²⁸ But He said, No; rather, blessed are those hearing the Word of God, and keeping it.

¹ Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, and has not stood in the way of sinners and has not sat in the seat of scorners. ² But his delight is only in the law of Jehovah, and he meditates in His law day and night. ³ And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivulets of waters, which will give its fruit in its seasons, and its leaf will not wither, and all which he does will prosper.

¹ Praise Jehovah! Blessed is the man who fears Jehovah, delighting greatly in His commands.

¹ Aleph Blessed are the upright in the way, who walk in the law of Jehovah. ² Blessed are those keeping His testimonies, who seek Him with the whole heart. ³ They also do not work evil; they walk in His way. ⁴ You have commanded to carefully keep Your precepts. ⁵ O that my ways were fixed to keep Your statutes! ⁶ Then I shall not be ashamed, when I look to all Your commands.

¹ A Song of Ascents. Blessed is everyone who fears Jehovah, who walks in His ways.

¹⁷ So says Jehovah, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, I am Jehovah your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go. ¹⁸ Oh that you had listened to My commands! Then your peace would have been like the river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

²¹ Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of Heaven, but the ones who do the will of My Father in Heaven. ²² Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many works of power? ²³ And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; "depart from Me, those working lawlessness!" Psa. 6:8 ²⁴ Then everyone who hears these words from Me, and does them, I will compare him to a wise man who built his house on the rock; ²⁵ and the rains came down, and the rivers came up, and the winds blew, and fell against that house; but it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.

⁴⁸ But answering, He said to the one speaking to Him, Who is My mother? And who are My brothers? ⁴⁹ And stretching out His hand to His disciples, He said, Behold, My mother and My brothers. ⁵⁰ For whoever shall do the will of My Father in Heaven, that one is My brother and sister and mother.

⁴⁷ Everyone coming to Me and hearing My words, and doing them, I will show you to whom he is like: ⁴⁸ He is like a man building a house, who dug and deepened, and laid a foundation on the rock. And a flood having occurred, the stream burst against that house and could not shake it, for it had been founded on the rock.

²¹ And answering, He said to them, My mother and My brothers are these: the ones hearing the Word of God, and doing it.

¹⁷ If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

²¹ On account of this, having put aside all filthiness and overflowing of evil, in meekness receive the implanted Word being able to save your souls. ²² But become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. ²³ Because if anyone is a hearer of the Word, and not a doer, this one is like a man studying his natural face in a mirror; ²⁴ for he studied himself, and has gone away, and immediately he forgot of what kind he was. ²⁵ But the one looking into the perfect law of liberty, and continuing in it, this one not having become a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in his doing.

²¹ Beloved, if our heart does not accuse us, we have confidence with God. ²² And whatever we ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments, and we do the things pleasing before Him. ²³ And this is His commandment, that we should believe the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as He gave command to us. ²⁴ And the one keeping His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit which He gave to us.

¹⁴ Blessed are the ones doing His commands, that their authority will be over the Tree of Life, and by the gates they may enter into the city.
