¹⁶ Therefore, say, So says the Lord Jehovah: Though I have sent them far off among the nations, and though I scattered them among the lands, yet I was to them as a little sanctuary in the countries there where they had gone.

⁴⁴ And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, nor will I hate them, to consume them, to break My covenant with them; for I am Jehovah their God.

³ then Jehovah your God will turn your captivity, and He will have pity on you, and will return and gather you from all the nations where Jehovah your God has scattered you. ⁴ If you are cast out to the end of the heavens, Jehovah your God shall gather you from there, and He shall take you from there.

¹² And Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he and his mother, and his servants, and his leaders, and his eunuchs. And the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign. ¹³ And he brought out from there all the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the house of the king, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold that Solomon the king of Israel had made in the temple of Jehovah, as Jehovah had spoken. ¹⁴ And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the leaders, and all the mighty men of valor, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and the smiths; none remained except the poorest sort of the people of the land. ¹⁵ And he exiled Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his eunuchs, and the mighty ones of the land; he caused a captivity to go from Jerusalem to Babylon. ¹⁶ And all the men of valor were seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths a thousand; all were mighty men, warriors; and the king of Babylon brought them in a captivity to Babylon.

²⁰ In the secrecy of Your presence You shall hide them from man's plots; You shall cover them in a booth, from the strife of tongues.

¹¹ You have given us like sheep for food and have scattered us among the nations.

¹ A Prayer of Moses, the Man of God. O Lord, You have been our dwelling-place in all generations.

¹ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide in the shade of the Almighty.

⁹ Because You, O Jehovah, are My refuge; if you make the Most High your habitation, ¹⁰ no evil shall happen to You, nor shall any plague come near Your tent. ¹¹ For He shall give His angels charge over You, to keep You in all Your ways. ¹² They shall bear You up in their hands, that You not dash Your foot on a stone. ¹³ You shall tread on the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent You shall trample under foot. ¹⁴ Because he has set his love on Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set Him on high because He has known My name. ¹⁵ He shall call on Me and I will answer Him; I will be with Him in distress; I will rescue Him and honor Him. ¹⁶ I will satisfy him with length of days and will make him see My salvation.

¹⁰ The name of Jehovah is a tower of strength, the righteous runs into it and is set on high.

⁵ Then Jehovah will create a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night, over all the site of Mount Zion, and over her assemblies; for on all the glory will be a canopy.

¹⁴ And He shall be for a sanctuary, and for a stone of stumbling, and for a rock of falling to the two houses of Israel; for a trap and for a snare to the dweller of Jerusalem.

⁵ So says Jehovah, the God of Israel, Like these good figs, so I will acknowledge the exiles of Judah whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for good. ⁶ For I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them again to this land. And I will build them and not tear down; and I will plant them, and will not pluck up.

⁷ And the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of Jehovah.

¹¹ And the priests and the prophets spoke to the rulers, and to all the people, saying, Let a death sentence be for this man, for he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your ears.

¹¹ For I am with you, says Jehovah, to save you. Though I make a full end among all nations where I have scattered you, yet I will not make a full end with you. But I will correct you justly, and I will not leave you unpunished.

¹⁰ Hear the word of Jehovah, O nations, and declare in the coastlands far away, and say, He who scattered Israel will gather him and keep him, as a shepherd his flock.

¹¹ Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom you are afraid. Do not be afraid of his face, declares Jehovah, for I am with you to save you and to deliver you from his hand.
