¹⁹ Wherefore shall we die before thy eyes, both we and our land? buy us and our land for bread; and we and our land will be servants unto Pharaoh; and give us seed, that we may live, and not die, and that the land be not rendered desolate.

² And there were some that said, Our sons, and our daughters, and ourselves are many; and we must buy corn, that we may eat, and live. ³ And others there were that said, We must pledge our fields, our vineyards, and our houses, that we may buy corn, in the famine.

⁴ Then answered the Accuser the Lord, and said, Skin for skin: yea, all that a man hath will he give in behalf of his life.

¹¹ all her people sigh, they are seeking bread; they have given their precious things for food to refresh their soul: see, O Lord, and look, how I have been brought low.

⁶ To Egypt do we stretch out our hand, to Asshur, to be satisfied with bread.
