⁸ You did cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,

²⁰ Let his eyes see his own destruction, and let him not be saved by the Lord.

⁶ The oracles of the Lord are pure oracles; as silver tried in the fire, proved [in] a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

³ because you were my hope, a tower of strength from the face of the enemy.

¹⁰ How long, O God, shall the enemy reproach? shall the enemy provoke your name forever?

³⁰ Are not those of them that stay long at wine? [are] not [those] of them that haunt [the places] where banquets are? Be not drunk with wine; but converse with just men, and converse [with them] openly.

²² Woe to the strong [ones] of you that drink wine, and the mighty [ones] that mingle strong drink:

¹⁷ Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, that have drunk at the hand of the Lord the cup of his fury: for you have drunk out and drained the cup of calamity, the cup of wrath:

²² thus says the Lord God that judges his people, Behold, I have taken out of your hand the cup of calamity, the cup of my wrath; and you shall not drink it any more.
