²⁹ And the Levite, because he has no part nor inheritance with you, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, who are inside your gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied, so that Jehovah your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.

²¹ You shall neither vex a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. ²² You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child. ²³ If you afflict them in any way, and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry. ²⁴ And My wrath shall become hot, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall be widows, and your sons fatherless.

³⁴ The stranger that dwells with you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself. For you were strangers in the land of Egypt. I am Jehovah your God.

¹² And you shall rejoice before Jehovah your God; you, your sons, your daughters, your menservants, your female servants, and the Levite that is within your gates (because he has no part nor inheritance with you).

²⁷ and the Levite within your gates, you shall not forsake him, for he has no part nor inheritance with you.

¹⁰ You shall surely give to him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing Jehovah your God shall bless you in all your works, and in all that you put your hand to.

¹¹ And you shall rejoice before Jehovah your God, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your male servant, and your slave girl, and the Levite inside your gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, those among you, in the place which Jehovah your God has chosen to place His name there.

¹⁴ And you shall rejoice in your feast, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your male slave, and your slave-girl, and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow inside your gates.

¹⁹ When you cut down your harvest in your field, and have forgotten a sheaf in the field, you shall not go again to bring it. It shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow; so that Jehovah your God may bless you in all the work of your hand. ²⁰ When you beat your olive tree, you shall not go over the boughs again. It shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow. ²¹ When you gather the grapes from your vineyard, you shall not glean afterward. It shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

¹² When you have made an end of tithing all the tithes of your increase the third year, the year of tithing, and have given it to the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow (that they may eat inside your gates and be filled), ¹³ then you shall say before Jehovah your God, I have brought away the holy things out of my house, and also have given them to the Levite, and to the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all Your commandments which You have commanded me. I have not broken Your commandments, neither have I forgotten.

¹⁶ If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail, ¹⁷ or have eaten my bit alone, and the fatherless has not eaten of it, ¹⁸ for from my youth he grew up with me, as with a father, and from my mother's womb I guided her; ¹⁹ if I have seen any perish for lack of clothing, or there was no covering for the needy; ²⁰ if his loins have not blessed me, and he warmed himself with the fleece of my flock; ²¹ if I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless when I watched over my help in the gate; ²² then let my arm fall from the shoulder blade, and let my arm be broken from the elbow.

¹ To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. Blessed is he who acts wisely toward the poor; Jehovah will deliver him in time of trouble.

⁹ Honor Jehovah with your substance, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; ¹⁰ and your barns shall be filled with plenty, and your presses shall burst with new wine.

²⁴ There is one who scatters and yet increases; but one who withholds just due comes only to poverty.

¹⁷ He who has pity upon the poor lends to Jehovah, and He will reward his dealing to him.

⁷ Is it not to break your bread to the hungry, and that you should bring home the wandering poor? When will you see the naked and cover him; and you will not hide yourself from your own flesh? ⁸ Then shall your light break out as the dawn, and your health shall spring out quickly; and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of Jehovah shall gather you. ⁹ Then you shall call, and Jehovah shall answer; you shall cry, and He shall say, Here I am. If you take the yoke away from among you, the pointing of the finger, and speaking vanity; ¹⁰ and if you draw out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall your light rise in darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday. ¹¹ And Jehovah shall always guide you and satisfy your soul in dry places, and make your bones fat; and you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters fail not. ¹² And those who come of you shall build the old ruins; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

¹⁰ Bring all the tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house. And test Me now with this, says Jehovah of Hosts, to see if I will not open the windows of Heaven for you, and pour out a blessing for you, until there is not enough room. ¹¹ And I will rebuke your devourer, and he shall not decay the fruit of your ground against you; nor shall your vine miscarry against you in the field, says Jehovah of Hosts.

³⁵ But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return. And your reward shall be great, and you shall be the sons of the Highest. For He is kind to the unthankful and to the evil.

⁴¹ But give alms of such things as you have, and behold, all things are clean to you.

¹² And He also said to him who invited Him, When you make a dinner or a supper, do not call your friends or your brothers, or your kinsmen, or your rich neighbors; lest they also invite you again, and a recompense be made to you. ¹³ But when you make a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind, ¹⁴ and you shall be blessed, for they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.

⁶ But I say this, He who sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully shall also reap bountifully. ⁷ Each one, as he purposes in his heart, let him give; not of grief, or of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver. ⁸ And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that in everything, always having all self-sufficiency, you may abound to every good work; ⁹ As it is written, "He scattered; he has given to the poor; his righteousness remains forever." ¹⁰ Now He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for eating, may He supply and multiply your seed, and increase the fruits of your righteousness ¹¹ you being enriched in everything to all generosity, which works out thanksgiving to God through us.

² Do not be forgetful of hospitality, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.

²⁷ Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit orphans and widows in their afflictions, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
