¹⁷ whose sifting fan is in His hand; and He will fully purge His threshing-floor, and will gather the wheat into His barn, but He will burn: the chaff with fire that cannot be put out.

⁴ Not so are the wicked, but they are only as chaff which the wind drives about.

⁹ You shall set them as a fiery furnace in the time of Your presence; Jehovah will swallow them up in His wrath, and the fire will devour them. ¹⁰ You shall destroy their fruit from the earth, and their seed from the sons of men.

²⁴ Also, the oxen and the young asses that till the ground shall eat seasoned fodder which one winnows with the shovel and with the fork.

⁷ And I will sift them with a fork in the gates of the land; I will bereave; I will destroy My people, for they do not turn from their ways.

¹² But they do not know the plans of Jehovah, nor do they understand His counsel. For He has gathered them like the sheaf to the threshing floor.

For it is profitable for you to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go away into Hell, into the fire that cannot be put out, ⁴⁴ where their worm does not die, and the fire is not put out. ⁴⁵ And if your foot causes you to offend, cut it off, for it is profitable for you to enter into life lame, than having two feet to be thrown into Hell, into the fire that cannot be put out, ⁴⁶ where their worm does not die, and the fire is not put out. ⁴⁷ And if your eye offends you, cast it out. For it is profitable for you to enter into the kingdom of God one-eyed, than having two eyes to be thrown into the Hell of fire, ⁴⁸ "where their worm does not die and the fire is not put out."
