²⁹ And they wove a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they knelt on their knees before him, and they were mocking him and saying, Hail, King of the Jews! ³⁰ And they spat in his face, and took the reed and struck him on his head.

³⁴ And they gave him to drink vinegar mixed with gall; and he tasted it, but he would not drink.
