¹² Heap on me ever so much bride-price and gift, and I will give as you say to me; but give me the girl for a wife.

⁵³ And the slave brought out vessels of silver and vessels of gold and garments, and he gave to Rebekah. And he gave precious things to her brother and to her mother.

¹⁸ And Jacob loved Rachel, and said, I will serve you seven years for Rachel, your younger daughter.

⁴¹ Now I have been twenty years in your house; I served you fourteen years for your two daughters and six years for your flock. And you have changed my wages ten times.

¹⁶ And when a man lures a virgin who is not betrothed, and lies with her, he shall surely pay her dowry for a wife to himself. ¹⁷ If her father absolutely refuses to give her to him, he shall weigh money according to the dowry of virgins.

²⁸ If a man finds a virgin girl, not being betrothed, and seizes her and lies with her, and they be found; ²⁹ then the man lying with her shall give to the girl's father fifty pieces of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has humbled her. He may not put her away all his days.

²⁵ And Saul said, So you shall say to David, There is no delight to the king in dowry, but in a hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged on the king's enemies. And Saul thought to cause David to fall by the hand of the Philistines. ²⁶ And his servants told David these words. And the thing was right in David's eyes, to be son-in-law to the king. And the days had not been fulfilled. ²⁷ And David rose up and went out, he and his men. And they struck two hundred men of the Philistines. And David brought their foreskins, and he gave them in full to the king, in order to be son-in-law to the king. And Saul gave him his daughter Michal for a wife.

¹⁴ And David sent messengers to Ishbosheth the son of Saul, saying, Give up my wife Michal, whom I betrothed to myself with a hundred foreskins of the Philistines.

² So I bought her for myself with fifteen pieces of silver, and for a homer of barley, and a half of barley.

¹⁷ But they said to Him, We have nothing here except five loaves and two fish.
