⁴ And he persuaded the King of Moab, and they dwell with him continually, while David was in the hold.

¹ And it was told David, saying, behold, the Philistines war in Keila, and they rob, they trample on the threshing-floors. ² And David enquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go and strike these Philistines? And the Lord said, Go, and you shall strike these Philistines, and shall save Keila. ³ And the men of David said to him, Behold, we are afraid here in Judea; and how shall it be if we go to Keila? Shall we go after the spoils of the Philistines? ⁴ And David enquired yet again of the Lord; and the Lord answered him, and said to him, Arise and go down to Keila, for I will deliver the Philistines into your hands. ⁵ So David and his men with him went to Keila, and fought with the Philistines; and they fled from before him, and he carried off their cattle, and struck them with a great slaughter, and David rescued the inhabitants of Keila. ⁶ And it came to pass when Abiathar the son of Achimelech fled to David, that he went down with David to Keila, having and ephod in his hand.

¹³ And three out of the thirty went down, and came to Cason to David, to the cave of Odollam; and [there was] an army of the Philistines, and they encamped in the valley of Raphain. ¹⁴ And David [was] then in the strong hold, and the garrison of the Philistines [was] then in Bethleem.

¹¹ And David rose early in the morning, and the word of the Lord came to the prophet Gad, the seer, saying, Go, and speak to David, saying,

¹⁶ And there came [some] of the sons of Benjamin and Juda to the assistance of David.

⁹ And the Lord spoke to Gad the seer, saying,

²⁹ And the rest of the acts of David, the former and the latter, are written in the history of Samuel the seer, and in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the history of Gad the seer,

²⁵ And he stationed the Levites in the house of the Lord with cymbals, and lutes, and harps, according to the commandment of king David, and of Gad the king's seer, and Nathan the prophet: for by the commandment of the Lord the order [was] in the hand of the prophets.

¹¹ And I said, Who is the man that shall enter into the house, that he may live?

¹ (12) For the end, A Psalm of David, upon the eighth. Save me, O Lord; for the godly man has failed; for truth is diminished from among the children of men.

¹² Let them not say, [It is] hard, for whatever this people says, is hard: but fear not you⌃ their fear, neither be dismayed. ¹³ Sanctify you⌃ the Lord himself; and he shall be your fear. ¹⁴ And if you shall trust in him, he shall be to you for a sanctuary; and you⌃ shall not come against [him] as against a stumbling-stone, neither as against the falling of a rock: but the houses of Jacob are in a snare, and the dwellers in Jerusalem in a pit.
