⁶ But He who comforts the lowly comforted us by the coming of Titus.

¹ And in that day you shall say, O Jehovah, I will praise You; though You were angry with me, turn away Your anger, and You shall comfort me.

¹² I, I, am He who comforts you. Who are you, that you should fear a man. He shall die, or from the son of man? He shall be made as grass?

¹⁵ For so says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity; whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, even with the contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

¹⁸ I have seen his ways, and will heal him. I will also lead him, and restore comforts to him and to his mourners.

¹ The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is on Me; because Jehovah has anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; ² to preach the acceptable year of Jehovah and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;

¹³ Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together; for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them and make them rejoice from their affliction.

⁴ Blessed are they that mourn! For they shall be comforted.

¹⁶ And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, so that He may be with you forever,

⁵ And may the God of patience and consolation grant you to be like minded toward one another according to Christ Jesus,

¹⁷ I am glad at the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus; for these supplied your lack. ¹⁸ For they have refreshed my spirit and yours; then acknowledge such ones.

³ Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, ⁴ He comforting us in all our trouble, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in every trouble, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

¹³ I had no rest in my spirit because I did not find Titus my brother. But taking my leave of them, I went from there into Macedonia. ¹⁴ Now thanks be to God, who always causes us to triumph in Christ, and He revealing through us the odor of the knowledge of Him in every place.

¹³ Therefore we have been comforted in your comfort, and we rather rejoiced more abundantly over the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.

¹ If there is therefore any encouragement in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tendernesses and mercies,

² And we sent Timothy, our brother and minister of God, and our fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you and to comfort you concerning your faith,

⁶ But now when Timothy came from you to us and brought us good news of your faith and love, and that you have good remembrance of us always, desiring to see us (as we also you), ⁷ then, my brothers, we were comforted over you, through your faith, even in all our affliction and needs;

¹⁶ Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God, even our Father, who has loved us and has given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, ¹⁷ comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.

² Beloved, in regard to all things I pray that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. ³ For I rejoiced greatly when the brothers came and testified of the truth that is in you, even as you walk in the truth. ⁴ I have no greater joy than these things, to hear that my children walk in the truth.
