²² For these things are customs which are changeable and they are the commandments and doctrines of men.

¹ NOW the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, following after misleading spirits, and doctrines of devils. ² Who with false appearance mislead and speak lies and are seared in their own conscience; ³ Who prohibit marriage, and demand abstinence from foods which God has created for use and thanksgiving of those who believe and know the truth.

⁹ But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and the theological arguments of the scribes, for they are unprofitable and vain.

²⁶ If any man thinks that he ministers to God, and does not control his tongue, he deceives his own heart, and this manÆs ministry is in vain.

²⁰ Would you know, O weak man, that faith without works is dead?

¹¹ And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever: and those who worship the beast and his image will have no rest day or night. ¹² Here is the patience of the saints: here are they who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

¹⁸ I testify to every man who hears the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add to these things, God shall add to him the plagues that are written in this book:
