⁵ Tell the daughter of Zion, Behold your king is coming to you, meek, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt, the foal of an ass.

² And they were saying, Where is the King of the Jews, who has been born? For we have seen his star in the East, so we have come to worship him.

⁶ Even you, Bethlehem of Judah, you are not insignificant in the eyes of the kings of Judah, for from you shall come out a king, who will shepherd my people Israel.

²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am genial and meek in my heart, and you will find rest to your souls.

¹⁹ He will not argue, nor will he cry aloud; and no man will hear his voice in the street. ²⁰ He will not break even a bruised reed, and he will not extinguish a flickering lamp, until he brings justice to victory;

⁴ So they went and found the colt tied by the door, outside, in the street. And as they were untying it, ⁵ Some of the men who stood there said to them, What are you doing, are you untying the colt? ⁶ And they said to them as Jesus had instructed them; and they permitted them. ⁷ And they brought the colt to Jesus, and they put their garments on it, and Jesus rode on it. ⁸ And many spread their garments on the road; and others cut down branches from the trees, and spread them on the road. ⁹ And those who were in front of him, and those who were behind him, were crying and saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord; ¹⁰ And blessed is the kingdom of our father David, which comes; Hosanna in the highest. ¹¹ And Jesus entered Jerusalem, into the temple; and he saw everything, and when evening came, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered, saying to him, Rabbi, you are the Son of God, you are the King of Israel.

¹⁵ But they cried out, Take him away, take him away, crucify him, crucify him. Pilate said to them, Shall I crucify your king? The high priests said to him, We have no king except Caesar. ¹⁶ Then he delivered him to them to crucify him. So they took hold of Jesus and took him out, ¹⁷ Carrying his cross, to the place which is called The Skull, but in Hebrew it is called Golgotha; ¹⁸ Where they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between. ¹⁹ Pilate also wrote on a stone tablet, and placed it on his cross. And the writing was, THIS IS JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS. ²⁰ And a great many Jews read this tablet, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew* and in Greek and in Roman. ²¹ The high priests then said to Pilate, Do not write that he is the king of the Jews; but that he said, I am the king of the Jews. ²² Pilate said, What I have written, I have written.

¹ NOW I, Paul, beseech you by the gentleness and meekness of Christ, even though I am humble when present among you, I have the assurance when I am far away,

³ Do nothing through strife or vain glory; but in humility let each regard his neighbor better than himself. ⁴ Let no one be mindful only of his own things, but let every one be mindful of the things of his neighbor also. ⁵ Reason this within you which Jesus Christ also reasoned,
