¹⁶ For they know that I am appointed for the defence of the gospel:

¹⁷ For we are not like those who corrupt the word of God: but according to the truth, and as men of God we speak through Christ in the sight of God.

¹ FOR this reason we are not weary of the ministry in which we are engaged, just as we are not weary of the mercies that have been upon us; ² But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, and we do not practice cunning, nor do we handle the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth we commend ourselves to every manÆs conscience before God.

⁷ And this is the right way for me to think of you all, because I have you in my heart, because through all my imprisonment and my defense and confirmation of the truth of the gospel, you have been partakers with me of grace.

¹⁰ So that you may choose the things that are excellent; and that you may be pure and without offence in the day of Christ;
