²⁵ For you had gone astray like sheep, but you have now returned to the Shepherd and the Guardian of your souls.

³⁶ When Jesus saw the multitudes, he had compassion on them, because they were tired out and scattered, like sheep which have no shepherd.

¹² What do you think? If a man should have a hundred sheep, and one of them is lost, would he not leave the ninety and nine on the mountain, and go in search of the one which is lost?

⁴ What man among you has one hundred sheep, and if one of them should get lost, would he not leave the ninety and nine in the open, and go in search of the one which is lost, until he finds it? ⁵ And when he finds it he rejoices, and he takes it on his shoulders. ⁶ And he comes to his house, and invites his friends and neighbors, and says to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.

¹¹ I am the good shepherd; a good shepherd risks his life for the sake of his sheep. ¹² But the hired person, who is not the shepherd, and who is not the owner of the sheep, when he sees the wolf coming, leaves the sheep and runs away; and the wolf comes and seizes and scatters the sheep. ¹³ The hired person runs away, because he is hired, and he does not care for the sheep. ¹⁴ I am the good shepherd, and I know my own, and my own know me. ¹⁵ Just as my Father knows me, I also know my Father; and I lay down my life for the sake of the sheep. ¹⁶ I have other sheep also, which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear my voice; and all the sheep will become one flock and one shepherd.

²⁸ Take heed therefore to yourselves and to all the flock, over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you overseers, to feed the church of Christ which he has purchased with his blood.

¹ FROM henceforth, O my holy brethren, called by a call from heaven, look to this Apostle and High Priest of our faith, Jesus Christ:

²⁰ Now the God of peace, who brought again from the dead our LORD Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

⁴ And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, you shall receive a crown of glory that will not fade away.
