⁵ It is not for your righteousness or for the uprightness of your heart that you go to possess their land. But Jehovah your God is expelling them from before you because of the wickedness of these nations; and in order to establish the word which Jehovah has sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

⁷ And Jehovah appeared to Abram and said I will give this land to your seed. And he built an altar there to Jehovah, who appeared to him.

¹⁵ For all the land which you see I will give to you, and to your seed forever.

⁷ And He said to him, I am Jehovah who caused you to come out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land to inherit it.

⁸ And I will give to you and to your seed after you the land of your sojourning, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession and I will be their God.

⁴ And I will increase your seed like the stars of the heavens, and I will give to your seed all these lands. And all the nations of the earth shall bless themselves in your seed,

¹³ And, behold, Jehovah stood above it and said, I am Jehovah the God of your father Abraham, and the God of Isaac; the land on which you are lying, I will give it to you and to your seed.

¹³ Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants to whom You swore by Yourself, and You spoke to them, I will multiply your seed like the stars of the heavens, and all this land which I have said, I will give to your seed. And they shall possess it forever.

¹⁴ But I worked for My name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the eyes of the nations, before whom I brought them out, in their eyes.

²⁰ You will give faithfulness to Jacob, kindness to Abraham, which You have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

⁵⁴ He helped His servant Israel in order to remember mercy, ⁵⁵ even as He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed forever.

²⁵ You are sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God appointed to our fathers, saying to Abraham, "Even in your Seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed." Gen. 22:18

³² And we preach the gospel to you, the promise made to the fathers, ³³ that this God has fulfilled to us, their children, raising up Jesus; as also it has been written in the second Psalm, "You are My Son, today I have begotten You." Psa. 2:7

²⁸ Indeed, as regards the gospel, enemies for you, but as regards the election, beloved for the sake of the fathers.

⁸ And I say, Jesus Christ has become a minister of circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises of the fathers,

⁵ not by works in righteousness which we had done, but according to His mercy, He saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,
