³ Then were gathered the satraps, the prefects, the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the judges, the justices, and all the officials of the provinces, to the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. And they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

¹ A Psalm of Asaph God stands in the assembly of God; He judges in the midst of the gods. ² Until when will you judge unjustly, and lift up the faces of the wicked? Selah. ³ Judge the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy. ⁴ Deliver the poor and needy; save out of the hand of the wicked. ⁵ They neither know nor will understand; they walk in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. ⁶ I have said, You are gods, and all of you are sons of the Most High. ⁷ But you shall die as men, and fall like one of the rulers. ⁸ Rise, O God, judge the earth; for You shall inherit in all the nations.

³⁴ But knowing that he is a Jew, one voice was from all, as they were crying out over two hours, Great is Artemis of the Ephesians! ³⁵ And quieting the crowd, the town clerk said, Men, Ephesians, for what man is there who does not know the city of the Ephesians to be temple keepers of the great goddess Artemis, and of That Fallen From the Sky?

²¹ Because knowing God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful. But they became vain in their reasonings, and their undiscerning heart was darkened. ²² Professing to be wise, they became foolish ²³ and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into a likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things. ²⁴ Because of this, God gave them up to impurity in the lusts of their hearts, their bodies to be dishonored among themselves, ²⁵ who changed the truth of God into the lie, and worshiped and served the created thing more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. ²⁶ Because of this, God gave them up to dishonorable passions, for even their females changed the natural use to that contrary to nature. ²⁷ And likewise, the males also forsaking the natural use of the female burned in their lust toward one another, males with males working out shamefulness, and receiving back within themselves the reward which was fitting for their error. ²⁸ And even as they did not think fit to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do the things not right,

¹¹ There is none that understands, there is "not one that seeks after God.

²⁴ but to the called-out ones, both to Jews and to Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God; ²⁵ because the foolish thing of God is wiser than men, and the weak thing of God is stronger than men. ²⁶ For you see your calling, brothers, that there are not many wise according to flesh, nor many powerful, not many wellborn.

¹³ And it does great signs, that even fire it causes to come down out of the heaven onto the earth before men. ¹⁴ And it deceives those dwelling on the earth, because of the signs which were given to it to do before the beast, saying to those dwelling on the earth to make an image to the beast who has the wound of the sword, and lived. ¹⁵ And was given to it to give a spirit to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak, and might cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. ¹⁶ And the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the freemen and the slaves, it causes that they give to them all a mark on their right hand, or on their foreheads,

¹³ These have one mind, and their power and authority they shall give up to the beast.

¹⁷ For God gave into their hearts to do His mind, and to act in one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
