¹⁸ And he said, Why does my lord pursue after his servant this way? For what have I done? Or what evil is in my hand?

²⁹ And David said, What have I done now? Was it not only a word?

⁹ And David said to Saul, Why do you hear man's words, saying, Behold, David seeks to do you evil?

¹¹ And, my father, behold! Yes, see the skirt of your robe in my hand. For in that I cut off the skirt of your robe and did not kill you, know and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in my hand, and I have not sinned against you. Yet you hunt my soul to take it. ¹² May Jehovah judge between me and you, and may Jehovah avenge me of you. But my hand shall not be on you. ¹³ As the ancient proverb says, Wickedness proceeds from the wicked. But my hand shall not be on you. ¹⁴ After whom has the king of Israel come out? After whom do you pursue? After a dead dog? After a flea?

³ O Jehovah my God, if I have done this; if there is iniquity in my hands; ⁴ if I have rewarded evil to my friend, or if I have delivered one oppressing me without cause; ⁵ let the enemy persecute my soul and take it; yea, let him trample down my life on the earth and lay my honor in the dust. Selah.

⁷ For without cause they have spread their net for me in a pit-net; without cause they have dug for my soul.

⁴ They who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; they who would destroy me are mighty, my lying enemies. Then I restored what I did not take away.

⁴⁶ Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do you not believe Me?

³² Jesus answered them, I have shown you many good works from My Father; for which of these do you stone Me?

²³ Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil; but if well, why do you strike Me?
