²³ Then he said in the presence of everyone, He who wishes to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross every day and follow me.

²⁵ He who loves his life will lose it; and he who has no concern for his life in this world will keep it unto life eternal. ²⁶ If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there also will my servant be; he who serves me, him my Father will honor.
