³ Reuben, you are my first born, my strength and the firstfruit of my power; excellence of dignity and excellence of might.

³² And Leah conceived and bore a son. And she called his name Reuben; for she said, Surely Jehovah has looked on my affliction, for now my husband will love me.

⁸ And these were the names of the sons of Israel, those coming into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: the first born of Jacob was Reuben.

⁵¹ And he struck all the first-born in Egypt, the firstfruits of strength in the tents of Ham;
