¹ To the chief musician. A Psalm of David. Until when will You forget me, O Jehovah? Forever? Until when will You hide Your face from me? ² Until when shall I set counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart every day? Until when shall my enemy be lifted up over me? ³ Look! Answer me, O Jehovah, my God! Make my eyes gleam, lest I sleep the death; ⁴ lest my enemy say, I have overcome him and my foes rejoice when I am shaken. ⁵ But I have trusted in Your mercy. My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. ⁶ I will sing to Jehovah, because He has rewarded me.

¹⁷ And My anger shall burn against them in that day, and I shall forsake them and hide My face from them. And it shall be consumed, and many evils and distresses shall find this people . And it shall say in that day, Is it not because my God is not in my midst, that these evils have found me?

²⁴ Why do You hide Your face and count me for Your enemy?

³ My soul also is greatly troubled and You, O Jehovah, until when?

¹² Arise, O Jehovah! O God, lift up your hand; do not forget the lowly ones.

¹ To the Chief Musician, on the deer of the dawn. A Psalm of David. My God, my God, why have You forsaken me, and are far from my deliverance, from the words of my groaning? ² O my God, I cry by day, but You do not answer; and in the night, and there is no silence to me.

¹⁷ O Lord, how long will You look on? Draw back my soul from their desolations, my only one from the lions.

²⁴ Why do You hide Your face and forget our affliction and distress?

¹ A Lesson, of Asaph. O God, have You cast us off forever; will Your anger smoke against the sheep of Your pasture?

⁴ O Jehovah God of Hosts, until when will You smoke against the prayer of Your people?

⁵ Will You be angry with us forever? Will You draw out Your anger to all generations?

⁴⁶ O Jehovah, until when will You hide Yourself? Shall Your wrath burn like fire forever?

¹⁴ O satisfy us in the morning with Your mercy, and we will be glad and rejoice all our days.

³ Until when shall the wicked, O Jehovah, until when shall the wicked exult? ⁴ They gush, they speak impudent things; all the workers of evil speak proudly.

² But your iniquities are coming between you and your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, from hearing.

²⁰ Why do You forget us forever, forsake us the length of days?

²⁹ And Saul was still more afraid of David. And Saul was an enemy to David continually.

¹⁹ For if a man finds his enemy, will he let him go on his way well? And Jehovah will repay you good for that which you have done to me today.

² And the king said to me, Why is your face sad, since you are not sick? This is nothing but sorrow of heart. Then I was very much afraid.

⁶ And Esther said, A man, an enemy, and a hating one, Haman! This evil one! And Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.

¹² Am I a sea, or a sea-monster, that You set a watch over me? ¹³ When I say, My bed shall comfort me my couch shall ease my complaint, ¹⁴ then You scare me with dreams, and terrify me with visions; ¹⁵ so that my soul chooses strangling and death rather than my bones.

¹⁹ If I speak of strength, behold, He is mighty; and if of judgment, who can summon me? ²⁰ If I justify myself, my mouth will condemn me; though I am perfect, He shall declare me perverse; ²¹ though I were perfect, I would not know my own soul; I despise my life.

²⁷ If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will loosen my face and be cheerful, ²⁸ I am afraid of all my sorrows; I know that You will not hold me innocent;

¹⁵ If I am wrong, woe to me! And if I am righteous, I will not lift up my head, being filled with shame and seeing my pain.

⁸ Behold, I go forward, but He is not there; and backward, but I do not see Him; ⁹ to the left where He works, but I cannot see; He turns to the right, but I do not see Him . ¹⁰ But He knows the way with me. When I am tried, I shall come forth as gold.

² lest he tear my soul like a lion, ripping, and there be no one to deliver.

⁴ if I have repaid evil to my friend or I have plundered my vexer without cause, ⁵ let the enemy pursue and overtake my soul; yea, trample down my life to earth, and lay my honor in the dust. Selah.

² Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings, You have ordained strength, because of Your tormenters, to cause the enemy and the avenger to cease.

⁶ The desolations of the enemy are ended forever; and You have uprooted the cities; their memory has perished with them.

¹⁸ judge the orphan and the crushed. No more shall the man of the earth continue to terrify.

⁹ from the face of the wicked who stripped me; against my soul, my enemies go all around me.

⁷ All who see Me scornfully laugh at me; they open the lip; they shake the head, saying, ⁸ He rolled on Jehovah, let Him deliver Him; let Him rescue Him, since He delights in Him.

¹⁸ Let the lying lips be silenced which speak recklessly against the righteous with pride and scorn.

¹⁷ For I am ready to fall and my pain is before me always.

⁴ When I remember these things and I pour out my soul on me (for I passed over with the throng; I led them to the house of God with the voice of rejoicing and praise, a host keeping the feast).

⁹ I will say to God my Rock, Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning when the enemy oppresses me? ¹⁰ My oppressors reproach me with crushing in my bones. when they say to me every day, Where is your God?

¹⁴ You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples. ¹⁵ My humiliation is before me all the day; yea, the shame of my face covers me, ¹⁶ because of the slanderer's voice and the blasphemer, before the face of the enemy and avenger.

¹⁰ O God, until when shall the enemy defame You ? Shall the enemy scorn Your name forever?

¹⁸ Remember this: the enemy has defamed, O Jehovah; and a foolish people have scorned Your name.

² In the day of my distress I sought the Lord; my hand was open in the night and did not grow numb; my soul refused to be comforted. ³ I remember God and am troubled; I meditate and my spirit faints. Selah. ⁴ You seized the watches of my eyes; I am troubled, and I cannot speak. ⁵ I thought upon the days of old, the years of bygone ages. ⁶ I will remember my song in the night; I will speak with my own heart, and my spirit carefully searches. ⁷ Will the lord cast off forever; and will He not add to be pleased any more? ⁸ Is His mercy gone forever? Has His word failed for all generations? ⁹ Has God forgotten to be gracious; has He in anger shut up His tender mercies? Selah. ¹⁰ And I said, This is my sickness, the years of the right hand of the Most High; ¹¹ I will remember the works of Jehovah; surely I will remember Your wonders of old. ¹² I will also meditate on all Your works and muse of Your doings.

¹⁸ If I said, My foot slides, O Jehovah, Your mercy has held me up. ¹⁹ In the multitude of my inward thoughts, Your comforts delight my soul.

³ The cords of death hemmed me in; and the pains of Sheol found me; I find distress and sorrow;

³ Be gracious to us, O Jehovah; be gracious to us! For we are exceedingly filled with scorn. ⁴ Our soul is exceedingly filled for itself with the contempt of those who are at ease, the scorn of the proud.

⁴ I look to the right hand and see, and no one recognizes me; every escape is hidden from me; no one inquires for my soul. ⁵ I cried to You, O Jehovah; I said, You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living. ⁶ Attend to my cry; for I am brought very low; deliver me from those who pursue me; for they are stronger than I. ⁷ Bring my soul out from prison to give thanks to Your name; the righteous shall gather around me; for You shall deal bountifully with me.

³ For the enemy has pursued my soul; he has beaten my life to the ground; he has made me dwell in darkness like the dead of old. ⁴ And my spirit within me has fainted; my heart within me is stunned.

¹³ A joyful heart makes a good face, but by grief of heart the spirit is stricken.

¹⁷ Also all his days he eats in darkness, and with much grief, along with his sickness and wrath.

¹⁸ I suffer from desolation; my heart is sick within me, beyond grief.

¹⁸ Why has my pain been without end and my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? You surely are to me like deceitful waters which cannot be trusted.

³ You said, Woe is me now, for Jehovah has added grief to my pain; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.

⁵ Her foes have become as chief; her haters are at ease. For Jehovah has afflicted her for the multitude of her trespasses. Her children have gone, captive before the foe.

⁹ Her uncleanness is in her skirts. She did not remember her end and has gone down astoundingly. She had no comforter. O Jehovah, behold my affliction, for the enemy has magnified himself .

⁸ Rejoice not against me, my enemy; for if I fall, I shall arise. For if sit in darkness, Jehovah is a light to me. ⁹ I will bear the fury of Jehovah because I have sinned against Him, until He pleads my cause and brings forth justice for me. He will bring me out to the light; I shall see His righteousness. ¹⁰ And my enemy shall see; and shame shall cover her, the one saying to me, Where is He, Jehovah your God? My eyes shall look on her. Now she shall be for a trampling, as the mud of the streets.

³⁸ Then He said to them, My soul is deeply grieved, even unto death. Stay here and watch with Me.

⁵³ When I was with you day by day in the temple, you did not stretch out your hand on Me. But this is your hour and the authority of the darkness.

⁶ But because I have said these things to you, grief has filled your heart.

² that my grief is great, and a never ceasing pain is in my heart,

²⁷ For indeed he was sick, coming near to death; but God had mercy on him, and not only on him, but also me, lest I should have grief on grief.

²⁷ And Jonathan did not hear when his father made the people swear. And he put out the tip of the staff in his hand and dipped it into the honeycomb. And he put his hand to his mouth, and his eyes brightened.

²⁹ And Jonathan said, My father has troubled the land. See, now, that my eyes became bright, for I tasted this little honey.

⁸ And now, for a little time grace has been shown from Jehovah our God to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in His holy place, so that our God may enlighten our eyes and give us a little reviving in our bondage.

¹ To the chief musician, for flutes. A Psalm of David Give ear to my words, O Jehovah; consider my meditation.

¹³ Be gracious to me, O Jehovah; see my affliction from my haters, be lifting me up from the gates of death,

²⁸ For You will light my lamp; Jehovah my God will make my darkness light.

¹⁹ Look on my enemies, for they are many; they hate me with a violent hatred.

⁷ And I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy; for You have seen my affliction; You have known the distresses in my soul;

¹⁵³ Resh. Look on my affliction and deliver me; for I do not forget Your law.

³⁹ In their heat, I will make their feasts, and I will make them drunk so that they rejoice and sleep a never ending sleep and never awaken, says Jehovah.

⁵⁷ And I will make her rulers drunk, also her wise ones, her governors, and her rulers, and her mighty men; and they shall sleep a never-ending sleep, and not awaken, says the King whose name is Jehovah of Hosts.

¹ O Jehovah, remember what has been to us; look upon and see our shame.

³² a Light for revelation to the nations, and the Glory of Your people Israel.

¹⁴ Because of this, He says, Arise, sleeping ones and stand up out of the dead ones, and Christ will shine on you. No OT passage

²³ And the city had no need of the sun, nor of the moon, that they might shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it, even its lamp is the Lamb.

⁹ And the Canaanites, and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear, and shall come around against us, and shall cut off our name out of the earth. And what shall You do for Your great name?

¹⁹ Arise, O Jehovah! Do not let man have strength; let the nations be judged before Your face.

¹¹ He has said in his heart, God has forgotten; He hides His face; He will not see forever.

² O my God, I trust in You; do not let me be ashamed; let not my enemies triumph over me.

¹⁹ Let not my lying enemies rejoice over me, do not let those who hate me without cause wink with the eye.

²⁵ Let them not say in their hearts, Aha! Our soul! Let them not say, We have swallowed him up.

¹⁶ For I said, Lest they rejoice over me in the slipping of my foot; they exalt themselves over me.

²² Cast on Jehovah what He has given, and He will keep you; He will not give the righteous to waver, forever.

⁶ For he shall not be shaken forever; the righteous shall be for a memorial forever.

¹ A Song of Ascents. I will lift up my eyes to the hills; from where shall my help come? ² My help comes from Jehovah, the Maker of the heavens and the earth. ³ He will not give your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber.

³ A man shall not be established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

¹⁹ And they shall fight against you; but they shall not overcome you. For I am with you to deliver you, declares Jehovah.

¹⁶ I weep for these; my eye, my eye runs down with water, because far from me is a comforter reviving my soul. My sons are desolated because the enemy prevails.

¹² And you shall know that I am Jehovah. I have heard all your revilings which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, Desolation! They are given to us for food! ¹³ And you magnified with your mouth against Me and have multiplied your words against Me; I have heard. ¹⁴ So says the Lord Jehovah: As all the earth rejoices, I will make you a ruin. ¹⁵ As you rejoiced at the inheritance of the house of Israel because of desolation, so I will do to you. You shall be a ruin, O Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it! And they shall know that I am Jehovah.

¹ And Hannah prayed and said: My heart has exulted in Jehovah; my horn has been high in Jehovah. My mouth has been large over my enemies; for I have rejoiced in Your salvation.

¹⁴ So that I may declare all Your praises in the gates of the daughter of Zion; I will rejoice in Your salvation.

¹⁰ Many sorrows are to the wicked; but he who trusts in Jehovah, mercy embraces him.

¹⁸ Behold the eye of Jehovah is to those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy;

²¹ For our heart rejoices in Him, because we trust in His holy name. ²² Let Your mercy be upon us, O Jehovah, even as we trust in You.

⁷ How precious is Your mercy, O God! And the sons of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.

⁴ Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, the joy of my delight, and I will thank with the lyre, O God, my God. ⁵ Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why do you moan within me? Hope in God, for I will still thank Him, the salvations of my face, and my God.

¹² Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.

⁸ But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.

⁸¹ Kaph. My soul is being consumed for Your salvation; I hope in Your word.

¹¹ Jehovah takes pleasure in those who fear Him, those who hope in His mercy.

² Behold, God is my salvation! I will trust and not be afraid, for my strength and song is Jah Jehovah; yea, He has become my salvation.

¹⁸ yet I will exult in Jehovah; I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.

⁴⁷ and my spirit exulted in God My Savior.

²⁰ And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all things which they heard and saw, even as was spoken to them.

²¹ keep yourselves in the love of God, eagerly awaiting the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to everlasting life.

¹³ Be exalted, O Jehovah, in Your strength; we will sing, and sing psalms of Your power.

⁷ Return to your rest, O soul; for Jehovah has blessed you.

⁷ I will thank You with integrity of heart, in my learning the judgments of Your righteousness.
