²⁷ And Joshua said to all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness against us, for it has heard all the sayings of Jehovah which He has spoken with us. And it shall be against you for a witness, that you not lie against your God.

⁴⁴ And now come, let us cut a covenant, you and me; and let it be a witness between you and me. ⁴⁵ And Jacob took a stone and set it up as a memorial. ⁴⁶ And Jacob said to his brothers, Gather stones. And they took stones and they made a memorial pillar. ⁴⁷ And Laban called it, Heap of the Testimony. And Jacob called it in Hebrew, Heap of Testimony. ⁴⁸ And Laban said, This heap is a witness between you and me today; so he called its name Heap of Testimony; ⁴⁹ also, Watchtower; for he said, May Jehovah watch between you and me, for we are hidden, when we are out of sight, each from his neighbor. ⁵⁰ If you will not afflict my daughters, and if you will take wives above my daughters, no man is with us. Behold! God is a witness between you and me. ⁵¹ And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold the pillar which I have set between you and me. ⁵² This heap is a witness, and the pillar is a witness. As for me, I will not pass over this heap to you; and as for you, you will not pass over this heap and this pillar for evil to me.

²⁶ I call the heavens and the earth to witness against you today that you shall soon utterly perish from off the land to which you go over the Jordan to possess it; you shall not prolong your days on it, but shall utterly be destroyed.

¹⁹ I call Heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore, choose life, that you may live, you and your seed,

¹⁹ Now, then, write this song for you, and teach it to the sons of Israel. Put it in their mouths, so that this song shall be for a witness to Me against the sons of Israel.

²¹ And it shall be, when many evils and distresses have found them, this song shall testify against them as a witness. For it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed. For I know their imagination which they are making today, before I bring them into the land which I have sworn.

²⁶ Take this book of the law, and you shall put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your God, so that it may be there for a witness against you.

²⁷ but it shall be a witness between us and you, and between our generations after us, to do the service of Jehovah before Him with our burnt offerings, and with our sacrifices and with our peace offerings; that your sons may not say to our sons in the future, You have no portion in Jehovah. ²⁸ And we said, And it shall be, when they say this to us, and to our generations hereafter, that we shall say, See the pattern of the altar of Jehovah, which our fathers made, not for burnt offering or for sacrifice, but it is a witness between us and you.

³⁴ And the sons of Reuben, and the sons of Gad proclaimed regarding the altar, that it was a witness between us that Jehovah is God.

¹² And Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, Jehovah has helped us until now.

²³ for trouble from God is a terror to me, and I could not do the thing because of His majesty.

⁹ that I not become full and deceive, and say, Who is Jehovah? Or that I not become poor and steal, and violate the name of my God.

² Hear, O heavens, and listen, O earth! For Jehovah has spoken: I have nursed and brought up sons, but they have rebelled against Me.

¹¹ For the stone shall cry out from the wall, and the beam shall answer it from the wood.

³³ But whoever denies Me before men, I also will deny him before My Father in Heaven.

⁴⁰ And answering, He said to them, I say to you, If these should be silent, the stones will cry out.

¹² if we endure, we shall also reign with Him; if we deny Him, that One will deny us; ¹³ if we are unfaithful, that One remains faithful; He is not able to deny Himself.

¹⁶ They profess to know God, but by their works they deny Him, being abominable and disobedient, and worthless to every good work.

⁸ I know your works. Behold, I have given a door being opened before you, and no one is able to shut it, for you have a little power and have kept My word, and have not denied My name.
