² That he should no longer live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

²¹ It is not everyone who merely says to me, My Lord, my Lord, will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father in heaven.

⁵⁰ For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven, he is my brother and my sister and my mother.

³¹ Which of these two did the will of his father? They said to him, The first one. Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, that even the publicans and the harlots will precede you into the kingdom of God.

³⁵ For whoever does the will of God, is my brother and my sister and my mother.

²¹ For from within, from the heart of men go out evil thoughts, such as fornication, adultery, theft, murder,

¹³ Those who are not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but born of God.

¹⁷ He who wills to do his will, he will understand if my teaching is from God, or if I am just speaking of my own accord.

² Far be it. How shall we who are dead to sin, continue to live in it?

¹¹ Likewise, you also must consider yourself as being dead to sin, but alive to God through Jesus Christ our LORD.

⁴ Wherefore, my brethren, you also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that you might become anotherÆs, even to him who arose from the dead, so that you may bring forth fruit to God.

² Do not imitate the way of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, that you may discern what is that good and acceptable, and perfect will of God.

⁷ For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself.

¹⁵ And that he died for all, that those who live may not henceforth live for themselves, but for him who died and rose for them.

¹⁹ For through the law I am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. ²⁰ I am crucified with Christ: henceforth it is not I who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life which now I live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

³ In those very deeds in which we were also corrupted from the very beginning through the lusts of the flesh, fulfilling the wills of the flesh and of the mind: thereby we became completely the children of wrath, even as others.

¹⁷ This I say therefore and testify in the LORD: that you henceforth live not as other Gentiles, who live in the vanity of their mind,

²² That you lay aside all your former practices, that is to say, the old man which is degenerated with deceitful lusts; ²³ And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; ²⁴ And that you put on the new man, who is created by God in righteousness and true holiness.

⁷ Therefore do not be partakers with them. ⁸ For previously you were ignorant, but now you have been enlightened by our LORD, and should live therefore like children of light.

¹⁷ Wherefore do not lack wisdom, but understand what the will of God is.

⁶ Not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as the servants of Christ doing the will of God from the heart.

⁹ For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you might be filled with the knowledge of the will of God in all wisdom and in all spiritual understanding;

⁷ In the past you also lived among these things, and you were perverted by them. ⁸ But now put off from you all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, foul conversation.

¹² EpÆa-phras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, salutes you: always labouring for you in prayer, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

¹⁸ In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Jesus Christ concerning you.

³ For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, misled, and serving divers lusts and passions, living in malice and envy, hated, and also hating one another. ⁴ But after the goodness and kindness of God our Saviour was manifested, ⁵ Not so much by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy, he saved us by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit; ⁶ Which he shed on us abundantly, through Jesus Christ our Saviour, ⁷ That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs to the hope of eternal life. ⁸ This is a true saying, and these things I want you to constantly affirm, so that those who believe in God may be careful to continually do good works. These things are good and profitable to men.

²¹ Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in us that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

¹⁸ It is he, who begot us of his own will with the word of truth, that we should be the firstfruits of his creatures.

¹⁴ Like obedient children, not partakers again in those sinful desires for which you once lusted in your ignorance:

¹ THEREFORE lay aside all malice and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and evil accusations,

¹⁴ Or to judges because from them officers are sent for the punishment of offenders, and to bestow honour on those who do good. ¹⁵ For such is the will of God, that by your good works you may silence the mouth of foolish men, who know not God.

¹⁷ And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he who does the will of God abides forever.
