²⁰ From henceforth you will be dumb, and not able to speak, till the day these things happen, because you did not believe these my words which are to be fulfilled in their time.

¹⁹ Jesus answered and said to him, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? and how long shall I preach to you? bring him to me.

¹⁴ At last he appeared to the eleven while they were reclining, and he upbraided them for their little faith and the dulness of their hearts, because they had not believed those who saw him risen.

²² When Zacharias came out, he could not speak with them; and they understood that he had seen a vision in the temple; and he made signs to them with his eyes, but remained dumb.

⁴⁵ And blessed is she who believed; for there will be a fulfillment of the things which were spoken to her from the Lord.

⁶² Then they made signs to his father, what he wanted to call him. ⁶³ And he asked for a tablet and wrote, saying, John is his name. And every one was surprised.

³ For what if some had not believed, could their unbelief nullify the faith of God?

¹³ But if we believe not in him, yet he will still remain faithful; for he cannot deny himself.

² In the hope of eternal life, which the true God promised ages ago;

¹⁸ Thus, by the promise and by the oath which are unchangeable, and in neither of which could God lie, we find courage to hold fast to the hope that has been promised by him in whom we have taken refuge.

¹⁹ I rebuke and chastise all those whom I love: be zealous, therefore, and repent.
