¹ And David spoke to the Lord the words of this song, in the day in which the Lord rescued him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul.

¹⁸ He delivered me from my strong enemies, from them that hated me, for they were stronger than I.

⁹ My falsehood has become a testimony, and has risen up against me: it has confronted me to my face.

¹³ Have mercy upon me, O Lord; look upon my affliction [which I suffer] of mine enemies, you that lift me up from the gates of death:

¹⁰ Extend your mercy to them that know you; and your righteousness to the upright in heart.

⁴ Let all that seek you exult and be glad in you: and let those that love your salvation say continually, Let God be magnified. ⁵ But I am poor and needy; O God, help me: you are my helper and deliverer, O Lord, delay not.

⁷ I will give you thanks with uprightness of heart, when I have learned the judgments of your righteousness.

⁶ I spread forth my hands to you; my soul [thirsts] for you, as a dry land. Pause.
