³ Let the day perish in which I was born, and the night which said, A man-child has been conceived.

¹⁸ Why then did You bring me from the womb? I would have died, and no eye seen me. ¹⁹ I would have been as though I had never been, carried from the womb to the grave.

¹⁰ Woe to me, my mother, that you have borne me, a man of strife, and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have not loaned, nor have they loaned to me; yet everyone curses me.

¹⁴ Cursed is the day in which I was born; let not the day in which my mother bore me be blessed. ¹⁵ Cursed is the man who brought news to my father, saying, A man child is born to you, making him very glad. ¹⁶ And let that man be as the cities which Jehovah overthrew and did not repent. And let him hear a cry in the morning and the shouting at noontime; ¹⁷ because he did not kill me from the womb; and that my mother would have been my grave, and her womb always great with me . ¹⁸ Why did I come forth from the womb to see toil and sorrow, and my days consumed in shame?
