³⁵ From the cloud a voice came, which said, This is my Son, the beloved; hear him.

¹⁷ while a voice from heaven proclaimed, This is my Son, the beloved, in whom I delight.

²² and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in a bodily form, like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my Son, the beloved; in thee I delight.

³ how shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation? which, beginning to be spoken by the Lord, was confirmed to us by them who heard him;

⁷ Wherefore, as the Holy Spirit says, "Today, if you will hear his voice, ⁸ harden not your hearts, as in the bitter provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness;

⁹ and being made perfect, became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey him;

²⁵ Take care that you refuse not him who speaks: for if they did not escape, who refused him who spoke on earth, much more we shall not escape, who turn away from him that speaks from heaven: ²⁶ whose voice then shook the earth; but now he has promised, saying, "Yet once I shake not the earth only, but also the heavens."
