⁷ O Jehovah, You have deceived me; yea, I was deceived. You are stronger than I, and You have prevailed. I am in derision all the day; everyone laughs at me.

²² And Moses returned to Jehovah and said, Lord, why have You done evil to this people? Why then have You sent me? ²³ And since I came in to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people. And You did not certainly deliver your people.

¹¹ And Moses said to Jehovah, Why have You done evil to Your servant; and why have I not found grace in Your eyes to put the burden of all this people on me? ¹² I, have I conceived all this people? I, have I begotten it, that You say to me, Carry it in your bosom as the foster father bears the suckling, to the land which You have sworn to its fathers? ¹³ Where shall I get flesh to give to all this people? For they weep to me, saying, Give to us flesh that we may eat. ¹⁴ I am not able, I alone, to bear all this people, for it is too heavy for me; ¹⁵ and if You deal thus with me, please quickly kill me, if I have found grace in Your eyes, and let me not look on my affliction.

²³ And he went up from there to Bethel. And he was going up in the highway. And little boys came out from the city and mocked him, and said to him, Go up, bald head! Go up, bald head!

⁶ But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of mankind, and despised by the people. ⁷ All who see Me scornfully laugh at me; they open the lip; they shake the head, saying,

¹⁵ But they rejoiced in my stumbling, and assembled; the defamers assembled themselves against me, and I knew not; they tore and were not silent, ¹⁶ with the ungodly, mockers for a cake, gnashing their teeth on me.

⁹ For the zeal of Your house has consumed Me; and the reproaches of the ones who reproach You have fallen on Me. ¹⁰ When I humbled my soul with fasting, it also was to my reproach; ¹¹ I also made sackcloth my clothing, and I became a mockery to them. ¹² They who sit in the gate spoke of me; and I was the song of drunkards.

⁶ Then I said, Ah, Lord Jehovah! Behold, I do not know how to speak for I am a boy. ⁷ But Jehovah said to me, Do not say, I am a boy; for you shall go to all that I shall send you. And whatever I command you, you shall speak. ⁸ Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you, says Jehovah.

¹⁸ For, behold, today I have made you a fortified city, and an iron pillar, and bronze walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against her princes, against her priests, and to the people of the land. ¹⁹ And they shall fight against you; but they shall not overcome you. For I am with you to deliver you, declares Jehovah.

¹⁰ Woe to me, my mother, that you have borne me, a man of strife, and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have not loaned, nor have they loaned to me; yet everyone curses me.

¹⁸ Why has my pain been without end and my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? You surely are to me like deceitful waters which cannot be trusted.

¹⁶ And I have not hurried away from shepherding after You, nor have I desired the woeful day. You surely know that the utterance of my lips was before Your face.

⁹ And I said, I will not mention Him or speak any more in His name. But His Word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary of holding in, and I could not prevail.

²⁶ Jehovah has made you priest instead of Jehoiada the priest, to be officers in the house of Jehovah, over every raving man who prophesies, that you should put him into the stocks and into the torture collar.

¹⁴ I was a mockery to all my people, their song all the day.

¹⁴ So the Spirit lifted me up and took me, and I went bitterly in the heat of my spirit, but the hand of Jehovah was strong upon me.

⁷ The days of her visitation have come; the days of retribution have come. Israel shall know. The prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is insane, because of the greatness of your iniquity and your great hatred

⁸ But by the Spirit of Jehovah I am full of power and justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression, and his sin to Israel.

¹⁴ And being lovers of money, the Pharisees also heard all these things; and they derided Him.

⁶³ And the men who were holding Jesus mocked Him, beating Him . ⁶⁴ And blindfolding Him, they were striking His face and questioning Him, saying, Prophesy, who is the one stinging you?

¹¹ And having humiliated Him with his soldiery, and mocking Him by putting around Him luxurious clothing, Herod sent Him back to Pilate.

³⁵ And the people stood watching. And the rulers with them also scoffed, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if this one is the Christ, the elect of God. ³⁶ And coming near, the soldiers also mocked Him and were offering vinegar to Him,

¹⁸ And some of the Epicureans and of the Stoics, philosophers, fell in with him. And some said, What may this chatterer wish to say? And these others, He seems to be an announcer of foreign demons (because he announced Jesus and the resurrection to them).

³² And hearing of a resurrection of the dead, some indeed ridiculed, but said, We will hear you again concerning this.

⁹ For I think that God set us out last, the apostles, as appointed to death, because we became a spectacle to the world, even to angels and to men. ¹⁰ We are fools for the sake of Christ, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are honored, but we not honored. ¹¹ Until the present hour we also hunger and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and wander homeless, ¹² and labor, working with our own hands. Being cursed, we bless; persecuted, we bear; ¹³ defamed, we entreat. we have become as filth of the world, dirt wiped off by all until now.

⁶ Or is it only Barnabas and I who have no authority to quit work?

³⁶ And others received trial of mockings and of floggings; yea, more, of bonds and of prison:
