²¹ For in eating each one takes his own supper first; and one is hungry, and another drunken.

¹⁶ The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? ¹⁷ For we, the many, are one bread and one body; for we are all partakers of that one bread. ¹⁸ Behold Israel after the flesh. Are not those who eat of the sacrifices also partakers of the altar?

²³ For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which he was betrayed took bread; ²⁴ And giving thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body, which is broken for you; this do in remembrance of Me." ²⁵ In the same way He took the cup also, after supping, saying, "This cup is the New Covenant in My blood; as often as you drink it, do this in remembrance of Me."
