them. ²⁹ And it happened as noon passed by, that they prophesied madly until the offering up of the offering; and no sound came, and no one was answering, and no one was paying attention. ³⁰ And Elijah said to all the people, Come near to me. And all the people came near to him; and he healed the altar of Jehovah that had been broken down. ³¹ And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the word of Jehovah came, saying, Israel shall be your name. ³² And he built an altar with the stones in the name of Jehovah, and made a trench around the altar large as two seahs of seed in space. ³³ And he arranged the wood, and cut the bullock in pieces, and placed it on the wood, and said, Fill four water jars of water and pour on the burnt offering and on the wood. ³⁴ And he said, Do it a second time; and they did it a second time; and he said, Do it a third time; and they did it a third time. ³⁵ And the water went around the altar, and also he filled the trench with water. ³⁶ And it happened at the offering of the sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near and said, O Jehovah, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel, and I Your servant, that by Your word I have done all these things. ³⁷ Answer me, O Jehovah, answer me; and this people shall know that You are Jehovah God; and You shall turn their hearts back again. ³⁸ And fire fell from Jehovah and burned up the burnt offering, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and the water in the trench was licked up. ³⁹ And all the people saw, and fell on their faces, and said, Jehovah, He is the God; Jehovah, He is the God! ⁴⁰ And Elijah said to them, Seize the prophets of Baal; do not let a man of them escape. And they caught them, and Elijah brought them down to the Kishon and killed them there. ⁴¹ And Elijah said to Ahab, Go up, eat and drink, because of the sound of abundance of rain. ⁴² And Ahab went up to eat, and to drink; and Elijah went up to the top of Carmel, and he stretched himself out on the earth, and he put his face between his knees; ⁴³ and said to his young man, Now go up, look closely to the way of the sea. And he went up and looked closely, and said, There is nothing; and he said, Go back seven times. ⁴⁴ And it happened at the seventh time, he said, Behold, a little cloud like the palm of a man is coming up out of the sea. And he said, Go up and say to Ahab, Bind up and go down, that the rain may not stop you. ⁴⁵ And until this and this, it happened that the heavens became black with thick clouds and wind, and the rain was heavy; and Ahab rode and went to Jezreel; ⁴⁶ and the hand of Jehovah was on Elijah, and he girded up his loins and ran before Ahab until you enter Jezreel.

⁴ then I will give you rains in their season, and the land shall yield her produce, and the tree of the field shall give its fruit;

¹² Jehovah shall open to you His good treasure, the heavens to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. And you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

¹ And Elijah the Tishbite, of the sojourners of Gilead, said to Ahab, As Jehovah the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall be no dew nor rain these years, except according to my word.

⁷ And it after a while, that the torrent dried up, because there was no rain in the land.

¹⁵ And she went and did according to the word of Elijah, and she ate, she and he and her household, many days;

⁹ You visit the earth and water it; You greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water. You provide their grain, for in this way You have prepared it. ¹⁰ You fill its terraces with water. You deepen its furrows. You make it soft with showers. You bless the sprouting of it. ¹¹ You crown the year of Your goodness, and Your tracks drop with fruitfulness. ¹² The pastures of the wilderness drop, and the little hills gird themselves with joy. ¹³ The meadows are outfitted with flocks; the valleys are also covered with grain; they shout for joy and sing.

⁶ And I will lay it waste; it shall not be pruned nor hoed; but briers and thorns shall come up. And I will command the clouds from raining rain on it.

¹³ When He utters His voice, there is a noise of waters in the heavens. He causes the vapors to go up from the ends of the earth; He makes lightnings for the rain and brings forth the wind out of His storehouses.

²² Among the vanities of the nations are there any who make rain fall? Or can the heavens give showers? Is it not You, O Jehovah our God? Then we will wait for You; for You do all these things.

²³ Then be glad, sons of Zion, and rejoice in Jehovah your God. For He has given to you the early rain according to righteousness, and He will cause the rain to come down for you, the early rain and the latter rain in the first month .

⁷ And I have also withheld the rain from you when it was yet three months to the harvest. And I caused rain to fall on one city, and caused it not to rain on another city. One piece was rained on, and the piece where it did not rain was dried up.

²⁵ But truthfully I say to you, There were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah when the heaven was shut up over three years and six months, when a great famine came on all the land;

¹⁷ Elijah was a man of like feeling to us, and he prayed in prayer for it not to rain; and it did not rain on the earth three years and six months.

² And cast aside the outside court of the temple, and do not measure it. For it was given to the nations, and they will trample the holy city forty two months.

⁶ These have the authority to shut up the heaven, that no rain may rain in the days of their prophecy. And they have authority over the waters, to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire.

²⁶ When I break to you the staff of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and shall give back your bread by weight; and you shall eat, and shall not be satisfied.

²³ And your heavens over your head shall become bronze, and the earth under you iron. ²⁴ Jehovah shall make the rain of your land be dust and ashes. It shall come down on you from the heavens until you are destroyed.

²⁵ And there was a great famine in Samaria. And behold! They were laying siege to it until the head of an ass was at eighty silver pieces, and a fourth of a cab of dove's dung at five silver pieces .

¹ A Psalm of David. Jehovah is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

⁴ Against You, You only, I have sinned, and done evil in Your eyes; that You might be justified in Your speaking and be clear when You judge.

¹ The wicked flee though no one is pursuing, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

¹² I, I am He comforting you. Who are you, that you should fear from man? He shall die! And from the son of man? He is given as grass.

² Judah mourns, and her gates droop. They put on mourning for the land, and the cry of Jerusalem has gone up. ³ And their nobles have sent their little ones for water. They came to the cisterns; they found no water. They returned with their vessels empty. They were ashamed and confounded and covered their head. ⁴ Because the ground was cracked, for there was no rain in the land; the plowmen were ashamed; they covered their head. ⁵ For even the doe calved in the field and forsook it because there was no grass. ⁶ And the wild asses stood in the high places; they snuffed up the wind like jackals; their eyes failed because there was no grass.

¹⁸ If I go out into the field, then I see those pierced with the sword. And if I enter into the city, then, behold, diseases of famine! Yes, both the prophet and the priest have gone up into a land that they do not know.

¹⁵ Alas for the day! For the day of Jehovah is at hand. And it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. ¹⁶ Is not the food cut off before your eyes, joy and gladness from the house of our God? ¹⁷ The seed shrivels under their clods; the storage bins are laid waste, the granaries are broken down, for the grain has dried up. ¹⁸ How the beasts groan! The herds of livestock are vexed, for there is no pasture for them. Even the flocks of sheep are perishing. ¹⁹ O Jehovah, to You I will cry, for the fire has burned up the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame has burned all the trees of the field. ²⁰ The beasts of the field also cry to You, for the rivers of water are dried up, and the fire has burned up the pastures of the wilderness.

⁵ Set your way of life without money-loving, being satisfied with present things; for He has said, "Not at all will I leave you, not at all will I forsake you," never! Deut. 31:6 ⁶ So that we may boldly say, " The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid. What shall man do to me?" LXX-Psa. 117:6; MT-Psa. 118:6

¹² And He said, Do not lay your hand on the boy, nor do anything to him. For now I know that you are a God-fearer, and you have not withheld your son, your only one, from Me.

² And Abraham said to his slave, oldest in his house, the one who governed in all that was to him, Please put your hand under my thigh.

¹⁰ And the slave took ten camels from his master's camels and left. And all his master's were in his hand. And he rose up and went to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor.

⁴ And Joseph fond favor in his sight, and served him. And he appointed him over his house, and he gave all he owned into his hand. ⁵ And it came about that from the time he appointed him over his house and over all he owned, Jehovah blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake. And the blessing of Jehovah was on all that he had, in the house and in the field.

⁹ No one in this house is greater than I, and he has not withheld anything from me except you, because you are his wife. And how should I do this great evil and sin against God?

⁴⁰ You shall be over my house, and at your mouth all my people shall kiss the hand . Only in respect to the throne will I be greater than you.

¹⁸ And on the third day Joseph said to them, Do this and live. I fear God.

⁹ And his servant Zimri, the captain of half of the chariots, conspired against him. And he was in Tirzah drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the house of Tirzah.

¹² And it shall be, I will go away from you, and the Spirit of Jehovah will lift you up, where I do not know, and I will come to tell Ahab, and he will not find you, and he will kill me. And your servant has feared Jehovah from my youth.

¹ And a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets had cried to Elisha, saying, My husband, your servant, is dead. And you know that your servant has seen Jehovah. And the lender has come to take my two children to himself for slaves.

¹⁵ The former governors that had been before me were too heavy on the people, and had taken bread and wine from them, besides forty shekels of silver. Yes, even their servants bore rule over the people. But I did not do this, because of the fear of God.

² I commanded that my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace be over Jerusalem. For he was as a faithful man and feared God above many.

²⁶ In the fear of Jehovah is strong trust, and His sons shall have a hiding place.

¹⁶ Then those fearing Jehovah spoke together, each man to his neighbor. And Jehovah gave attention and heard. And a Book of Remembrance was written before Him for those who feared Jehovah, and for those esteeming His name.

²⁸ And you should not fear the ones killing the body, but not being able to kill the soul. But rather fear Him being able to destroy both soul and body in Hell.

² one devout and fearing God, with all his household, both doing many alms to the people and praying continually to God.

³⁵ but in every nation the one fearing Him and working righteousness is acceptable to Him.

⁸ And the man of God said to the king, If you would give me the half of your house, I would not go in with you, nor will I eat bread, nor will I drink water in this place. ⁹ For so He commanded me by the word of Jehovah, saying, You shall not eat bread nor drink water, nor turn back in the way that you have come.

¹⁶ And he said, I am not able to go back with you, and to go in with you, nor may I eat bread or drink water with you in this place;

¹³ Was it not told to my lord that which I did when Jezebel killed the prophets of Jehovah, but I hid a hundred men of the prophets, fifty by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water?

²² And he said, You shall not strike. Would you strike those whom you have captured with your sword and with your bow? Set bread and water before them that they may eat and drink and go to their master. ²³ And he prepared a great banquet for them, and they ate and drank. And he sent them away, and they went to their master. And the companies of Syria did not come into the land of Israel any more.

²⁶ But they were disobedient, and rebelled against You, and cast Your law behind their backs. And they killed Your prophets who testified against them, to turn them to You. And they worked great blasphemies.

⁴⁰ The one receiving you receives Me, and the one receiving Me receives Him who sent Me. ⁴¹ The one receiving a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet's reward, and the one receiving a just one in the name of a just one will receive a just one's reward. ⁴² And whoever gives only a cup of cold water to drink to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple, truly I say to you, In no way will he lose his reward.

³⁵ And the vinedressers, taking his slaves, they beat this one, and they killed one, and they stoned another.

³⁵ For I hungered, and you gave Me food to eat; I thirsted, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you took Me in;

⁴⁰ And answering, the King will say to them, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it to one of these, the least of My brothers, you did it to Me.

³⁸ of whom the world was not worthy, wandering in deserts, and mountains, and caves, and the holes of the earth.

⁴ And the woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and being gilded with gold and precious stone and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominations and unclean things of her fornication. ⁵ And on her forehead was a name having been written: Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of the Harlots and of the Abominations of the Earth. ⁶ And I saw the woman being drunk from the blood of the saints, and from the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. And I marveled, seeing her with a great marveling.

¹⁴ He causes the grass to grow for the livestock and plants for the service of man, to bring food out of the earth.

¹⁸ How the beasts groan! The herds of livestock are vexed, for there is no pasture for them. Even the flocks of sheep are perishing.

²² Fear not, beasts of the field, for the pastures of the wilderness grow green, for the tree bears its fruit, the fig tree and the vine give their strength.

¹⁷ Though the fig tree shall not blossom, and fruit is not on the vines; the work of the olive fails, and the fields make no food; the flock is cut off from the fold, and no herd is in the stalls,

²⁰ For the creation was not willingly subjected to vanity, but through Him subjecting it, on hope; ²¹ that also the creation will be freed from the slavery of corruption to the freedom of the glory of the children of God. ²² For we know that all the creation groans together and travails together until now.

³ And their nobles have sent their little ones for water. They came to the cisterns; they found no water. They returned with their vessels empty. They were ashamed and confounded and covered their head.

² And he lifted up his eyes and looked; and, behold, three men were standing by him. And he saw, and he ran to meet them from the entrance of the tent. And he bowed to the ground.

¹² And Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After my being old, shall there be pleasure to me; my lord also being old?

¹⁶ And Judah said, What can we say to my lord? What can we speak, and in what can we justify ourselves? God has found out the iniquity of your servants; behold, we are slaves to my lord, both we and he in whose hand the cup was found.

²⁰ And we said to my lord, An aged father is to us, and a young child of his old age; and his brother is dead; and he alone is left of his mother; and his father loves him.

³³ And now please let your servant remain as a slave to my lord instead of the youth; and let the youth go up with his brothers.

¹⁸ his brothers also went and fell down before his face. And they said, Behold, we are your servants.

¹¹ And Aaron said to Moses, Oh my lord, I beg you, do not lay sin upon us, by which we have done foolishly, and by which we have sinned.

⁴¹ The boy left, and David rose up from the south side. And he fell on his face to the ground. And he bowed three times. And they each one kissed his friend. And they each wept on his friend, until David exceeded.

¹⁸ And they had crossed over the ford to carry over the king's household, and to do the good in his eyes. And Shimei the son of Gera had fallen before the face of the king as he crossed over the Jordan.

²⁹ And at that time it happened that Jeroboam had gone out from Jerusalem, and Ahijah the Shilonite, the prophet, found him in the way. And he covered himself with a new garment, and both of them were by themselves in a field.

⁶ And they said to him, A man came up to meet us, and said to us, Go, return to the king who sent you. And you shall say to him, So says Jehovah, Is it because there is not a God in Israel that you are sending to ask of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron? Therefore, you shall not come down from the bed on which you have gone up, for you shall certainly die. ⁷ And he said to them, What was the fashion of the man who came up to meet you and spoke these words to you? ⁸ And they said to him, A hairy man, and a girdle of leather was girded about his loins. And he said, He is Elijah the Tishbite.

¹⁴ Also the sons of your afflicters shall come bowing to you. And all who despised you shall fall at the soles of your feet. And they shall call you, The City of Jehovah, the Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

⁴ And John himself had his clothing from hairs of a camel, and a belt of leather about his loin. And his food was locusts and wild honey.

⁸ But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft clothing ? Behold, those wearing soft things are in the houses of kings.

³ And Ahab called to Obadiah, who was over the house (and Obadiah greatly feared Jehovah;

⁷ Then give to all their dues: to the one due tax, the tax; to the one due tribute, the tribute; to the one due fear, the fear; to the one due honor, the honor.

¹⁷ honor all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king. ¹⁸ Servants, be obedient to your masters in all fear, not only to those good and forbearing, but also to the perverse ones .

²¹ And they said to them, May Jehovah look on you and judge, you who have made our odor to stink in Pharaoh's eyes and in the eyes of his servants, to give a sword in their hands to kill us.

¹⁸ And she said to Elijah, What have I to do with you, O man of God? Have you come to me to cause my iniquity to be remembered, and to put my son to death?

⁶ And Achish called David and said to him, As Jehovah lives, Surely you are upright and good in my eyes in your going out and in your coming in with me in the camp. For I have not found evil in you from the day of your coming in to me until today. But you are not good in the eyes of the rulers.

²⁹ And the king swore and said, As Jehovah lives, who has redeemed my soul out of all distress,

²⁴ And now, as Jehovah lives, who has established me and caused me to sit on the throne of my father David, and who has made a house for me, as He spoke, surely today Adonijah shall be put to death.

⁵ And he went and did according to the word of Jehovah; for he went and lived by the torrent Cherith, that is before Jordan.

⁹ Rise up, go to Zarephath that belongs to Sidon; and you shall live there. Behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain you.

¹² And she said, As Jehovah your God lives, I do not have a cake, only a handful of meal in a pitcher, and a little oil in a jar; and behold, I am gathering two sticks and will go in and prepare for myself and for my son; and we shall eat it, and die.

¹⁵ And Elijah said, As Jehovah of hosts lives, before whom I stand, surely today I will be seen by him.

² The wicked in his pride will pursue the poor; they will be caught in the schemes which they have devised.

⁷ You shall keep them, O Jehovah; You shall preserve them from this generation forever. ⁸ The wicked walk around on every side, when vileness is exalted by the sons of men.

²⁰ In the secrecy of Your presence You shall hide them from man's plots; You shall cover them in a booth, from the strife of tongues.

¹ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide in the shade of the Almighty.

²⁰ And there was also a man who prophesied in the name of Jehovah, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of Kirjath-jearim, who prophesied against this city and against this land according to the words of Jeremiah. ²¹ And when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men, and all the rulers, heard his words, the king tried to put him to death. But Urijah heard, and he was afraid, and fled, and went to Egypt. ²² And Jehoiakim the king sent men to Egypt, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and men with him into Egypt. ²³ And they brought Urijah out of Egypt and brought him to Jehoiakim the king, who struck him with the sword, and threw his dead body into the graves of the sons of the people.

²⁶ And the king commanded Jerahmeel, the son of Hammelech, and Seraiah, the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah, the son of Abdeel, to seize Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet. But Jehovah hid them.

⁵⁹ Because of this, they took up stones that they might throw them on Him. But Jesus was hidden, and went forth out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

⁸ And he said to him, I am; Go, say to your lord, Behold, Elijah!

¹⁴ And now you are saying, Go, say to your lord, Behold, Elijah, and he will kill me!

¹⁸ And Samuel was serving before Jehovah, a boy girded with an ephod of linen.

²⁶ And the boy Samuel went on, growing both in stature and in good looks, both with Jehovah and also with men.

¹⁹ And Samuel grew up, and Jehovah was with him, and did not let any of his words fall to the earth. ²⁰ And all Israel knew, from Dan even to Beersheba, that Samuel was confirmed to be a prophet to Jehovah.

¹¹ And the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father's house, the priests in Nob. And they came, all of them, to the king. ¹² And Saul said, Now hear, son of Ahitub. And he said, I am here, my lord. ¹³ And Saul said to him, Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse by your giving bread and a sword to him, and to ask of God for him, to rise up against me, to lie in wait, as at this day? ¹⁴ And Ahimelech answered the king and said, And who among all your servants is as David the faithful, and son-in-law of the king; who does your bidding, and is honorable in all your house? ¹⁵ Have I today begun to ask of God for him? Far be it from me! Do not let the king lay anything against his servant, against any of my father's house, for your servant has known nothing of this, more or less. ¹⁶ And the king said, You shall surely die, Ahimelech, you and your father's house. ¹⁷ And the king said to the runners that stood by him, Turn and kill the priests of Jehovah, because their hand also is with David, and because they knew that he was fleeing, and did not reveal it in my ear. But the king's servants were not willing to put forth their hand to fall on the priests of Jehovah. ¹⁸ And the king said to Doeg, You turn and fall on the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned and fell on the priests and killed eighty five men bearing a linen ephod in that day. ¹⁹ And he struck Nob, the city of the priests with the mouth of the sword, from man even to woman, from child even to suckling, and ox, and ass, and sheep, with the mouth of the sword.

¹¹ And it happened, as they were going on and speaking, behold, a chariot of fire and horses of fire came . And they separated between them both, and Elijah went up in a tempest to Heaven.

¹⁶ And they said to him, Behold, now, there are with your servants fifty men, mighty sons. Please let them go, and they shall seek your lord, lest the Spirit of Jehovah has taken him up and has cast him on one of the mountains, or into one of the valleys. And he said, You shall not send.

³ And in the eighth year of his reign, and he was still a boy, he began to seek to the God of his father David; and in the twelfth year he began to cleanse Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the Asherahs, and the graven images, and the casted images.

¹⁷ O God, You have taught me from my youth; and until now I have declared Your wonders. ¹⁸ And now that I am old and grayheaded, O God, do not leave me until I have manifested Your strength to the generation, Your power to everyone who is to come.

¹³ The fear of Jehovah is to hate evil; I hate pride and loftiness, and the evil way, and the perverse mouth.

¹⁸ It is good that you should take hold of this; yea, also from this do not let your hand rest; for he who fears God shall come forth with all of them.

¹⁰ Who among you fears Jehovah, obeying the voice of His servant, who walks in darkness, and no light is in him? Let him trust in the name of Jehovah, and lean on his God.

¹² And the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me a sound of a great tumult, saying, Blessed be the glory of Jehovah from His place! ¹³ And there was the sound of the wings of the living creatures touching each one to the other, and the sound of the wheels along with them, and the sound of a great tumult. ¹⁴ So the Spirit lifted me up and took me, and I went bitterly in the heat of my spirit, but the hand of Jehovah was strong upon me.

³ And He put forth the form of a hand and took me by a lock of my head. And the Spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heavens and brought me to Jerusalem (in the visions of God), to the opening of the inner gate facing north, where there was a seat of the image of jealousy, which causes jealousy.

²⁴ And the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into Chaldea, to the exiles, in a vision by the Spirit of God. And the vision that I had seen went up from me.

¹ The hand of Jehovah was on me. And He brought me by the Spirit of Jehovah and made me rest in the midst of a valley, and it was full of bones.

¹ In the twenty fifth year of our exile, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth of the month, in the fourteenth year after the city was struck, on that same day the hand of Jehovah was on me, and He brought me there. ² In the visions of God He brought me into the land of Israel and made me rest on a very high mountain. And it was as the structure of a city on the south.

⁵ The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The word is certainly gone from me. If you will not make known the dream and its meaning to me, you will be made into mere members, and your houses shall be made an outhouse. ⁶ But if you make known the dream, you shall receive gifts and a present and great honor from before me. Therefore, reveal the dream and its meaning to me. ⁷ They again replied and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will reveal its meaning. ⁸ The king answered and said, For I know that you buy time, that on account of all, you see the thing is certainly gone from me. ⁹ But if you will not make the dream known to me, there is one law for you. For you have agreed upon lying and deceiving words to speak before me until the time has changed. Therefore, tell me the dream, then I shall know that you can reveal the meaning to me. ¹⁰ The Chaldeans replied before the king and said, There is not a man on the earth who can reveal the king's matter, because not any king, lord, or ruler has asked such a thing from any horoscopist, or conjurer, or Chaldean. ¹¹ And the thing that the king asks is rare. And there is no other who may reveal it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh. ¹² Then the king was enraged and angered. And he commanded all the wise men of Babylon to be destroyed. ¹³ And the law went out that the wise men should be killed. And they looked for Daniel and his companions, to be killed.

¹⁶ Then seeing that he was mocked by the wise men, Herod was greatly enraged, and having sent, he killed all the boys in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he exactly asked from the wise men.

¹ Then Jesus was led up into the wilderness by the Spirit, to be tempted by the Devil.

¹⁵ For he shall be great in the eyes of the Lord, and he shall not drink wine or strong drink. And he will be filled of the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb.

³⁹ But when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip. And the eunuch did not see him any more; for he went his way rejoicing.

¹⁹ And searching for him, and not finding him, examining the guards, Herod commanded them to be led away. And going down from Judea to Caesarea, he stayed.

² I know a man in Christ fourteen years before--whether in the body, I do not know, or out of the body, I do not know, God knows--such a one was caught up to the third Heaven. ³ And I know such a man--whether in the body or out of the body, I do not know; God knows--

¹⁵ and that from a babe you know the Holy Scriptures, those being able to make you wise to salvation through belief in Christ Jesus.

⁴ And Abimelech had not come near her. And he said, O Lord, will You slay even a righteous nation? ⁵ And did he not say to me, She is my sister? And she, even she herself said, He is my brother. In the honor of my heart and the purity of my hands I have done this.

⁴ and it happened, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of Jehovah, that Obadiah had taken a hundred prophets and had hidden them, fifty men in a cave, and had fed them with bread and water)

²¹ For I have kept the ways of Jehovah, and have not wickedly departed from my God. ²² For all His judgments were before me, and I did not turn away His statutes from me. ²³ For I was upright with Him, and kept myself from my guilt. ²⁴ And Jehovah has returned to me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands before His eyes.

³⁴ But you yourselves know that these hands ministered to my needs, and to those who were with me.

⁹ For, brothers, you remember our labor and toil, night and day, working in order not to put a burden on any one of you, we proclaimed to you the gospel of God. ¹⁰ You and God are witnesses how holily and righteously and blamelessly we were to you, those believing;

¹ And the heavens and the earth were finished, and all their host.

³⁸ Joshua the son of Nun, who stands before you, he shall go in there; you shall strengthen him; for he shall cause Israel to inherit.

¹⁹ and that you not lift up your eyes towards the heavens and shall see the sun, and the heavens, and you be drawn away and worship them, and serve them; which Jehovah your God has allotted to all the peoples under all the heavens.

¹⁰ As Jehovah your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom where my lord has not sent to seek you; and when they said, He is not here, then he caused the kingdom and the nation to swear that it did not find you.

³ Is there any number of His armies? And on whom does His light not rise?

⁸ Who is this King of glory? Jehovah strong and mighty! Jehovah mighty in battle! ⁹ Lift up your heads, O gates; even lift up, O everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. ¹⁰ Who is this King of glory? Jehovah of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah.

²¹ Bless Jehovah, all His hosts, ministers of His, doing His will.

² Praise Him, all His angels; praise Him, all His hosts. ³ Praise Him, sun and moon; praise Him, all you stars of light.

³ And one cried to the other and said, Holy, holy, holy is Jehovah of Hosts; all the earth is full of His glory!

⁷ Hear Me, knowers of righteousness, the people of My law in their heart; do not fear the reproach of man, and do not be bowed from their blasphemings. ⁸ For the moth shall eat them like a garment; yea, the moth worm shall eat them like wool. But My righteousness shall be forever, and My salvation to generation to generation.

² And they shall spread them before the sun and the moon and all the host of the heavens whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshiped. They shall not be gathered or buried; they shall be dung on the face of the ground.

¹⁹ And answering, the angel said to him, I am Gabriel, who stands before God, and I was sent to speak to you and to announce to you the good news of these things.

¹³ And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying, ¹⁴ Glory to God in the highest, and peace on earth, good will among men.

¹⁶ For men indeed swear by the greater, and an oath to make things sure is to them the end of all gainsaying. ¹⁷ In which way, desiring to more fully declare to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His counsel, God interposed by an oath,

²⁵ And Joshua said, How you have troubled us! Jehovah shall trouble you today! And all Israel threw stones at him, and they burned them with fire, and they stoned them with stones.

²⁰ And Ahab said to Elijah, Have you found me, O my enemy? And he said, I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do that which is evil in the eyes of Jehovah.

⁸ And it happened when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that Jehovah had commanded him to speak to all the people, the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, saying, You shall surely die. ⁹ Why have you prophesied in the name of Jehovah, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be wasted, without inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of Jehovah.

⁴ And the rulers said to the king, Please let this man be put to death. For in this way he weakens the hands of the men of war who remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking these words to them. For this man does not seek the peace of this people, but the evil.

¹⁰ Then Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, sent to Jeroboam, the king of Israel, saying, Amos has plotted against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land is not able to endure all his words.

²⁰ And bringing them near to the magistrates, they said, These men are very much troubling our city, being Jews,

⁶ But not finding them, they dragged Jason and some brothers before the city judges, crying, Those turning the habitable world upside down have come here, too;

⁵ For finding this man pestilent and moving insurrection among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the Nazarene sect;

⁹ And they shall say, Because they have forsaken Jehovah their God, who brought their fathers out from the land of Egypt, and they laid hold on other gods and bowed themselves to them and served them. On account of this Jehovah has brought in upon them all this evil.

³¹ And it happened as if it were a light thing, that he walked in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took a wife, Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal, the king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal, and bowed himself to it.

²⁵ Surely, none has been like Ahab, who sold himself to do that which was evil in the eyes of Jehovah, whom his wife Jezebel incited.

² And he went out before Asa, and said to him, Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. Jehovah is with you while you are with Him. And if you seek Him, He will be found by you. But if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.

¹⁹ So righteousness leads to life, but one pursuing evil, to his death.

²¹ Evil pursues sinners, but the righteous shall be rewarded with good.

¹¹ Woe to the wicked! For the evil, the doing of his hand will be done to him.

¹³ For My people have committed two evils: they have forsaken Me, the Fountain of living waters, to hew out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that can hold no water.

¹⁹ Your own wickedness shall correct you, and your apostasies shall reprove you. Know, then, and see that your forsaking Jehovah your God is evil and bitter; and My fear is not in you, declares the Lord Jehovah of hosts.

⁸ Behold, I have made your face strong over against their faces, and your forehead strong over against their foreheads.

⁴ For John said to him, It is not lawful for you to have her.

¹³ nor are they able to prove that concerning which they now accuse me.

²⁰ Or these themselves say if they found anything unjust in me, I standing before the sanhedrin,

⁸ And to the angel of the church of Smyrna, write: These things says the First and the Last, who became dead, and lived: ⁹ I know your works, and the affliction, and the poverty; but you are rich. And I know the evil speaking of those saying themselves to be Jews, and they are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

²⁶ and Alammelech, and Amad, and Misheal, and reaches to Carmel westward, and to Shihor-libnath.

¹² And Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning. And it was told to Samuel, saying, Saul has come to Carmel. And behold, he has set up a monument to himself, and has gone around, and has passed over and gone down to Gilgal. ¹³ And he also removed his mother Maachah from being queen, in that she made a horrid thing for Asherah. And Asa cut down her horrid thing and burned it by the torrent Kidron.

³³ And Ahab made an Asherah, and Ahab did still more to provoke to anger Jehovah the God of Israel than all the kings of Israel that were before him.

²² Then Elijah said to the people, I, I alone, remain a prophet of Jehovah; but the prophets of Baal are four hundred and fifty men.

⁴² And Ahab went up to eat, and to drink; and Elijah went up to the top of Carmel, and he stretched himself out on the earth, and he put his face between his knees; ⁴³ and said to his young man, Now go up, look closely to the way of the sea. And he went up and looked closely, and said, There is nothing; and he said, Go back seven times.

¹ And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah did, and all that he killed, all the prophets by the sword. ² And Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, So let the gods do, and more so, if not at this time tomorrow I will cause your life to be as the life of one of them.

⁶ And the king of Israel gathered the prophets, about four hundred men, and said to them, Shall I go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up, that the Lord may give it into the hand of the king.

²⁵ And he went from there to Mount Carmel, and from there he returned to Samaria.

²² And it happened, when Jehoram saw Jehu, he said, Peace, Jehu? And he said, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of your mother Jezebel and her sorceries are so many?

⁶ Only, they did not turn aside from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who caused Israel to sin; he walked in it, and also the Asherah remained in Samaria.

¹⁸ As I live, says the king whose name is Jehovah of Hosts, Surely as Tabor is among the mountains, and as Carmel is by the sea, he shall come.

² And he said: Jehovah will roar from Zion and utter His voice from Jerusalem. And the pastures of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall dry up.

³ And if they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out from there. And if they hide from My eyes in the bottom of the sea, from there I will command the serpent, and he will bite them.

¹ But false prophets were also among the people, as also false teachers will be among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, and denying the Master who has bought them, bringing swift destruction on themselves.

²⁰ But I have a few things against you, that you allow the woman Jezebel to teach, she saying herself to be a prophetess, and to cause My slaves to go astray, and to commit fornication, and to eat idol sacrifices.

²⁰ And the beast was seized, and with this one the false prophet doing signs before it, by which he led astray those having received the mark of the beast, and those worshiping its image. The two were thrown alive into the Lake of Fire burning with brimstone.

⁹ And the king of Israel called to a certain eunuch and said, Cause Micaiah the son of Imlah to hurry.

⁵⁰ And Laban and Bethuel answered and said, The thing has come from Jehovah; we are not able to speak to you good or evil.

¹ And afterward Moses and Aaron came in and said to Pharaoh, So says Jehovah the God of Israel, Send away My people, and they shall feast to Me in the wilderness. ² And Pharaoh said, Who is Jehovah that I should listen to His voice to send away Israel? I do not know Jehovah, and I also will not send Israel away.

³⁵ To you it was revealed, so that you might know that Jehovah is God, and no one else besides Him.

¹⁵ And if it seems evil in your eyes to serve Jehovah, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve, whether the gods whom your fathers served Beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. But as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.

²³ and now turn away from the strange gods among you, and incline your heart to Jehovah the God of Israel. ²⁴ And the people said to Joshua, We will serve Jehovah our God, and we will listen to His voice.

³ And Samuel said to all the house of Israel, saying, If you are returning to Jehovah with all your heart, put aside the alien gods from among you, and the Ashtoreths. And prepare your heart to Jehovah, and serve Him only, and He will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.

³⁹ And all the people saw, and fell on their faces, and said, Jehovah, He is the God; Jehovah, He is the God!

⁴¹ And it happened, these nations feared Jehovah, yet they served their graven images, both their sons and their sons' sons, As their fathers did, they are doing to this day.

²⁶ And now, O Jehovah, You are God Himself, and You speak this goodness concerning Your servant;

¹³ and prayed to Him, and He was entreated of him and heard his supplication, and returned him to Jerusalem to his kingdom; and Manasseh knew that Jehovah, He is God.

⁴ Behold, I am vile! What shall I answer You? I will put my hand to my mouth. ⁵ Once I have spoken, but I will not answer; yea, twice, but I will go no further.

³ Know that Jehovah, He is God; He has made us, and not we ourselves, His people and the sheep of His pasture.

⁵ and those bowing to the host of the heavens on the housetops; and those bowing, swearing to Jehovah, also swearing by Malcham,

²⁴ No one is able to serve two lords; for either he will hate the one, and he will love the other; or he will cleave to the one, and he will despise the other. You are not able to serve God and wealth.

¹² And he said to him, Friend, how did you come in here, not having a wedding garment? But he was speechless.

³⁴ But hearing that He had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees were gathered together.

³⁶ Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?

¹³ And when it became day, He called His disciples, also choosing out twelve from them, whom He also named apostles:

¹⁹ But we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those within the Law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world be under judgment to God.

¹⁶ Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves as slaves for obedience, you are slaves to whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or obedience to righteousness? ¹⁷ But thanks be to God that you were slaves of sin, but you obeyed from the heart the form of doctrine to which you were delivered. ¹⁸ And having been set free from sin, you were enslaved to righteousness. ¹⁹ I speak as a man on account of the weakness of your flesh. For as you presented your members as slaves to uncleanness and to lawless act unto lawless act, so now yield your members as slaves to righteousness unto sanctification. ²⁰ For when you were slaves of sin, you were free as to righteousness. ²¹ Therefore what fruit did you have then in the things over which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. ²² But now being set free from sin, and being enslaved to God, you have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end everlasting life.

²¹ you cannot drink the cup of the Lord and a cup of demons; you cannot partake of the table of the Lord, and a table of demons. ²² Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He? Deut. 32:21

¹⁴ Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership does righteousness have with lawlessness? And what fellowship does light have with darkness? ¹⁵ And what agreement does Christ have with Belial? Or what part does a believer have with an unbeliever? ¹⁶ And what agreement does a temple of God have with idols? For you are a temple of the living God, even as God said, "I will" dwell in them and "walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people." Lev. 26:12; Ezek. 37:27

¹⁵ I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I would that you were cold, or hot. ¹⁶ So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I am about to vomit you out of My mouth.

¹⁹ And now send, gather all Israel to me, to Mount Carmel and four hundred and fifty of the prophets of Baal, and four hundred of the prophets of Asherah, who eat at the table of Jezebel. ²⁰ And Ahab sent among all the sons of Israel and gathered the prophets to Mount Carmel.

¹⁰ And he said, I have been very zealous for Jehovah the God of Hosts, for the sons of Israel have forsaken Your covenant; they have thrown down Your altars, and they have killed Your prophets with the sword, and I am left, I alone, and they seek to take my life.

¹⁴ And he said, I have been very zealous for Jehovah, God of Hosts for the sons of Israel have forsaken Your covenant; they have thrown down Your altars, and they have slain Your prophets by the sword; and I, I alone, am left; and they seek to take my life.

¹³ And behold, a certain prophet came near to Ahab the king of Israel, and said, So says Jehovah, Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold I am going to give it into your hand today, and you shall know that I am Jehovah.

³² And they girded sackcloth on their loins, and ropes on their heads. And they came in to the king of Israel and said, Your servant Ben-hadad has said, Please let me live. And he said, Is he yet alive? He is my brother.

³⁵ And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said to his neighbor, By the word of Jehovah, please strike me. And the man refused to strike him.

³⁸ And the prophet went and stood for the king on the highway, and disguised himself with ashes on his eyes.

⁶ And the king of Israel gathered the prophets, about four hundred men, and said to them, Shall I go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up, that the Lord may give it into the hand of the king. ⁷ And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of Jehovah besides, that we might inquire of him? ⁸ And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Yet one man, to seek Jehovah by him. But I hate him, for he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil, Micaiah the son of Imlah. And Jehoshaphat said, let not the king say so.

¹³ Go in through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are the ones who go through it. ¹⁴ For narrow is the gate, and constricted is the way that leads away into life, and few are the ones who find it. ¹⁵ But beware of the false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inside they are plundering wolves.

³ Lord, "they killed Your prophets," "and they dug down Your altars," "and only I am left, and they seek my life." 1 Kg. 19:10

³ For a time will be when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own lusts, they will heap up to themselves teachers tickling the ear; ⁴ and they will turn away the ear from the truth and will be turned aside to myths.

¹ But false prophets were also among the people, as also false teachers will be among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, and denying the Master who has bought them, bringing swift destruction on themselves. ² And many will follow their destructive ways, by whom the way of truth will be evil spoken of. ³ And by covetousness, with well-turned words, they will use you for gain, for whom judgment of old does not linger, and their destruction does not slumber.

²⁴ And fire came out from before Jehovah and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar. And all the people saw, and cried aloud, and fell on their faces.

²¹ And the Angel of Jehovah put forth the end of the staff in His hand and touched the flesh and the unleavened bread . And the fire rose up out of the rock and burned up the flesh and the unleavened bread . And the Angel of Jehovah went out of his sight.

¹⁹ And the king said, Is the hand of Joab with you in all this? And the woman answered and said, As your soul lives, my lord, O king, none shall turn to the right or to the left from all that my lord the king has spoken. For your servant Joab commanded me, and he put all these words in your servant's mouth.

³⁸ And fire fell from Jehovah and burned up the burnt offering, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and the water in the trench was licked up.

²⁶ And David built an altar there to Jehovah, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called to Jehovah; and He answered him with fire from the heavens on the altar of the burnt offering.

¹ And when Solomon finished praying, then the fire came down from Heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of Jehovah filled the house;

³ And all the sons of Israel were watching, when the fire came down, and the glory of Jehovah was on the house and they bowed their noses to the earth, on the pavement, and worshiped, and gave thanks to Jehovah: for He is good, for His mercy endures forever.

⁸ Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, The word of Jehovah that you have said is good. And he said, For there shall be peace and truth in my days.

²⁴ And you shall call on the name of your god; and I, I will call on the name of Jehovah; and it shall be, the god who answers by fire, he is the God. And all the people answered and said, The word is good.

⁴ Their idols are silver and gold, the work of man's hands; ⁵ they have mouths, but they do not speak; they have eyes, but they do not see; ⁶ they have ears, but they do not hear; they have a nose, but they do not smell; ⁷ their hands do not feel; their feet do not walk; they do not mutter through their throat. ⁸ The ones who make them are like them, and everyone trusting in them.

¹⁵ The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men's hands; ¹⁶ they have mouths, but they say nothing; they have eyes, but they see nothing; ¹⁷ they have ears, but they hear nothing; yea, there is no breath in their mouths. ¹⁸ Those who make them are like them, everyone who is trusting in them. ¹⁹ Bless Jehovah, O house of Israel; bless Jehovah, O house of Aaron; ²⁰ Bless Jehovah, O house of Levi; you who fear Jehovah, bless Jehovah.

³⁸ And it happened as he was worshiping in the house of his god Nisroch, even his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer struck him with the sword. And they escaped into the land of Ararat. And his son Esarhaddon reigned in his place.

¹⁷ And he makes a god of the rest, his carved image; he bows to it and worships, and prays to it, and says, Deliver me, for you are my god.

²⁰ Gather yourselves and come; draw near together, escaped ones of the nations; the ones who set up the wood of their carved image, and the ones who pray to a god who cannot save; they know nothing.

⁵ They are like a rounded post, and they cannot speak; they must surely be carried, because they cannot walk. Do not be afraid of them, for they cannot do evil nor good; it is not with them.

²³ But you have lifted yourself up against the Lord of Heaven. And they have brought the vessels of His house before you. And you, and your nobles, your wives, and your concubines have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver, and gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see, nor hear, and do not know. And you have not glorified the God in whose hand your life breath and all your ways is .

¹⁸ What does an image profit, for its maker has carved it; a molten image, and a teacher of falsehood? For does the maker trust in his work on it, to make mute idols?

⁹ And I will punish all those who leap on the threshold in that day, who fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit.

⁷ But when you pray, do not babble vain words, as the nations; for they think that they shall be heard in their much speaking.

⁴ Then concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God except one.

¹⁹ What then do I say, that an idol is anything, or that an idolatrous sacrifice is anything? ²⁰ But the things the nations sacrifice, " they sacrifice to demons, and not to God." Deut. 32:17 But I do not want you to become sharers of demons;

² You know that being led away, you nations were led to dumb idols.

¹⁵ And he came in to the king. And the king said to him, Micaiah, shall we go to battle to Ramoth-gilead, or shall we forbear? And he said to him, Go up, and prosper, and Jehovah shall give it into the king's hand.

⁸ but if you will go, do it; be strong for battle; God shall make you fall before the enemy, for God has power to help, and to cause to stumble.

²³ Be aroused! Why do You sleep, O God? Awake! Do not cast us off forever.

⁶⁵ Then the Lord awoke, as one asleep, like a mighty man rejoicing with wine. ⁶⁶ And He drove His enemies backward; He put them to a never-ending shame.

⁴ Behold, He who keeps Israel will not slumber nor sleep.

⁹ Rejoice, O young man, in your youth. And make your heart glad in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes; but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.

⁹ O peoples, suffer evil, and be broken! And listen, all from the far places of the earth; gird yourselves, and be broken. Gird yourselves and be broken! ¹⁰ Counsel a counsel, and it is frustrated; speak a word, and it shall not rise; for God is with us.

²³ Reveal the near things hereafter, so that we may know that you are gods. Yea, do good, or do evil, that we may gaze and see together.

¹⁵ And it shall be for a man to burn; yea, he takes of them and is warmed; and he kindles it and bakes bread. Yea, he makes a god and worships; he makes a carved image and bows to it. ¹⁶ He burns half of it in the fire; he eats flesh on half of it; he roasts roast, and is satisfied. Then he warms himself and says, Ah, I am warm; I have seen the fire. ¹⁷ And he makes a god of the rest, his carved image; he bows to it and worships, and prays to it, and says, Deliver me, for you are my god.

⁹ Awake! Awake! Arm of Jehovah, put on strength. Awake, as in days of old, everlasting generations. Was it not You cutting in pieces Rahab, and piercing the sea monster?

³⁹ And you, O house of Israel, so says the Lord Jehovah: Every man go, serve his idols, even hereafter, if you will not listen to Me. But you will not still profane My holy name with your gifts and with your idols.

⁴ Come into Bethel and transgress; multiply transgressing at Gilgal. And bring our sacrifices for the morning, your tithes for three days; ⁵ and offer a sacrifice of a thanksgiving offering that is leavened. And cry out, call out the voluntary offerings! For so you love to do, sons of Israel, declares the Lord Jehovah.

⁴⁵ Then He came to His disciples and said to them, Sleep on, and rest for what time remains. Behold, the hour draws near, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

³⁸ And He was on the stern, sleeping on the headrest. And they awakened Him, and said to Him, Teacher, does it not matter to You that we are perishing? ³⁹ And being awakened, He rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, Silence! Be still! And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

⁹ And He said to them, Do you do well to set aside the commandment of God so that you may keep your tradition?

⁴¹ And He came a third time, and said to them, Sleep on now, and rest. It is enough. The hour has come. Behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

²⁸ And you shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead; and you shall not put on yourself any etched mark; I am Jehovah.

¹ You are sons to Jehovah your God; you shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.

⁷ Will Jehovah be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of torrents of oil? Shall I give my first-born for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

⁵ And continually night and day in the hills, and in the tombs, he was crying and cutting himself with stones.

²² And often it threw him both into fire and into water, that it might destroy him. But if You are able to do anything, help us, having pity on us.

³⁹ The one lamb you shall offer in the morning, and the second lamb you shall offer between the evenings.

⁴¹ And you shall offer the second lamb between the evenings; you shall do to it like the morning food offering and its drink offering, for a soothing fragrance, a fire offering to Jehovah.

¹⁰ And on the next day it happened that the evil spirit from God came on Saul. And he prophesied in the midst of the house; and David was playing with his hand, as he did day by day. And Saul's spear was in his hand.

²⁶ And they took the bullock that was given to them, and prepared, and called on the name of Baal from the morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, answer us! And there was no sound, and no one was answering; and they leaped about the altar that one had made.

¹⁰ And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah each was sitting on his throne having put on their robes, in a grain-floor in the entrance of the gate of Samaria. And all the prophets prophesied before them.

¹² And all the prophets were prophesying so, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and prosper. For Jehovah shall give it into the king's hand.

⁶ even the prophet Jeremiah said, Amen! May Jehovah do so; may Jehovah confirm your words which you have prophesied, to bring again the vessels of the house of Jehovah, and all the exiles, from Babylon into this place. ⁷ But hear now this word that I speak in your ears and in the ears of all the people: ⁸ The prophets who have been before me and before you from antiquity prophesied against many lands and against great kingdoms, of war, and of evil, and of plague. ⁹ As for the prophet who prophesies of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, the prophet shall be known as one whom Jehovah has truly sent him.

¹⁶ And it happened, as we went into a place of prayer, a certain girl slave having a Pythonic spirit met us, whose divining brought much gain to her lords. ¹⁷ Following after Paul and us, she cried out, saying, These men are slaves of the Most High God, who are announcing to us a way of salvation!

⁴ Every man praying or prophesying, having anything down over his head shames his Head. ⁵ And every woman praying or prophesying with the head unveiled dishonors her head, for it is the same as being shaved.

⁸ But then, indeed, not knowing God, you served as slaves to the ones not by nature being gods.

⁸ But in the way Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so also these withstand the truth, men having been corrupted in mind, found worthless as to the faith. ⁹ But they will not go further, for their foolishness will be plain to all, as also that of those became.

¹⁶ And he built the altar of Jehovah, and sacrificed on it sacrifices of peace offerings and thank offerings, and commanded Judah to serve Jehovah, the God of Israel.

²⁸ And He said, Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, because you have wrestled with God and with men, and have prevailed.

²⁰ And he set up an altar there. And he called it, El, the God of Israel.

¹⁰ And God said to him, Your name is Jacob; your name will not any more be called Jacob, but Israel will be your name. And He called his name Israel.

⁴ And Moses wrote all the words of Jehovah. And he rose early in the morning and built an altar below the mountain, and twelve memorial pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel.

³ And charge them, saying, Take twelve stones from this place, from the middle of the Jordan, from the place where the feet of the priests were fixed. And you shall carry them over with you and lay them down in the lodging place which you stay the night. ⁴ And Joshua called to the twelve men whom he had readied from the sons of Israel, one man out of each tribe.

²⁰ And the twelve stones which they took out of the Jordan were raised up in Gilgal by Joshua.

³⁴ To this day they do according to the former custom; they do not fear Jehovah, and do not do according to their statutes, and according to their ordinances, and according to the law, and according to the commandment that Jehovah commanded the sons of Jacob, on whom He set His name, Israel.

¹⁷ And they offered at the dedication of this house of God a hundred bulls, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs, and twelve male goats, for a sin offering for all Israel, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.

¹ Hear this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and have come out from the waters of Judah, who swear by Jehovah's name and profess by the God of Israel, not in truth or in righteousness.

¹ At that time, says Jehovah, I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people.

¹⁶ saying, And you, son of man, take one stick to yourself and write on it, For Judah, and for his companions, the sons of Israel. And take another stick and write on it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and all the house of Israel, his companions. ¹⁷ And draw them one to one for yourself, into one stick. And they shall become for oneness in your hand. ¹⁸ And when the sons of your people shall speak to you, saying, Will you not declare to us what these mean to you? ¹⁹ Say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions. And I will put them with him, with the stick of Judah, and I will make them one stick, and they shall be one in My hand. ²⁰ And the sticks shall be in your hand, the ones on which you write before their eyes. ²¹ And say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will take the sons of Israel from among the nations, there where they have gone, and will gather them from all around, and will bring them into their own land. ²² And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and one King shall be for a king to all of them. And they shall not be two nations still. And they will not be split into two kingdoms any more.

¹³ So says the Lord Jehovah: This shall be the border by which you shall inherit the land, by the twelve tribes of Israel. Joseph shall have two portions.

²⁰ being built up on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the cornerstone,

⁴ There is one body and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling; ⁵ one Lord, one faith, one baptism, ⁶ one God and Father of all, He above all and through all and in you all.

⁴ And I heard the number of those having been sealed: one hundred forty four thousands, having been sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel: ⁵ Out of the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Gad, twelve thousand having been sealed. ⁶ Out of the tribe of Asher, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Manasseh, twelve thousand having been sealed. ⁷ Out of the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Issachar, twelve thousand having been sealed. ⁸ Out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Joseph, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Benjamin, twelve thousand having been sealed.

¹² and having a great and high wall, having twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates and names having been inscribed, which are of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel.

²⁴ You shall make an altar of earth for Me, and you shall sacrifice your burnt offerings and your peace offerings on it, your sheep and your cattle. In every place in which I cause My name to be remembered, I will come to you and will bless you. ²⁵ And if you make an altar of stone for Me, you shall not build them of cut stones. When you swing your tool on it, you defile it.

²⁶ And you shall build an altar to Jehovah your God on the top of this stronghold, in an orderly way, and shall take the second bullock and offer a burnt offering with the wood of the pillar which you have cut down.

⁴ And it happened on the next day, the people rose early and built an altar there, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings.

⁹ And Samuel took a milk lamb and offered a whole burnt offering to Jehovah. And Samuel cried to Jehovah for Israel. And Jehovah answered him.

¹⁷ And he returned to Ramah, for his house was there. And there he judged Israel; and he built an altar to Jehovah there.

³¹ Then whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all things to the glory of God.

¹⁷ And everything, whatever you do in word or in work, do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father through Him.

⁹ And they came to the place which God had said to him. And Abraham built there the altar, and arranged the wood. And he bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on the wood.

⁶ And he shall skin the burnt offering, and shall cut it into pieces. ⁷ And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire. ⁸ And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall arrange the pieces, with the head and the fat, on the wood on the fire, which is on the altar.

²⁰ And the Angel of Jehovah said to him, Take the flesh and the unleavened bread and place them on this rock, and pour out the broth. And he did so.

¹⁹ Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with wrath, and the form of his face was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He spoke and commanded to heat the furnace seven times more than it was usual to heat it.

²⁵ {cf9 : He answered and said, Behold! I see four men loose, walking in the middle of the fire, and there is no harm among them. And the form of the fourth is like a son of the gods.}

³⁹ Jesus said, Lift the stone. Martha, the sister of the one that had died, said to Him, Lord, he already smells, for it is the fourth day . ⁴⁰ Jesus said to her, Did I not say to you that if you would believe you will see the glory of God?

³³ But on coming to Jesus, when they saw He was dead already, they did not break His legs. ³⁴ But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a lance, and at once blood and water came out.

² But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor adulterating the word of God, but by the revelation of the truth commending ourselves to every conscience of men before God.

²¹ providing right things not only before the Lord, but also before men. Prov. 3:4

³² And he built an altar with the stones in the name of Jehovah, and made a trench around the altar large as two seahs of seed in space.

²⁴ And Jehovah appeared to him in the same night, and said, I am the God of your father Abraham; do not fear, for I am with you; and I will bless you and increase your seed, because of My servant Abraham.

⁵³ The God of Abraham, the God of Nahor, the God of their father, let judge between us. And Jacob swore by the Fear of his father Isaac.

⁹ And Jacob said, Oh God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, Jehovah, who said to me, Go back to your land and to your kindred and I will deal well with you.

³ And He said, I am God, the God of your fathers. Do not fear to go down into Egypt, for I will make of you a great nation there.

⁶ And He said, I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face, for he feared to look upon God.

¹⁵ And God said to Moses again, You shall say this to the sons of Israel, Jehovah the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial from generation to generation. ¹⁶ Go, and gather the elders of Israel and say to them, Jehovah the God of your fathers has appeared to me, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, I have surely visited you and have seen what is done to you in Egypt.

³⁹ The one lamb you shall offer in the morning, and the second lamb you shall offer between the evenings. ⁴⁰ And a tenth of fine flour anointed with beaten oil. a fourth of a hin, and a drink offering, a fourth of a hin of wine, for the one lamb. ⁴¹ And you shall offer the second lamb between the evenings; you shall do to it like the morning food offering and its drink offering, for a soothing fragrance, a fire offering to Jehovah.

²⁸ And Moses said, By this you shall know that Jehovah has sent me to do all these works, and that not from my own heart. ²⁹ If these die according to the death of all men, and are visited according to the visitation of all men, then Jehovah has not sent me. ³⁰ And if Jehovah makes a new thing, and the ground opens her mouth and swallows them, and all that they have, and they go down alive to Sheol, then you shall know that these men have despised Jehovah.

⁴⁶ Today Jehovah shall shut you up into my hand, and I shall strike you, and take off your head from you and give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the heavens and to the beasts of the earth today. And all the earth shall know that there is a God for Israel. ⁴⁷ And all this company shall know that Jehovah does not save by sword and by spear, but that the battle belongs to Jehovah, and He has given you into our hand.

⁴³ You shall hear in Heaven, Your dwellingplace, and shall do according to all that the stranger calls to You for, so that all the peoples of the earth may know Your name, to fear You like Your people Israel, and to know that Your name has been called on this house which I have built.

²¹ And Elijah came near all the people and said, Until when are you limping over two opinions? If Jehovah is God, follow Him; and if Baal, follow him. But the people did not answer him a word.

²⁹ And it happened as noon passed by, that they prophesied madly until the offering up of the offering; and no sound came, and no one was answering, and no one was paying attention.

²⁸ And Micaiah said, If you at all return in peace, Jehovah has not spoken by me. And he said, Hear, O people, all of them.

³ And an angel of Jehovah spoke to Elijah the Tishbite, Rise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say to them, Is it because there is not a God in Israel that you are going to ask of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron?

⁶ And they said to him, A man came up to meet us, and said to us, Go, return to the king who sent you. And you shall say to him, So says Jehovah, Is it because there is not a God in Israel that you are sending to ask of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron? Therefore, you shall not come down from the bed on which you have gone up, for you shall certainly die.

¹⁵ And he went back to the man of God, he and all his company, and came in and stood before him, and said, Behold, now I know that there is not a God in all the earth except in Israel. And now, please take a blessing from your servant.

¹⁹ And now, O Jehovah our God, we pray to You, save us out of his hand, and all the kingdoms of the earth shall know that You are Jehovah God, You alone.

¹⁸ O Jehovah, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep this forever for the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of your people, and prepare their heart toward You;

⁶ and said, O Jehovah, the God of our fathers, are not You the God in Heaven? Yea, You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is power and might; and there is none able to withstand You. ⁷ Are You not our God? You have driven out the inhabitants of this land from before Your people Israel, and have given it to the seed of Abraham, Your friend forever;

⁴ Then everyone who trembled at the words of the God of Israel were gathered to me, because of the perfidy of the exiles. And I remained stunned until the evening offering. ⁵ And at the evening offering I rose up from my fasting, and with my garment and my robe torn, I even fell on my knees and spread out my hands to Jehovah my God.

¹ To the chief musician, for stringed instruments. A Psalm. A song. May God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us. Selah. ² That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.

¹⁸ And let them know Your name is Jehovah, that You alone are the Most High over all the earth.

² Let my prayer be established before You as incense; the lifting up of my palms as the evening sacrifice.

²³ And I will sanctify My great name which was profaned among the nations, which you profaned among them. And the nations shall know that I am Jehovah, declares the Lord Jehovah, when I am sanctified in you in their eyes.

⁷ And I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel. And I will not let My holy name be profaned any more. And the nations shall know that I am Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel.

¹³ Then I heard a certain holy one speaking, and another holy one said to that one who spoke, Until when is the vision, the regular sacrifice and the desolating transgression, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled?

²¹ And while I was setting my prayer in order, then the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, touched me in my severe exhaustion about the time of the evening sacrifice.

¹¹ And from the time the regular sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that desolates set up, a thousand, two hundred and ninety days shall occur .

³² "I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?" God is not God of the dead, but of the living. Ex. 3:6

⁴² And I know that you always hear Me, but because of the crowd standing around, I said it, that they might believe that You sent Me.

¹ And Peter and John were going up on the same day into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth.

³⁰ And Cornelius said, From the fourth day until this hour I have been fasting, and the ninth hour I was praying in my house. And, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing.

¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the full knowledge of Him,

¹⁴ For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

²⁴ And Jacob was left alone. And a Man wrestled with him until the ascending of the dawn.

²⁶ And He said, Send me away, for the dawn has ascended. And he said, I will not let you go unless You bless me.

³⁶ And it happened at the offering of the sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near and said, O Jehovah, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel, and I Your servant, that by Your word I have done all these things.

¹¹ And Asa called to Jehovah his God, and said, O Jehovah, it is nothing to You to help between the mighty and him with no strength. Help us, O Jehovah our God; for we rest on You, and in Your name we come against this host. O Jehovah, You are our God. Do not let man hold out against You.

¹⁹ And they spoke against the God of Jerusalem as against the gods of the peoples of the land, the work of the hands of man. ²⁰ And Hezekiah the king and Isaiah the son of Amoz, the prophet, prayed about this, and they cried to Heaven.

¹⁷ Bow down Your ear, O Jehovah, and hear. Open Your eye, O Jehovah, and see; and hear all the words of Sennacherib which he has sent, to reproach the living God. ¹⁸ Truly, O Jehovah, the kings of Assyria have crushed all the lands, and their land, ¹⁹ and have given their gods into the fire (for they were not gods, only the work of men's hands, wood and stone; so they have destroyed them). ²⁰ And now, O Jehovah our God, save us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are Jehovah, You alone.

¹⁸ I have surely heard Ephraim moaning over himself, saying, You have chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bull not broken in. Turn me, and I shall be turned; for You are Jehovah my God. ¹⁹ For after I had turned away, I repented; and after I was taught, I slapped on my thigh. I was ashamed; yea, I even blushed, because I bore the disgrace of my youth.

²⁵ Then I will sprinkle clean waters on you, and you shall be clean. I will cleanse you from all your defilement and from all your idols. ²⁶ And I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. And I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give to you a heart of flesh. ²⁷ And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall keep My judgments and do them .

¹⁷ And now, hear, O our God, the prayer of Your servant and his holy desires, and cause Your face to shine on Your sanctuary that is desolate, for the sake of the Lord. ¹⁸ O my God, bow down Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our ruins and the city which is called by Your name. For we do not present our prayers before You on account of our righteousnesses, but because of Your great mercies. ¹⁹ O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay, for Your own sake, O my God. For Your name is called on Your city and on Your people.

⁵ Behold, I am sending you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of Jehovah. ⁶ And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the sons, and the heart of the sons to their fathers, that I not come and strike the earth with utter destruction. END OF THE OLD TESTAMENT

¹⁶ And he will turn many of the sons of Israel to the Lord their God. ¹⁷ And he will go out before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah "to turn the hearts of fathers to their children," and disobedient ones to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people having been prepared for the Lord. Mal. 4:5, 6

⁸ I say to you, even if rising up he will not give to him because he is a friend, yet because of his shameless insisting, rising up he will give him as many as he needs.

¹⁶ Confess faults to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous one has great strength, having been made effective. ¹⁷ Elijah was a man of like feeling to us, and he prayed in prayer for it not to rain; and it did not rain on the earth three years and six months.

¹⁷ And it happened, the sun had gone down, and it was dark. Behold! A smoking furnace and a torch of fire that passed between those pieces!

² And fire went out from before Jehovah and consumed them; and they died before Jehovah.

¹² And Elijah answered and said to them, If I am a man of God, fire will come down from the heavens and will consume you and your fifty. And fire from God came down from the heavens and consumed him and his fifty.

¹⁶ While this one was still speaking, this other also came and said, The fire of God has fallen from the heavens and has burned up the sheep and the young men. And it has destroyed them; and I, I alone have escaped to tell you.

⁹ And his rock will pass away from fear; and his commanders shall tremble at the banner, declares Jehovah, whose fire is in Zion, and His furnace in Jerusalem.

²⁰ And it happened as the flame from off the altar was going up to the heavens, that the Angel of Jehovah went up in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife were watching. And they fell on their faces to the ground.

¹⁶ And David lifted up his eyes and saw the angel of Jehovah standing between the earth and the heavens, and his sword drawn in his hand, stretched out over Jerusalem; and David and the elders fell on their faces, covered with sackcloth.

³⁵ That one was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to exult in his light for an hour.

³⁷ And hearing, they were stabbed in the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Men, brothers, What shall we do?

¹⁶ saying, What may we do to these men? For that a notable miracle indeed has occurred through them is plain to all those living in Jerusalem, and we are not able to deny it.

⁵ And that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has spoken apostasy against Jehovah your God, who is bringing you out of the land of Egypt, and has redeemed you out of the house of slaves, to drive you out of the way in which Jehovah your God has commanded you to walk. And you shall put away evil from among you.

²⁰ But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, that which I have not commanded him to speak, and who speaks in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.

⁷ And I will draw to you at the Kishon River Sisera the army commander of Jabin, and his chariots, and his multitude, and shall give him into your hands.

²¹ The Kishon torrent swept them away, the ancient river, the Kishon torrent. You trod my soul in strength.

²⁴ And they came in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings. And Jehu had set for himself eighty men on the outside. And he said, The man who lets any of the men escape whom I am bringing into your hands, his life for the life of him. ²⁵ And it happened, when he finished offering the burnt offering, Jehu said to the runners and the third officers, Go in, strike them. Do not let any man come out. And they struck them by the edge of the sword. And the runners and the third officers threw them out. And they went into the city to the house of Baal,

¹⁰ Cursed is he who does the work of Jehovah deceitfully, and cursed is he who keeps back his sword from blood.

² And it shall be in that day, I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall be remembered no more, says Jehovah of hosts. And I also will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land. ³ And it shall be when any shall prophesy again, his father and his mother who gave him birth shall say to him then, You shall not live, for you speak lies in the name of Jehovah. And his father and his mother who gave him birth shall pierce him when he prophesies.

¹⁰ And the Devil leading them astray was thrown into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet were . And they were tormented day and night forever and ever.

¹ And it happened after many days the word of Jehovah came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, show yourself to Ahab, and I will give rain on the face of the earth.

⁷ Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, for God now is pleased with your works.

³⁴ Because of this I beg you to take of food, for this is to your deliverance, for not a hair of your head shall perish.

⁵² And it happened when the slave of Abraham heard their words, he bowed himself to the earth to Jehovah.

⁶ And Joshua tore his clothing, and fell on his face to the earth before the ark of Jehovah until the evening, he and the elders of Israel. And they threw dust on their heads.

¹⁶ And David sought God for the child. And David fasted a fast, and went in and stayed the night, and lay on the earth.

¹³ And it happened when Elijah heard, he wrapped his face in his robe and went out and stood at the cave opening; and, behold, a voice came to him, and it said, What are you doing here, Elijah?

⁶ And I said, O my God, I am ashamed and wounded to lift up my face to You, O my God. For our iniquities have increased over our head, and our guiltiness has grown to the heavens.

⁷ God is greatly to be feared in the congregation of the saints, and to be adored by all around Him.

² Above it stood the seraphs. Each one had six wings; with two he covered his face; and with two he covered his feet; and with two he flew.

² And Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to Jehovah,

³ And I set my face toward the Lord God, to seek by prayer and holy desires, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes.

⁷ O Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but to us the shame of our faces, as it is this day to the men of Judah, and to the dwellers of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, who are near and who are afar through all the lands where You have scattered them for their unfaithfulness which they have done against You.

²³ And having dismissed the crowds, He went up into the mountain alone to pray. And evening coming on, He was there alone.

³⁵ And going forward a little, He fell on the ground and prayed that if it were possible, the hour might pass from Him.

¹² And it happened in these days, He went out into the mountain to pray. And He was spending the night in prayer to God.

⁹ And on the morrow, these passing along on the road, and drawing near to the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray about the sixth hour.

³ You will hear my voice in the morning, O Jehovah, I will set myself for You in the morning, and I will look up.

³ For the vision is still for the appointed time, but it breathes to the end, and it does not lie. Though it delays, wait for it, because it will surely come; it will not tarry.

¹ And He also spoke a parable to them to teach it is always right to pray, and not to faint,

⁷ and will God not at all execute the avenging of His elect, those crying to Him day and night, also having been long-suffering over them?

¹⁸ through all prayer and petition, praying at every time in the Spirit, and watching to this same thing with all perseverance and petition concerning all the saints.

³⁶ For you have need of patience, that having done the will of God you may obtain the promise. ³⁷ For, yet a very little and the One coming will come, "and will not delay." Hab. 2:3

⁷ And now, take and make one new cart, and two suckling cows, on which a yoke has never gone up. And you shall tie the cows to the cart, and cause their young ones to return home from them.

¹⁰ And the men did so. And they took two suckling cows and tied them to the cart. And they shut their young ones in the house.

⁷ And your beginning was small, yet your end would greatly increase.

¹³ Inhabitant of Lachish, tie the chariot to the stallion; she is the beginning of sin to the daughter of Zion, for the transgressions of Israel were found in you.

¹⁰ For who has despised the day of small things? For they shall rejoice and shall see the plummet stone in the hand of Zerubbabel. These seven are the eyes of Jehovah; they run to and fro through all the earth.

⁵⁴ And He also said to the crowd, When you see the cloud rising up from the west, you immediately say, A storm is coming; and it happens so.

⁸ and went in after the man of Israel, into the tent room. And he pierced both of them through, the man of Israel and the woman, through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the sons of Israel.

¹⁶ And the sons of Joseph said, The hills will not be found for us. And every Canaanite who lives in the land of the valley has a chariot of iron, those that are of Beth-shean and its daughter-villages, and of him who is in the valley of Jezreel.

¹⁸ And their border was toward Jezreel, and Chesulloth, and Shunem,

⁹ And he caused him to reign over Gilead, and over the Ashurites, and over Jezreel, and over Ephraim, and over Benjamin, and over all Israel.

¹⁴ And they buried the bones of Saul and of his son Jonathan in the land of Benjamin, in Zelah, in the burying place of his father Kish, and did all that the king had commanded. And afterward God heard prayer for the land.

¹ And it happened after these things, Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard in Jezreel, near the palace of Ahab the king of Samaria.

²³ And also Jehovah has spoken of Jezebel, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.

¹⁶ And Jehu rode and went to Jezreel, for Jehoram lay there. And Ahaziah the king of Judah had gone down to see Jehoram.

¹⁵ And now, bring a minstrel to me. And it happened when the minstrel played, the hand of Jehovah was on him.

²⁹ And he said to Gehazi, Gird up your loins and take my staff in your hand, and go. When you meet a man, you shall not greet him. And when a man shall greet you, you shall not answer him. And you shall lay my staff on the face of the boy.

¹ And Elisha the prophet called to one of the sons of the prophets and said to him, Gird up your loins and take this vial of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead.

³ Now gird up your loins like a man, for I will question you; and you teach Me.

¹¹ For so Jehovah spoke to me with a strong hand, and taught me against walking in the way of this people, saying,

¹⁷ And you must gird up your loins, and rise up and speak to them all that I command you. Do not be terrified before their faces, that I not prostrate you before them.

³ the word of Jehovah surely became known to Ezekiel, the son of Buzi, the priest, in the land of the Chaldeans, by the river Chebar. And there the hand of Jehovah was on him.

¹⁴ So the Spirit lifted me up and took me, and I went bitterly in the heat of my spirit, but the hand of Jehovah was strong upon me.

²¹ They said to Him, Caesar's. Then He said to them, Then give to Caesar the things of Caesar, and to God the things of God.

¹⁴ Then stand firm, "having girded your loins about with truth" and having put "on the breastplate of righteousness," Isa. 11:5; 59:17

¹³ Because of this, having girded up the loins of your mind, being sober, perfectly hope on the grace being brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

¹⁷ honor all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.
