²⁰ And he took the calf which they had made and burned it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and dropped it upon the water, and made the sons of Israel drink of it.

³⁰ And I will destroy your high places and cut down your images, and throw your carcasses on the carcasses of your idols, and My soul shall despise you.

⁵ But you shall deal with them in this way: you shall destroy their altars and break down their images, and cut down their groves and burn their graven images with fire.

²¹ And I took your sin, the calf which you had made, and burned it with fire, and stamped it, grinding it very small, until it was as small as dust. And I threw the dust of it into the torrent that descended out of the mountain.

⁶ If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son, or your daughter, or the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is like your own soul, lures you secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods which you have not known, you nor your fathers, ⁷ that is, of the gods of the people who are around you, near you or far off from you, from the one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth, ⁸ you shall not consent to him nor listen to him. Nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare, nor shall you hide him. ⁹ But you shall surely kill him. Your hand shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. ¹⁰ And you shall stone him with stones so that he dies, because he has sought to drive you away from Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slaves. ¹¹ And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this among you.

⁹ who said to his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; and he has not acknowledged his brothers, nor knew his own son, for they have observed Your Word and kept Your covenant.

²⁴ And they burned the city with fire, and all that was in it. Only the silver and the gold, and the vessels of bronze and iron, they put into the treasury of the house of Jehovah.

²³ And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over. The king himself also passed over the torrent Kidron, and all the people passed over toward the way of the wilderness.

² He reigned three years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.

¹⁰ And he reigned in Jerusalem forty-one years. And his grandmother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.

⁴ He removed the high places, and broke the pillars, and cut down the Asherah. And he broke in pieces the bronze serpent which Moses had made; for until those days the sons of Israel burned incense to it. And he called it Nehushtan.

⁶ And he brought out the Asherah from the house of Jehovah outside Jerusalem, to the torrent Kidron, and burned it at the torrent Kidron, and stamped it to powder, and threw the powder of it on the graves of the sons of the people.

¹² And the altars which were on the top of the upper room of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made, and the two courts of the house of Jehovah, the king beat them down, and broke them down from there. And he threw the dust of them into the torrent Kidron. ¹³ And the high places which were before Jerusalem on the right hand of the Mount of Corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had built for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Sidonians, and for Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, and for Milcom the abomination of the sons of Ammon, the king defiled. ¹⁴ And he broke the images in pieces, and cut down the Asherahs, and filled their places with the bones of men. ¹⁵ And also the altar which was at Bethel, and the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, both that altar and the high place he broke down, and burned the high place; he stamped it to powder, and burned the Asherah.

¹⁵ And all Judah rejoiced at the oath, for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought Him with their whole desire. And He was found by them, and Jehovah gave them rest all around. ¹⁶ And also as to Maachah the mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen mother, because she had made an idol in a grove. And Asa cut down her idol and stamped it and burned it at the torrent Kidron. ¹⁷ But the high places were not taken away out of Israel. But the heart of Asa was perfect all his days. ¹⁸ And he brought into the house of God the things which his father had dedicated, and which he himself had dedicated, silver and gold and vessels. ¹⁹ And there was no war to the thirty-fifth year of the reign of Asa.

⁴ And they broke down the altars of the Baals in his presence. And he cut down the images which were on high above them, and the Asherahs. And the carved images and the molten images he also broke in pieces and made dust from them, and scattered on the graves of the ones who had sacrificed to them.

³ And it shall be when any shall yet prophesy, his father and his mother who gave birth to him shall say to him then, You shall not live; for you speak lies in the name of Jehovah. And his father and his mother who gave him birth shall thrust him through when he prophesies.

³⁷ He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

⁴⁶ But while He yet talked with the people, behold, His mother and His brothers stood outside, desiring to speak with Him. ⁴⁷ Then one said to Him, Behold, Your mother and Your brothers stand outside, desiring to speak with You. ⁴⁸ And He answered and said to him who told Him, Who is My mother? And who are My brothers? ⁴⁹ And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, Behold, My mother and My brothers! ⁵⁰ For whoever shall do the will of My Father in Heaven, the same is My brother and sister and mother.

¹ Having spoken these words, Jesus went out with His disciples over the winter stream Kidron, where there was a garden. He and His disciples entered into it.

¹⁶ So as we now know no one according to flesh, but even if we have known Christ according to flesh, yet now we no longer know Him so.

⁵ to whom not even for an hour did we yield in subjection, that the truth of the gospel might continue with you. ⁶ But from those who seemed to be something (what kind they were then does not matter to me; God does not accept the face of man), for those seeming important conferred nothing to me.

¹⁴ But when I saw that they did not walk uprightly with the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before all, If you, being a Jew, live as a Gentile, and not as the Jews, why do you compel the nations to judaize?
