¹ And in the fifteenth year of the government of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate governing Judea, and Herod ruling as tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip ruling as tetrarch of Iturea and the Trachonitis country, and Lysanias ruling as tetrarch of Abilene, ² upon the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came on John the son of Zacharias in the desert. ³ And he came into the neighborhood of the Jordan proclaiming a baptism of repentance for remission of sins, ⁴ as it has been written in the roll of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying: " the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight. ⁵ every valley shall be filled up, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the crooked places shall be made into straight, and the rough into smooth ways;" ⁶ "and all flesh shall see the salvation of God." Isa. 40:35 ⁷ Then he said to the crowds going out to be baptized by him, Offspring of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? ⁸ Then bring forth fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say within yourselves, We have Abraham as father. For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham out of these stones. ⁹ And also the axe is already laid to the root of the trees; therefore, every tree not producing good fruit is being cut down and being thrown into the fire. ¹⁰ And the crowd asked him, saying, What then shall we do? ¹¹ And answering, he said to them, The one that has two tunics, let him give to him that has not. And the one that has foods, let him do the same. ¹² And tax collectors also came to be baptized. And they said to him, Teacher, what shall we do? ¹³ And he said to them, Continue to do no more than that commanded to you. ¹⁴ And also ones serving as soldiers asked him, saying, And we, what shall we do? And he said to them, Do not shake violently anyone nor accuse falsely, and be satisfied with your pay. ¹⁵ But the people were expecting, and all reasoning in their hearts about John, lest perhaps he is the Christ, ¹⁶ John answered all, saying, I indeed baptize you with water; but He stronger than I comes, of whom I am not fit to loosen the thong of His sandals. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire, ¹⁷ whose sifting fan is in His hand; and He will fully purge His threshing-floor, and will gather the wheat into His barn, but He will burn: the chaff with fire that cannot be put out. ¹⁸ And then indeed exhorting many different things, he preached the gospel to the people. ¹⁹ But Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him concerning his brother Philip's wife, Herodias, and concerning all the evil things Herod did, ²⁰ he also added this above all, he even shut up John in the prison. ²¹ And it happened, in the baptizing of all the people, Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened; ²² and the Holy Spirit came down in a bodily form as a dove upon Him. And there was a voice out of Heaven, saying, You are My Son, the Beloved; I am delighted in You. ¹⁰ The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the lawmaker from between his feet, until Shiloh come, and the obedience of the peoples to him.

¹ At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the fame of Jesus.

³ For seizing John, Herod bound him and put him into prison, because of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip.

² And binding Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

¹⁷ For having sent, Herod himself had seized John and bound him in the prison, because of Herodias the wife of his brother Philip, because he had married her.

¹ And it happened in those days, a decree went out from Caesar Augustus for all the habitable world to be registered.

¹⁹ But Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him concerning his brother Philip's wife, Herodias, and concerning all the evil things Herod did,

⁷ And Herod the tetrarch heard all the things happening by Him, and was puzzled, because of the saying by some that John had been raised from the dead,

¹ And rising up, all the multitude of them led Him before Pilate. ² And they began to accuse Him, saying, We found this one perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying himself to be a king, Christ. ³ And Pilate questioned Him, saying, Are you the king of the Jews? And answering, him, He said, You say it . ⁴ And Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, I find nothing blameable in this man.

⁶ And hearing Galilee, Pilate asked if the man is a Galilean. ⁷ And knowing that He is from Herod's jurisdiction, he sent Him up to Herod, he also being in Jerusalem in these days. ⁸ And seeing Jesus, Herod greatly rejoiced, for he was wishing to see Him for a long time, because of hearing many things about Him. And he hoped to see some miracle being brought about by Him. ⁹ And he questioned Him in many words. But He answered him not a thing. ¹⁰ And the chief priests and the scribes stood fiercely accusing Him. ¹¹ And having humiliated Him with his soldiery, and mocking Him by putting around Him luxurious clothing, Herod sent Him back to Pilate.

²⁴ And Pilate adjudged their request to be done.

²⁷ For truly both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the nations and the peoples of Israel, were gathered together against Your holy child Jesus, whom You anointed,

²⁶ Claudius Lysias to the most excellent governor, Felix, greeting:

²⁷ But two years being completed, Felix welcomed a successor, Porcius Festus. And wishing to show a favor to the Jews, Felix left Paul bound.

³⁰ And he saying these things, the king and the governor and Bernice rose up, and those who sat with them.

³ The voice of him who cries in the wilderness: Prepare the way of Jehovah; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

² to whom the word of Jehovah came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.

¹ And was the word of Jehovah to me, saying,

³ the word of Jehovah surely became known to Ezekiel, the son of Buzi, the priest, in the land of the Chaldeans, by the river Chebar. And there the hand of Jehovah was on him.

¹ The word of Jehovah that was to Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, the son of Joash, king of Israel. ² The beginning of the speaking of Jehovah by Hosea. And Jehovah said to Hosea, Go, take to yourself a wife of harlotry, and children of harlotry. For the land has utterly gone lusting away from Jehovah.

¹ The word of Jehovah that was to Micah of Moresheth in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw on Samaria and Jerusalem:

¹ Now in those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, ² and saying, Repent! For the kingdom of Heaven has drawn near. ³ For this is he spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord! Make His paths straight!" Isa. 40:3 ⁴ And John himself had his clothing from hairs of a camel, and a belt of leather about his loin. And his food was locusts and wild honey. ⁵ Then Jerusalem and all Judea went out to him, and all the neighborhood of the Jordan, ⁶ and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins. ⁷ But seeing many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, Offspring of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? ⁸ Therefore, bring forth fruits worthy of repentance. ⁹ And do not think to say within yourselves, We have a father, Abraham. For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. ¹⁰ But already the axe is even laid at the root of the trees; therefore, any tree not bringing forth good fruit is cut down and is thrown into fire.

⁷ But as these were going, Jesus began to say to the crowds about John, What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed being shaken with the wind?

³ Then the chief priests and the scribes and the elders of the people were assembled to the court of the high priest, the one named Caiaphas.

³ the voice of one crying in the wilderness. Prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight." Mal. 3:1; Isa. 40:3 ⁴ John came baptizing in the wilderness and proclaiming a baptism of repentance for remission of sins. ⁵ And all the Judean country and those of Jerusalem went out to him, and were all baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.

⁵⁹ And it happened on the eighth day, they came to circumcise the child and were calling it by his father's name, Zacharias. ⁶⁰ And his mother answered, saying, Not so, but he shall be called John. ⁶¹ And they said to her, No one is among your kindred who is called by this name. ⁶² And they signaled to his father, what he might desire him to be called. ⁶³ And asking for a writing tablet, he wrote, saying, John is his name. And all marveled.

⁸⁰ And the child grew, and became strong in spirit. And he was in the deserts until the day of his showing to Israel.

²³ He said, "I am a voice crying in the wilderness:" "Make straight" "the way of the Lord," as Isaiah the prophet said. Isa. 40:3

⁴⁹ But a certain one of them, Caiaphas being high priest of that year, said to them, You know nothing, ⁵⁰ nor consider that it is profitable for us that one man die for the people, and not all the nation to perish. ⁵¹ But he did not say this from himself, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was about to die on behalf of the nation,

¹³ And they led Him away first to Annas, for he was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was high priest of that year. ¹⁴ And Caiaphas was the one who had given counsel to the Jews that it was advantageous for one man to perish for the people.

²⁴ Then having bound Him, Annas sent Him forth to Caiaphas the high priest.

⁶ also Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the high priestly family.

⁵ Then Jerusalem and all Judea went out to him, and all the neighborhood of the Jordan, ⁶ and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.

¹¹ I indeed baptize you in water to repentance; but He who is coming after me is stronger than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire,

⁷⁷ to give a knowledge of salvation to His people by remission of their sins,

²⁸ These things took place in Bethabara beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

³¹ And I did not know Him; but that He be revealed to Israel, for this reason I came baptizing in water. ³² And John witnessed, saying, I have seen the Spirit coming down as a dove out of Heaven, and He abode on Him. ³³ And I did not know Him, but the One sending me to baptize in water, that One said to me, On whomever you see the Spirit coming down and abiding on Him, this is the One baptizing in the Holy Spirit.

²⁶ And they came to John and said to him, Teacher, the one who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have witnessed, behold, this one baptizes, and all are coming to Him.

²⁴ John going before to proclaim before the face of His entrance a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

⁴ And Paul said, John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe into the One coming after him, that is, into the Christ, Jesus.

¹⁶ And now what do you intend? Rising up, be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

³ The voice of him who cries in the wilderness: Prepare the way of Jehovah; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. ⁴ Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the knoll shall be a level place, and the rough places a plain. ⁵ And the glory of Jehovah shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of Jehovah has spoken.

¹⁴ And he shall say, Raise up! Raise up! Clear the way! Make the stumbling block rise from the way of My people.

¹⁰ Pass! Pass through the gates; prepare the way of the people! Raise up! Raise up the highway; clear it from stones; lift up a banner over the peoples.

⁶ And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the sons, and the heart of the sons to their fathers, that I not come and strike the earth with utter destruction. END OF THE OLD TESTAMENT

¹⁶ And he will turn many of the sons of Israel to the Lord their God. ¹⁷ And he will go out before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah "to turn the hearts of fathers to their children," and disobedient ones to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people having been prepared for the Lord. Mal. 4:5, 6

⁷⁶ And you, child, will be called Prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways, Mal. 3:1 ⁷⁷ to give a knowledge of salvation to His people by remission of their sins, ⁷⁸ through the tender bowels of mercy of our God, in which the Dayspring from on high will visit us, ⁷⁹ to appear to those sitting in darkness and in shadow of death, to direct our feet into the way of peace. ⁷ He came for a witness, that he might witness concerning the Light, that all might believe through Him.

²⁶ John answered them, saying, I baptize in water, but One stands in your midst whom you do not know; ²⁷ This One it is who has come after me, who has been before me, of whom I am not worthy that I should loose the thong of His sandal. ²⁸ These things took place in Bethabara beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing. ²⁹ On the morrow, John sees Jesus coming toward him and said, Behold! ²⁸ You yourselves witness to me that I said, I am not the Christ, but that having been sent, I am going before that One. ²⁹ The one having the bride is the bridegroom. But the friend of the bridegroom, standing and hearing him, rejoices with joy because of the bridegroom's voice. Then this my joy has been fulfilled. ³⁰ That One must increase, but I must decrease. ³¹ The One coming from above is above all. The one being of the earth is earthy, and speaks of the earth. The One coming out of Heaven is above all. ³² And what He has seen and heard, this He testifies, and no one receives His testimony. ³³ The one receiving His testimony has sealed that God is true. ³⁴ For the One whom God sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure. ³⁵ The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand. ³⁶ The one believing into the Son has everlasting life; but the one disobeying the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

¹¹ The lofty eyes of man shall be humbled, and the pride of men shall be bowed down; but Jehovah, He alone, will be exalted in that day. ¹² For the day of Jehovah of Hosts shall be on all the proud and lofty ones, and on all that is lifted up; and it will be abased; ¹³ and against all Lebanon's cedars, high and lifted up; and against all the oaks of Bashan; ¹⁴ and against all the high mountains; and against all the lifted up hills; ¹⁵ and against every tall tower; and against every fortified wall; ¹⁶ and against all the ships of Tarshish; and on all pleasurable craft. ¹⁷ And the pride of man shall be humbled; and the loftiness of men shall be abased; and Jehovah alone will be exalted in that day.

⁶ Then the lame shall leap like a deer, and the tongue of the dumb shall sing. For waters shall break out in the wilderness, and streams in the desert. ⁷ And the mirage shall become a pool, and the thirsty land shall become springs of waters, in the home of jackals, in its lair, and a place for the reed and rush. ⁸ And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called, The Way of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it. And it is for them, the wayfaring one; yea, fools shall not go astray.

⁴ Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the knoll shall be a level place, and the rough places a plain.

¹⁶ And I will lead the blind by a way they knew not; I will lead them in paths they never knew; I will make darkness into light before them, and crooked places a level place. I do these things to them and do not forsake them;

² I will go before you and make hills level; I will tear apart the bronze doors, and cut the iron bars in two.

¹¹ And I will make all My mountains a way, and My highways shall be set on high.

¹ The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is on Me, because Jehovah has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the meek. He has sent Me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to captives, and complete opening to the bound ones; ² to proclaim the acceptable year of Jehovah, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; ³ to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of the spirit of infirmity, so that one calls them trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, in order to beautify Himself.

²⁴ And all the trees of the field shall know that I, Jehovah, have brought down the high tree. and have exalted the low tree, and have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree flourish. I, Jehovah, have spoken and acted.

⁵¹ He performed mightily with His arm; He scattered proud ones in the thought of their heart. ⁵² He put down powerful ones from thrones, and exalted lowly ones. ⁵³ He filled the hungry with good things, and He sent the rich away empty.

¹² Because of this, "straighten the hands" hanging alongside, "and the enfeebled knees;" ¹³ "and make straight tracks for your feet," that the lame not be turned aside, but rather healed. Isa. 35:3; Prov. 4:26

⁹ But let the lowly brother rejoice in his lifting up;

² Jehovah has revealed His salvation; He unveiled His righteousness to the eyes of the nations. ³ He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

⁵ And the glory of Jehovah shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of Jehovah has spoken.

⁶ And He said, It is too little that You should be My servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You for a light of the nations, that You may be My salvation to the end of the earth.

¹⁰ Jehovah has bared His holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

¹⁵ And He said to them, Going into all the world, preach the gospel to all the creation.

¹⁰ And the angel said to them, Do not fear. For, behold, I announce good news to you, a great joy, which will be to all people, ¹¹ because today a Savior, who is Christ the Lord, was born to you in the city of David.

³⁰ because my eyes saw Your Salvation, ³¹ which You prepared before the face of all the peoples; ³² a Light for revelation to the nations, and the Glory of Your people Israel.

¹² For there is no difference both of Jew and of Greek, for the same Lord of all is rich toward all the ones calling on Him.

¹⁸ But I say, Did they not hear? Yes, rather, "into all the earth their voice went out, and to the ends of the world their words." LXX-Psa. 18:5; MT-Psa. 19:4

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He will bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.

⁴ Their poison is like the poison of a snake; like the deaf adder, he stops his ear, ⁵ which will not hear the charmer's voice, skillful caster of spells.

⁵ They hatch adders' eggs, and weave the spider's web; he who eats their eggs dies; and that which is crushed hatches out a viper.

³⁴ Offspring of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

³³ Serpents! Offspring of vipers! How shall you escape the judgment of Hell?

⁴⁴ You are of the Devil as father, and the lusts of your father you desire to do. That one was a murderer from the beginning, and he has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own, because he is a liar, and the father of it.

¹⁰ he said, O son of the Devil, full of all guile and of all cunning, enemy of all righteousness, will you not stop perverting the right ways of the Lord?

¹⁰ and to await His Son from Heaven, whom He raised from the dead, Jesus, the One delivering us from the wrath to come.

¹⁸ that through two unchangeable things, in which it was not possible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, those having fled to lay hold on the hope set before us,

⁸ The one practicing sin is of the Devil, because the Devil sins from the beginning. For this the Son of God was revealed, that He undo the works of the Devil.

³ And charge them, saying, Take twelve stones from this place, from the middle of the Jordan, from the place where the feet of the priests were fixed. And you shall carry them over with you and lay them down in the lodging place which you stay the night. ⁴ And Joshua called to the twelve men whom he had readied from the sons of Israel, one man out of each tribe. ⁵ And Joshua said to them, Cross over before the ark of Jehovah your God to the middle of the Jordan, and each man of you lift up one stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Israel, ⁶ that this shall be a sign among you, when your children ask hereafter, saying, What are these stones to you? ⁷ You shall say to them, Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, as it crossed over into the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. And these stones are for a memorial to the sons of Israel all the days. ⁸ And the sons of Israel did as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the middle of the Jordan, as Jehovah had spoken to Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Israel, and crossed over with them to the lodging place, and laid them down there;

Put away the evil of your doings from My sight; stop doing evil. ¹⁷ Learn to do good, seek justice, reprove the oppressor, judge the orphan, strive for the widow. ¹⁸ Come now and let us reason together, says Jehovah: Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red as the crimson, they shall be like wool.

¹ Hear this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and have come out from the waters of Judah, who swear by Jehovah's name and profess by the God of Israel, not in truth or in righteousness. ² For they are called of the holy city, and rest themselves on the God of Israel; Jehovah of Hosts is His name.

⁴ Do not trust yourself to lying words, saying, The temple of Jehovah! The temple of Jehovah! This is the temple of Jehovah! ⁵ For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings; if you truly practice justice between a man and his neighbor; ⁶ if you do not oppress the stranger, the orphan, and the widow; and do not shed innocent blood in this place, or walk after other gods to your hurt; ⁷ then I will let you dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, from forever and to forever. ⁸ Behold, you trust for yourself on lying words without being of use. ⁹ Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom you do not know? ¹⁰ And will you then come and stand before Me in this house on which My name is called, and say, We are delivered in order to do all those detestable things.

²⁷ And when the wicked turns from his wickedness that he has done and does justice and righteousness, he shall keep his soul alive. ²⁸ Because he considers and turns from all his transgressions that he has done, surely he shall live; he shall not die. ²⁹ But the house of Israel says, The way of the Lord is not fair. Are My ways not fair, O house of Israel? Is it not your ways that are not fair? ³⁰ I will judge you, each man by his ways, O house of Israel, declares the Lord Jehovah. Turn and be made to turn from all your transgressions, and iniquity shall not be a stumbling-block to you. ³¹ Cast away all your transgressions from you by which you have transgressed in them, and make for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit; for why will you die, O house of Israel?

¹¹ But I say to you that many will come from east and west, and will recline with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of Heaven, ¹² but the sons of the kingdom shall be cast out into the outer darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of the teeth.

⁴³ Because of this I say to you, The kingdom of God will be taken from you, and it will be given to a nation bringing forth the fruits of it.

²⁸ There will be weeping and gnashing of the teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being thrust outside. ²⁹ And they will come from east and west, and from north and south, and will recline in the kingdom of God.

²³ And being in torments in Hell, lifting up his eyes, he sees Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosoms. ²⁴ And calling he said, Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am suffering in this flame. ²⁵ But Abraham said, Child, remember that you fully received your good things in your lifetime, and Lazarus likewise the bad things. But now he is comforted, and you are suffering. ²⁶ And besides all these things, a great chasm has been fixed between us and you, so that those desiring to pass from here to you are not able, nor can they pass from there to us. ²⁷ And he said, Then I beg you, father, that you send him to my father's house; ²⁸ (for I have five brothers, so that he may witness to them, that they not also come to this place of torment). ²⁹ Abraham said to him, They have Moses and the Prophets, let them hear them. ³⁰ But he said, No, father Abraham, but if one should go from the dead to them, they will repent. ³¹ And he said to him, If they will not hear Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if one from the dead should rise.

⁴⁰ And answering, He said to them, I say to you, If these should be silent, the stones will cry out.

³³ They answered Him, We are Abraham's seed, and we have been in slavery to no one, never! How do you say, You will become free?

³⁹ They answered and said to Him, Abraham is our father. Jesus said to them, If you were children of Abraham, you would do the works of Abraham.

²⁰ but to those first in Damascus, and Jerusalem, and to all the country of Judea, and to the nations, I announced the command to repent and to turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance.

¹⁶ On account of this, it is of faith, that it be according to grace, for the promise to be made sure to all the seed, not to that of the Law only, but also to that of the faith of Abraham, who is father of us all,

⁷ nor because they are Abraham's seed are all children, but "In Isaac a Seed shall be called to you." Gen. 21:12

¹⁰ For the grief according to God works repentance to salvation, not to be regretted. But the grief of the world works out death. ¹¹ For behold this same thing, you being grieved according to God, how much it worked out earnestness in you, but also defense, but also indignation, but also fear, but also desire, but also zeal, but also vengeance! In everything you commended yourselves to be clear in the matter.

²⁸ There cannot be Jew nor Greek, there is no slave nor freeman, there is no male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. ²⁹ And if you are of Christ, then you are a seed of Abraham, even heirs according to promise.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, ²³ meekness, self-control. Against such things there is not a law. ²⁴ But the ones belonging to Christ crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.

¹¹ being filled with the fruits of righteousness through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

⁷ (For the earth drinking in the rain often coming upon it, and producing plants fit for those for whom it is also worked, receives blessing from God; ⁸ "but bearing thorns and thistles," it is deemed unfit and near a curse, of which the end is for burning.) Gen. 3:17, 18

³³ Behold, the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, shall lop the bough of terror! And the lofty ones shall be cut down, and the proud shall be humbled. ³⁴ And He shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a mighty one.

² Son of man, how is the vine tree more than any other tree, or than a branch that is among the trees of the forest? ³ Shall wood be taken from it to do work? Or will men take from it for a peg to hang every vessel on it? ⁴ Behold, it is put in the fire for fuel. The fire devours both its ends, and its middle is charred. Will it prosper for work?

¹⁸ To whom are you like in glory and greatness among Eden's trees? Yet you shall go down with the trees of Eden to the earth's lowest parts. You shall lie amidst the uncircumcised with the slain of the sword. He is Pharaoh and all his host, declares the Lord Jehovah.

¹⁴ He cried with might and said this: Cut down the tree and cut off its branches. Shake off its leaves and scatter its fruit. Let the animals flee from under it, and the birds leave its branches.

²³ And as the king saw a watcher and a holy one coming down from the heavens, and saying, Cut the tree down, and destroy it. Yet leave the stump of its roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and bronze, in the grass of the field. And let him be wet with the dew of the heavens, and his portion be with the animals of the field, until seven times pass over him.

¹⁰ But already the axe is even laid at the root of the trees; therefore, any tree not bringing forth good fruit is cut down and is thrown into fire.

¹⁹ Every tree not producing good fruit is cut down and is thrown into fire.

⁷ And he said to the vinedresser, Behold, three years I come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down, and why does it waste the ground?

⁹ and see if it indeed makes fruit. But if not, in the future you may cut it down.

²⁹ For behold, days will come in which they will say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that did not bear, and breasts that did not suckle. ³⁰ "Then they will begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us! And to the hills, Cover us!" Hosea 10:8 ³¹ For if they do these things in the green tree, what may take place in the dry?

⁶ Unless one remains in Me, he is cast out as the branch and is dried up; and they gather and throw them into a fire, and they are burned.

²⁸ If anyone did not regard the Law of Moses, that one dies without pities on " the word of two or three witnesses." Deut. 17:6

²⁹ for also, Our God is a consuming fire." Deut. 4:24

⁸ Then bring forth fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say within yourselves, We have Abraham as father. For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham out of these stones.

¹² And tax collectors also came to be baptized. And they said to him, Teacher, what shall we do?

¹⁴ And also ones serving as soldiers asked him, saying, And we, what shall we do? And he said to them, Do not shake violently anyone nor accuse falsely, and be satisfied with your pay.

³⁷ And hearing, they were stabbed in the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Men, brothers, What shall we do?

⁶ Both trembling and being astonished he said, Lord, what do you desire me to do? And the Lord said to him, Rise up and go into the city, and it will be told you what you must do.

³⁰ And leading them outside, he said, Sirs, what must I do that I may be saved?

⁷ Is it not to break your bread to the hungry, that you should bring the wandering poor home? When will you see the naked and cover him; and you will not hide yourself from your flesh? ⁸ Then your light shall break as the dawn, and your healing shall spring up quickly; and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of Jehovah shall gather you. ⁹ Then you shall call, and Jehovah will answer; you shall cry, and He shall say, Here I am . If you put the yoke away from among you, the sending out of the finger, and the speaking of vanity; ¹⁰ and if you let out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then your light shall rise in the darkness, and your gloom shall be as the noonday. ¹¹ And Jehovah shall always guide you, and satisfy your soul in dry places, and support your bones. And you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.

²⁷ So, O king, let my advice be pleasing to you: Even break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by pitying the poor, whether there will be duration to your prosperity.

⁴⁰ And answering, the King will say to them, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it to one of these, the least of My brothers, you did it to Me.

⁵ For this could be sold for over three hundred denarii, and to be given to the poor. And they were incensed with her. ⁶ But Jesus said, Let her alone. Why do you cause her troubles? She worked a good work toward Me. ⁷ For you have the poor with you always, and when you wish, you can do well toward them. But you do not have Me always. ⁸ What this one held, she did. She took beforehand to anoint My body for the burial.

⁴¹ But give alms of the things which are within, and behold, all things are clean to you.

²² And hearing these things, Jesus said to him, Yet one thing is lacking to you: sell all, as much as you have, and give to the poor; and you will have treasure in Heaven. And come, follow Me.

⁸ But standing, Zaccheus said to the Lord, Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I give to the poor. And if in anything I accused anyone falsely, I restore it fourfold.

²⁹ for some thought, since Judas held the moneybag, that Jesus was saying to him, Buy what things we have need of for the feast; or that he should give something to the poor.

² one devout and fearing God, with all his household, both doing many alms to the people and praying continually to God.

⁴ And he was staring at him, and becoming terrified he said, What is it, Sir? And he said to him, Your prayers and your alms went up for a memorial before God.

³¹ And he said, Cornelius, your prayer was heard and your alms were remembered before God.

³ For I testify that according to their ability and beyond their ability, they willingly gave, ⁴ with much entreating, begging us that they might receive of us the grace and the fellowship of the ministry to the saints. ⁵ And not as we hoped, but they first gave themselves to the Lord and to us through the will of God, ⁶ for us to call on Titus, that even as he began before, so also he might complete this grace to you also. ⁷ But even as you abound in everything, in faith, and in word, and in knowledge, and in all earnestness, and in your love in us, that you also should abound in this grace. ⁸ I do not speak according to command, but through the earnestness of others and testing the trueness of your love. ⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that being rich, He became poor for your sake, so that you might become rich by the poverty of that One. ¹⁰ And I give judgment in this, for this is profitable for you, who began before not only to do, but also to be willing from last year. ¹¹ But now also finish the doing of it, so that even as there was the eagerness in the willing, so also the finishing, giving out of what you have. ¹² For if the eagerness is present, it is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have. ¹³ For it is not that there may be ease to others, but trouble to you; ¹⁴ but by equality in the present time, your abundance for their need; but also that their abundance may be for your need, that there may be equality;

¹⁸ to do good, to be rich in good works, to be ready to share, generous,

¹⁰ For God is not unjust, to forget your work and the labor of love which you showed to His name, ministering to the saints, and now are ministering.

²⁷ Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their afflictions, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

¹⁵ But if a brother or a sister is naked and may be lacking in daily food, ¹⁶ and any one of you say to them, Go in peace, be warmed and filled, but does not give them the things the body needs, what gain is it ? ¹⁷ So also faith, if it does not have works, is dead being by itself. ¹⁸ But someone will say, You have faith, and I have works. Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith out of my works. ¹⁹ You believe that God is one. You do well; even the demons believe and shudder. ²⁰ But are you willing to know, O vain man, that faith apart from works is dead? ²¹ Was not our father Abraham justified by works offering up his son Isaac on the altar? Gen. 22:9 ²² You see that faith worked with his works; and out of the works the faith was made perfected. ²³ And the Scripture was fulfilled, saying, "And Abraham believed God, and it was counted for righteousness to him;" and he was called, Friend of God. Gen. 15:6; Isa. 41:8 ²⁴ You see, then, that a man is justified out of works, and not out of faith only. ²⁵ But in the same way Rahab the harlot was also justified out of works, having received the messengers, and sending them out by another way. ²⁶ For as the body is dead apart from the spirit, so also faith is dead apart from works.

¹⁷ Whoever has the means of life of the world, and sees his brother having need, and shuts up his bowels from him, how does the love of God abide in him?

²⁰ If anyone says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar. For the one not loving his brother whom he has seen, how is he able to love God whom he has not seen?

³¹ Which of the two did the will of the father? They said to Him, The first. Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, the tax collectors and the harlots go before you into the kingdom of God. ³² For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. But the tax-collectors and the harlots believed him. And seeing, you did not repent afterwards to believe him.

²⁹ And all the people and the tax collectors hearing, they justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

¹ And all the tax collectors and sinners were coming near to Him, to hear Him. ² And the Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying, This one receives sinners and eats with them.

¹³ And standing at a distance, the tax collector would not even lift up his eyes to Heaven, but smote on his breast, saying, God, be merciful to me, the sinner!

²³ For I was upright with Him, and kept myself from my guilt.

¹³ He who covers his sins never prospers, but he who confesses and forsakes them shall have pity.

⁶ Seek Jehovah while He may be found; call on Him while He is near. ⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way and the vain man his thoughts; and let him return to Jehovah, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

²¹ But the wicked, if he will turn from all his sins which he has done, and keep all My statutes, and do justice and righteousness, surely he shall live; he shall not die. ²² All his transgressions that he has done, they shall not be mentioned to him in his righteousness which he has done; he shall live.

²⁷ And when the wicked turns from his wickedness that he has done and does justice and righteousness, he shall keep his soul alive. ²⁸ Because he considers and turns from all his transgressions that he has done, surely he shall live; he shall not die.

⁸ O man, He has declared to you what is good. And what does Jehovah require of you, but to do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

¹² Therefore, all things, whatever you desire that men should do to you, so also you should do to them; for this is the Law and the Prophets.

¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous ones, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor plunderers shall inherit the kingdom of God.

²⁸ The one stealing, let him steal no more, but rather let him labor, working what is good with the hands, that he may have something to give to the one that has need.

¹¹ For the saving grace of God has appeared to all men, ¹² instructing us that having denied ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live discreetly and righteously and godly in the present age,

¹ So therefore we also, having so great cloud of witnesses lying around us, having laid aside every weight and the easily surrounding sin, through patience let us also run the race set before us,

¹⁶ You shall not testify a witness of falsehood against your neighbor.

¹ You shall not utter a false report; You shall not put your hand with the wicked, to become a violent witness.

¹¹ You shall not steal nor lie, nor deceive to one another.

⁵ And Jesus, entering into Capernaum, a centurion came near to Him, begging Him,

⁷ And when the angel speaking to Cornelius went away, calling two of his servants and a devout soldier of those continually waiting on him,

⁹ For, "Do not commit adultery," "do not murder," "do not steal," do not bear false witness, "do not lust," Ex. 20:13-15, 17 and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this word: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Lev. 19:18 ¹⁰ Love does not work evil to the neighbor. Then love is the fulfillment of law.

¹⁵ that you may be blameless and harmless, children of God, without fault in the midst of a crooked generation, even having been perverted, among whom you shine as luminaries in the world,

¹¹ Not that I speak as to need, for I have learned to be content in whatever state I am.

⁸ But having food and clothing, we will be satisfied with these. ⁹ But those having purposed to be rich fall into temptation, and a snare, and many foolish and hurtful lusts, which plunge men into destruction and loss. ¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of all evils, by means of which some having lusted after it were seduced from the faith, and they themselves pierced through by many pains.

³ aged women likewise in reverent behavior, not slanderers, not having been enslaved by much wine, teachers of good,

⁵ Set your way of life without money-loving, being satisfied with present things; for He has said, "Not at all will I leave you, not at all will I forsake you," never! Deut. 31:6 ⁶ So that we may boldly say, " The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid. What shall man do to me?" LXX-Psa. 117:6; MT-Psa. 118:6

¹⁰ And I heard a great voice saying in Heaven, Now has come the salvation and power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ, because the accuser of our brothers is thrown down, the one accusing them before our God day and night.

¹⁹ And this is the witness of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites that they might ask him, Who are you? ²⁰ And he acknowledged and did not deny; yea, he acknowledged, I am not the Christ. ²¹ And they asked him, What, then? Are you Elijah? And he said, I am not. Are you the Prophet? And he answered, No. ²² Then they said to him, Who are you, that we may give an answer to those sending us? What do you say about yourself? ²³ He said, "I am a voice crying in the wilderness:" "Make straight" "the way of the Lord," as Isaiah the prophet said. Isa. 40:3 ²⁴ And those who had been sent were of the Pharisees. ²⁵ And they asked him and said to him, Why then do you baptize, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet? ²⁶ John answered them, saying, I baptize in water, but One stands in your midst whom you do not know; ²⁷ This One it is who has come after me, who has been before me, of whom I am not worthy that I should loose the thong of His sandal. ²⁸ These things took place in Bethabara beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

²⁸ You yourselves witness to me that I said, I am not the Christ, but that having been sent, I am going before that One. ²⁹ The one having the bride is the bridegroom. But the friend of the bridegroom, standing and hearing him, rejoices with joy because of the bridegroom's voice. Then this my joy has been fulfilled.

²⁴ Then the Jews encircled Him, and said to Him, How long do you lift up our soul? If you are the Christ, tell us publicly.

²³ Turn back at my warning; behold, I will pour out my Spirit to you; I will make my words known to you.

⁴ when the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and the blood of Jerusalem shall have been rinsed away from its midst by a spirit of judgment, and by a spirit of burning.

¹⁵ until is poured out on us the Spirit from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field; and the fruitful field is reckoned as a forest.

³ For I will pour water on a thirsty place, and floods on the dry ground. I will pour My Spirit on your seed, and My blessing on your offspring. ⁴ And they shall sprout as among grass, as willows by streams of water.

²⁵ Then I will sprinkle clean waters on you, and you shall be clean. I will cleanse you from all your defilement and from all your idols.

²⁸ And it shall be afterward, I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh. And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. ²⁹ And also I will pour out My Spirit on the slaves and on the slave girls in those days.

⁹ And I will bring the third part through the fire, and I will refine them as silver is refined. And I will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, It is My people, and they shall say, Jehovah is my God.

² But who can endure the day of His coming? And who will stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire and like fuller's soap. ³ And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; and He shall purify the sons of Levi and purge them like gold and like silver, that they may be presenters of a food offering in righteousness to Jehovah.

⁷ And he proclaimed, saying, He who comes after me is mightier than I, of whom I am not fit to stoop down to loosen the thong of His sandals. ⁸ I indeed baptized you in water, but He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit.

²⁶ John answered them, saying, I baptize in water, but One stands in your midst whom you do not know;

³³ And I did not know Him, but the One sending me to baptize in water, that One said to me, On whomever you see the Spirit coming down and abiding on Him, this is the One baptizing in the Holy Spirit.

³⁸ The one believing into Me, as the Scripture said, Out of his belly will flow rivers of living water. No OT passage

⁵ for John indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days after."

³ And tongues as of fire appeared to them, being distributed, and it sat on each one of them. ⁴ And they were all filled of the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave ability to them to speak.

¹⁷ "And it shall be" in the last days, God says, "I will pour from My Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy;" "and your young men shall see visions," "and your old men shall dream dreams;" ¹⁸ "and also I will pour out My Spirit on My slaves and slave women in those days," and they shall prophesy.

³³ Then being exalted to the right of God, and receiving the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, He poured out this which you now see and hear.

⁴⁴ As Peter was yet speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those hearing the Word.

¹⁵ And in my beginning to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, as also on us in the beginning. ¹⁶ And I recalled the Word of the Lord, how He said, John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit.

²⁴ John going before to proclaim before the face of His entrance a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel. ²⁵ And as John fulfilled the course, he said, Whom do you suppose me to be? I am not He, but, behold, "He comes after me, of whom I am not worthy to loosen the sandal of His feet." John 1:27

⁴ And Paul said, John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe into the One coming after him, that is, into the Christ, Jesus. ⁵ And hearing, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

¹³ For also we all were baptized by one Spirit into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, even all were given to drink into one Spirit.

⁴ Not so are the wicked, but they are only as chaff which the wind drives about.

⁹ You shall set them as a fiery furnace in the time of Your presence; Jehovah will swallow them up in His wrath, and the fire will devour them. ¹⁰ You shall destroy their fruit from the earth, and their seed from the sons of men.

²⁴ Also, the oxen and the young asses that till the ground shall eat seasoned fodder which one winnows with the shovel and with the fork.

⁷ And I will sift them with a fork in the gates of the land; I will bereave; I will destroy My people, for they do not turn from their ways.

¹² But they do not know the plans of Jehovah, nor do they understand His counsel. For He has gathered them like the sheaf to the threshing floor.

¹² whose fan is in His hand, and He will cleanse His floor and will gather His wheat into the barn. But He will burn up the chaff with fire that cannot be put out.

³⁰ Allow both to grow together until the harvest. And in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, First gather the darnel, and bind them into bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my granary.

⁴³ And if your hand offend you, cut it off. For it is profitable for you to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go away into Hell, into the fire that cannot be put out, ⁴⁴ where their worm does not die, and the fire is not put out. ⁴⁵ And if your foot causes you to offend, cut it off, for it is profitable for you to enter into life lame, than having two feet to be thrown into Hell, into the fire that cannot be put out, ⁴⁶ where their worm does not die, and the fire is not put out. ⁴⁷ And if your eye offends you, cast it out. For it is profitable for you to enter into the kingdom of God one-eyed, than having two eyes to be thrown into the Hell of fire, ⁴⁸ "where their worm does not die and the fire is not put out." Isa. 66:24 ⁴⁹ For everyone will be salted with fire, and every sacrifice will be salted with salt.

¹⁵ John witnesses concerning Him, and has cried out, saying, This One was He of whom I said, He coming after me has been before me, for He was preceding me.

²⁹ On the morrow, John sees Jesus coming toward him and said, Behold! The Lamb of God, taking away the sin of the world!

³⁴ And I have seen and have witnessed that this One is the Son of God.

⁴⁰ And with many other words he earnestly testified and exhorted, saying, Be saved from this perverse generation.

⁷ He who reproves a scorner gets shame to himself; and he who rebukes a wicked man gets his own blot. ⁸ Do not reprove a scorner, that he not hate you; rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.

¹² A scorner loves not one who corrects him, nor will he go to the wise.

² But hearing in the prison of the works of Christ, sending two of his disciples,

³ For seizing John, Herod bound him and put him into prison, because of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip. ⁴ For John said to him, It is not lawful for you to have her.

¹⁷ For having sent, Herod himself had seized John and bound him in the prison, because of Herodias the wife of his brother Philip, because he had married her. ¹⁸ For John had said to Herod, It is not lawful for you to have the wife of your brother.

¹ And in the fifteenth year of the government of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate governing Judea, and Herod ruling as tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip ruling as tetrarch of Iturea and the Trachonitis country, and Lysanias ruling as tetrarch of Abilene,

¹⁶ And also Manasseh has shed very much innocent blood, till he has filled Jerusalem from mouth to mouth; apart from his sin that he caused Judah to sin, to do evil in the eyes of Jehovah.

⁴ and also the innocent blood that he shed; for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and Jehovah was not willing to forgive.

¹⁷ And after the death of Jehoiada, the leaders of Judah came in and bowed themselves to the king; then the king listened to them. ¹⁸ And they forsook the house of Jehovah, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherah poles and the idols; and there was wrath on Judah and Jerusalem because of this guilt. ¹⁹ And He sent prophets among them to bring them back to Jehovah; and they testified against them, but they did not listen. ²⁰ And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, and he stood before the people and said to them, So says God, Why do you transgress the commandments of Jehovah, and do not prosper? Because you have forsaken Jehovah, He has forsaken you. ²¹ And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones by the command of the king, in the court of the house of Jehovah. ²² And Joash the king did not remember the kindness that Jehoiada his father had done to him, and killed his son. And when he died, he said, Jehovah shall seek you out .

¹⁶ But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets until the wrath of Jehovah went up against His people, until there was no healing.

²⁶ But they were disobedient, and rebelled against You, and cast Your law behind their backs. And they killed Your prophets who testified against them, to turn them to You. And they worked great blasphemies.

³⁰ In vain I have stricken your sons; they received no correction. Your own sword has devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.

³⁵ And the vinedressers, taking his slaves, they beat this one, and they killed one, and they stoned another. ³⁶ Again he sent other slaves, more than the first. And they did the same to them. ³⁷ And at last he sent his son to them, saying, They will have respect for my son. ³⁸ But seeing the son, the vinedressers said among themselves, This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and get hold of his inheritance. ³⁹ And taking him, they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him . ⁴⁰ Therefore, when the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do to these vinedressers? ⁴¹ They said to Him, Bad men! He will miserably destroy them, and he will rent out the vineyard to other vinedressers who will give to him the fruits in their seasons.

⁶ And the rest, seizing his slaves, insulted and killed them . ⁷ And hearing, the king became angry. And sending his armies, he destroyed those murderers and burned their city.

³¹ So you witness to yourselves that you are the sons of those who murdered the prophets. ³² And you fill up the measure of your fathers. ³³ Serpents! Offspring of vipers! How shall you escape the judgment of Hell?

³¹ In the same day, certain Pharisees came saying to Him, Go out and go on from here, for Herod desires to kill you. ³² And He said to them, Going, say to that fox, Behold, today and tomorrow I cast out demons and I complete cures, and the third day I am perfected. ³³ But today and tomorrow and on the following day I must travel on. For it is not possible for a prophet to perish outside Jerusalem. ³⁴ Jerusalem! Jerusalem! The one killing the prophets, and stoning those having been sent to her, how often I desired to gather your children in the way a hen gathers her brood under the wings, and you did not desire it .

²⁴ For John had not yet been thrown into the prison.

¹⁵ who both killed the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, also driving us out, and not pleasing God, and being contrary to all men, ¹⁶ hindering us from speaking to the nations in order that they be saved, to fill up their sins always. But the wrath has come on them to the uttermost.

⁶ since they poured out the blood of the saints and of the prophets; and You gave blood to them to drink, for they were deserving.

¹³ Then Jesus arrived from Galilee to the Jordan, to John, to be baptized by him. ¹⁴ But John restrained Him, saying, I have need to be baptized by You, and do You come to me? ¹⁵ But answering, Jesus said to him, Allow it now, for it is becoming to us this way to fulfill all righteousness. Then he allowed Him. ¹⁶ And having been baptized, Jesus went up immediately from the water. And, behold! The heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God coming down as a dove, and coming upon Him. ¹⁷ And behold! A voice out of the heaven saying, This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I have found delight. Psa. 2:7; Gen. 22:2; Isa. 42:1

²³ And having dismissed the crowds, He went up into the mountain alone to pray. And evening coming on, He was there alone.

⁹ And it happened in those days, Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. ¹⁰ And going up from the water, immediately He saw the heavens being torn, and the Spirit coming down as a dove upon Him. ¹¹ And there was a voice out of the heavens, You are My Son, the Beloved, in whom I take delight. Psa. 2:7; Gen. 22:2; Isa. 42:1

¹⁶ But He was drawing back in a deserted place, and praying.

¹⁸ And it happened as He was praying alone, the disciples were with Him. And He questioned them, saying, Whom do the crowds say Me to be?

²⁸ And about eight days after these sayings, it happened: also taking Peter and John and James, He went into the mountain to pray. ²⁹ And in His praying, the appearance of His face became different, and His clothing was dazzling white.

³² And John witnessed, saying, I have seen the Spirit coming down as a dove out of Heaven, and He abode on Him. ³³ And I did not know Him, but the One sending me to baptize in water, that One said to me, On whomever you see the Spirit coming down and abiding on Him, this is the One baptizing in the Holy Spirit. ³⁴ And I have seen and have witnessed that this One is the Son of God.

²⁷ And My soul is troubled, and what may I say? Father, save Me out of this hour? But on this account I came to this hour. ²⁸ Father, glorify Your name. Then a voice came out of the heaven: I both glorified it, and I will glorify it again.

⁷ I will declare concerning the statute of Jehovah: He said to Me, You are My Son. Today I have begotten You.

¹ Behold My Servant; I will uphold Him; My Elect in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit on Him; He shall bring forth justice to the nations.

¹⁷ And behold! A voice out of the heaven saying, This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I have found delight. Psa. 2:7; Gen. 22:2; Isa. 42:1

¹⁸ "Behold My Child whom I chose, My Beloved, in whom My soul has delighted! I will put My Spirit on Him, and He will declare judgment to the nations.

⁵ While he was yet speaking, behold, a radiant cloud overshadowed them. And, behold, a voice out of the cloud saying, This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I delight; hear Him. Psa. 2:7; Gen. 22:2; Isa. 42:1; Deut. 18:15

⁴³ He trusted on God. Let Him rescue him now, if He desires him. For he said, I am Son of God.

²¹ And He began to say to them, Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your ears.

³⁴ And he saying these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them. And they feared as those entered into the cloud. ³⁵ And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is My Son, the Beloved; hear Him! Psa. 2:7; Isa. 42:1; Deut. 18:15

³² And John witnessed, saying, I have seen the Spirit coming down as a dove out of Heaven, and He abode on Him.

³⁸ Jesus the One from Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good, and healing all those having been oppressed by the Devil, because God was with Him.

¹³ who delivered us out of the authority of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

⁴ to whom having drawn near, a living Stone, indeed having been rejected by men, but chosen by God, precious;

¹⁷ For receiving honor and glory from God the Father such a voice being borne to Him from the magnificent glory, "This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I was well pleased," Psa. 2:7; Gen. 22:2; Isa. 42:1; Matt. 17:5 ¹⁸ even we heard this voice being borne out of Heaven, being with Him in the holy mountain,

⁴⁶ And Joseph was a son of thirty years as he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the face of Pharaoh and passed over in all the land of Egypt.

³ from a son of thirty years and upward, even until fifty years old, all that enter upon the service, to do work in the tabernacle of the congregation.

³⁵ from a son of thirty years and upward, even to a son of fifty years, everyone who is going into the service, for work in the tabernacle of the congregation.

³⁹ from a son of thirty years and upward, even to a son of fifty years, and everyone who is going into the service, for work in the tabernacle of the congregation,

¹⁷ From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, Repent! For the kingdom of Heaven has drawn near.

⁵⁵ Is this not the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary, and his brothers, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?

³¹ For as long as the son of Jesse lives on earth you shall not be established, you and your kingdom. And now send and bring him to me, for he is a son of death.

¹ And a Shoot goes out from the stump of Jesse, and a Branch will bear fruit out of his roots. ² And the Spirit of Jehovah shall rest on Him; He will have the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and power, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah.

²⁹ And it happened as he withdrew his hand, behold, his brother came out. And she said, How have you broken a break for yourself? And one called his name Pharez.

¹² And the sons of Judah: Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zerah. And Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez: Hezron, and Hamul.

⁸ Judah, may your brothers praise you, your hand be on the neck of your enemies. May the sons of your father bow themselves to you.

¹² And let your house be as the house of Pharez, whom Tamar bore to Judah, of the seed which Jehovah shall give to you of this young woman.

² And Joshua said to all the people, So says Jehovah the God of Israel, Your fathers have in the past lived Beyond the River (Terah the father of Abraham and father of Nahor) and they served other gods.

²⁴ Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah, ²⁵ Eber, Peleg, Reu, ²⁶ Serug, Nahor, Terah, ²⁷ Abram (he was Abraham). ²⁸ The sons of Abraham: Isaac and Ishmael.

³⁴ And Abraham fathered Isaac. The sons of Isaac were Esau and Israel.

² Abraham fathered Isaac, and Isaac fathered Jacob, and Jacob fathered Judah and his brothers.

⁸ And He gave to him a covenant of circumcision; and so he fathered Isaac and circumcised him on the eighth day. And Isaac fathered Jacob, and Jacob the twelve patriarchs.

²⁴ And Arpachshad fathered Salah; and Salah fathered Eber. ²⁵ And two sons were born to Eber; the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.

¹² And Arpachshad lived thirty five years and fathered Salah. ¹³ And after he fathered Salah, Arpachshad lived four hundred and three years And he fathered sons and daughters. ¹⁴ And Salah lived thirty years and fathered Eber. ¹⁵ And after he fathered Eber, Salah lived four hundred and three years. And he fathered sons and daughters. ¹⁶ And Eber lived thirty four years and fathered Peleg. ¹⁷ And after he fathered Peleg, Eber lived four hundred and thirty years. And he fathered sons and daughters. ¹⁸ And Peleg lived thirty years and fathered Reu. ¹⁹ And after he fathered Reu, Peleg lived two hundred and nine years. And he fathered sons and daughters. ²⁰ And Reu lived thirty two years and fathered Serug. ²¹ And after he fathered Serug, Reu lived two hundred and seven years. And he fathered sons and daughters.

²⁸ And Lamech lived one hundred and eighty two years and fathered a son. ²⁹ And he called his name Noah, saying, This one shall comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands because of the ground which the Lord has cursed. ³⁰ And after he fathered Noah, Lamech lived five hundred and ninety five years. And he fathered sons and daughters. ³¹ And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy seven years. And he died. ³² And Noah was five hundred years old. And Noah fathered Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

⁸ And Noah found grace in the eyes of Jehovah. ⁹ These are the generations of Noah. Noah, a righteous man, had been perfected among his family. Noah walked with God. ¹⁰ And Noah fathered three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

²² And Noah did so, according to all that God commanded him, so he did.

¹³ In this same day Noah and Shem and Ham and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, went into the ark;

²³ And every living thing which was on the face of the earth was wiped away, from man to cattle, and to the creeping things, and the fowl of the heavens. And they were wiped off from the earth, and only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ark.

¹ And God remembered Noah and every living thing, and all the cattle which were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.

¹ And God blessed Noah and his sons. And He said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.

¹⁸ And the sons of Noah that went out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And Ham is the father of Canaan.

²⁶ And he said, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Shem; and may Canaan be his slave. ²⁷ God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall live in the tents of Shem, and Canaan shall be their slave.

²¹ And to Shem was born, even to him, the father of all the sons of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder. ²² The sons of Shem were Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram.

¹⁰ These are the generations of Shem: Shem was a son of a hundred years and fathered Arpachshad two years after the flood. ¹¹ And after he fathered Arpachshad, Shem lived five hundred years. And he fathered sons and daughters. ¹² And Arpachshad lived thirty five years and fathered Salah. ¹³ And after he fathered Salah, Arpachshad lived four hundred and three years And he fathered sons and daughters. ¹⁴ And Salah lived thirty years and fathered Eber. ¹⁵ And after he fathered Eber, Salah lived four hundred and three years. And he fathered sons and daughters. ¹⁶ And Eber lived thirty four years and fathered Peleg. ¹⁷ And after he fathered Peleg, Eber lived four hundred and thirty years. And he fathered sons and daughters. ¹⁸ And Peleg lived thirty years and fathered Reu. ¹⁹ And after he fathered Reu, Peleg lived two hundred and nine years. And he fathered sons and daughters. ²⁰ And Reu lived thirty two years and fathered Serug. ²¹ And after he fathered Serug, Reu lived two hundred and seven years. And he fathered sons and daughters. ²² And Serug lived thirty years and fathered Nahor. ²³ And after he fathered Nahor, Serug lived two hundred years. And he fathered sons and daughters. ²⁴ And Nahor lived twenty nine years and fathered Terah. ²⁵ And after he fathered Terah, Nahor lived a hundred and nineteen years. And he fathered sons and daughters. ²⁶ And Terah lived seventy years and fathered Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

¹⁷ The sons of Shem were Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech.

¹⁴ And though these three men were in its midst, Noah, Daniel, and Job, by their righteousness they should deliver only their souls, declares the Lord Jehovah.

²⁷ They were eating, drinking, marrying, giving in marriage, until the day Noah went into the ark. And the flood came and destroyed all.

⁷ Being warned by God about the things not yet having been seen, moved with fear, by faith Noah prepared an ark for the salvation of his house; through which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness according to faith.

²⁰ to disobeying ones, when once the long-suffering of God waited in the days of Noah, an ark having been prepared in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.

⁵ and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah the eighth, a herald of righteousness, bringing a flood on a world of ungodly ones;

⁶ And Seth lived one hundred and five years, and fathered Enos. ⁷ And after he fathered Enos, Seth lived eight hundred and seven years. And he fathered sons and daughters. ⁸ And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years And he died. ⁹ And Enos lived ninety years and fathered Cainan. ¹⁰ After he fathered Cainan, Enos lived eight hundred and fifteen years, and he fathered sons and daughters. ¹¹ And all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years. And he died. ¹² And Cainan lived seventy years and fathered Mahalaleel. ¹³ And after he fathered Mahalaleel, Cainan lived eight hundred and forty years. And he fathered sons and daughters. ¹⁷ And all the days of Mahalaleel were eight hundred and ninety five years. And he died. ¹⁸ And Jared lived one hundred and sixty two years and fathered Enoch. ¹⁹ And after he fathered Enoch, Jared lived eight hundred years. And he fathered sons and daughters. ²⁰ And all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty two years. And he died. ²¹ And Enoch lived sixty five years and fathered Methuselah. ²² And Enoch walked with God three hundred years after he fathered Methuselah. And he fathered sons and daughters. ²³ And all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty five years. ²⁴ And Enoch walked with God; then he was not; for God took him. ²⁵ And Methuselah lived one hundred and eighty seven years and fathered Lamech. ²⁶ And after he fathered Lamech, Methuselah lived seven hundred and eighty two years. ²⁶ And God said, let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creepers creeping on the earth. ²⁷ And God created the man in His own image; in the image of God He created him. He created them male and female.

⁷ And Jehovah God formed the man out of dust from the ground, and blew into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

²⁵ And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son. And she called his name, Seth, for God has appointed to me another seed in place of Abel because Cain killed him.

⁸ But now, Jehovah, You are our Father. We are the clay, and You are our Former; yea, we all are Your handiwork.

²⁶ And He made every nation of men of one blood, to live on all the face of the earth, ordaining fore-appointed seasons and boundaries of their dwelling, ²⁷ to seek the Lord, if perhaps they might feel after Him and might find Him, though indeed He not being far from each one of us. ²⁸ For in Him we live and move and exist, as also some of the poets among you have said, For we are also His offspring. ²⁹ Then being offspring of God, we ought not to suppose that the Godhead is like gold or silver or stone, engraved by art and the imagination of man.

⁴⁵ So also it has been written, "The" first "man", Adam, "became a living soul;" the last Adam a life-giving Spirit. Gen. 2:7
